	Yes he could have been more powerful than both Yoda or Palpatine , this is firmly established . Of coarse this begs to ask the question how ? He was already a fully trained Jedi during ROTS so why didn't he display this amazing power as a Jedi ? Why couldn't he easily defeat Obi Wan ? Why didn't he do anything that made his power seem so much more than the other Jedi ? And if Palpatine would have been able to teach him in the ways of the Sith fully intact why would he have become more powerful than Sidious if he showed no extraordinary strength as a Jedi ? Yoda does say to Palpatine that his faith in Anakin maybe misplaced . What does that mean ?

	I still wonder though what Anakin would have had to do to become a powerful as he could have been , he was already a fully trained Jedi in ROTS . From what I remember GL saying had Anakin not been crippled he would have become twice as powerful as Sidious .

	What could he have done that the other Jedi couldn't? Probably nothing. If he stayed the good little Jedi, he never would have pursued immortality, and he would have to abide by the standards and rules of the Jedi Order. He probably would be able to do everything that any other Jedi could do with the force, just more effectively in every way. Now... a Sith is not bound by any such rules or regulations. As a Sith, had he never suffered his injuries, he probably could have discovered new powers and probably could have re-discovered the ability to cheat death.

	The Sith shackle themselves at least as badly as the Old Jedi did by concentrating solely on negative emotions for their power. Sure, Palpatine spouts some nice lines about a "larger view of the Force" but I don't see anything particularly visionary about concentrating on how mad other people make you. -----signature----- Only a Prime can defeat Vader and his Emperor.

	Actually I don't think the Sith focus solely on negative emotions , Anakin states that they rely on their emotions and passion for their strength and not solely hatred . Sure some like Sidious and probably Darth Maul do but on the other hand I do not think Dooku did .

	what really bothers me is that they have Anakin/Vader as a rank 9 and Obi Wan as a Rank 8. Yet they both do a force push and they end in a stalemate. I can fully understand that with the duel between Anakin/ObiWan, Anakin was holding back to a degree. I remember as a kid, while boxing/playing with my cousin I wouldn't hit him like I knew I could. I am sure that this is one of the things that happened through the duel. I am sure Anakin was just trying to impale Obi-wan until he says, "this is the end for you my master". He clearly takes control of the fight and in the end when Obi-wan taunts him "It's over, I have the high ground." It was like saying.. It's over... I won. Anakin got pissed and made a mistake... But the force pushing contest ending in a stalemate still bothers me a lot. Anyways... what was said about Anakin's leadership has been thrown out the table by the clone wars. Anakin shows EXEMPLARY leadership skills. Had he not been injured like he was, I am sure he would have been immortal and probably been able to manipulate everyone's mind and not just the weak minded, perhaps reading thoughts. He would have been able to pre-cog with further degree and probably augment any jedi skills shown on films/books/cartoons. Thanks

Thanks That's what I've been saying , there is nothing in the movies that Anakin does that suggests he's more powerful than other Jedi or Sith for that matter .

Actually, men with testosterone < 300 ng/dL (below normal) tend to be more aggressive than men with testosterone > 1000 ng/dL (above normal). Perhaps because men with more testosterone tend to be more confident. Of course, if you use anabolic steroids, that's different. One possible reason for all this is because obesity, lack of exercise, and insulin resistance all sap testosterone. Thanks That's what I've been saying , there is nothing in the movies that Anakin does that suggests he's more powerful than other Jedi or Sith for that matter . I am sure because there was no time to show it... I would have loved to see Darth Vader kicking a lot of jedi's butt on the purge effortlessly. And not precisely for "loving the dark side" but to actually see how powerful Anakin really was.

	He wasn't as powerful anymore by then . It seems to me that Darth Vader in suit is about equal with other strong Jedi .
