Why else would it be in there for less than three seconds? It serves no function, or service to the story. Its only in there to spark interest...

wow that is so awesome, I can't believe I never noticed that, I usually always look in the background of scenes just to see whats going on (a kind of annoying habit I picked up after doing a film course)

This was on the "Easter egg" list when Epi.III came out at the offical site. Lucas loves to do these things to his films.

Since Han and Lando are chronologically similar, Han was born circe 29BBY, and EPIII happened in 20-19BBY, one can assume Lando was alive and very much adolescent (i.e. NOT piloting the Falcon).

According to the The SW OS :

"The Falcon began life as a standard Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 stock light freighter." Wookiepedia states the Falcon was constructed in 60BBY, and after the CEC went out of business, the Galactic Senate and Jedi secretly used the ship as part of the secretive "Republic Group" (circa 29BBY).

We first (or last, depending upon one's perspective) see it in ROTS in about 19BBY, already 41 years young!

And I was writing for the NaNoWriMo 2008 a story about the origins of the Falcon when the novel came and I had to change my story to keep it canon. It's DNA I.D.
