	Well,most of the Jedi could deflect blaster shots with ease using their light sabers(unless they were so out gunned/overwhelmed) so I think it would have been futile for a dart to get past.His blaster was more useful weapon than a dart against a Jedi.He still lost his head anyways.

	For that matter, why didn't anyone simply come up with a damping field to disable light sabers? Or the force itself? The Jedi come up with all sorts of novel weapons but no one else can? 	well of course a jedi has a ligtsaber, but I seriously doubt that Mace Windu himself could have deflected Jangos sabre dart, I mean when he used it on Zam you couldnt even see the dart because it was too fast to be seen. It hit Zam in like 1 millisecond.

He did. He attacked Mace first with his flamethrower, Mace jumped off the balcony and disrobed. Jango flew down and tried to grab Mace's lightsaber, after the Ronto had knocked it loose. After the Ronto ran over Jango, Jango got up, ran towards Mace firing his blasters, which Mace blocked, than cut in half, and beheaded Jango.
