Patrick Swayze dying of Pancreatic Cancer. Allegedly has five weeks to live, hard to say with news fluctuating like it does.
Is it weird that this makes me sad?

Dave Stevens, the creator of The Rocketeer, died today after a long battle with leukemia. He was 53. He arguably brought pulp style artwork back to comics in the 1980s, and The Rocketeer was a loving homage to the 1930s.

90 years and 100+ stories is no small legacy, but he will be sorely missed all the same.
If there aren't plans to shoot his ashes into space, there ought to be.

I really must pass on copies of that RAMA game. Arthur C Clarke cameos in it a lot - when you die in the game he comes on screen with the crab biot that's just mollested your currently diced corpse and tells you helpful things like "don't walk in front of giant crab robot thingies. Bad for health. Keep trying."
Anywho, this is sad: Chantal Sebire found dead at home. French woman suffering terribly due to horrifying facial tumours. Her plea for euthanasia had been rejected on Monday. The cause of her death is unknown at this juncture, but I'm guessing that she found a way of ending it herself.

WTF??? I wasn't even aware of this law... I would have thought it was common sense that it was still rape if a woman changed her mind and as for the contract thing ffs, who wants to fill out a 2 page form every time they want to get laid? Seriously who would? No one.
