	So how do we know he is dead? I am sure poor Mace is dead, with a missing hand etc. But still...one of the most powerful Jedi shouldn't go out like that!

	luke fell a couple hundred feet onto a slide at an angle which with the coefficient of friction helped reduce his speed as he plumeted limiting the damage he sustained.
