Not even Antonio "Tony" Montanna (Scarface) would kill children. Don't see how he can be redeemed, and join Yoda and Obi-Wan in the Jedi spiritual after-life after some the things he's done. If you look at the big picture, he seemed to do alot more evil in his life than actual good. If Luke had known everything Anakin did in ROTS, I believe Luke would even think Vader was beyond redemption.

i guess seeing your own son tourtured by your best friend wouldnt sway you to help him...the same son that spared you your life...
i personally would have liked to see anakin fighting the younglings, just because i would like to see how they stack up agianst vader, but i'm not that interested in a slaughter

I think it was very well done and it is important to the story to show how evil Vader is. Some claim we already know how bad he is. But I don't agree. In the OT we all assume he is the evil Sith Lord who doesn't care about anytbody. But all the people we see him kill there are Imperial people (minus Obi Wan who let himself to be killed) who fail in their mission to find his son. And in the end he gets rid of the Emperor. We needed to see Vader truly evil. And that is done in ROTS without a doubt with him killing the Jedi, the younglings and force choking Padmé - that shows his evilness without a doubt. And did they have to show him with the younglings? No, but that way it was much more powerful and the emergence of the young youngling who helped Bail was more surprising that way.

It isnt the first time weve seen kids killed or abused on TV. Just watch any number of movies which are based on fact. Like Schindler's List. No one complained when they actually showed kids being killed.

I understand what you mean TrueJedi. It isn't necessary to show younglings getting killed or even their bodies. It would not hurt the movie to just show Jedi Knights getting taken out. It would be implied that younglings were taken out from the fact that we saw them at the temple in ATOC.

It was a powerful scene. And I really thought the one fighting the clones would make it...
Anakin coming into the council room... The little boy begging for help, Anakin activating his lightsaber...
Oh my God...
I was really close to scream at the screen, ANAKIN DON'T...

LOL at True Jedi
YEah, you probably could. Somebody should drag their kid up to the infromation counter and complain that your kid is scarred for life cos' Darth Vader killed children.
What's more fun than looking at that old ROTJ thread with 1983 posts? Go look at the old threads with people COMPLAINING that they HEARD that the CLONETROOPERS were going to kill the younglings. Then all the threads were people couldn't believe that a villain like Darth Vader could commit something THIS evil. Suddenly we've gone too far with Vader. hahahahaha.

Yeah, right on.
That's one way to get to see ROTS for free.
Should we start a topic asking, "How many ways can you see ROTS for free?"

All I've been doing is responding to people addressing questions or points to me. So if you don't like it, don't read. I'm now going to say a prayer against you.

I can't seem to avoid your whining about it. Ok you don't like it, great, move on.
Having seen the film last night I can tell you the Youngling scene has been overhyped. Nothing is shown, it's all completely impilied & then just stated by Obi-Wan

Dude, have you never seen the Church Lady on SNL? I stole the line from Dana Carvey's character. And yes, I am a Christian. Thank you for coming, I'm here every day and night, and don't forget to tip your waitress.

In the theatre I was in, the whole audience laughed when the little kid asked skywalker for help. The sickos. If I were to do that bit differently, I'd have had Vader actually raise his sabre to them before cutting away. I'd also have them described as children rather than younglings.
