Darth_Downunder, I'm not whining, you are. I'm just being considerate and responding to people who are talking to me. Should I ignore them?

In the theatre I was in, the whole audience laughed when the little kid asked skywalker for help. The sickos.
Ladybird, where did you see the movie? That sounds like people here in CA or in NY would do that.

I dunno...I would be more worried about my kids seeing Grievous' eyes explode into fire than the implied deaths of a few younglings...

I thought it was fine implied. It would've just been unneccesary violence if it had been shown in all its glory. More shocking yes, but not necessary.

It was necessary and implied (watching the kids get hacked onscreen would've been over the taste line, imo). It makes the "youngling" scene in AOTC fairly disturbing, I guess and it was needed as a barometer of just how dark, Anakins' "dark deeds" turn out to be. Sidious had to ensure that the future of the Jedi would be wiped out as well as well as testing out exactly how far Vader had descended to the 'dark side'.
A genocide is a genocide and dreadful things do happen in the world - the other film that's being released "Shake hand with the Devil" about the Rwandan massacre in 1994, is far, far more disturbing since real kids
did
get hacked to death - and we did nothing about it.

RE: The Youngling Slaughter - What's your opinion now that you've seen it?
I have seen it and it was delicious - the blood flowed in rivers, and Anakin lauged as he washed his boots in it, greasing the leather with the butchered infants entrails.
The bit where he held his unlit sabre to one kid's forehead and told him he had 13 and a half seconds to name every star system in the Rebublic was hilarious, as was the look on the child's face when Anakin lit the sabre, sending the blade of light deep, deep into that innocent little head, taking the light from those angel eyes - if it had taken longer, it'd would have equalled the bit where he impales that Youngling and holds the body aloft, drikning deeply of the red torrent that bathes his face.
All in all, a welcome change of pace in the film after the opening section was devoted to setting up the decay of the Rebublic via a 22 minute symbolic poop-stepping montage as Jar-Jar discovers that every toilet in the Senate has become blocked, and is now overflowing, creating a slipery lurking hazard on every floor, deftly illustrating the complex moral maze Lucas has placed his charaters in.

Back to the topic in hand....
Nice implied. But I would have liked to see Anakin continue into the Jedi Temple instead of just cut away to another sequence .. they could have showed him slash down 1 Jedi in the same way as they did it with the Sandpeople in AOTC .. but all in all it was cool
The implied death of the Younglings was creepy as hell
But all in all it was awesome
