Why does movies always have to make you feel good. I think any movie that makes you feel something other then board is a good movie. Not a great movie, but atleast a good movie. If you are watching this and saying to yourself..."G-d, He is one evil F***..." Then GL did a good job.

Actually, I don't view Anakin like that at all. I think of it as, "what could happen to this young man to make him feel as if this was the only way to go"?

Why would this hero think this was the only way out...the only way to go.

This is how GL wants you to look at it I think.

"Leonard, seeing you strike down invalid arguments brings warm feelings to my heart."

In regards to people wanting this to be a "feel good" kinda movie...and good, wholesome family entertainment...I say: What the ****?! Are some of you seriously Star Wars fans? We've known for forever and a day that this film would be the darkest and most disturbing of the saga...and here we are, at the zero hour, and some of you just can't handle just how dark and disturbing that it is. I mean, you've had 28 YEARS to come to grips with this...and yet you're still not prepared. Truly, truly baffling.

To make it balance, Mark should have wracked these kids with his lightsaber.

So what were you expecting to see as a demonstration of Anakin truly turning to evil? returning video tapes not rewound? Not tipping a waiter droid? Short sheeting Yoda?

What the hell have you been expecting? How do you think we're meant to buy that little kid from TPM as an officer slaughtering dictator?

Don't go see the film then, just don't cry to us about it either.

It's not good entertainment.

The question that is just begging to be asked: You think seeing grown men and women being murdered is good entertainment?

I don't think anyone views the killing of men, women or children as "joyous delight". Entertainment doesn't equate to that. Tragedy is also entertainment. It is tragic entertainment.

That is why the theatric icon shows two masks- one smiling; one frowning.

TrueJedi, we know your feelings. Read italics!

I did. It's like I've already scene it from the description. This problem doesn't seem to put off anyone else talking about God knows what throughout this forum.

Chill out, you're losing it. Like I said, I'm still going to see the film, I'm just glad I was warned about this scene in advance.

The sick part about Anakins first child-slaughter was the fact that the children who approached him for guidence were picked for deliberate cuteness. Theyre really young. The little guy has a cute accent and ask Master Anakin what they should do. The people behind me ( a women mostly ) expressed distate for this with sighing, gasps, and "oh my god"s. I think that was the worst of it. The children lying dead had no signs of injuries and Lucas son goes down kickin @$$ before hes shot.

Have any of the critics mentioned this scene in their reviews? I'm surprised that this hasn't generated a good amount of consternation.

<<Lucas son goes down kickin @$$ before hes shot.>>

Though, it went by too fast. I needed an extra few seconds to enjoy it. Hopefully, during my second viewing, I will get that. The movie just moves by at such a fast pace that I may need to see it 5 or 6 times on Thursday. wink
