"And who said that you should shoot every German male? What kind of crazy statement is that? You only shoot those that are trying to shoot you."
Ok, so you're workin on the pretense of self-defense? So you're saying that if men kill in self defense, they are no longer innocent. But if a child picks up his dad's gun and shoots their attacker, he is still innocent? Or the wife? This makes no sense, man... We don't live in the 50's anymore... "women & children first!" doesn't apply nearly as much as it used to.. Hell, technically you could argue that the boys from Columbine were still children, but I don't think there's a person on earth who would say they were "innocent"

It's hard to consider the younglings mere children. I consider them below the level of Jedi but on the level of a Stormtrooper at least on a deadliness level.
It doesn't mean that I think they were right to kill them. It was logical to kill them.
But it was wrong.
Very, very wrong.

Only in one-on-one combat. I mean, 5-6 younglings against a batallion of clone troopers? That's just slaughter.

look the thing is, I saw the film at the star wars marathon yesterday and Anakin killing the younglings is definitely ******* shocking, I mean the whole cinema filled with gasps. The thing you to remember life at this point has no meaning for Anakin, he has become so totally destroyed and manipulated by Palpatine that he will do ANYTHING to get the power he needs to save Padme.
It all ties in perfectly with his redemption, when Luke cannot be turned like Anakin, Palps trys to kill him. It is at this point Anakin is released from the spell put on him by Sidious. You have to remember Palps is virtually Anakins father, this makes his seduction all the easier.
yes it is horrible, but IMO it had to happen, everyone had to go, that is the story to be told. yes it is ******* evil.......but it makes the redemption even more powerful. The OT hqas been given a new lease of life with this film, it is a asterpiece

And where were you people bemoaning the youngling slaughter scenes when AOTC came out and Anakin murdered the defenseless women and children in the Tusken camp?
Did you cry foul on Lucas then? Did you call him a "disgusting man" then?

Remember everybody to Anakin and the sith at least, they're jedi first, children second.

I think it is a bit different, they are virtually animals and were duly killed like animals for murdering his mother. Anyway I am sure if we had actually SEEN the young Tuskens it would have bought a whole new dynamic to the scene. i mean when you see the youngling looking so helpless, looking at his jedi hero for guidance.....man it is brutal stuff. I commend Lucas for his bravey, it def upset a few people in the cinema.
I also commend the brave little ****** who steamed out and took out about 5 Clone troopers to save bail. ****** legend......

Darth Vader was the second most evil being in the galaxy, next to Palpatine. Slaughtering kids is something that shows just how evil Vader really was, and it adds a whole new meaning when he is eventually redeemed.

Iguess im the only one looking forward to this scene. We need to see the tragedy of anakin's fall. That he cares for no one, not even little kids who idolize him. It shows he has no remorse and sets up his ability to kill his mentor Obi Wan.

Its not that bad. The implications are far worse than what you see. Anakin burning up is the strongest thing going.

You're not the only one looking forward to it. To quote Harrison Ford, "give a little weight to this thing."

For better orf worse I think it's a scene where people feel there is no way Anakin can be redeemed. If you watch them in order that is.

How does the Jedi Temple scene play out? Do we even see Anakin skill anyone, or just ignite his lightsaber when one of the younglings comes out to ask him something?

I'm looking forward to it. Depending on how it plays out, it may be one of my favorite scenes from the film.
