Either that or Lucas has just disregarded the EU (once again)

No it's not a bad thing, but if the EU is going to be "disregarded" at the drop of a dime then why have it in the first place?

All it does is contradict the movies anyway frustrated

Lucas never confirms or denies it in the film. Initially, he confirmed it by having Palpatine tell Anakin that he was his Master. Lucas left it ambigious, but if you watch Ian's expressions, you can see a smug look on his face.

There are no contradictions anywhere in the EU.

Sids was Plagus' apprentice. When he said that he was a Sith legend that was true because there really are like only 3 Sith alive and all of them probably know about the story. Plagus was not known about by any of the Jedi order because he kept a low profile and was focused on just mastering the dark side and gaining knowledge and power.

Did you guys notice that the emperor had his hand above anikan after the battle with obi wan. I think he was performing the technique with the mid chlorians. Or else he would of died right then and there and since he had the most charted mid chlorians ever it would be easier for him to survive.

I think that this is highly likely. My reason for this is that after hearing the story, you see how that is played out in RoTJ when Vader throws him into the reactor shaft. It makes a nice connection between the two trilogies.

Where did he say that? I've always heard him say the Sith Order was started by a rogue Jedi, which conforms to what the EU says, BTW.

Yes I know, but recently (sometime before last Christmas I believe) Lucas said (during an interview) that the Sith were around before the jedi and that they had control of the galaxy until the jedi came along and wiped them out.

And this story completely goes against what the EU "was allowed" to produce.

R8tHitman -- Great posts. You are concise in making the issues very obvious. This is something that Anakin could easily confirm. Again, any confrimation of Plagueis means he is indeed over 1,000 years old. Meaning, palps is really old.

Why did the Sith take 1,000 years off? Assuming Plagueis is still alive after all (and thus, the Jedi were wrong when they said this in TPM) why did the Sith become so quiet that they were thought to be extinct? The Sith have so much cloaking ability what would make the Jedi think they were extinct in the first place? None of this really makes any sense.

Neither PLagueis nor Sidious have lived even near 1000 years, at most they lived 200 or 150.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!
Boba Lives!
Mace Lives! (coming soon)

And R8hitman, this explains why the EU is there. It's kind of like a multiversal view of the GFFA. The EU is kind of like the "Twilight Zone" of the GFFA.

“There are two worlds here,” explained Lucas. “There’s my world, which is the movies, and there’s this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe – the licensing world of the books, games and comic books. They don’t intrude on my world, which is a select period of time, [but] they do intrude in between the movies. I don’t get too involved in the parallel universe.”

Cinescape interview, 2002

Thankyou.

I was wondering when somebody was going to "thoroughly think this thing through".

Most people arent even really trying to understand what I'm saying, they just blurt out an answer.

But like you said, this is something that Anakin could have easily confirmed.

Why would Sidious tell him an "outright lie" that could very easily get debunked and then send him on his way hoping to one day gain his trust.
