Yes it is. I listened to the commentary again today and those were Lucas' words.

This may not be the right place to ask but I have a question. Well when Obi-Wan and Anakin are fighting Dooku why does Palpatine give that disturbed look? I mean, Is he nervous about something?

I personally think Palpatine was worried that Anakin would make it out alive...

But doesn't Palpatine want Anakin alive in order to taint him to the Dark? Or are you refering to Obi-Wan. Or perhaps Palpatine was nervous that Dooku was going to die in vain.

I think that Palpatine was nervous because at the time Lucas drops that shot in, Dooku was handling the Jedi pretty well by himself.

It seems so weird to me that we'd ever have to put a Spoiler Warning anywhere in this Forum. I guess I still think of it as the 3SA. sad

Well, the mods shut down the thread I created rolling_eyes so I guess we'll have to talk about this amongst all the other posts of "Mace was wrong in killing Palpatine".

Lucas basically said that Palpatine KNEW how to cheat death but didn't want to tell Anakin right away. Do you know what this means? It means that Palpatine proablably was REALLY old and that it was his true face bubbling to the surface (as he told McDermid). It means that Palpatine wanted Luke to kill Vader because he wanted a younger stronger apprentice and because he wasn't anywhere near close to dying of natural causes. It means that when Palpatine said "To cheat death is a power only one has achieved" that he wasn't talking about Plagues at all but about himself. Plagues may not have known how to cheat death at all and may have been a fictional character Palpatine created for the sole purpose of introducing the Sith to Anakin in a non-forward way. Kind of like saying "I've got this friend and he has this problem with stealing" when you're actually talking about yourself. Lucas's comment of the interpretation of Palpatine's comment to Anakin about cheating death by meaning "OK I'll tell you..." changes a LOT of things.

Sand-Crawler, that's a very very interesting idea....I'm not sure if it comes across in the film that well though. I love the analysis though.

Sand-Crawler, we have to keep it contained here if it's a spoiler per Sapient.

I think what Mace was doing is right. Intensions are what matters, Anakin's intensions are to save Padme and selfish. Mace knows that by letting Palps go, Palps would walk away scott free. The Sith had to be destroyed. Mace was correct. Anakin was wrong, he wanted to keep the Sith and evil alive. There is no gray.

No problemo. As Roland said, it's tough to think of this forum as a "spoiler free" forum after the 3SA.

Two seductions scenes. Opera is one of them. Its an un-star wars like scene - Lucas

RM - creepy scene. Essential information in terms of ANAKINS ORIGINS!

WAAAA! That's a big piece of information! What does that mean? Sidious created Anakin? Plagueis created Anakin? Wow.
