I'm about 80% through the commentary. Anakin's on the balcony right now on Mustafar and Lucas just commented on the tear part. Best part of the commentary so far. He basically says that Anakin knows he's wrong but he can't do anything about it. He said that it is here that Anakin's path to the iron lung really starts here....very great part.

There was a lot more with Boga. Story got lost though.
Lucas mentions ‘hello there’ line.
Kenobi’s more ruthless side when he destroys droids.
Four armed Grievous was supposed to stay a secret before film release.
Very hard to shoot and choreograph fight between Kenobi and Grievous.
Most perverse shot - grievous like a scorpion getting onto bike.
GL loves SLJ in the scene where the clone speaks to mace and they discuss the chancellor. Very strong.
(shame GL doesn’t say anything else here - Master Shaitan!)

Also, Anakin did want Palpatine put on trial so he could basically get the information out of him while he was in jail. Windu forced Anakin's hand when he went to strike Palpatine. Anakin didn't know that Palpatine was going to take out Mace. Anakin didn't know that Palpatine was faking. Lucas' basic words.
Can I just say, "Hell, yes"?

Damned right the Jedi's fire has gone out of the universe. I was the bad-ass Class C extinguisher who snuffed them.

I must admit, there is a lot of reiterating what we are seeing onscreen.
Nothing really revealing, to be honest.
Supply problems and union disputes held up the construction of the Death Star for 20 years - LOL!

RE: DVD Commentary Rolling Report *May Contain Spoilers*
Mainly Knoll and MacCallum talking over Palpatine reveal scene with Anakin. (bring back burtt, bring back burtt!)
Lucas - Originally this is where Anakin is seduced and he became the Sith. In the end, he stays a Jedi and will turn him in. Gets more sucked into the idea of being a Sith lord and saving his wife. But too fast for him to become converted. Makes more sense that he stays loyal longer.
“It made a lot more sense to have him stay loyal to the Jedi which meant later on in this scene with the fight with mace we re-did that scene and at first there wasn’t the part where the emperor gives up, he goes - “You got me! You got me!”. It was basically the scene without that where it gets more intense and Anakin finally breaks down and saves him, but it didn’t have the same feeling as that pause in there where you think…and it makes the emperor a lot more slimy, it s really fun. it’s a dramatic thing to deal with“. - GL

Satan's not in a guitar pick, he's inside all of us.
In here, in your hearts.
He's what makes us not want to go to work, or exercise, or tell the truth.
He's that little voice in your mind that says "**** you" to the people you hate.

Overall, the commentary is pretty disapointing.
But I agree with
Jumpman
about what part is the best. Anakin's motivations, decisions, remorses, are clearly explained throughout the commentary.
So there is still good in that commentary.

RE: DVD Commentary Rolling Report *May Contain Spoilers*
Really, the problem with the commentary is the film itself. For me, everything is clearly explained so all I wanted to hear was a bit more explaination and that's basically what we got.
The film is so good, it distracts from the commentary really. You really don't need it. But, there are certain scenes I wanted to hear Lucas speak and I got what I wanted to hear(The Rumination Scene, The Turning Scene, Anakin's Dream, Vader on the Balcony on Mustafar, The Showdown between Anakin and Padme.)

RE: DVD Commentary Rolling Report *May Contain Spoilers*
So its confirmed that Anakin WAS crying on the balcony on Mustafar? Which most of us knew anyway, of course.
I reakon when there a 6 disk box set, we might get a Lucas only commentery on all the movies - they will need to do something differant to get people to buy the movies, afterall. I doubt this is the end of the story, with regards to hearing Lucas's views on key scenes.

I felt a great disturbance in the force. As if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror. Then were suddenly silenced.
