Lightning up Mace’s Skeleton. Sam Jackson wanted a spectacular death. Only thing he wanted, along with his purple saber. Got what he wanted. Just didn’t want to be killed in the dead of night. Laughs. - GL. In this sequence we lowered the emperors voice to make this transition stronger. Make it creepier. When he comes back and is looking weird, we wanted him to sound weird - GL. This is where he makes the pact with the devil. it’s a very Faustian act of trying to do something he shouldn’t be doing. HE WAS TRYING TO STOP MACE FROM KILLING PALPATINE WHICH IN ESSENCE WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO! - GL (So mace did do the wrong thing! or does it mean mace was doing the right thing???)

	He did realise Palpatine was going to kill him (mace). So up to that point he was trying to do the right thing but now he realising that with mace dead he’s crossed over the line and he sorta succumbs and says yes, I’ll do anything you ask so you can allow me to keep my wife alive. - GL

	Just to comment on what everyone else has(GiG), Lucas' comment about why it took the Death Star so long to be built is priceless. And it's official, the runtime of the film(without credit) is 2hrs 13minutes and 45seconds. 2 minutes shorter than the Episode II DVD cut. -----signature----- Twisted by the Dark Side, young Skywalker has become. 	Lucas is pretty clear on the commentary that Mace was wrong in this sense. Leave none alive or they will come back and get us - even the kids. - GL You have to get rid of all the Sith because there are two of them. “One of the issues in all of this is the bad guys think they’re good and Lord Sidious thinks he’s bringing peace to the galaxy because there is so much corruption and confusion and chaos going on and now he’s going to be able to straighten everything out which maybe true but the price the galaxy is going to have to pay for it is way too much” - GL Im suprised by that Sidious wanted peace comment! 	“The telling of this story of Anakin going into the Jedi temple and the other Jedi getting killed through the order 66 of the clones is just done as one of those kind of inevitable pay offs in terms of getting rid of everybody, the emperor is getting rid of all his enemies, but threre’s a certain inevitability of it all and a sadness to it. I was always worried in episode 2 that I was giving away too much in terms of people asking questions about where did the clones really come from. If you go back they mention the fact that lord Tyrannus and count Dooku are the same person and that Darth Tyrannus is the one that started the clones so if your paying attention its very easy to figure out what’s going to happen to the clones, if they will be the ones that will betray everybody. Tough to put in things like that without giving everything away” - GL
