I personally never understood why people think Plasmas are better than LCD's. Whenever I compare the two side by side (like in a shop) I find LCD's picture much clearer and better. Twice in my life I went out to buy a Plasma TV and on both occasions I came back with an LCD instead because it simply looked better. Plasmas are very poor at displaying blacks, they look grey instead. And the fact that an LCD has twice the lifespan of a Plasma is another reason (the gas in Plasma continuously depletes over time, therefore making the picture worse and worse as you keep watching).
But maybe that's just me.
My father bought an LCD recently and I must say that I'm not really impressed by the picture quality. So I'll stick to an old fashioned TV until technology improves... 
btw any news on ROTS sales numbers?
well I have wide 32inch SONY 100Hz TV, I am glad I have that one
but as I described I saw Pioneer 436XD in action , and I was very very happy to see that
black is black, and upscaler to HDTV resolution working very GOOD......

Once again, animated films dominated the list of top DVD sellers in 2005, with the Disney/Pixar feature The Incredibles, distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment, selling 17.38 million copies , making it the top-selling DVD of the year, according to Home Media Research. DreamWorks Animation's Madagascar and Shark Tale tied for third place with 10 million copies sold, while Warner's The Polar Express placed fifth with 8.13 units sold. All of those films were computer-animated, but Disney's reissue of the 55-year-old, hand-drawn Cinderella came in at No. 8 with 6.56 million copies sold.Also making the top-ten list was Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith, which came in second with 10.36 million units ; Universal's Meet the Fockers, ranked sixth, with 7.21 million units; Disney's National Treasure placed seventh with 7.2 million units; Universal's Ray took the ninth position with 6.53 million; and Batman Begins placed tenth with 6.15 million.

and ROTS was able to generate 17.3% of that in it's 8th week, impressive, BB did 9.4%

Hmm very hard question hmmm, only avaible info was that OPENIGN week data od 210mil
WW for EP3DVD+BATTLEFRONTgame hmm

I will predict that the ROTS DVD sold about 10-12 million units overseas....
Hmmm....I had hoped that ROTS would have sold as many DVDs as Spiderman (11 million)....maybe it can in the coming months.
I wonder how many more units that TPM,AOTC, and the SW trilogy have sold as well?

I am sure ROTS will go up to at least 12.5mil, to move to 6th position ALL TIME

here you can check, SW OT sold 73.3mil $, AOTC 20mil, TPM 17.4mil,
so AOTC and TMP added at least something more that 1mil UNITS to their TOTALS

Is there a thread that tracks how ROTS is doing in DVD rentals? I think that some people are holding back on purchasing ROTS because they plan on buying the box set of six when it comes out. I've already worn out my DVD of ROTS ( it sticks and pauses all the time now) so I'm ready for the box set. I think those who are holding out are renting it in the meantime.

rentals are around 44mil now......
