It's not in the film, but Bail tells Obi-wan and Yoda that he is loyal to the Jedi and the Old Republic. No matter what they hear in their self-imposed exile, he is and will always be working towards overthrowing Sidious. The Jedi and Bail have had a good working relationship dating back to the start of the Clone Wars. Just prior to the Battle Of Courscant, Bail visits the Council when Palpatine is making his latest proclimations (sp) in the Senate. And because he went out to find the two Jedi Masters, he proved his loyalty by not turning them in. Bail also had the means of forming a resistance. More so given that he would've told them that he and Padme had discussed that the last time they saw each other.
So Bail agreed to aid the Jedi and help start the Alliance.

Well this is actually a two part question:
1) Does Bail know Anakin is the father of the twins?
2) Does Bail know Anakin is Darth Vader?

Answer to number 2 - he finds out when Vader comes to Alderaan the first time. No one knows Anakin survived (except Qui-Gon) until about a month after ROTS, when Palpatine starts showing him off. One of this first assigments is to go to Alderaan to get Fang Zar. He almost runs smack dab into Queen Breha and baby Leia. At this moment, it suddenly falls into place for Bail. This is Anakin Skywalker.

Wasn't Fang Zar from Sern Prime??? What was he doing in Alderaan???

What were Mon Mothma, Crix Madine and Admiral Ackbar doing near Sullust in ROTJ when they are from Chandrila, Corellia and Mon Calamari respectively?
People do travel when they have "business" to attend to...

I'd really be jazzed if the TV series started off with this little episode -- then moving off to Tatooine to show Owen, Beru and baby Luke on the farm with Ben (perhaps a digital Ben) watching from the hills in the distance -- then to our little green friend making a new home on Dagobah -- all covering perhaps 5 - 10 minutes max.
Wherever the show goes from there is just fine with me -- but some degree of direct tie in to ROTS would be so very uber-kool!

Bail definitely knows that Anakin is the father. But I think he believes Anakin is dead because that's what Obi-Wan believed happened.

Fang Zar is on the run because of his involvement in the Delegation of 2000. Since Fang and Bail are allies, this is why he's there.

He believes Anakin dead as of the end of ROTS. It's only a month or so afterwards that he finds out that Anakin is Darth Vader. The same time Obi-Wan finds out that Anakin lived.

Books 1 and 2 of The Last of the Jedi series are out already. According to the story, Obi-wan believed Anakin to be dead until he started hearing stories of the Emperor's new right-hand man becoming the scourge of the galaxy and he knew Anakin survived. Nothing more than that really.
