If you could take over the temple that easy, why couldnt Sidious or Dooku have sent a ton of droids there?

Because a clone is worth ten droids about.
We've seen Jedi of all types beating battle droids in ten to one battles at times.
Clones = better than droids. This has been shown and explained.

It's explained a bit better in the novelization, Obi-wan and Yoda sneak around the Temple. They don't go directly up to the Stormtroopers and fight every single one. They took out the ones that were guarding the front gate, which both Jedi Masters were capable of taking out. Once inside, they covertly made their way to the beacon room and made the switch. Occassionaly they would take out a few Stormtroopers here and there, based on their inability to get around them.

Most of the Jedi that were in the Temple were Padawans. Only a few Knights and Masters were there. And between a battalion of Stormtroopers and a Sith Lord, they were unable to hold the line. The element of surprise was on their side. Obi-wan and Yoda faced far fewer Stormtroopers in front of the Temple. One Jedi is worth 100 warriors.

Oh and also (dealing with Angus' question) the droids were the bad guys in the public eye. If the Separatists landed the number of droids neccessary to wipe out the temple onto Coruscant with no resistance from the military, yeah, a few eyebrows would raise.
The clones were the good guys and the Jedi were traitors. Therefore, you could just march a bunch who were already home for security up to the front gate and go to work.

Seeing the thousands of troops marching up the temple stairs must've been the stuff of legends to citizens who happened to see it.

All the Jedi Masters were off fighting the Wars. Even a lot of the Knights were as well. So basically the Temple was fully of Younglings, Students, Padawans, Some Knights, Instructors, and handful of Masters. The reason Obi-wan and Yoda beat the clones so easily was the most were at the Senate building and only a group remained at the temple. Really, the only reason they remains was they thought they could handle any returning Jedi.

Plus, you know, it Obi-wan and Yoda. I mean Obi-wan got off a planet filled with CLONES and DROIDS. That has to be some feat. Yoda is just Yoda, what can't he do.

There are a few things.

1. As stated before, yoda said "if a special senate session there is, easier it will be to enter the jedi temple"

2. Everyone in the temple was killed and they probably only needed to guard a couple main doors, not really needing that many clones at that point.

3. The jedi in the temple as said were relatively inexperienced, not to mention the clones had the chosen one with them at the time. which not only is an incredible force, but also at first must have caught them offguard . I am sure they all saw Anikin and figured he wasn't going to do anything at first.

4. They probably did have a sandwhich, this may be where Yoda learned how to make his infamous soup that Luke tries 20 years later.

Yep, exactly. Also Anakin knew the current layout of the temple and exactly where everyone would be.

They probably sensed something was wrong and saw Anakin Skywalker, hero of heroes, coming with a legion of troopers. Oh boy, something went wrong. The Chosen one is coming to get more Jedi backup to go along with his squad of troopers. Open the doors, quick. Anakin! What's happened!

Snap-Hiss

It was an odd time, but their ALLY was coming to the temple. Not Dooku and his droid army. Plus, the 4 greatest Jedi left on Coruscant were just killed.

The way that the novel leaves some parts of the raid open to interpretation is rather interesting. After the main fight, the clones were collecting corpses and checking them off against clone and Jedi rosters...sometimes, a squad of clones would hear a noise or see a shadow and go off to investigate. When they didn't come back, clones looking for them would find clone bodies stuffed in a closet...despite their training, some of the clones were beginning to think that the temple was haunted.

Now is it Obi Wan and Yoda that is doing all this, or was the novel leaving open the idea that another Jedi or two may have escaped as well, even if only for a short amount of time?

Obi-Wan and Yoda had to travel all the way from Polis Massa to Coruscant. Polis Massa is as in the Outer Rim as you can get. It would've taken them a good couple of days to get their. By that time, the 501st had cleared the Temple and had gone on to their normal duties. Chances are, only a platoon or two (a platoon is 36 men) were left in the Temple to deal with any Jedi that managed to get past the Imperial Navy and get onto Coruscant in the first place. Obi-Wan and Yoda seemed to be fighting off a dozen or so men. 12-18 men. Tops. No hard task for a pair of Council members. Just as sneaking past a patrol or two to get into the Temple was.

The simple answer is that the Clones had Darth Vader leading the way. There was no one inside the Jedi Temple capeable of fending of the Sith Lord at that point.

Also, Yoda and Obi-wan arrive days later when all that is left is a small group of guards outside the door. Easy pickings for two Jedi Masters.

Well I guess George should have shown Obi-Wan and Yoda sneaking about more than showing them taking on a bunch of Clones at the front gate.

Yoda does say that with a special meeting of Congress, it will be easier to enter the temple. But that doesn't really make any sense considering they're going there to reverse a signal that is telling Jedi to return to the Temple. If that's the trap, then there should be plenty of clones there to make sure the job is done. Not less because congress is meeting. If that's the case then how easy was it for Yoda to get to the Emperor later since apparently most of the clones are there.

It's not a big deal though. Yoda is THE Jedi Master in the audiences eyes so they can accept how he gets into places with relative ease.

I think the other issue here is that when the Clones turned, and when they raided the temple, they had the drop on the Jedi.
That very moment we see acted out by Ki-Adi Mundi is what gave the Clones the advantage: "Come on, my fine clone chums, we'll soon have this planet under our control, just-- hang on why are you pointing your blasters at me? Arrghh stop shooting at me! Ouch that hur---"

Likewise, for any Jedi who respond to the bogus signal: "Quick, Jedi are at the temple, they are calling us back to Coruscant.... Hi guys we-- aw crap, your a clone aren't you! I'm so stupi--" BLAM!!!

In Yoda and Obi's case - they are expecting Clones at the temple, and they know the Clones have turned. There is no element of surprise. In fact, Yoda and Obi have the element of surprise by knowing about the purge and the trap.

We shouldnt just assume the clones just walk up to the temple just cause thats all it shows in the movie, for all we know a Interceptor of fighter of some sort could have flew by and blasted away a few Jedi before the clones arrived leaving the surprised and now injured jedi now vulnerable thus an easy target.
