Perhaps it's better to ask: When will Mace die in Episode III?
Unless Lucas has revised this as well, the most powerful part of the story should be the duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin. A duel with a secondary character such as Windu after that fact would somewhat derail the structure of the film, unless Lucas is planning on making it a three hour epic.
It would probably be best if Mace die halfway through - and, frankly, death by the hands of any of the villains, including a squad of Clones, would be fitting. Those who claim it can't be Boba may be dissappointed. A well placed missile could remove Mace quite effectively.
I still contend, though, that to do this well, we would need two more films post-AOTC. I hope George proves me wrong.

Hey, I'm not hung up on the whole Boba killing Mace thing. To me it's a logical conclusion if it does happen. But if Mace gets taken down by someone else that's fine too. However, if somebody else does kill Mace I hope Lucas shows us Boba Fett doing something ruthless to establish the character. I know Boba is only a background character but it would be kind of a waste not to give us some depth into his past. Why else put Boba in the prequels in the first place if you won't do anything with him?

It would have to make the Mace/Jango clash nothing. It would have to make it seem like a walk in the park at the corner of bumstreet. Also, someone else such as Dooku or maybe others would have to be involved.

ya i just can't see Mace dying to Boba.....
i just can't see that...
i rather see Mace in a sabre fight then see him fight a Fett again even though it will be sweet to see Mace fight Jango.
Maybe Boba can be shooting blasts from the slave 1 while Mace fights Dooku or Vader..
that's as much a part as i see Boba having

In Episode III, the following things have to happen:
Mace must die
Anakin must duel Obi Wan (its basically a given)
Dooku must die
second and third would have to be through lightsaber fights, so my guess is that Mace is killed by a whole lot of SOMETHING (clone troopers, yadda yadda yadda) or perhaps Boba. Reason: Too many lightsaber duels would degenerate their "Wow!" factor and make the movie seem cramped. It would give the impression that Lucas thought "Oh sh*t! I better tie up all the loose ends I've left open for myself or selse I'm in deep water!"
I would hate if it Boba killed him. The character of Boba Fett is over rated and making him kill the second greatest Jedi Master would be a complete contradiction to his OT character. A character who was stupid and unable to get anything done effectively.
If Mace dies by Bobas hand, even if it is only Boba who delivers the final blow, would be cheap and cliche`.
Mace, in my honest opinion, will be killed by a legion of Clone troopers.

OK, my head says it should/would be Boba for the sake of continuation...........but for the sake of sheer fanboytasticness, as in, what we wanna see, Tag Team, Battle Royal MACE/YODA v VADER/SIDIOUS.
Four top exponents of there individual arts at the top of there game, going at it in a furious style, Force Lightning-Flying-Saber twirling-absolute mayhem. It could be after the OBI-Anakin fight when Obi is getting the twins to safety.
