Thus far, he has accomplished extraordinarily little, appears less than impressive in combat if we are to judge by the precedent set in TPM, and yet we read everyday from his fanboy legion that he is "uber cool" and the "baddest Jedi ever."
He's good - but he's not worth that much.

Boba will NOT kill him! He might try and kill him, but I doubt he ever succeeds!
Mace will most likely die letting Yoda, Obi and the children escape. It would be a great epic shot seeing from a birdseye view from the ship, Mace fighting off legions of Clone Troopers, and taking almost half of them down before finally going down himself.
Imagine Mace still swinging while hes on the ground, force pushing, swinging his saber and causing Imperial Death right until the final blow.
Now THAT would be great.

I'm gonna have to go with disentergration by Boba Fett. People that say thats dumb wont say that after they see AOTC. Jango kills at least 1 Jedi in the arena battle and since Mace decapitates him in front of his son, it's the only logical way for Lucas to finnish off Mace. Besides, I've been dying to know what Vader was talking about for 22 years!

the whole disintegrations line has been overplayed, hell boba coulda disentigrated anything.....I mean Im not gonna care that much if thats why Vader said that line anyway! That is just one line in the saga, you just dont have a character like Mace's die at the hands of a bounty hunter, Jango Fett never should have been out there fighting jedi like that, and Boba needs to take that from his death....I really really dont care to much about the line tie in, I want to see some action....not a stupid disentigration,

Ive been against Mace fighting Vader, but after hearing how Mace got screwed with his fight scene I want him to duel with Vader now. He should get the biggest fight possible. Maybe even 2 on 1 against Vader and the Emperor

Boba ain't gonna kill him, he'll die at the hands of 'the boy who could fly' Anakin...
It'll be the final act in his fall as the Jedi go down spectacularly in a blaze of glory...
Think about it, what would be a more fitting end for the second most prominent Jedi in the order, than an exhausting lightsaber battle that will require the entire range of his powers!
I swear if we don't see a saber on saber duel involving Mace and Anakin then it just won't be right. Uncle George should show us why Mace is so revered...
So, I guess I agree with the majority that it will be Anakin that dispatches Mace...

To more fully flesh out an earlier post in a different thread: one of the saga's overarching themes appears to be based on the observation that seemingly invincible entities are destroyed from within. We have seen (or will see) this happen with the destruction of the Old Republic (by the Senate), the Droid Control ship (by the Trade Federation), both Death Stars (by Tarkin and the Emperor) and the Sith (by Vader). One could conclude that Mr. Lucas means for this theme to apply to his galaxy's most powerful entity - the Jedi. In this case, the destroyer is the Jedi Council as personified by Mace Windu and Yoda. Their overconfidence leads them to commit the main body of the Jedi Order to the Arena battle. This is the great strategic error that leads to the Jedi downfall.
Yoda hints at the end of AOTC that he is vaguely aware of this error’s potential impact. They will both fully understand in Episode III. Mace will then sacrifice himself to preserve the hope that the Jedi may be reborn and Yoda will retire to Dagobah for this same reason.
Now, as to the who, how and where - Boba Fett, disintegration, space. Anti-climatic self-sacrifice. (Sorry, but Mr. Lucas did say you're not going to very much like Episode III.)
