	I love the theories here. I think it's fair to say Boba will be too young and inexperienced to kill the #2 jedi by himself. Lucas may have him "finishing off" Mace to add to the tragic tone of the movie and show the bad guys winning all over the place. I would favour Mace dying by sacrificing himself though. Clearly so far he is up to something shady and it's making him nervous. Maybe in the next one he will try to put things right (whatever it is). Personally I think he was the one who erased the Jedi records perhaps believing as a warrior that the clone army would benefit the Republic from an attack as the one that happened to Naboo. Then he saw that maybe the army wasn't a good thing if Palpatine was going to get his hands on it. Anyways Mace will die a hero rectifying his wrongs and sacrificing himself to save Yoda is my guess for now. Why Yoda? Because he does escape and someone must have helped him because the darkside surely knew he couldn't be a loose end (especially after he kicked Dooku's butt!). And Mace and Yoda are always together for at least 90% of the time. And they NEVER look at other council members but only at each other. 	If I may quote Bad Radio from this site: AOTC reveals how Jedi disappear He says: Last, I put forward that we’ve already been given the clues in AOTC and TESB that convey how George will explain the disappearing Jedi. In AOTC, Jango Fett encounters Mace Windu in the Geonosian arena. In this encounter, Jango is beaten by Windu, and presumably Boba Fett witnesses his father’s horrific death. Now consider Vader’s “no disintegrations” line from TESB and perhaps you can picture, as I can, a would-be scene from Episode III. I suspect that we’ll see Windu and Obi-Wan immersed in a confrontation with a turned Anakin and Boba Fett. (Boba Fett could be much older in Episode III because of his midi-chlorians. Once again, since midi-chlorians are based on mitochondria, despite the Kaminoans best efforts to prevent Boba from aging faster than normal, he will still experience accelerated aging. In reality, scientists believe that a side-effect of human cloning will be that a clone will age faster than normal. The reason for this is that mitochondria are thought to be primarily responsible for the aging process. It’s believed that the mitochondria in a clone will act on the already “aged” DNA from the template donor and cause the clone to age extremely fast.) The way I see it, this is a trap organized by Vader, and Fett will see it as an opportunity to exact revenge on the two Jedi that plagued his father and will be enough of a distraction to allow Vader to gain the upper hand. As usual, the Jedi’s opponents will divide and conquer, and Vader and Boba will take the most powerful Jedi, Windu, out of the equation first. Vader will most likely render Windu helpless (use your imagination—missing appendages, etc.), and Fett will proceed to snuff the Jedi Master out for good. Only we’ll catch of glimpse of Windu meditating and then disappearing under the hail of firepower from Boba—it will look as if he was disintegrated! Just as Yoda and Ben vanished, so will Mace, but in this instance, Obi-Wan will be the one who benefits from Windu’s sacrifice. Furthermore, Obi-Wan will use his newfound powers to first drive off Fett, and then to best Anakin in a swordfight and leave him for dead. I think this is pretty consistent...I think SLJ will only agree to "go out" if he does it as a "sacrifice" for the good of the force...I think he may have said this in a couple of interviews two months ago. 	I am still leaning towards the idea that he actually survives. (just my opinion) Too many people expect him to die. I like the alderaan explosion death that somebody mentioned here once before. It would explain the disturbance in the force that Obi-Wan felt. And the weird look on his face. 	I agree with Sam. I hope Ani kills him (Maybe with Boba's help, though i doubt he'd need it). And i have a feeling at the end of eppy III Obi-wan and Yoda will be the only jedi left alive. Why leave Mace Windu's fate up to some EU hack? -----signature----- "Begun this Clone War has..."

	The only one powerful enough is Vader, but I'm afraid it will be Boba. Maybe Mace will be the true father of Luke and Leia, they look like him anyway.

	greetings from austria !! (please forgive me, my english is not very good! hope u can understand what i wrote!) now i try to explain what i`m thinking how it could be: there`s a mindblowing lightsaberfight going on between anakin, dooku and mace. (at this moment, mace is one of the last jedi already!)mace is fighting dooku almost alone; anakin is in the background maybe to help mace but only if he wants it cause mace thinks he will win the fight against dooku of course! while the fight goes on , mace is almost subject to darth tyrannus and lies on the floor. tyrannus talks to anakin: "now you can see the dark side will succeed at last!! kill him, anakin and set the seal on the dark side in you!" but anakin, to the surprise of all, kills dooku with some really good fighting action because of his advancement on the dark side and (a little advantage) cause of a confused dooku, who thought anakin was on his side already. so he killed two birds with one stone --> 1. the revenge for his lost arm (ep2) 2. to pave the way to get palpatines pupil! anakin (now face to face with mace): "i`ve done what obi-wan and yoda couldn`t do, now i`m even stronger than you! and you rejected me as a padawan ! now you are broken and your end is near!" mace answered: "i know, but you`re not able to succeed because i`m already gone" --> and for the first time in the PT we see a wise jedi vanishing like yoda did in ep6 !!! but that shouldn`t be the last scene with mace --> let`s see further: at the final fight between obi-wan and anakin in ep3, i read in the "unofficial star wars encyclopedia" here, that anakin is going to fall in a lavapit !? but how? here`s my opinion: although it`s going to be a long, never seen final fight, but it comes out that obi-wan isn`t as good with the lightsaber as anakin. but in an awkward moment for anakin, mace windu is back (!!!) and appears as bluish shining ghost to him. maces ghost: "anakin !!! the dark force veils your true ego !!!" anakin couldn`t believe what he is seeing. obi-wan kenobi took his chance on anakins unthoughtful moment and cut off his whole arm (mace shouldn`t be visible to obi-wan! - how???) and with a "force-effect" obi-wan pushed him near the edge of the lavapit so anakin couldn`t keep his balance and is falling down.....(but as you can see in the "unofficial SW encyclopedia" obi-wan saved anakin from dying in the lava and got him out !) this sad event could make sense because ben doesn`t tell luke the truth about the confrontation between them about 20 jears ago when they met in ben kenobis hut on tatooine (ep4)!!! what do you (american SW-fans) think about my little confusing "doubleagent" theory ??? wouldn`t that be a great ending for mace windu that samuel l. jackson likes to have ??? he would be the first jedi ever who vanishes and comes back as a being fully made out of pure force !!! he gave us some hints already !!

	Mace better not be killed by Boba...I mean, it would make sense, but Boba got owned by a blind Han Salo and a shackled Luke Skywalker...I'm hoping if he does get killed, it's honorable, along the lines of him sacrificing himself for Yoda, Obi Wan, and Padme + the kids...Maybe he'd have a nice battle scene with Anakin or Dooku...
