	I don't know when you think GL is going to have time putting this into the script. 	I don't remember a SW movie where C3PO doesn't lose one part or another. I don't think when he gets his golden plating (in between movies?) they will forget his leg. He'll probably lose a leg and the replacement will be silver.

	I think the droids will have their memorys wiped, c3po completly and a2d2 partualy. He will retain knowledge of certain worlds but not people. remember when the two first arrived on tataween, 3po ask artoo why go off in that direction and after a few beeps he states what makes you think there are settlements over that way. It would imply he still retains map directions of the planet! 	Here's what I think about the memory wipes: the droids are witness to something horrific, traumatic (seeing someone die/killed -- by Anakin?). Some point after that, they get their memory wiped, but for a very practical reason -- because there neeeds to be a secret kept (where the twins are sent) but the dramatic subtext of this is that the droids will be spared the anguish of that traumatic memory, because it really @*!#s them up. I think it might be a better set-up if 3PO is the one who gets wiped, and not R2. R2 has a solid head on his shoulders, can keep a secret, and deal with the trauma. 3PO would most certainly have a breakdown and would need the lobotmy to stop from coming apart at the joints as per usual.

	Wow, thank you GS for making this an Official Thread Interesting theory, Bart-O-Lounger Well, Lucas has confirmed that the droids are going to have a memory wipe, but I think that they will have more an expanded role than in AOTC. True. They didn't really have much to do with the storyline in AOTC as they did, in say the OT. They should have more of something in Episode III, maybe something to do with Anakin's Changing, the Death of Padme or something to do with the Jedi? -----signature----- Obama/Biden. . 	Don;t know if this has been speculated yet but I think Darth Vader wipes their memory, because they know that Anakin is Vader. I am not sure how, but they find out or witness it or something and Vader wipes their memory so that they can't tell anybody about it. R2 doesn't get his memory completely erased, since he knows where Obi-Wan lives, as well the fact we don't know what other data lives inside that cool droid. I think either Obi Wan, Yoda, maybe Mace Windu at his last or even Padmé will wipe R2-D2's to keep the Twins safe, and possibly even Obi Wan. Now C3-PO on the other hand, probably has his erased completely, just because he doesn't remember anything, as wstraka5 has pointed out. I some how don't think that Yoda or Mace will do the wiping, though Yoda does seem to have "disagreements" with a certain blue droid.
