Happy Independence Day! I hope every one of our pitiful little band is having a great time with family and friends and take a moment to think of those that have fought and are fighting for our freedom.

I was off at Kings Dominion. The 4th of July is a GREAT time to go, the park is pretty empty (this is the 3rd year out of the last 5 we went there on the 4th, the other two times we went to Busch Gardens) and you can just walk right onto most of the rides or get on in like 5 to 10 minutes. We only waited longer than that for one ride, the Volcano, and even that was only like 25 minutes in the peak time of day. We got on the Hypersonic in like 5 minutes, that ride is awesome. Elijah and I did our first real coaster together, The Italian Job Stunt Track!
The only issue is you end up with whiplash from riding so many coasters so quickly. All those wooden coasters there give you a beating, and you have little recovery time between rides.

That was the 2006 ride...this year they added the Tornado and 2 other Water rides in the Waterworks area

We had friends & family over for steaks & beer. Then watched the county's fireworks from my back porch. They popped off right at the top of the tree line. My sister & her family ditched me though so that they too went to Kings Dominion and then said they were too tired to come over later that evening. But, like you Joe, she said she & my Bro n law had a great time up there with it being easy on easy off for the rides.
