Hello all,

Here are some pics of the blasters that I have been making. The Jawa pistol is made from a pirate pistol (thanks to TK409.com for the idea). The E-11 is completely hand made from pvc, wood, plastic, and aluminum. The only thing that I did not make was the scope mount(scope mount for a .22 bought at Walmart). I am working on a Han Solo blaster. I'll post pics when I am done. Thanks for looking and for any comments good or bad. Thanks again, Scott.

I think the blasters both look really good.

Knowing more about the E-11 than the Jawa blaster (Tony or Aimee!) I think there's a couple things I'll go into but on the whole you just need some weathering and dry brushing to make it really look like metal.

Which E-11 is this based on? It has the ROTJ scope with a small ANH detail on the side, hammer greeblies and the clips but it has an ANH/ESB Sterling barrel tip style, rails and scope mount. The scope rail for ROTJ should be solid and if it's for AHN then it should be lower and have the different scope. The barrel tip on ROTJ was the flatter less defined Canadian variant of the Sterling. The vent rails look off to. The shape should be more a a "T" shape plastic for ANH with the ends bent into the vent holes. For ROTJ it was "U" shaped metal rails riveted on.

These are total nit picks of course - great job!

Like Luke said, very cool. I have been toying with the idea of building an E-11 from PVC. I was also thinking of doing a DH-17.

Of course there are 20 other things I want to do too. rolling_eyes

Thats really cool. I give props to anybody who has the time and patience to research and build. Luke is one of the greatest guys in doing just that. After I put my stormtrooper together, I was pretty much done with building armor and props for a lloooonnnggg time. Your blaster looks good!

Hey, Thanks for the input. I was'nt really going for any particular movie version. I liked alot of the features from all the versions. I picked up three differant guns from WATTOS HOUSE OF ANTIQUES and made one workable gun from the three.HA HA. laugh I'd like to make more movie accurate blasters but it's hard to find really good photos of each version. Any help with photos would be great. praying

As you can see the Jawa blaster is not accurate at all. I got the idea from tk409.com he has some fantastic costumes and ideas. I mainly made these for a movie room for myself. I try to make them with as little cost to me as possible. The E-11 cost about $20 to $25 dollars to make and the Jawa blaster cost about $12 to $15 dollars. If you look at the E-11 pics close you can see that the cooling fins are from my X-wings wiper blades and the scope dials are made from toothpaste caps cut down. Little things like that save alot of money and you get a pretty decent looking gun. If anybody would like to build thier own blasters and have any questions please ask. Thats what I like about this Richmond forum is that you guys and gals are not about total accurate costumes and that you all just want to get together and have fun. Thank you again for letting me be apart of this group and I look forward to meeting everyone in the future. Scott[ dancing

They both look great. My only suggestion would be is to try to get the firing mech on the jawa blaster to look a little less piratey. The E-11 looks awesome, great job!

partsofsw.com is a great resource.

My wife, Aimee (UtinniGirl) has an Jawa Ion Blaster from UniqueCanes.com. Very accurate, but a little pricey - it was a gift from my parents for christmas.

Dude - I thought I was going to be escorted out of the airport for yelling at the idiot security guard!!!

Worse part was - they wouldn't let it in my checked baggage (under the plane), but they let mw walk around with in the lobby until someone came to pick it up... doh!
