From the Garrison Tyranus forums. 501st and Rebel Legion will be in attendance. You do not have to be in costume to come out and show your support! So please come on out!
What: Fredericksburg Relay for Life!

When: May 17th, 2008. 5pm 5/17 to 7am 5/18!

Where: John Lee Pratt Park, 120 River Road Uninc Stafford, (Fredericksburg), VA

EDIT: Spoke with Brian again, and its the same deal as last year! He suggests getting to the park around 4pm in order to suit up.

There will be food and drinks provided.

There will be free parking. Just tell them at the gate you are with The Cancer Center of Virginia.

We will have changing and gear space like last year.

Camping is allowed! In fact its encouraged! Brian said that is what thier tent is for. They will have two "spaces" and may get a third space. There will be a breakfast in the morning!
Patton's note: (You may wish to bring your own camping gear just in case for privacy and the like!)

Directions: Easiest is to Google the following and use Google Maps:

John Lee Pratt Memorial Park, Fredericksburg, VA

Hope to see you there!

Hi everyone! Wanted to go ahead and get this out to everybody.

I received a message once again from Brian Monzon at the Cancer Center of Virginia.

He was wondering if we would like to headline with them at their tent again this year for the Fredericksburg Relay for Life!

Last year we were apparently quite the hit for those of you who made it down for this worthy cause! ( I wish I could have been with you but we were birthing David at the time!)

I have placed a call back to get all the details about times and exact location and will post those as soon as I know!

As many of you may remember, Brian was one of the technicians that administered my radiation therapy for my own cancer, so this event is very literally close to home for me! This year it will take place on David's first birthday, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than by doing this event!

So please mark this down on your calendars!
Thanks guys! grin
My mom, a breast cancer survivor, and my dad, has malenoma (i.e. skin cancer) are team leaders and do the Relay for Life every year. I was there last year and was thrilled to see the 501st there! As did my son and daughter. We'll be there again this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Hey Scott, I don't think they had a Vader last year. wink

It certainly will be a great time. I was there last year as a Stormie and plan on bringing my ROTS Airborne this year. It would be REALLY cool if you guys and gals around Fredericksburg could come to this. We cookout, walk, make friends and raise awareness. It's a fun family event. Seriously, put it on your calendars! Largest gathering is usually in the late afternoon/early evening.

I'd love to go, and I will unless something comes up.

But the strength of her heart.

Just bumping this up as a reminder. It's only a couple weeks away. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

If anyone is interested, I'll have my SW Minis there to play. Of course, I'll have to take time to break awy from my reading of Legacy of the Force #9: Invinicible (out on the 13th...yes, I'm a slow reader, but I'll be completely spoiled by then anyway)

I'll be there also. I won't have my Vader done by then so I will go as me instead.

Unfortunately I cannot make this as much as I had wanted to. I had alotta fun at the one last year and this one's looking to be just as good. Alas, I'm selling heavy equipment insurance at the fairgrounds that day for the Logging Expo. You all should go to this Fredericksburg event if you can. Alot of kids out there who love Star Wars!
