Actually this is more or less what Joe was talking about...We have been going over it on AIM.
Do you still want the colors or do you want something in B&W for the shirts?

The hybrid looks BA. What about cleaning it up a little and completely merging the two emblems? Here's a stab:

The T-shirt designs came up for discussion at the last meeting. Everyone agreed the current designs scream too much 501st / Rebel Legion. Those symbols to us mean a lot, but to the casual Star Wars fan...not so much. They are not well known symbols, and had very very little screen time.
Jean had the idea of how the ESB logo looked on certain merchandise (like below) and somehow incorporating Richmond Fanforce into that.
Going along with that idea (with the help of Ramiel (who made the below image) and Rollerboi of the RPF) here is what we came up with:
I prefer the second one, since it is how it was always displayed. Its simple and to the point.
What does everyone think?
Please be honest...and don't disagree with me just to add "spice" to the boards.

Left pocket logos are so corporate.
I say ditch the cog and bird and just have the Star Wars RFF logo on the front (centered).

I agree with Tony. Those symbols are very much a part of the 501st and Rebel Legion and despite many of the Richmond FanForce being a part of those organizations not all are and ideally the design we choose is about Star Wars and Richmond not those clubs.
I love those designs, they are true to a nostalgic spirit of Star Wars that is so what I think FanForce is about, please thank the RPF members that took the time to create them for us. I would love to have a simple shirt with that design clearly on the front or back, maybe even a slightly weathered look would be cool.
I'm not in favor of the 501st/Rebel legion amalgam and wouldn't bother buying that design.

I agree with Luke and Tony. The design that the ppl on the RPFs helped us with looks great and I would like to have a t-shirt with just that on it front or back. Luke made a good point that while most of us are in the rebel legion or the 501st not all of us are and that is why I disagree with the cog/bird symbol going on a t-shirt for fanforce.

Yep, having a true "FF" shirt instead of a combination of Rebel/Imperial is a better way to go. So...anyone got contacts to get this done in time for DragonCon, not to mention the Summer party in August?
(If possible...kid sizes would be cool too for our smaller future members)

I have a source that I use for the Rebel Legion since I am the RL Merchandising Assistant.
I am doing a run of shirts right now to be done in time for SDCC.
We would need 2 weeks production and then a week to have them mailed out to us. The minimum quantity for an order is 24 and then there is extra for the 2X up to 6X. If I could get an idea of how many shirts we were talking about I could get a basic quote, but I think that they shouldnt run any higher than $8.00 for the basic shirt and then add $2 for 2X, $3 for 3X, etc.
Getting them back in time for the party shouldnt be an issue.
Let me know what you would like to do and I will pursue it.
We can do the sale through Paypal or money order and then I would send everything off at one time for production.

No Hybrid? Bummer, I thought it perfectly summed up the saga and the wording of Richmond Fanforce summed up the people who like to talk about it. The new logo just being wording looks a little dull. No offense intended to anyone just my opinion. If that goes into production, I'll pass. Joel's done a great job regardless though. Good job man, its great you've got the skill to post our ideas and then have the connections to have it printed as well. Really cool for all who want it.

I would buy the ESB logo shirt only if we do the other logo also, as a seperate shirt.
If we are only talking about 10 bucks for each shirt, I say we get both. That way everyone is happy. I myself would buy 2 of each shirt. How many others would buy both shirts?

If we do a Black shirt with one color screen print with just the image on the front, the cost per shirt would run approx $8.00 up to XL. 2XL adds $2, 3XL adds $3.00, etc
If we were to do a single color shirt, IE. Black with one color on the front and back the shirts would run approx $11.00 with the same cost applying to the OVS shirts.
I can send them the logo and get a more accurate cost if you all want. Let me know how to proceed.
