Announcement - 3rd Annual Commonwealth Cantina Cookout in August

Alrighty...its that time again to start thinking about the Annual Commonwealth Cantina Cookout. This time around, Randy and I are taking on the task of where and when.
We would like at this point to try and decide on a date.
The 2 dates on the board that are available are August 2nd and August 9th. Both are Saturdays
We are going to be at Nags Head the following 2 Saturdays and then there is Dragon Con the last weekend in August, so it seemed the first 2 weekends would be the best bet.
We need to poll which Saturday works better for all. The one with the most votes over the next month will win out
We are also going to invite our buddies from Tyrannus as well as Freedom Base if everyone is ok with that?
Family, including Kids are invited as we have a huge back yard, a huge playroom for teh kids, Basketball hoop, deck and if it is nice and warm, we can break out the little pool for the kids. We will have outside stuff and inside stuff and of course if it rains we have room in the house. The only thing we dont have is any gaming consoles and if we are to do any games, we can work that our when the time comes. Maybe Tony and I will go for a repeat win with the Star Wars Lego competition. New members, old members, come on out and have a dang good time. And just as last year Tony will get thrown into the playroom with the kiddies.
We will be doing some sort of participation meal, as in you'll be bringing something, and we just haven't decided quite yet what that will be. I'll have the basic menu down and ready for sign-ups soon. If you all have any input you'd like to give, any food suggestions, any themes for this year's party, feel free to email me jsweb3@comcast.net.
Some possible theme ideas rolled over from the last time around are....
Mexican Fiesta
Traditional hamburgers and hotdogs
Luau...
Texas Style... lots of beef!
Straight up pot luck
and whatever else anyone would like to throw out.
If there are any Star Wars themes that we want to work with, let me know.
We live in the West End near Innsbrook and 295, and are accessible from Chesterfield and points south and west via 288 and 295, from Fredericksburg and points north via 295.
Looking forward to another great party and hoping we have a good turnout.

I'd like to put my vote in for August 9th.
(I may be out of town the last week in July..running in to August)
Anyway - Jean and I are down for this!
If we have a grill available, I have no problem at all to help out bringing dogs and burgers and assorted stuff to go with em. (bread, ketchup, etc.)
Just let us know!

The 9th is the only option for me as well. I got my littlest one's Bday on the 2nd. The 9th is open. I'm down in Myrtle Beach the weekend after and then its DCon! I missed this last year, I'd hate to miss it again. The standard burger & dog is fine with me but I'll eat anything as most know!

Well at this point it is sounding like August 9th is going to be the way to go.
If we can now start to get ideas for what we would all like to do in the way of theme or food stuff.
Once we get the theme settled we can put out the list of who is bringing what.
Also if we could get the list going of who is coming, tentatively, we can plan for the numbers.
Again, Fanforce, 501st and Rebel Legion members are invited, as well as spouses, girlfriends, boyfriends, kids and such.
So far the list is as follows:

Alrighty...its been about a month since the last post....
Have any ideas surfaced as to what some themes might be.
Old Fashioned BBQ on the grill is fine, unless someone has some other suggestions.
