Although we may not wish to stay up late August 18th. since we have the Seneca Lake Whale Watch the next day, the Astronomy Section of the Rochester Academy of Science will be having a Public Star Party in Northhampton Park from 9:15 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on that Friday.

On September 15th., they will be back to Mendon Ponds Park from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. for a Public Star Party too.

Directions are on their website. You don't need to bring your own telescope and it's free.

There is also a free public viewing of the club's telescope they maintain on the roof of the Strasenburg Planetarium. It's on Sat Aug 26th from 8:30pm-10:30pm.

Then as DarSolo mentioned the next Star Party is Fri, Sept 15th at Mendon Ponds Park starting from 8:30pm-10:30pm.
The next one after that is a Northhampton Park on Fri, Oct 13th from 7:30pm-9:30pm.

I was reminded by a couple different sources yesterday that there is a public Star Party tonight from 10pm-11pm over at Northhampton Park in Ogden.
If its too cloudy they'll be meeting again Saturday night same time, same park.
