NYC Comic Books Shows - Nov 06 & Feb 07

Today is when the guests for the next NY Comic Con are supposed to be announced.
Last year they had a top notch comic book creator list plus Milla Jovovich! I would have loved to have gotten my Fifth Element poster signed.
Also coming up Nov 17th-19th is Big Apple Con. We went a couple years ago when they had David Prowse, Jake Lloyd and Daniel Logan as the SW guests.

Just noticed some of the guests listed for NY Comic Con.
Stan Lee - even if you're not into comics you had to have heard of him.
Marc Silvestri - creator of Witchblade, Darkness and the current CEO of Top Cow
J.M. Straczynski - creator of Babylon 5
George Perez
Kevin Smith
Peter David
and a ton more.

Very Cool!
Last time I was at Big Apple Con's site they didn't have guests listed.
BAC is coming up too soon I think, but maybe we can see about the one in Feb.
Although there are way too many cons in 2007 that I want to do.

Stephen King has recently been added as a guest for NYC Comic Con in Feb.
The only SW guests listed so far are Peter Mayhew and Timothy Zahn.

Some of the bigger names for NYC comic con are Stan Lee, Wes Craven, Kevin Smith, Stephen King, Peter Mayhew, Ray Park, and Daniel Logan. Also, during one of the three days Stephen Colbert is supposed to show up and do a segment.

The con was great! I was able to see Kevin Smith do a speech, I got autographs from Stan Lee and Wes Craven, and I took pictures with Peter Mayhew, Ray Park, David Arquette, Gary Coleman, characters from "Who wants to be a superhero?", Walt Flannigan(from Kevin Smiths films), and Jason Mewes! Overall it was excellent, and it was good to catch up with Dean, who came down for the show. I should be back next week on spring break so hopefully we can get together and I can tell everyone about it.

The Con was absolutely awesome. Though we got kinda sick of one another sometimes (especially while driving), it was a smash! We had a blast hanging with the local 501st contingents as well as Carida and the northeast RL groups (all great people). We did some super sightseeing, including Times Square (and the Subway trip to and fro) Sunday night, complete with dinner at Planet Hollywood during the Oscars, and capped off Monday morning with a somber visit to Ground Zero.
At the Con we had, like, full access to the facility; didn't have to wait in any lines to get in; saw what we wanted to see; were treated like celebrities while in our costumes; ate for free 'cuz we volunteered, and got re-imbursed in full for the Con Weekend Pass for the same reason.
I personally grabbed all the free swag I could; posed for more pictures than I can tell you; got to meet Peter Mayhew... finally! (see pic in album: link below); debuted my Obi-Wan Episode Three outfit on Friday (also in album below); won second place in the Costume Contest on Saturday (in my Obi Ep.2 get-up); was told about a hundred times that "you look exactly like him", while in that same costume Saturday; got a great deal on the only missing link in my FX saber collection Sunday as the Con was wrapping up (an Obi Ep. 3 FX for $75... thanks Ryan!); had an impromptu date with a lovely 20-year old fellow costumer, and new friend... all in all, a completely awesome time. And of course, got to see Ron again, albeit briefly... sorry, bud.
