Star Wars Theme Night w/ the Red Wings - Sat July 7th

Garrison Excelsior would like to invite The Rebellion to join them for Star Wars Theme Night at Frontier Field for the Red Wings home game Saturday July 7th.
You can come as a patron or as a volunteer.
As a volunteer you can come in costume or not.
Volunteers need to be ready at 5:45pm and will receive parking (and probably admission passes) as well.
As I will need to submit a list of names for these passes, please make sure to post you're volunteering only if you're sure you're coming.

MadKidJedi is down as EIII Obi-Wan and with GE's Glitch will be kicking off the fireworks display with their lightsabers.
They've asked us to carpool where ever possible as they have a limited amount of VIP parking passes that they can offer us.
SWF-JPB - although your Endor Han would fit in better with the 1980s theme, you can stick with your ANH one if that's cooler. Also, I thought your b-day was on the 6th not 7th.

I will have to decide what I am going to wear. On one hand my Endor Han sucks without the Holster, but when I wear the coat it sort of makes up for it a little, but the weather could be pretty warm so maybe ANH will be better. Too bad we could not just all be ROTJ. Luke and Vader would be sweet, but Anakin and Obi Wan are just as cool. Oh well. I think I will try and tough it out and go with the theme. Maybe I can come up with some kind of cheap home made Holster by then, but I doubt it. If it turns out to be way to nasty out I'll just not wear the Jacket. At least I got the Endor vest.
Nope, its the 7th. I am lucky 7. 07-07-75 - 07-07-07 Pretty cool.

Jeff; I might be able to whip up something for you holster-wise before then. I made twin holsters in, like, an hour for Emily's Lara Croft outfit before... You can help by gathering up whatever reference photos you can find, and I will do a modest search...

That would be super cool. Thanks for any help. I will send you links. I do not know where to find any good vinyl. I could not find anything good in Joannes before. I would rather try and make my own out of vinyl rather then pay for it from Costumebay.

To the ENTIRE GROUP: Is Buffalo coming out to join us for this event? I heard a rumor... And apparently, the Duel has been reduced to a walk-on, correct? If so, I have a suggestion or two... for later
UPDATE: Jeff, I haven't had any time (yet) to dedicate to this project, and I don't want to whip up something cruddy. Still, I do have access to the sewing machine I still have on loan from my friend who lent it to me. So all hope for your holster is NOT lost. If you do have reference pix to send, pop them to my e-mail at madkidjedi@yahoo.com ASAP. I've got the visual dictionary from DK, and have seen a few pix online worth using, but show me what you've gathered, too.
As for vinyl... I've always had pretty decent luck at Joann's. Perhaps you're looking in the wrong place? Seperate from the fabric section, towards the back of the store (usually) is a section for upholstery materials; including all sorts of vinyl stock, many with leatherette-type finishes. I think we could probably turn up something in a low-gloss black vinyl to use. If not, there's always Fabrics and Findings here in the city, right around the corner from Village Gate Square. That's where I've found leatherette remnants which have worked perfectly for the last two sets of tabbards for my Anakin outfit. They also have got great stocks of vinyl on HUGE rolls, holding dozens of yards of the stuff. Cut what ya need. But probably not much is needed.... I created the Lara Croft double-holster for Em from scraps of material left over from my Ani-tabbards version 1.0 (remember the electrical tape version?... yeah, that's the stuff... actually worked great).
Anyway, my only hold-up is TIME, which is in short supply these days. But I haven't given up yet. If I do it right, this project may just turn out something great for ya, that might hold up for a while.
By the way: which blaster are you using? The Hasbro standard one, correct? Just need to know what to scale the actual holster part from. The belt is easy... I'll also need some measurements from you: primarily waist and upper leg, just above the right knee. E-mail me that info, along with any of those pix.

Invitations to the event were extended by Garrison Excelsior to members of Echo Base and The Rebellion. If other members of FanForce are interested in the event they can post here, but invitations were not specifically extended to neighboring chapters.
The duel was just one of a handful of suggestions on my part, it was up the the Red Wings to decide what they wanted to go with. Ultimiately the duel was not something they were looking to do. The current "skit" just involves Glitch and MadKidJedi "kicking off" the fireworks show with their lightsabers and then all other characters entering the field after them.
If you have other suggestions, now would be the time. As far as I can tell the Red Wings have locked this program in and there is no changing it as they have already coordinated the special effects and lighting for the field based on the current plan.

Captured Rebels being led by troopers. If we had enough of each it would be cool. Hands up or behind like we got binders on. A couple TK or Scouts parading us around. Maybe some other time. I can be captured.
