I tried this many months ago, at the SWG RPing fourms. I want to give it a try here.


Introduction:

It has been 4 ½ years since the Emperor’s destruction at the Battle of Endor. The New Republic has been created, and systems rush to join. The New Republic Senate under the watchful eye of Chief of State Mon Mothma, sits on the newly liberated Capital world of Coruscant. Most believe it is a matter of months until the final surrender of the splintered Empire. Yet, from the Shadows of the Empire rises a charismatic Chiss Grand Admiral named Mirtth’raw’nuruodo. Grand Admiral Thrawn unites the remnants of the Empire, under his leadership. Then when his plans are set, Thrawn drives for the Core, and the very heart of the New Republic.

The Empire takes victory after victory, pushing even closer to the Core with every one. It is decided that the New Republic Navy cannot win through pitched battles; old tactics are needed. Swift, and deadly strikes carried out by the elites of all three branches of the military are used. They hit where the enemy isn’t expecting it, that is the only way to victory. Yet, Rouge, and Wraith Squadrons, the Elites of New Republic Starfighter Command can’t hit every target there is. A new squadron is needed, one that will strike fear into the hearts of the enemy the way their predecessors do.

That squadron has been formed, it is known as Valkyrie Squadron.

Valkyrie Squadron, formed in the shadow of war. Given command of the Elite Squadron is Commander Edgew Sellitna, and to her New Republic Starfighter Command gathers the best 11 pilots under its command. Together with the rest of the Task Force, they will soon be behind enemy lines, fighting for their lives, and the life of the New Republic.


Rules:

1. No God-Modding, if you get yourself into a sticky situation. You have to get yourself out logically.
2. One Valkyrie pilot per person. You can have a Valkyrie Pilot, and a member of the NR Military that is listed.
3. No controlling enemy starships, or enemy personnel.You may control enemy starfighters.
4. No flames, etc.
5. Start posts with Characters name, ship they’re aboard, where the ship is. Here’s an example below.

6. Only the GM (Me) can call timeouts.
7. Have fun! Can’t stress this one enough, it’s the most important rule.[/b]

Communication Rules:

1. You must not have knowledge of events you weren't present for or told about.
2. While in your fighter craft declare which channel you Comlink is on when you talk, examples below.
--- Open: Everybody can hear you, including the enemy.
--- New Republic: All members of the New Republic can hear you.
--- Squadron: All members of Valkyrie Squadron can hear you.
--- Flight: The members of your "flight" can hear you.
--- Direct: Only one ship/person can hear you. Declare who the target is.

Brief Biography:

Born on Talus, in the Corellian System, Edgew led an average life. At the age of 13 he became interested in flight. He saved up money for a year, and took flying lessons. At the age of 16 while on a family vacation the Sellitna pleasure craft, had Ryll planted on it (work of smugglers), and destroyed by imperials. Miraculously Edgew escaped with little harm, yet his entire family was killed. He found, and killed the smugglers who planted the Ryll, on his family craft. Now wanted by Imperials Edgew fled to the Rebel Alliance, where he has remained since.

Born into poor family, on the planet of Raithal, Tren worked hard for everything he ever got. Worked hard at school, at the age of 18 was accepted into the Imperial Starfleet Academy on Raithal. Graduated top 1/3 of his class, and was assigned to bridge crew of The Star Destroyer Foe Hammer. Moved up the ranks onboard Foe Hammer for 7 years. Then was awarded the Rank of Captain, and given the ship Ord Mantell, a Corellian Crusier. For 3 years he commanded the task force, against his will. When the chance came, he, and his ships jumped to the Rebellion. He commanded his Task Force at Endor, and many other battles. Now he has been given command of the Task Force Valkyrie, and he knows that if he does a good job, the next captured Star Destroyer will be his.

Flight Officer on Rebel A-Wing flight Fox Squadron and later became First Lieutenant and later Commander of the X-Wing flight Wolf Pack. Has been flying since age 12 after refitting a worn out Z-95. Spent eighteen months in the Imperial Navy (ironically, in the same class as Han Solo) but defected when he realised the Imperial's motives. During that time, was able to learn significant weak points about the TIE series of fighters.
Brief Biography: Born at the beginning of the Imperial reign, Dex's Halicon's family was that of an extremely long line of Jedi Knights dating back to the first Jedi millenia ago. Even the lightsaber he weilds is reported to be thousands of years old and rumoured to of once been used by the fallen Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma.
His father Jonas was a Jedi Master who managed to escape the purges with his wife and son, moving them across the galaxy for years. As his son grew up, Jonas instilled in him the values of the Force and the beliefs of the Jedi, hoping that his son could help to bring the Knights back to their former glory. With his gentic heritage's strong Force sensitivity, Dex discovered he had a natural affinity for learning new skills and essentially flying - by the age of fourteen, he was a brilliant pilot and mechanic.
When Dex was fifteen, Jonas and his wife was killed in a fight with the Sith Lord Vader, who was a fallen Jedi unknown to much of the galaxy. Dex, vowing revenge, joined the Imperial Navy at sixteen to get close enough to Vader to kill him. When given his chance during a combat excercise Vader was supervising, the Dark Lord sensed his Force skill and sought to vanquish Dex. However, the wily Jedi-trained boy managed to defeat Vader in aerial combat, unknowing earning the Sith Lord's respect and escape, drifting for a couple of years, becoming somewhat dishevelled and vagrant taking on jobs as a hired gun, smuggler and bodygaurd.
However, when the fledgling Rebellion needed new pilots, Dex realised his calling and with his Force skills, he was easily able to earn several promotions. Whilst stationed on Hoth, he met similarly aged young man named Luke Skywalker and the two realised they were kindred by the Force. During the Battle of Endor, Dex was instrumental in the destruction of many TIE squadrons due to his intricate knowledge of the craft during his Imperial years, thereby able to identify their weaker points with ease.
After the fall of the Imperial Army, Dex participated in mop-up missions but was later reunited with Skywalker, where he learned more about his Jedi heritage and was able to give Skywalker some knowledge of the old Order through his father Jonas' diaries. They trained together for a short time, but ultimately went their seperate ways though keeping in touch over the years.
Dex decided he could do his best work with the NR flight squadrons, and Skwalker was able to give him a comission as a Jedi Envoy to the NR military and offered to train him should he ever open a Jedi Academy, something Dex is quite keen on should it come to pass.
Essentially, Dex is somewhat a mixture of old-Republic refinement and new Republic courage. His harsh life of running around has made his somewhat rough around the edges, but his inner dedication to the Jedi philosphy remains a key part to his personality. He is the potrait of what a Jedi would be if not raised by other Jedi, only given brief sliver of his true destiny. Despite his loner nature, Dex is a team player and fiercely dedicated to his fellow sqaudron members.
