Empress Kiera Callaghan Jello
Imperial Center

Arya did not look much like a princess as she sat playing with her doll and throwing it in the air, but Kiera knew there would be plenty of time for her to behave like a lady when she got older. It was naptime for Arya, and Kiera was hoping that reading to her would put her daughter to sleep. The book was so boring that she was putting herself to sleep, but Arya seemed resistant.

Finally the child’s eyes began to close, and she was asleep. Kiera’s comlink picked that time to start beeping. She wanted to smash the thing as Arya awoke, crying, but of course it was important. Everything was, nowadays.

“Shhh, Arya, don’t cry,” she soothed as she picked the girl up and carried her through the halls to her office. With Iaius away she didn’t want to leave their daughter alone with anyone, and tried to be with her as much as possible. So it was for that reason that she had a crying baby on her lap as she heard the transmission from Mon Mothma and read the message from the Emperor.

Seeing Mon Mothma, even if it was only a holo, was disturbing. She had been away for over a year, but she still felt a pang of guilt whenever she saw or heard of one of the Rebels she had known. And the tone Mon Mothma was using….well, what else should she expect from the leader of the Rebels? It would make anyone feel guilty. Nevertheless, she knew the Empire’s side of the story. She hadn’t wanted a war any more than anyone else, really, but what other options were there? And Mon Mothma wasn’t saying the whole story, either, which was annoying. There was a reason for going to Brentaal, and a reason for the present conflict, and as for the Empire being evil and deceptive…well, the rebels were no better, if they were spreading one-sided stories like this. In her time away from the rebellion she had begun to see that it was in some ways no better than the Empire. In fact, they could both burn and the galaxy would probably be better for it, but of course that wasn’t possible. And she had to hope the Empire would prevail now, for the sake of her family.

She turned the message off in frustration. There was going to be a war, and what could she do to stop it? Nothing. The best course of action was to accept that fact and move on to finding a solution that would end the conflict quickly. If I cannot prevent it, I accept it she repeated to herself. She had tried everything she could think of to make peace, but it hadn’t worked, so she would focus her attention on ending the war as soon as it could be ended.

Next she read the message from Iaius. So he was going to Mon Calamari. Splendid. She hadn’t feared for him at Brentaal, but at the capital of the rebellion? That was a different story. She wouldn’t bother him now, there was no need, but she hoped he would be all right.

“Your father sends his love, Arya,” Kiera whispered to her daughter as she kissed the baby’s forehead. Please watch out for yourself, Iaius, she thought. You must come back to us safely. We both love you very much.

IC as Sheen

The Admiral tapped in the last of the co-ordinates, controlling his fingers from shaking in anticipation. His face and posutre was calm and collected, yet his mind raced with endless thoughts. This would be, after all his first encounter of larger proportions in over a year. He had advised the captain he would be relaying the co-ordinates himself, a somewhat strange request, but a calming one to the Admirals nerves nontheless.

Duro, he thought, Can't hardly wait. It wasn't that Sheen was unconfident of the proceedings that were soon to commence, on the contrary - his men were highly capable, but the simple metaphor it provided for the path they lay ahead spoke it all.

Sheen could amlost smell the excitment that ran through the ship as he purposfully strode through. He knew his men were eager to battle, they had been deprived for a year of doing what they knew best. Things were about to change and it was about time.

He leaned back in his Admiral's chair, the starfield beyond him motionless. Sheen could almost see his mighty SSD lying proudly in the coldness of space, it's angular structure a true testament to the Empire's power. Soon, the stars began to move, until they were all but motionless. Just like an exicted kid in a Corellina amusement park, his smile grew more and more as the stars moved faster and faster. Soon it was nothing but a constant streak of white lines.

The time had arrived, and Sheen was ready to greet it with open arms.

OOC: And so it begins... mischief

Ah, this should be fun. grin

Personal Transport Freighter, Departing New Plympto

    Das Meynes

So it had come to this. Iaius was planning on attacking the New Republic's capital world of Mon Calamari, striking at the heart of their rebellion. Could he provide the Empire with a victory in that battle, the war might be over within a few days.

More than that, Admiral Sheen Ollet had apparently been ordered to move his fleet against Duro- an act that, though it would hurt the New Republic even more, Das knew would ruin his plans for the planet.

Well, ruin them or enhance them beyond belief, which is why he was heading there now- to secure that the latter would be true, not only to watch the destruction of the world first-hand, but also to talk with Sheen himself, and perhaps persuade him to give him temporary represenation duties of the planet, or at least giving the local Moff a nice recommendation about him. New Plympto and Duro were so close together, afterall, and if Das could get a hand in the other planet, he would be much more of a significant member within the Senate.

Besides, Das knew how mucho of an asset he could be to this battle- his meeting with the Duros planetary governor hadn't been for nothing. Das had requested a detailed map of the system beforehand, which the Governor had gladly given him- after a bit of influence by his palace gaurds, of course- and at the very least the meeting had given Das a beautiful insight into how the Duros would react in the fight, thus helping Sheen be able to plan the attack better.

And so he had set off, leaving New Plympto is his personal custom vessel, to arrive at Duro just before Ollet's forces, hoping to talk to the Admiral before he attacked. Not that the latter part mattered much- they woudl be going mainly after the floating cities, of which Das would have little use for if he was given senatorial duties of the world.

He decanted from hyperspace at the edge of the system nearly 30 minutes after he had left New Plympto, and immediately sent an encrypted message on all Imperial channels, alerting Ollet to his presence, and at the very least opening a window to discuss with him what he wanted to discuss. It didn't matter if the Rebels on Duro were montering those channels, if they could- the message was encrypted, for one thing, and Das was well-enough of a pilot to keep himself safe, at least until Sheen came.

And so he waited, eyes glued to his sensor screens, hands gripped on his controls, and ears open for a response...any response...

IC as General Hargroves

He sighed. He knew he'd be shot if he released the Assistant Director's location to anyone, but from the looks of Mevnin Thredos security clearance levels, he'd be shot if he didn't get him safely to the Assistant Director.

It left him at an impasse and-

Suddenly he noticed a new form up on his screen. Captain Mylenko was leaving immeadiately after being summoned to...
perfect.

"Agent Thredo, please hold position and prepare to dock with the Imperial Strike Cruiser to your starboard, Malice. The Captain there will take you to your destination."

Flicking off the comm he wired a transmission through to Mylenko, telling him of his new charge.

There...hopefully, hopefully he'd not get shot.

Which was always a good sign, always.

Coruscant System, Imperial Center

IC- Mevnin Thredo

"What, do you think I'm a civilian or something? I need transported to the location?"

Mevnin shrugged visibly, and shook his head.

"Fine. If you want someone else to drive me, so be it. But mark my words- if this Captain of yours doesn't get me there before the attack at Mon Cal, you're as good as fired, my friend. You have no idea what rests on the information I have with me right now. Thredo out."

Mevnin cut the transmission and maneuvered his vessel around to dock with the Strike Cruiser that the General had identified as the Malice.

He had meant what he had said to the General, too- if the Captain of this ship didn't go maximum speed, or made some mess up in direction, Mevnin would indeed file a complaint about it. A complaint that he knew wouldn't go unheard, what with what data he had.

Then they were off, into hyperspace, towards the Assistant Director, and perhaps towards a better life for all of the Empire...

Yag'dhul System, aboard Carrack Cruiser Distant Rover

"Sir, our initial scans of the system show no military activity. Vessels are moving in a standard pattern, inbound and outbound. No craft larger than a Corellian Corvette or Marauder Corvette." Grey Alpha's voice filtered through the bridge speakers.

"Good to hear Grey Alpha. You and Grey Bravo move into Yag'dhul's atmosphere by going around to the uninhabited side, where there will be no living being and then groundtrack, keeping under sensors to the outskirts of the main spaceport and report. Rover out."

Henry let out a sigh of relief. No major capital ships in system.

"Helm, bring us into a geostationary orbit around one of Yag'dhul's outer moons. Do it carefully, I don't want any of the freighters to know that an Imperial cruiser is lurking around the system."

Deck plates shuddered as the cruiser lurched into motion and moved to the outer moon. Simultaneously, two TIE/rc craft skirted around to the other side of the planet, currently with no atmosphere due to the planet's unique condition. Tidal forces were able to pull not only water, but the entire atmosphere.

The two TIE/rcs dropped silently into the atmosphere and began thier crawl to the spaceport.

Your ability to lead a fleet will be our decision to make. happy

The Starfleet trainer, Thok, will ensure that you are trained in gameplay as well as tested in your skills as a Starfleet officer. Once he has judged the training completed, he will give you the posting he deems suitable based on your performance.

In space, near Yag'Dhul

Grey Alpha and Grey Bravo moved into Yag'Dhul's atmosphere by going around to the uninhabited side, as ordered, where they groundtracked towards the planet's main spaceport. As they did so, the Distant Rover headed towards one of the planet's moons, which was where it waited.

The TIEs were several kilometres away from the spaceport when it happened. Also approaching the spaceport were the Corellian and Marauder Corvettes, the latter of which had opened fire. Turbolasers from the Marauder sent heated energy into the spaceport below, accompanied a few seconds later by laser-fire from the Corellian Corvette. They blasted the main structures of the spaceport, leaving them in ruin in a matter of moments.

In orbit of Yag'dhul's outer moon, aboard Distant Rover

Henry was sitting, contemplating his move on Yag'dhul when the call came through.

"Distant Rover, this is Grey Alpha"

"Rover here, are you in position?"

"Negative, those corvettes are hostiles, they're attacking the spaceport!"

"Rover acknowledges, maintain position and record sensor data."

I thought I would never be able to get this chance to win a system over, saving thier lives. Well there's a first for everything.

"Helm, bring us in toward the spaceport. All hands, red alert! Man your battlestations. Grey One and Two, you have a go. Escort Rover on the way in, then escort Alpha and Bravo to safe location."

The decks shuddered, and increased power drain caused the bridge lights to flicker for a moment as they raced, at full speed towards the beleaguered Yag'Dhul Spaceport.

Pirates most likely, Henry thought. iWhich meant that Yag'dhul possibly had no defence to mount against any attack.

"Weapons, aim to take out thier guns and engines, I'd like to take some prisoners. Maybe we can trace them back to the scum hole they came from."
