Pandath, Taanab Ulmar led his own group forward, heading toward Kappa group. Red group was assisted by Blue group, and White helped out Black group. The rest of the attacked groups also gathered assistance as the company fired on the aliens. The fields made it difficult for the stormtroopers to spot their attackers except when the enemy came close enough to attack. The bayonette charging alien pierced the armor of one stormtrooper from Gamma but was quickly gunned down by two others. Kappa, Blue, and Black were able to quickly take down their attackers before the other teams arrived. They each lost one man to bayonettes or grenades while Black lost two of their own.
Asteroid Field, Myrkr System The probot silently floated in the space between the many variously sized rocks, silently watching the planet Myrkr and listening for any transmissions coming from the planet meant for the probot. It observed ships coming and going, but paid attention mostly to those owned and used by Talon Karrde's smuggling ring. One in particular was tagged, the Wild Karrde, Karrde's personal freighter. If it received a message at the same time the smuggler's ship was seen leaving the system it would then contact its owners of what it saw.
Thane's Office - SSD Terror - Undisclosed Location With a glass of Corellian brandy in one hand and a datapad in the other, Gregory sat at his office desk in the bowels of the starships' command tower trying to relax while reading up on the projects' reports. So far everything was going smoothly with Project Dashade, the first tests would be completed sometime soon and he would learn if they succeeded or would need some more tinkering. The door chime to his office drew his attention away from a report on Operation Terror. "Enter." He simply said and returned his gaze back to the text displayed on the datapad. The door to his office slide open quickly with a hiss and Colonel Derricote stepped inside. Thane looked up once more to see what the scientist wanted. "Sir...there is a problem with the Dashade subjects." Derricote quickly informed, wasting no time on pleasantries or protocal. "What kind of a problem?" Thane sat the datapad on his desk along with his drink, as he turned the chair around so that he faced the Colonel. "Genetic deformaties mostly. We're trying to isolate the problem and remove them from the DNA sequence, but its going to put Operation Reinheit behind schedule." "By how long?" "Months at the least." Derricote regretfully said and handed the General a datacard with photographs of the subjects. Thane viewed the images on his datapad and grimaced at some of the deformaties. "Can the subjects still function properly despite the deformaties?" He asked. "We can test to see but we'll need a guinea pig to test on. Anyone you have in mind, sir?" "There is one on Wayland. But I want him still alive after the test." "Yes, sir." "If that is all..." Derricote understood the silent dismissal, saluted and left the General to the solidtude of his office. The military officer would send the test batch to Wayland and monitor personally to see how they faired against the subject. If the deformaties did not interfer too much in the test batch's ability to function properly, the Operation would continue on schedule. If not... Colonel Derricote knew that General Thane would not be happy in being delayed by several months.
Emperor Iaius I So, then it was done. The Bothan threat had been removed: Bothawui itself was in shambles. Iaius had avoided genocide and atrocity by sparing the Bothan people, but he had punished their treason and dealt with their threat accordingly. The Bothans might have been allowed to live, but their way of life was destroyed. Along Bothan space, their worlds were in shambles: all technology was destroyed by a devastating orbital bombardment of the likes that had not been seen since Vader’s forces punished Toprawa. It was just enough to destroy the very foundation of the Bothan spynet and cripple their race for decades. He had no doubt that some Bothans would seek revenge for this action: but many more would consider their own neck and that of their species before the Rebellion and choose to save themselves from additional Imperial reprisals. Iaius Jello would not be so forgiving next time. And to hammer the point in, Iaius had waited for the reinforcements and also destroyed them handily. It was a small force, no doubt meant to highlight the value of Bothawui to the Rebellion: but it wasn’t meant as a rescue force, and its size made that clear. They had expected the Emperor to leave. Their loss. The experiment with Battle Meditation was a success, and his skills had progressed. The Bothan threat was removed, and Iaius had achieved the victory he needed to satisfy those in the Empire. Now it was time to return home. In his quarters, the Emperor brooded. He had tossed his stuffy uniform jacket in the corner and replaced it with a comfortable coat. He sat for several moments, then went to draft a message to his wife. As he accessed his mailbox, he noticed a priority message and opened it. It was… rather interesting. And now he had to write a response. From: Emperor Iaius I To: Director Isard Encryption: Yes > He also received a message about a High Command meeting being called. It was rather suspicious, considering what Drear had brought before Isard. Would he preach treason to High Command as well? Or did he have something more insidious planned? Finally, he composed that message for his wife. From: Iaius To: Kiera Encryption: Yes > The message was sufficiently intimate to convince anyone who might have possibly tapped the mail routers on Imperial Center. The systems onboard the Eternal Blade and the computers in the new Palace itself were secure because Iaius had overseen the construction: but Iaius was deep in Rebel space, so the routers that had to be used were potential security links. He didn’t want Drear to know that Iaius knew anything: though he had given Kiera a coded message about ‘dinner’ that told her that something was up. He wouldn’t put it past Drear to tap the lines and to try and pull something at the meeting. He didn’t picture Drear as the type for a forced coup, but he there was no such thing as being too careful. Drear most likely wanted to bring his treason to High Command. The military wouldn’t listen to such nonsense. Drear’s days were numbered.
