ISD II Raven's Claw "I doubt that a New Republic General would not know why the rebellion would be here or send its General here," Veers replied sardonically. "Tell me why are they here and what they know about our presence here. Tell me and you can avoid Hawk's sadism. Rejoin the Empire and you don't have to see Hawk at all."
ISD II Raven's Claw "An investigation of what?" Veers pressed. "And I'll ask again what does the rebellion know of our presence here?" He did not mind the rebel general delaying in answering him. Giving him half-truths and no truths at all. The longer Solo took the longer it would take for him to send the man to Hawk. The longer it took to do that the more he could irritate the young General and the better. General Veers smiled softly.
ISD II Raven's Claw "Such as what you know of our operations here for starters," Veers provided and then waved his hand dismissively. "It doesn't matter. By the time your comrades inform the others it will be too late for them." He sat the blaster down on the table and slid it over to Solo. "You have a choice to make, Solo. Rejoin the Empire or stay loyal to a government that will not be existing very much longer. By taking the blaster and using it on me you choose the latter. Choose wisely." It was a gamble and one that could end his life here and now if it did not succeed. But it was worth it if he could succeed in getting Solo on their side. And should the man choose to remain loyal to the rebellion, he would die with him. For the moment he fires the blaster, the stormtroopers outside would storm the room and kill the rebel.
ISD II Raven's Claw He did not realize he had been holding his breath until his lungs told him he needed oxygen. Veers slowly breathed when Solo chose not to take the blaster after much hesitation and reluctance to betray the rebellion and his wife. "A wise decision, General Solo," Veers said, quite pleased with the man's decision and the fact that he was going to live. The Imperial General picked up his blaster and reholstered it before he called in a junior officer. "Arrange for officer quarters for General Solo and get him a uniform of whichever branch he wishes to serve in," he ordered the officer and glanced at Solo. "You'll have to forgive me and I hope you understand, General, but you will have to remain under guard until we are absolutely certain your loyalties are with us once more. You can freely move about the ship and become familiar with the men on board and you can also command your guards, within reason of course. In time you will be given encrypts and your own command, but for now you are my guest until I can arrange things for you." The junior officer waited at the door for General Solo.
ISD II Raven's Claw The junior officer led Solo out of the meeting room. The two stormtroopers that had escorted Solo there were ordered by the officer to continue to be the guards of the now Imperial General Han Solo. They were given instructions to obey his commands within reason and to escort him wherever he wanted to go on the ship. The junior officer also arranged for the uniform to be sent to the quarters he was leading Solo too. Once there he asked if the General wanted anything else. Meanwhile... General Veers sat at the obisidian table contemplating on whether he should inform Hawk that Solo was now an officer of the Empire. He still remembered the order he had been given by Hawk and knew the man was not going to be in a very good mood with him. Solo should have already been over to the Ragnarok and Hawk was not going to be very pleased with his refusal to cooperate. But perhaps the good news will keep Hawk happy enough to forget about his disobediance. "Comms, patch me through to the Ragnarok and to General Hawk," he ordered into the intercomm. It did not take long for his men to establish a connection with the Ragnarok.
