IC: Boba Fett

Boba cocked his head. "Why does anyone? We all have our motivations, Lady Vader. My father raised me and this is what I am. What further kicked me down this road was when he was murdered. I was on my own and being what I am now helped me survive in this cruel reality."

Boba gave Celeste a curious look. She was acting oddly and Boba didn't know what to make of it. She didn't sound all well either. "Why... Certainly," he said per her request. "I'll not keep you waiting!" Quickly, Boba set off to find the Re whist wondering what could possibly be ailing that poor woman.

It was all truth being told.

"I should thank you further for that," I said nodding to Kessa. "Perhaps all this has made your vision null and void. Do you think you will be recieving any more in the future?"

A subtle shake and the train began to slow. Steam hissed from the engines and the doors slid open. Seems we were quite close when the train picked up passengers...

"Bow Terminal Gamma, general," the pilot droid announced.

"Indeed." I hopped up from my seat and passed the opened doors of the car with Kessa in my wake. Past the terminal we took a long hallway and swung a left at a T-junction to the Ravager's MedLab.

IC: Anakin
Location: Throne Room, lift and Ballroom

The Master receeded as the words left Anakin's mouth, and the cane flying to his hand, Palpatine returned in obvious pain to his throne. Anakin did not find the severity he expected. In fact, as he watched Sidious mount the steps to his throne, Anakin found his shoulders had tightened in dreadful anticipation. He swallowed, his breath coming quick and he looked to the floor and up again, wetting his lips which now like his throat were parched, like his face drained.

"Ohhhh, Anakin. When will I ever get you to see? When will I ever get you to believe?" he said in incredible sadness, and the Master's touch was upon him, searching; a caress, a tenderness, brushing the tears from his cheeks. Yet, underlying all, like the coil of a snake, was the promise of fury, yet it was Sidious' power, Anakin had come to believe, that always made itself known to him. The young man looked down in shame for his offense.

"What you did in the Temple of the Jedi. It was necessary. A horrible thing, but necessary. The Jedi sought but two destinies for you, my son. They sought either to control you or to destroy you. When they could not do the one they tried the latter by trying to contain you. They knew of our friendship and sought to use it to cut two ways, as a saber master might. They sought to use it to reveal and destroy me and they sought to use it to break your friendship with me and thus isolate you further from any chance at freedom from their control. Your nature is to struggle and to choose your own destiny and you need freedom to do that. To deny you that freedom is to kill you, Young One. I have ALWAYS known this of you and it is why I have tried for all of your young life to teach you the way to empower yourself." Yes...but...Master Windu's calumny seemed so distant, thought Anakin, though it was but a month gone. Sidious had indeed been the only one...the only one to stand by him...with unqualified...love?...except...except Celeste, yes. This was his family now...and...did Sidious meet his vassilations with cruelty? Was he bent on destruction? What was it to be Sith? Do I not love? Do I not consider? Do I not give?

"Ma...Master," he whispered feeling his ingratitude, "I...I'm...sorry." His hand was melting in the indignancy he had done and still confusion reigned.

"When at last the Jedi made their well planned move to separate you from me they went in for the kill and kill me they nearly did, if not for your Free Choice to help me. Thank the Force that you did do the right thing, what your heart told you to do, or I would be dead now and you would be dead with me. Your very soul would be dead. Crushed under the chains of the Jedi oppression of the spirit. Their weakness would have played out and the CIS would have conquered the Republic and Dooku, with his pet droid, would have your head as his ornament. Celeste would be wedded to him now and enslaved to him and Padme would still be dead."

Writhed in anger at the thought of Celeste in those corrupted arms, and it was true, as sad and complex as truly melded in his soul Padme was, he could not forgive her her betrayal and even as greatly as he both raged and desired her, she was destined so to have betrayed and died. One brow rising in consternation at this horrible possibility, and feeling the varity of the Master's words, he trembled, not daring to face the generosity as shameful as he felt.

"Yes, my young Apprentice. I SAW all of this long before you were ever discovered by the Jedi. Before you knew me, I knew of you and I knew of your destiny. All of my mechanations. All of the war. All of the deception. All of the intrigues. All of this . . . I did for you. I sacrificed two Apprentices. I even had my own WORLD subjugated for you, so that you could be free. So that you could make your choices and come to the very conclusions that I knew you had to come to to save us all from what I SAW coming." But why, WHY! WHY must it be me, Anakin shut his eyes whispering again, "Forgive me!" There were so many transgression for which he must be forgiven! His shoulders curled with the weight of it.

"Would any of your old Jedi 'Masters' have done that for you. NO. Kenobi was sent to KILL you, Anakin, just as Windu was sent to KILL me. The Jedi are of one mind, Anakin, no, VADER, Lord Vader, they will stop at nothing to regain their position of influence in the Galaxy. They will kill you. They will kill me. They will happily kill Celeste" Anakin looked up as he began to fall to his knees, "NO!" He shook his head and whispered again, "No," but Sidious continued," before they kill you to see if they can break you back to their will, THEN they will kill you when they are done with you! That is what the Jedi have always done with their free thinkers. They send them out on the most dangerous of missions and when they die they 'mourn' their loss while the Council stays home, safe, in their little Council Chamber."

Sidious flew to Anakin where he knelt, and leant down his cowl nearly swallowing Anakin's head, and he rapped with emphasis the breastplate of Anakin's armor.

"I have ever fought for you. I have nearly died just to see you free. Remember THAT when you mourn those . . . Vile Betrayors that you once served. They are still out there Lord Vader!" Anakin looked, in the direction Sidious pointed his cane, with dread at the Jedi Temple. He had never believed that they had killed Padme, but he did believe that Sidious had believed it. No, not directly, but they had poisoned her mind against him. He knew it. Obi wan stood before him in the memory now passing before his eyes and the Jedi's words came back to him. Yes, they had turned her against him and Anakin shook his head emphatically, "NO!" Yet, Sidious pressed on, "Those that we missed. They will have learned. Our element of surprise is gone. They can attack us and kill us all at any time! They will kill Celeste. They will kill me. They WILL kill YOU. I HAVE FORSEEN IT!!! NOW TRUST ME!!!!" Anakin twisted in his anguish. All? All?

As if in answer, the heavens were rent with a great burst of light and the energy streaking in white hot fury found its mark and entered the young man, arching and shooting out from him and Anakin found he stood, his head leant despondently on his shoulder, and face bent in tortured conflict and utter pain. He sobbed quietly, "Yes,...yes!"

"Go now. Your wife is in need of care. She's passed out from all of this. Here . . ." into his hand a crystal vial filled with a purple fluid was pushed and Anakin stared down at it and then to the Master, his lips parted,". . . this will help her. It is an old elixer from Naboo, for women in her . . . condition. Now GO. You have worn me out worse than that Yoda of yours. We can speak further of this again if you CHOOSE to." Anakin felt Celeste's distress and his breath came quickly. Look what his indecision and foolish self-absorbtion had done. Anakin gazed at the ruin of his Master, remembering the kindly words of comfort and support...his sacrifice. He had not deceived or abandoned nor never lost faith. Anakin thought to himself about his own craven thoughts, and how he had lacked this foresight of the Master. He was lost without it. Now she lay below, comprimised by his inability to commit.

And in his largesse, the Master thought not of himself but of Celeste! "Forgive me,...Master." Anakin bowed and ran to the lift.

The doors had hardly closed ere they opened again and Anakin pushed through before they had fully parted. Looking to the dais, Celeste was hidden from view, and anxiously, he parted the reveling crowd before him to be met by Boba Fett. Anakin looked to him, concern apparent in his face. "What has happened Mr. Fett," he inquired quickly, his voice low and commanding. Anakin did not break stride with Boba Fett at his side as he listened to the young bounty hunter.

Meanwhile below:

The Major domo did not require to be found. Charged with the "right" running of the reception, he was ever vigilant and crossed the room as he saw the Reina sway in her seat, and raise her slender hand to her head. He found purchase on the dais as the Lady Vader ended her sentence. "May I be of service..."

Location: Cartao
Day: early 19

The slowly appearing rays from the Cartaoan sun awoke the sleeping Jedi. Raising his hand, Eme-ma force-pushed the power button on the Holonet news, which zapped to life.

Soon enough, it was off again and the Jedi/Sith was striding through the hallway towards the Main Hall of the castle, putting on his robe as he went. Drunk Politicians... nothing more. It seems it is still night on that side of the Galaxy, for the parties were still going on.

Eme-ma reached the main table, whose solitary diner was the lonely King Zamet. The King smiled and gestured towards a nearby chair, "Sit, Eme. I have a matter with which I want to discuss with you."

The Jedi sat down and listened intently.

"Eme-ma, I would like you to go down to the cantina in Rete. There you can find many... 'informants,'" he said this quieter, though no one was near who could comprimise this information, "But, Eme-ma, be careful. I don't want you to be recognized by anyone, for you are very well known as a political advisor to the King. If someone finds out that the King and Regional Governor of Cartao is trying to find the Rebellion, it could be catastrophic.

"You do have another identity, don't you?" Zamet said this with the smallest of winks, "A bounty hunter, perhaps?"

A couple minutes later, The Shadow Deragon hopped on a swoop and made his way towards the spaceport/fishing community.

IC: Grand Moff Tarkin, Captain Piett, Captain Daala, Admiral Ozzel
Location: Outside of the Imperial Ballroom, New Imperial Palace, Coruscant

Tarkin and Daala sat and watched, with polite interest, as the Mr. Fett was introduced, and talked with young Skywalker. Now where had a heard that name before. Fett. Fett. Fett. Ah yes. Jango Fett, the bounty hunter that provided the clones for the army. This was his son? Interesting.

Daala whispered little thises and thats of her observations in Tarkin's ear, who either nodded or turned to share his own ideas with her. Then with some great curiousity, the Emperor looked quite strangely, his eyes widening in fear as he saw something that Tarkin could not see. Daala, also very observant, saw this too, and whispered it in Tarkin's ear. The two watched the Emperor very carefully. He then got up, excused himself, and went into his turbolift to the throne room. A peal of thunder boomed outside from what once was a clear night. What was happening here?

Then, typically, Anakin disappeared... up the lift to the Emperor's throne room. Tarkin shook his head at this sad state of affairs. The Empire, it seems, was indeed being run by mystics and soothsayers. Sometimes, Tarkin thought, Admiral Motti might not be far off in his thoughts. Tarkin was not as fool as the man to express his ideas openly, but he secretly had always held them in consideration. The Moff knew his thoughts were extrememly treasonous. Perhaps he had to stay away from Coruscant. It would be safer for him.

"Come" he said, putting his hand of Daala's shoulder. With the Emperor gone, he had no more reason to be at the reception. His marraige to that stuck up Ursan Queen was revolting. The two were certainly not befitting to eachother. The two got up and walked to the end of the table, and then they descended onto the dance floor. Piett cut through the crowds to meet up with his mentor. He had been politely chatting with a Kuati noblewoman, and excused himself. He took his place at his master's left as the trio walked out of the engagement and out onto one of the causeways around the palace, showing a marvellous view of Imperial City.

"I think its about time the Empire has its own meeting." Tarkin said softly to Piett. "Did you see how the Emperor left the engagement? Very unorthodox. No doubt there will be talk."

Piett nodded. "Yes. I heard some myself on the dance floor. The Lady Qeyril was talking as to how he left. And then young Skywalker. Although I see no duplicity in her remarks, but there should not be any in the first place."

Tarkin nodded. "Make no doubt, I have much faith in the Emperor. He is a friend after all. I must ponder this turn of events."

"Wilhuff!" a voice came from the bottom floor as the three came down the stairs to the lower floor. A brown haired man with a mustache was waiting for him, dressed in an Admiral's uniform.

"Kendal Ozzel." Tarkin said with a smile. "Hello there my friend. I trust your campaigns in Hutt Space were successful."

"Indeed." the man said with a smile as he heartily shook the Moff's hands. "I heard you had a rough time in Ursan Space."

"Yes yes. The Confederate Forces there were quite problematic there. Luckily, I had General Tagge and Admiral Motti there to assist me in their routing. We emerged victorious, so all was well. However we should re-evaluate our naval fleet. The Confederate ships were far superior to our own. In this new generation of Naval Warfare, we need more powerful ships. Kendall, before I am commissioned to another mission, I would like to have a little meeting with some of the higher placed members of the Imperial Military in my suite here on Coruscant. You are of course, welcome to attend."

"Very well. I'll be there. Send me a comm with the time and the place, and you can count me in."

"Glad to hear." Tarkin said. "Enjoy the reception. Its been quite, exciting, one might say."

"Oh? Very well then Wilhuff. I shall. Nice meeting you all." the said with a crisp nod of the head.

The trio then boarded a hoverlimo and flew off towards Tarkin's suite and Kendall Ozzel entered the ballroom, sliding his way into the crowd, chatting with the various people on the dance floor. The Imperial Admiral always enjoyed a pleasant party, and he was rather pleased to join in the festivities.

IC: Master Yoda and Aayla Secura

Yoda bowed his head. "Mmmm...with the Force they are, young Denni. At peace let them be." Yoda stood to his grand height of two feet and began to pace. He looked back at the young Jedi and smiled. "If old as I you were, see many friends long gone you would...hmmm?" He chuckled and sat back down. "Rest now, young one for soon your strength ...required it will be."

From the doorway, Aayla looked in wistfully. Many times Master Yoda had shared his wisdom with her and many times she had seen the kinder, gentler side of the aged Master Jedi. Those days were gone now but his subtle humor had left it's mark on Aayla.
"Be thankful you aren't as old as Master Yoda is, Denni. Imagine the credits you'd spend on Oil of Nablay."

Yoda's eyes narrowed as he gazed over to Aayla. "Mmmm...work well this oil does..." His eyes shifted to Denni. "...as Aayla would know. In her chambers, many jars have I found." Yoda's eyes twinkled as he once again chuckled.

IC: Kessa
Location: Ravager, monorail

Kessa was surprised that Grievous wanted to know more about her visions. She was even a little pleased that he was finally seeing that the Force could be a powerful asset. "Well, the Force brings visions to those who need to see them, either as a warning of things to come, or so the person can alter or prevent the events from happening. Considering everything that's been happening, I probably will have more visions. I can't tell you how many or when they'll occur, but no one knows when the Force will decide it wants to tell you something."

The monorail slowed to a stop and the doors opened. Kessa followed Grievous as he got out, through the long hallway and past the junction, and into the Ravager's MedLab.

"My greetings to you Admiral Motti. I am General Malien Encantor, Agent 001 of his Majesty, the Emperor's, Imperial Secret Service." Malien said matter of factly and klicked his heels and bowed curtly to the Master of this fleet. His black leather flight suit squeaked annoyingly as he did so.

"Under His Majesty's direct orders I was sent to track General Grievous's ship from this system with my stealth craft. I successfully tracked his ship all the way to Grievous's home planet of Kalee around which the The Ravager now orbits. More I am not at liberty to say until I have spoken directly to the Emperor himself. I am due a call from him any moment now. You will excuse me if I interrupt our conversation once the transmission comes through." Malien reported crisply.

"I thank you in advance for the hospitality and atttentiveness of your crew. I fear I only managed to escape the Kalee system by the very skin of my teeth. My ship was somewhat damaged before I managed to make the jump to hyperspace." Malien nodded with respect to Admiral Motti in appreciation.

IC:

The city hustled and bustled with the sound of early morning market, smugglers running this way and that, and drunkards awakening from their Ale-induced slumber. The usual sound was shattered by another sound: a high pitch speeder bike sound. The smuggler's ears did not deceive them for a swoop bike was making its way towards the heart of the city.

Some say they had seen him before, others were skeptical of their friend's stories. Yet all of them watched the Bounty Hunter jump off the bike, leaving it to glide into a parking space.

"I'm looking for a Gran, anyone see one?" the Bounty Hunter said with a gruff voice, "Or am I going to have to say his name?"

The smugglers took a step back, some jumping into nearby cafe's: this was not exactly the safest situation for them at this moment, and they realized it.

"I'll ask again, this time I want answers. I'm looking for a Gran named Aak."

Suddenly, a small snivan stepped forward, his rodent-like face showing as much fear as it could muster, and spoke to the Bounty Hunter, "I... I know where he is, if you would follow me sir..."

He stumbled than ran into the nearby cantina. A few hallways, a staircase, and they were at a room above the bar.

"Please, d-d-don't hurt me! If you don't like i-" the poor Snivan stammered.

The door was thrust open and pairs of hands grabbed Deragon and thrust him into the room. The small quarters housed two Bothans and a Mon Calimarian, by the looks of 'em, and they all had blasters pointed at the newcomer.

"Who are you?" asked one of the Bothans, "who sent you?"

"My name is Deragon, I-"

"Deragon, eh? Is that what your mama named you? What is your name, bub?"

Accepting defeat, Eme-ma took off his helmet and looked at the Bothans, "my name is Eme-ma Himou, a Jedi with the Cartaoan Government. We're trying to find-"

"-the rebels," the young Mon Calimarian finished, "but why? And remember: Bothan fur can detect changes in moods, so lying won't be getting you anywhere."

"We want to help the Rebellion! I am an old friend of the late Padme Amidala, and I feel it would be fitting if we could help the organization that she helped to found."

The Mon Calimarian looked at the Bothans and back at Himou, "yes... I believe that is an acceptable answer. As you were asking, Ask Aak is part of the Alliance for the Restoration of the Republic and he is hiding out on Cartao. This is Melan," he gestured towards a Bothan, "he will be your contact: he knows more about the Aliance's current status more than the rest of us."

The Bothan that was named Melan came forward and took out a holo-projector. Turning it on, it displayed a solar system.

"Here," Melan said as he pointed to a planet circling, "is Corellia," the planet zoomed in and was now the only thing being displayed. "On Corellia, we have stationed the Sierra Base. Go there, go alone or we WILL kill the King of Cartao. We are very serious on who knows and who doesn't, and we are willing to kill you and others to keep it a secret. Go to the Sierra Base and prove that you are a member of the Alliance."

Eme-ma was thrust outside and pushed down the hall towards the exit. Putting on his helmet to once again mask his identity, Eme-ma picked up his swoop, throwing it around to face the opposite direction, then sped off towards the Castle.

OOC: Yes, I was referring to Koth Melan of Shadows of the Empire fame.

IC: Lan Revus
Location: Around the Campfire

Lan nibbled on his sesame stick and put some nutmash on it. Mmmmm. Lan had always loved nutmash. He had taken the liberty of going off and changing out of his 'Solday Meetin' Clothes' and back into some dungarees. He'd also sent Feona and Lena back to the ship to find some better sleeping accommodations for the rag tag fugitive freedom fighters. He had repulsor cots and air mattresses that would make life a lot easier out here.

He stared at his ration stick and took a listen around and heard things off in the distance. Howling things, rummaging things, living things. Where there was howling there were usually predators and where there were predators there were usually prey animals. Padme, bless her, could think all she wanted to 'bout growin' proper crops and such, but hunger was a more immediate need than a growin' crop could provide.

They were gonna need to do some huntin' and suppliment their supplies. They could be out here a while and ship stores would only last for so long. Lan wasn't yet aware of the successful Alliance Marine expeditions and depredations being done to help their supplies out.

Lan caught some movement on the other side of the fire and saw Senob go over to Padme, whipping out his precious disk a dead man had given him. Curious Lan got up and sauntered over to peek over their shoulders.

"Impressive!" Lan nodded in appreciation.

IC: Admiral Motti
Location: Motti's Office, HIMS Heart of Durasteel, Malove High Orbit

Motti surveyed this "General Encantor." He seemed like a veritable poster child of the New Order. And effective too. Motti took an immediate liking to the man.

"A General eh? You Army folks are good men. Perhaps you know my counter-part, General Cassio Tagge? He is working also on this ship, and I know how clicky our divisions are."

Motti gave a laugh.

"Feel free to make yourself at home General. There is virtually no action here... we are in the process of repairs after the recent skirmish here. I'll have my technicians take a look at your vessel and repair what is needed on it."

Motti put down his stylus and looked up.

"As per the holonet receiveing stations, those are upstairs, next to the bridge. As a General, I am sure you will have access to such an area. And I'll call an ensign to tend to your needs while on board my ship. And of course, if there is anything else, you only need to ask. I'll be hear for quiet sometime with this paperwork."

Motti looked down at his papers and began writing, the universal beauracratic signal for "dismissed."

In rode the Lord of the Nazgûl.
A great black shape against the fires beyond he loomed up, grown to a vast menace of despair.
In rode the Lord of the Nazgûl, under the archway that no enemy ever yet had passed, and all fled before his face.
