Padme placed the reader upon an ornately carved stone bench. The others gathered around as the disc revealed its secrets.

"Wow! Would you look at that!" exclaimed Vanepp swallowing the last of his god awful rations.

"The Empire has nothing like this.Nothing.This could help us win, Padala." Hannes said placing a hand on Padme's shoulder.

"We don't have the funds to produce such a fighter...perhaps someday. At least it did not fall into the hands of the Imperials. We have that much to be thankful for. The Force was with us,in that poor man placed the only plans of this fighter into your pocket Giles...explain that one."

"You already have, Padme. Explanation is not possible... its not luck.. It's faith. You believe or don't.Simple as that."

"Simple? What in life is simple doc?" asked Typho.

"Beings make life complicated by their choices.The Force or whatever you want to call the Greater Authority asks only one thing of us, how has our living made the world, the galaxy ,a better place? We all have our part to play.

Some of us choose a selfish part.We think of only ourselves and our wants and our needs....that leads to the Dark Side.The Dark Side is empty,full of hollow promises.

Some choose to place others first instead of themselves.It is the more difficult path - at first. But in helping others, we help ourselves and life is good.There is love, there is hope, there is faith. The Dark Side have none of those.

That's why their life is full of inner turmoil and struggle...and they wonder why ?

They surround themselves with the luxuries of this reality and think to find comfort..and look at us! Not exactly the Lux of Coruscant but we are far, far richer than they..." Senob caught himself.

"What am I doing? A sermon! Yeah, Typho,life is simple..."

IC: Anakin and Celeste
LOCATION: Imperial Palace Ballroom and bed chamber in the Ursean Embassy

Anakin looked quickly to Boba Fett. The Master wished the two to form a mutually beneficial relationship. Alright, then. “Mr. Fett, I thank you for your concern. I would consider it a great favor if you were to alert my aide, Mr. di Toli that our transport is needed immediately. Lord Vader nodded to the Mandalorian with his familiar but young face as Fett acquiesced and bounded off in the direction of the a quiet comm.

In the next minute he arrived at the dais to find she had revived, artfully shielded from the view of revelers by the Major domo. “Celeste, we are leaving,” he said quickly giving the efficient servant a quick nod and sideways glance. “You must find some reserve and we can escape this foolishness! A set of Ursaean dancers were taking the floor as he said this, and they began an elaborate Sevillana with its distinctively graceful arm and hand movements and percussive heel tapping. Lord and Lady Vader were obliged to sit and smile for the next 30 minutes.

Smiling and rising, Lord Vader held her about the waist and soon they found themselves safely cosseted within the Transport, not before they were obliged to greet other eager and solicitous attendants.

***

“No, send her away Anakin,” called Celeste from the bed upon which he’d placed her. He looked back over his shoulder and returned rather than allowed the young woman entrance. He sat on the edge of the bed and looked down and placed a hand on her brow. She was unwell and should allow a medic, but now he placed his flesh hand to her abdomen he could feel the child was well. Yet the concern on his face evoked her reassurance, “I’m tired and …overwhelmed.”

He understood “overwhelmed!” Reaching into his utility pouch at the back of his belt he pulled out the vial, which Palpatine had given him. Holding in his hand, he recognized so many parameters and including his own suspicious thoughts. Making a decision he said, “Here, drink this!”

“Wh…what is it,” said Celeste raising up, the stiff stomacher impeding her.

He explained its origin and though she gazed with suspicion she saw his sterness reappearing. Yes, of course he’d thought of that, but now they both understood something about each other and their thoughts on the Master. Celeste sighed and drank it.

Wearily pulling at the closures for the stomached she fumbled and she lay down putting her arm across her brow while he took up the work of disarming, his fingers practiced and she smiled. “You seem to have no end of talent Mr. Skywalker.”

He chuckled quietly inspite of the misery in which he’d found himself. “I’ve had some small practice,” he said roguishly, not looking up, but continuing his ministrations.

“Anakin…”

“Hum?”

“I’m…sorry.”

“For what?”

“For being so …weak!”

“What makes you think you are weak," he said quietly.

“I am not brave or strong or fierce or …”

Looking up sternly he fixed her with a dark gaze, “You are being self-indulgent. You need sleep!”

She supposed him correct and she watched him as he sat on the edge of the bed, his back bent removing his armor. She trailed a finger down his arm and he smiled weakly. He understood her small gesture. He moved about the room as he readied for a sleep he felt he dearly needed himself and wasn’t likely to get. When at last he returned to bed, gliding under the covers he pulled her to him and curled together, innocence claimed them, if only for a few hours. What was real? This was real.

Tomorrow, the Master would expect that his apprentice live up to the tacit promise.

IC: Dual Post - Sidious & Encantor
Locations: Throne Room - Guests Quarters.

Encantor:
"Ah . . . yes sir. Well, thank you for the accomodations. Yes the Imperial 'Army' has quite a reputation as does our fine Navy." Malien smiled sardonically at the agreeable yet necessarily conceited Admiral. Indeed a prerequisite for the Imperial Admiralty was conceit, what self-important junior officer would respect a modest Admiral?

"Uh, don't worry about action, sir. We'll all soon be seeing plenty of it. Have a good day sir." Malien winked at the Admiral who had begun his paper shuffling. Clicking and nodding Malien left the Admiral to his relaxing paperwork.

Sidious:
Sidious sat on his throne regarding the floor in his dark chamber. He had long ago polarized the transparisteel windows that made up the walls of his throne room to keep the lightning flashes out. They annoyed him tonight.

The room was illuminated only by faint red floor panels. Sidious was looking into the Dark Side and a dark room helped this. Searching for who the vision had revealed to him. He had immediately recognized Vader's face even though time and care had worn away the youthful features of that face in his vision. The other though, the angelic blonde child, who could that possibly be? To share the same eyes. The same eyes. Eyes. The eyes of the . . . father?

Celeste's child? Noooo. Sophia would be female. This was a male. The son of Skywalker. The Dark Side would not release its secret of the son of Skywalker. Sidious's probes were returned empty. The Force protected this one or this one did not yet exist. Perhaps things could be arranged so that this one could NOT come to exist if he did not exist already.

Nooo. He DID exist already. The Dark Side would reveal that much at least, if for no other reason than to torment Sidious. The Son of Skywalker lives then, but cannot be found. Then, then he must not be allowed to become a Jedi. The boy in the vision was obviously a Jedi and Jedi had to be trained. If no Jedi were left to train the boy then the boy would not become a Jedi.

Hence, what Sidious had said to Vader had to be accomplished. All the Jedi must be destroyed so that Sidious's vision could not come to pass. If even one Jedi lives then the possibility exists that he or she might make their way to the son of Skywalker and the prophecy could then be fulfilled. Sidious would die. Anakin would be returned to the Jedi. The Sith would at last be crushed from existence . . . unless there was . . . another.

The comm chime sounded beautifully in the room reverberating off the transparisteel as if by the dawning of a new idea. Sidious snorted and awoke from his reverie. He willed the hologram on. It was an encrypted message from a very long distance. Sidious willed his authorization code into the computer.

Malien Encantor's perspiring face appeared in the color hologram:

"Your Majesty. I have found it. It is orbiting Kalee and appears to be in its second stage of development. They have the hypermatter reactor working. I repeat THEY HAVE THE HYPERMATTER REACTOR WORKING. I am uploading all sensor and telemetry data to you now. I will be back on Coruscant soon. My ship requires repairs. I will be docking with Admiral Motti's flagship. These are your Eyes. May they always serve thee well."

Sidious's face twisted in to an obscene vision of pure extacy. He began cackling like one gone mad. The sound was so frightening and disturbing that it even scared the storm away. Sidious felt like doing a vicotry dance, but his back told him no.

Immediately he punched a series of buttons in the recesses of his throne's armrest. The hyperchannel was picked up almost immediately by his faithful Eyes.

Encantor:
"My Master." Malien kneeled in his guest's quarters as the face of the Emperor spread out in his hand.

Sidious:
"Wellll doooone, my good friend. This is momentus! At LAST. We have found where that conniving fool Dooku hid MY Death Star. You were right not to trust the Serennian, Umbrus, but we made good use of him while he remained true. His connections to the various guilds, federations, and the Jedi allowed us access to the technology that could build this work of art. Now no prophecy or power in the Universe will be able to stand in the way of the Sith." Sidious proclaimed with twisted joy.

"The Chosen One is ours and soon the mightiest weapon ever devised will be ours as well. Quickly, call a meeting of the chiefs of staff present with you in Ursa. I will do the same here on Coruscant. We must mobilize our forces at once. The Death Star WILL by ours again." Sidious growled and his eyes flared as visions of defeat turned suddenly into flaming worlds of triumph.

Encantor:
"It will be done as you say, my Master." Malien nodded with his eyes closed in homage to Sidious's image. As he opened them to regard the hologram's pleasure an evil smile parted Malien Encantor's lips and his eyes . . . blazed golden-red.

Himou's swoop kicked into overdrive and jumped over the river on its way towards Zamet's Castel. Lies..., Eme-ma thought, that was too easy, so that is the only conclusion I can come to.

After a few minutes, Eme-ma had arrived at the Castel and was approaching the aging King.

"Did you find him?" asked the King in a feeble voice.

"No... I encountered some Bothans. It seems their only purpose was to keep me off the scent. My Lord, I don't think Aak is even on the planet."

"Hmm.. yes, I was fearing that that was so. Oh well... Well, I will take this opportunity to start your training."

"Training? Uh, no... you see, I am a superb fighter: a combine Jedi and Sith techniques with the fighting techniques of a small native tribe. I need no more training."

"Ahh, that is where you are wrong. Yes, you do know how to fight physically, but what about mentally? Himou, you are a fighter, nothing more than a common brute. As I have no heirs, I will need to appoint you to be the Regional Governor. We NEED to keep peace talks with the Imperials. You need to learn how to fight politically, Himou, and I will teach you how."

"Yeah, bein' rich ain't all its cracked up to be, but money can be real handy when fightin' a war. That's what you guys are buyin' into when you talk about restorin' the Republic and overthrowin' that there Emperor and all. A war. A big one." Lan paced away holding his chin in thought.

"I might be able to help you all in that direction." Lan said enigmatically.

"Howsabout I make a proposal here. You guys like that ship right? Its just plans now right, maybe just a prototype, right?" Lan asked and nodded in answer to his own question.

"Why don't I buy you the means to mass produce these babies? Why don't I buy out Incom Technologies?" Lan let the proposal hang in the air.

The proposal did indeed hang in the air.The Naboo stared at Revus as if he just said he could make the very sun dance.

"You have THAT much?" an incredulous Vanepp asked.

"No. We can't. " said Padme rising from floor where she had seated herself. "It's blood money.Excuse me."

Amidala hurried away from the group, heading for the outer door.

"Padala!"

Senob laid a restraining hand upon Vanepp's shoulder.

"Let Revus talk to her. It's his offer."

The doctor turned to the Black Sun assassin.

"Well...go talk to the woman."

Outside in the shadows of the flare, Padme paced back and forth.

Amidala kicked at a stone.

Lan wasn't perturbed or put off by Padme's immediate refusal of Lan's funds. It was true. Most of that money had come from hits that Lan had performed in the service of Xizor. Others had not been . . . hits exactly, well at least, the targets had survived their experiences. They were more like shake downs.

Lan shrugged as he held his hands in his pockets looking up at the stars as he worked his heel into the dirt, turning about. "Beautiful night. Lots'a stars." Lan said kind of dreamily and quietly.

"I'm, uhhhh, I'm gonna go ahead and buy Incom. Its a good investment. Its also, uh, a good place for that money to go. I agree, I, uh, I had to do lots a things that I wish I hadn't'a done to get that money. Its a reason why I'd like not to have it anymore, coz it used to be all I lived for. Thanks ta you an' Senob and your other friends, that's changed now." Lan said still looking up.

"If at all possible, I'd like that money to go to savin' lives and to destroyin' the reason why so many lives've been lost, the Empire and its hangers-on, like Black Sun. If by usin' Incom you can do that, Ms. Amidala, then I know that I would be leavin' my money in the best of hands. I'd also know that, well, that my life hasn't been just a waste of blood and breath." Lan looked to his boots and kicked a stone out of the way.

"It would give me a reason to die, one day, in peace." Lan finally looked up at Amidala with the shine of unwept tears in his eyes.

IC: Torian
Location: Almaran System, Almar

The Strike-Class Cruiser, The Enlightened came into orbit of the planet Almar, located in the Elrood Sector. The planet was covered with jungle and sandy beaches. Much of the planet was dedicated to the tourist trade. Inside The Enlightened’s hangar were a MT/191 Drop-Ship and six TIE fighters. The captain of The Enlightened, walked back to the operations room where Torian was briefing his team. Inside, situated in lounge chairs, were the scariest SOBs that Captain Nyarh had ever seen. Each man’s face was painted black. Everything about there appearance expressed stealth and danger. It took a special breed to do what these men did. There hearts were as big as their brawn, thought Captain Nyarh. All right gentlemen, this is what we trained for. Our mission is to set up listening comms on the planet as well as erase the data files on the city’s central computer. We will be dropping on the dark side of the planet so as not to attract unwanted attention. The drop ship will hover above the water, where the Model IV skiff will then be pushed in. We will follow. The skiff will carry us 500 yards out to the beach. We swim the rest of the way. There may be Imperial scumbags on the ground, so rules of engagement are this; do not fire, unless fired upon. This mission is all about stealth. We are not going in to crash the party. Hand signals only. Do not break commlink silence unless it is completely necessary. Once in the water, the drop ship will head back to The Enlightened, which will then hide behind Lodos, a moon of Elrood. We will be on our own. Once we have the completed the evolution, we are to extract here, pointing to the map. This mission relies on everyone working as one cohesive team. I want no heroic stupidity. Do you understand me? **HOOYAH COMMANDER**! All right, gear up. We drop in 10 minutes. Standing in the back of the briefing room, Captain Nyarh finally gets the courage to speak; “Commander, we have reached the Elrood System.” Thank you Captain. Torian takes his leave with captain and heads to the bridge. You and your crew know their role. You are to meet us at the LZ with the drop ship in twenty-four hours. Yes sir Commander, we won’t fail you. With all the gear stowed and ready for the drop, thirteen brawny snake-eaters take their seats. Thirteen men are carrying DH-17 blaster rifles, pistols on the chest and vibroknives on their thigh. Everyone is carrying the same equipment, electrobinoculars, TDs, datapads and rations. The two biggest operators are hauling portable missile launchers on their backs, also known as PIGS.

The strike cruiser nears the planet’s atmosphere. The drop ship leaves the hangar and begins its rapid decent to the surface. With precision, the ship pulls up about thirty feet from the crashing waves of the ocean. The skiff is pushed out the back. Splashing down, thirteen men drop into the cool waters of Almar’s ocean. Climbing aboard, they head for the beach. As the distance closes to five hundred yards, the skiff begins to slow down, quieting the engines. Hovering just above the water, the team quietly pours out over the sides. The swim is arduous, but these men are highly trained, and failure is not an option. The water near the beach seems black in the darkness of night. Just then two heads quietly surface to recon the beachhead. Everything seems quiet and calm. Sneaking out of the water, the men crawl up to a large coral rock near the tall orange grass. The “good-to-go” signal is given and the rest of the men come ashore. Once on the beach, they shed their swim gear and bury it in the black sand. The point man begins his deliberate walk into the grass towards the jungle. The only sounds heard on the march are those of the wildlife. After two hours of weaving through the jungle, they come to an open clearing and the main city with the central computer. The men fan out along the jungle trees. Torian gives the signal to eight of his men to sneak into the city and erase the computer records and set up hidden listening posts around the city. Looking down on the city, they see that all is quiet. Since the Imperials took over, the tourist industry has collapsed. There were several AT/ST walkers stationed around the city perimeter as well as stormtroopers. This is going to be difficult thought Torian.
Inside the city, the men stick close to the darkest shadows of the buildings. After thirty minutes they reach the structure housing the central computer. One of the men jumps on the back of the other and crawls through the ventilation shaft. Fifty meters in, he stops right above the computer, listening for any sounds of Imperials or others. Hearing nothing, he drops down into the room and begins his dirty deeds. Once the files are erased, he quietly sneaks back into the ventilation shaft. The other six men are hiding in the shadows, corners and alleys of the city, installing listening post devices. Everything seems to be running smoothly; so far the Imperials have not suspected a thing. Sneaking back to the safety of the jungle, the men give a thumbs up for mission accomplished. Quietly as possible, they turn around and head back to the LZ for extraction. Halfway there, they are spotted by stormtroopers with thermal reading detectors. All hell breaks loose as the stormtroopers open fire on Torian’s team. The fire is intense from the Imperials. Well, so much for stealth. **RETURN FIRE**! Everyone pops up and begins returning the favor to the Imperials. The noise is deafening and attracting attention. **FALL BACK TO THE LZ**! Soon four AT/ST join the battle. With professional discipline, the men leap frog back away from the fight. One man keeps up the fire support and then is tapped on the shoulder by his teammate to fall back. This goes on for about two minutes. **BRING OUT THE PIGS**! Just then a concussion missile is let go on the approaching scout walker. With a fierce explosion, the walker is out of action. Jut then, two more show up. Torian gets on the comm., “**MOTHER, THIS IS FATHER, COME IN**! **MOTHER, THIS IS FATHER, COME IN**! This is Mother, what is your ETA to the LZ? **MOTHER, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK AT COORDINATES 2-5, REQUEST ASSISTANCE, OVER**! Roger that, assistance is on the way. **ROGER THAT, THANKS MOTHER**! The battle intensifies, as more and more Imperial troops enter the fray. Soon, one of Torian’s men is hit in the gut and almost ripped in half. The man standing next to him picks him up and slings the wounded man over his shoulder and then continues firing at the Imperials. They finally reach the tall orange grass just off the beach. The Imperial fire intensifies further. The men are almost out of munitions. Just then, the point man takes a laserblast to his chest. Torian turns and runs directly into the oncoming fire to retrieve the downed man. To Torian, time slows down and the noises of battle are muted in his ears. His entire focus is on his point man. What seems like a millennia weaving through the orange grass with laser fire whipping by his head, he finally reaches his teammate. The man is barely breathing and blood is pouring from his chest. Torian slings his weapon, throws his limp body over his shoulder and stands to run back to the rest of his men. Just then a sharp pain hits him in the thigh. He drops to one knee in agony. Summing up the rest of his strength, he stands once again to run back. His men provide covering fire but it seems like nothing is stopping the advance of the stormtroopers. Just as he reaches the beach, six TIE fighters swoop down and spew laser fire on the stormtroopers and scout walkers, giving cover fire for the approaching drop ship and men on the ground. Stormtroopers are thrown off their feet from the hail of laserblasts coming from the TIEs. The drop ship sets down with the back hatch open. Six men with blaster rifles at their shoulders begin firing into the scrambling stormtroopers. As one of the TIE fighters closes in on the Imperials, a scout walker zeroes in on it and blows it out of the sky. Debris is thrown everywhere. The ground team limps into the drop ship with four wounded and two dead. Torian yells out, “**LET’S GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE**!” With that, the drop ship and remaining TIE fighters head for space to the awaiting Striker Cruiser. The drop ship enters the hangar along with the TIE fighters. Medical personnel run towards the drop ship to evacuate the wounded and dead to the medical facility. Torian is the last to step off the drop ship. Limping down the ramp, his face is still black from the operation, uniform stained with blood. Captain Nyrah’s face turns green as he looks upon the wounded and dead. Looking up at Torian he asks, “Commander, what happened out there?” “I’ll brief you later, right now I need a drink.” With everything secured and locked down, the Strike Cruiser jumps to hyperspace and heads for home.

IC: Lyloo Felvis, Royal MedPlex on Kavala

Days have passed since the catlike creatures accident. After the arrival on Kavala, she was taken in medical care at once. She was lucky to be still alive...

Since her arrival, Lyloo was being cured in a special, prototype tank, which was filled with a special kind of liquid. It helped to increase the healing process of living beings...It was the first time the tank was tested at someone so gravely injured. Lyloo had the privilege for the chance to heal as soon as possible. She would have been very grateful to the crew for their help...if she knew about the things happening around her.
So far, she didn’t regain consciousness yet.

***

Our mind can be quite independent sometimes. It knows what’s best for the individual and acts in the proper way which is the best for the individual. Lyloo was in a deep sleep, a kind of hibernational state you could say. She didn’t feel anything, she was regaining her energy in deep rest. Every cell of the Sphinxes body was focused on the recovery...The progress was faster than by other species, humans for example. Her organism was strong, and with the help of the prototype bacta tank Lyloos healing period was soon coming to an end.

She felt nothing else but silence around her...She was swimming in darkness, but it was not frightening, rather peaceful...That’s what she desired, peace and quiet...She felt that it was necessary for her now, to stay calm and patient. She didn’t struggle against it...She waited for her time to come...

***

Hours passed without event. The Sphinx stayed motionless. The medtech in the room was rather bored, reading a paper at the little table...Until one of the tanks sensors beeped...The young man jumped to his feet immediatly. He looked at the monitor and breathed a sigh of relief. “Our patient is waking up.”, he reported in his comm.

Lyloos senses started working again. The darkness in her head finally started fading. She slowly opened her eyes. Her eyesight was blurred, but she could observe the movement around her, foggy figures coming and going...She blinked a few times to clear her seeing...The faces she saw looked friendly and reassuring...Lyloo felt that she doesn’t need to be afraid of them.

IC: Master Yoda and Aayla Secura

Yoda listened to the message. "Hmmm...accept this aid, the Jedi do." He nodded to Tank. "Stand ready. Alert you we will...when needed you are."

Aayla's stomach churned. She had accepted Alpha but now this? "Master Yoda, are you sure that's wise? How do you know these clones won't turn like the others?"

Yoda looked up at Aayla as he stood next to Denni. "Know this, I do not."

Aayla sighed. She realized then how desperate these days had become. Master Yoda was taking a chance with the clone troopers because he had to. Aayla would stand by his decision because......she had to. She nodded once in answer.

OOC: To Pashatemur from Master Yoda-

"Congratulate you I must. In this achievement, honor you I will. A new title will I grant you."
The tinkle of windchimes can be heard in the grand chamber of the Temple.
"Master Roleplayer...known from this day, you will be. May the Force be with you."
Trumpets flare and knights bow...iris out.

Padme Amidala, Commander-In-Chief, Alliance for the Restoration of the Republic -
~~~~~~~~~~
"Peace.I use to be a champion of peace."
Amidala turned and face Revus.
"I was against the forming of a clone army and for negotiations with the Separtists. Then I discovered that the army had already been created and the war was upon us. I participated in the battle of Genosis.
I was a member of the War Council. I read the reports of the civilian death toll and the devastation that war caused. I know how many Jedi were sacrificed.
I've travelled to those planets and seen first hand the horror and ugliness of war.
When I took my oath as Chancellor-Elect I promised a renaissance, a new beginning, a rebuilding of the Republic..."
Amidala's voice trailed away.
"...and here I am dragging the Republic I love into another war.More will die because...
It is I who should apologize to you , Mr Revus...my hands are covered in blood..."
Padme rested a hand upon Lan's cheek.
"I am sorry...
OOC: Good blood n' guts, there, Omi. I felt like I was reading Apocolypse Now there for a second. Well Done. applause
IC: Lan Revus
Location: In Padme's soft hand
Lan reached and gently took Padme's hand from his face into his own hands.
"Don't be, Ma'am. This hand is clean'o that blood. The blood you speak of belongs on the hand of another . . . the hand I shook when deliverin' 'your' body to him. Palpatine. The blood of the Clone Wars and everythin' leadin' up to 'em are on his hands." Lan looked at Padme's small and gentle hand and massaged it.
"These wars you speak of were never your wars. You didn't start 'em and you couldn't finish 'em. You were played, just like the rest of us. You are a victim, just like the others Palpatine has had killed an' hurt . . . an' duped. You're just a person! One woman in a big galaxy. You can't stop things bigger'n you by yourself. You did great just by survivin' that bastard even after he sent me after ya. You defeated him in that way!" Lan looked deep into Padme's eyes.
"Peace n' Freedom's got to be earned all the time or it ain't worth havin'." Lan continued.
"Yes, Miss, there's gonna have ta be fightin' to earn back that peace an' that freedom. But it ain't all gonna be your fightin' or even your decidin'. Its gonna be men and women, likeminded as you, that're gonna wanna fight, yes, an' even DIE for what they know is right against what they know is wrong. It ain't gonna be all your ride, pardon my sayin', miss. You and our friends here can help 'em get their freedom back if you hold true to what you know is right. But, mark my words, folks're gonna fight this Empire regardless, with or without you." Lan said emphatically.
"I'd like ta think that they'd have a better chance with you at their side, an' with a few X-Wings ta boot." Lan finished with a wink and a smile.
