IC: Torian
Location: Bad Karma base in the Dousc System

The Strike Cruiser returned to base and set down in the hangar. The medical crew immediately began unloading the wounded and dead. The atmosphere in the hangar was solemn. No one said a word as they watched the dead being taken away. Once they were off the ship and on their way to the medical station, the rest of the men with their gear, headed to the briefing room. Torian stepped off the ramp of The Enlightened last, and looked around at the ground crews’ faces. One of the medical personnel noticed a slight limp in Torian’s walk and the bandage around his thigh. “You need medical attention Sir.” Not now, I need to brief my men and Admiral Fidelis. With that, Torian left the hangar.

Inside the briefing room, Torian’s men were laying back in their chairs exhausted from battle. “Men, up until we made contact with the enemy, things were going smoothly. Everyone did his job. I know we're all in strung out right now, and we lost two good teammates, but sooner or later we are all dead men. We have learned a valuable lesson on this op, and it is don’t underestimate the Empire. We will not forget our teammates, we will continue to persevere, and we will not stop until the Republic is restored. Stand down for now, get some rest; as soon as I am done with my reports, I’m getting drunk. You’re all welcome to join me. With that, Torian leaves for his quarters.

30 minutes later…

After the reports were finished, Torian walked over to the makeshift tavern on base. Inside, Titus was sitting at the bar. Walking over to him, “Bartender, give me the usual, but make it a double.”

Double huh? Rough op?

SNAFU is more like it. I lost two men. One of them had his chest blown out.

Well, considering the success we’ve been havin’ lately, it was bound to happen. Ride er till she bucks ya or don’t ride er at all.

Swallowing the potent sauce, “yep. Give me the bottle, will ya.”

Just then, the clone Alpha walks up to Titus. “So, Commander Titus what will be my next mission?”

Torian turns and looks at Alpha, slightly irritated, "he’s the chief, I’m the Commander. As for **YOUR** next mission, it’s to sit here and have a drink with us." Pours Alpha a shot of the rotgut from the bottle. Holding up the shot glass, Torian makes a toast, “"Here's to a teammate. He knows you well... And likes you just the same!"

“I sent the report to Admiral Fidelis on the latest mission. Until then, getting drunk sounds like a plan.”

IC:Atrus
Location: JEdi Temple

Atrus entered the smoking crater that once was the Jedi temple, on his guard but still with pride after returning from another campaign from the Clone Wars. The wars were over and he was instructed to return home, which he wanted to do more than anything. It was odd, however that now, he had a signal directing him to leave. Atrus wanted to call out "Hello, anyone here," but clearly, stealth was needed. Stormtroopers were everywhere. The young Jedi made his way through the deep shadows, eyes full and brimming as he took in the carnage that lay everywhere through out the temple. He stopped and almost vomitted at the sight. Jedi slain everywhere as far as the eye could see, scorching from blaster fire everywhere. How could that be possible? Even a youngling could deflect a blaster bolt! Man, woman, and child all dead, every race and creed. Tears began to streak down his cheeks as he slowly made his way towards the holo recordings in hopes of finding the cause of this impossible massacre. he felt a hatred inside he had never really know before, except once on Jabiim. Sitting at a console, he found the records had already been viewed. They were stopped at a time not long before the sensors were abruptly shut off.

After witnessing the horror of Anakin's raid, Atrus decided to find Master Yoda and any Jedi still alive. He turned his head back to the security recordings and suddenly felt an ice-like grip around his neck, a disturbence in the force. Looking around, he grabbed his lightsaber from his belt just in time to see a clone fire his blaster at his head. In a blinding flash Atrus activated his lightsaber; a blue bar of energy erupting from the emitter and returned the blast to the gunman, hitting him in the stomach. Leaping into the air Atrus wasted no time in severing his arms. Yet,in a blind fury he continued in a savage fury to turn the being into a heap of flesh. Atrus was not the Jedi he once was his eyes burning in a Sith-like light. "Who sent you and Skywalker to attack us?" Atrus demanded of the barely living clone. "Just followng...orders," Was all the clone had managed to say before Atrus, sick with the devastation he had just made, put the clone out of his misery.

Using the shadows as an allie, Atrus made his way to the hanger to try and find anything flyable. He had to find Yoda. All the latest models had been destroyed, but one older model used by Skywalker during the early times of the Clone Wars was one of few not destroyed. Atrus leapt into the starfighter opened the hangerbay door and lifted away from the planet. The hyperspace coordinates set, Atrus searched out the last known place Yoda had visited at...Kashyyyk.

IC: Lyloo
Location: Kavala

She finally settled herself under a tree on a little clearing in the forest. She turned her pretty face towards the sunlight with delight. She felt herself so well here, yet after a while her mind started wandering off to another part of the galaxy...
She was wondering how the battle above Malove ended. She was sure that the tremendous vessel must have survived the fight. The fact that she was so close to the Ravager and still failed to reach it in time annoyed her. She knew it was a hasty decision to join the battle in such an unconsidered way...But she was so happy to hear a familiar voice again, after weeks of loneliness.
She had no other certain destination, besides meeting Kessa one day, who was the only survivor of the bloody events on Coruscant Lyloo knew of.
“Well then, let’s try to find out some news.”, Lyloo said to herself and turned back on the way she came, back to civilization.

She soon found the information she seeked at a kiosk in town.
“So, the CIS have been defeated.” Lyloo didn’t know whether she should be happy or frustrated about this news. She felt relief that the people around here were safe again, then again she was worried about her friend as well. However, after considering the fact that Kessa was stationed on the biggest ship of the CIS army, she soon relaxed a bit. She had no doubt the Ravager managed to retreat.
Now all she had to do was to find a new ship to leave Kavala and to find trace of the Ravager. She wasn’t completely sure how to manage them, still in deep thoughts while heading for the nearest space port.

After arriving, she looked around the massive port. The crowd and the size of the place only increased her anxiety further. She stood aside for a while, trying to calm herself a bit. Then, she took aim at the nearest desk and peered in through the glass at the elderly man sitting there.
“Can I help you, Miss?”, the man inquired with a smile.
“Yes, thank you. I would need a new ship to continue my journey...”, Lyloo responded, a bit tremulously. She then quickly told him the short version of her condition, how she lost her own shuttle and that it would be important for her to get a new one as soon as possible...with a few torsions of her destination.
The receptionist listened to the young creatures story, a serious expression on his face. After the Sphinx ended her explanation, he considered the situation with a deep humm, then started to check into some papers which were laying in one of his desks cases.
There was silence for a moment and Lyloo was truly getting worried, when suddenly a wide smile appeared on the mans face. “I think we can help you in this matter.”, he finally answered.

It was close to sunset as the little glossy ship left for the atmosphere. Lyloo was still stunned after the process. “That was really fast!”, she thought in astonishment. Those people on Kavala really had heart for those who were in need of aide! She was now the pilot of a dainty ship called the Stardust.

After getting clear permission at the Orbital space port as well, having nothing suspicious onboard, Lyloo was once again floating free in space. She gave a little more speed to recede from the planet. When she thought she left Kavala a good distance behind, she activated her comm once again to send a message to her fellow furball. “Since I’m still in the Ursa system, better make that an encrypted call.”, Lyloo pondered.

“Kessa, this is Lyloo Felvis speaking...once again. Hope you’re safe and well. I was very close reaching your ship, but I got...delayed in the battle. Could you send me the coordinates of your position so that I could find you? It would be very good to see you again!”

Lyloo made the proper settings and pressed the “Send” button on her comm, once again saying a quick prayer, hoping no unwanted stranger catches her message. She didn’t wanted to accidentally give out the position of the Ravager to anyone else in the Galaxy.

Torian: "Yes we have all seen too much death and destruction, enough for an entire lifetime. However, in order to bring down the Emperor, more will be killed. War stories are never boring Alpha. They make us remember the sacrifices that our friends and teammates made. Besides, what we do in life echoes throughout the galaxy. The history that we make will hopefully not be repeated."
Titus: "Aye, I'll drink to that."

Pouring another round.

Torian: "Right now, I am waiting for a response from Admiral Fidelis.

IC: Admiral Gavin Fidelis

Undisclosed Location, ARR

Gavin buried his head in his hands after reading Torian's report. Our first losses... He knew it was bound to happen sometime, and always dreaded the day that it would come.

It's always hard...I don't even know these men, but we're fighting for the same cause. They sacrificed their lives for something they believed in...the same as the rest of us will do.

Gavin slowly lifted his comm and recorded a message for Torian. "Commander, this is Fidelis. I am deeply sorry for our losses, but you know as well as I do it was bound to happen sometime. We will further discuss another operation the next time we meet. Until then, we must carry on as planned. I'll see you soon. Fidelis out."

The Admiral set down his comlink and holstered his blaster. Some time out on the shooting range would give him time to think...

~~~~~PEACE IN OUR TIME ~~~~~
Peace in our time all may now proclaim throughout the Empire. The last remnants of the Separtists have been utterly destroyed in Ursa System.
All may enjoy the peace and security our emperor has promised.
One by one the former planets of the CIS are entering the Galactic Empire,the citizens knowing they will enjoy far more rights with the Empire than under the harsh rule of their former rulers.
*Coruscant returns to normal after the Wedding of the Century*
Coruscant returns to normal after the many festivities in honor of the marriage of Lord and Lady Vader, the Reina of Ursa.
The off world dignities are departing for their home worlds, the streets are being cleaned of the bunting and foo foo, the newly wed couple will soon depart the capitol to begin their new life.
Lord and Lady Vader, two radiant stars of the Empire are perfect
examples of the bright future of our glorious Empire.Their heartfelt affection for each other and the Emperor Palpatine brought tears to many eyes.It was quite evident to all who witnessed their vows of eternal devotion in the splendid Basilica Helera Weg that theirs is the perfect love that all may attempt to emulate.We wish them long life and happiness.
----------
*****The Economy is Healthy*****
Many citizens have had concerns that now that peace has been restored to the galaxy that their wartime employment may be eliminated. Not so! To insure the continual peace and prosperity of the Empire the military will not suffer any budget cuts. It is rumored that when the Senate is in session once more that increases in military spending will be approved by that noble body. To insure the security of the people of the Empire, neighboring systems will be absorbed into the Glorious Empire.
Peace in our time!
-------------
Number #1 best seller cannot be kept on shelves.
The holobook by Senator JarJar Binks, 'The Speeches and Political Life of Padme Amidala' are being grabbed off the shelves as soon as the holos appear.
Our reviewer, Oger Trebe gives the holo a thumbs up.
"Senator Binks may not be able to say two words without tripping over his tongue, but he does appear to have a talent for the written word."
The book begins with the young Amidala giving her very first public speech in the Naboo legislative and ends with her last speech given 3 days before her tragic death.
Additional comments by those who personally knew Amidala are included within each chapter.
It is not a holo one would want to take on holiday,but will lead to many lively discussions in the java cafe or with friends about the dinner table.
-----------
Long life to the Emperor Palpatine!
Safety! Security! Justice! Peace!
All foundation stones for our Glorious Galactic Empire.
After many drinks, Torian stumbles back to his quarters to rest. Soon, his comlink starts beeping. Dragging his body out of his bunk, he grabs the comm., “Yes.”
Sir, we have received a recorded transmission from Admiral Fidelis.
“Thank you, I will be there shortly.”
Putting back on his boots and shirt, Torian heads to the comm. room. Sitting down at a terminal, he brings up the message.
Torian knew the Admiral was sincere in his transmission. Shutting down the terminal, Commander Darkeyes returns to his quarters to rest. He knew that tomorrow's hang over would be a doozy.
As soon as Owen enterd the the fresher he was tearing his clothes off and ran straight for the shower once he was in he hit the water tap and washed him self up as quickly as he could, he hated people being late and he hated it even more when he was late himself!
Once he finished washing himself he didnt have to wait long to dry the hot tatooine air did that for him, he pulled a fresh change of clothes from his chest of drawers and got dressed.
"Owen how much longer are you goona be!!!" shouted Beru who was in danger of loosing what patience she had left
"Im done" Owen said as he walked into the kitchen "Sorry im late but trust me this is gonna be worth it"
"It had better be! so whats this suprise then"
"Im taking you and Luke to Mos despa and we are all going to the water zoo!!" Owen said with a broad grin on his face
"Oh Owen thats...." for one of the few times in her life her husband had made Beru lost for words "But how did you manage to get tickets?"
"Weeellll the Dampers owed me a favour he had tickets but couldnt go so he gave the to me to setle the debt"
"Owen thats wonderfull" Beru said she then gave her husband a full kiss on the lips.
The water zoo in Mos Despa was the hotest tourist atraction on Tatooine due to the lack of water it had a 4 month waiting list for tickets so for Owen to have gotten these tickets was the best news Beru had heard well since Luke was given to them.
Owen broke away from the kiss to say "As much as im enjoying that I think we better go"
"Yes your right" Beru was almost heady with excitment
With that the the three of them made there way to the speeder in the garage Owen looked down at Luke who was now fast asleep in his carry cot and just smiled to himself, and he thought to himself well i spose you've had a long day
more to come
IC: Anakin, Lord Vader, R.U. and Marie-Celeste, Lady Vader, R.U.
LOCATION: bedroom, Royal Apartments of the Ursean Embassy, Imperial Palace Outer Office of the HIM, Palpatine I, Imperator Galaxus
The Coruscant sun broke quietly through the protective louvers of the large window opposite the bed, the pale pink bespoke the rain that fell an hour before. The rays were breaking through under the cloud cover as Lord Vader turned in his sleep from the impending day.
Soft, warm – degrees kinetic, indicated a normal temperature for a human, he smiled and snuggled closer. She turned on her pillow and moaned softly. He ventured a quick gaze, then slammed his eyes shut. Hum! This was a late morning for Celeste. Well, if something had been amiss, they would have been woken. Anakin felt her waking and spoke, “Feeling better?”
“Yes,” she said as she wound her arms about his waist and put her warm face to his chest. For some reason, he was struck by the reassuring and comforting sense of the touch of warmth to warmth and their intimacy became infused with the sense of the precious and he was reminded of the conversation he had with Sidious the night before. The thought’s intrusion made him hold her all the more tightly, because he was feeling past loss and loss that was still to come. The reality had been presented and he couldn’t deny the inevitability of it.
Sitting up abruptly, he felt a strange echo in the Force, very faint and very distant and it was met with a firm voice, one that told him what must be done. “All of them!” Suddenly he felt very cold. Yes, he meant ALL of them. He meant that which was tethered, the connection to that past and that connect lived in him. “He feels me,” Anakin whispered, his lips moving and the sound almost inaudible. So cold and yet the perspiration beaded up over all his flesh and the sheets clinging to his skin were like cloying hands.
Celeste in her half-sleep roused and felt his agitation. “Anakin? What is it,” she asked, drawing the cover up to warm herself. So intertwined in their sleep, she missed the warmth of him, and now it seemed he had gone so cold. She placed a hand on his back and he felt like stone. At her timid touch he turned to look at her, his face lined in that confusion she recalled when he had told of Ventress. “Celeste…I …heaven knows how many I have killed in the Wars! Yet, I have done things…things which…haunt me.”
Celeste feeling the wave of despair sat up further in alarm and pulling herself into his embrace she said, “Anakin…I…am far from innocent…I understand…”
He flung his arms about her suddenly and looked down, “NO…no…you don’t!”
Desperate to stop the tide, because in it she perceived a terrible portent, Celeste interrupted again, “In war, can there be innocence? You know yourself what I did. Ten or 100, is one less than the other?”
He smiled at her naivete. “I have no more tears,” he stated still smiling though it was more a sardonic smile. “They are our enemies. We are their enemies and I have been there enemy, but now, Sidious is right, they have even more reason to seek us out and destroy us, yet…yet…I killed them…and their only offence…was to have been…indoctrinated,” he said as if sobbing, but no tears came. He shook his head at the incredulity.
She did not move, but held him tightly.
“What kind of…what kind of…MONSTER…have I become?...” he became more emphatic, “I…I…felt it…I mean…I knew I had to leave…I …” his voice trailed off. “and then I should not have let him speak…but…but…I did what I had to do…and then…she died anyway!” He shook his head. He was cold, so cold. He had to control this. “I killed them..” the echo grew louder – his own voice coming back to him – but it wasn’t true!
He grabbed Celeste’s shoulder and made her look at him, “They are here, in me, all of them; those little hands. WHAT…WHAT…MADMAN WOULD DO THAT?!...His eyes were wildly searching the face of his young wife, her face covered in tears, and he saw Padme’s faint image superimposed there and Celeste was sobbing trying to cover her face and body with her hands and he could not bear it. “WHAT WOMAN LOVES A MONSTER LIKE THAT!”
Celeste looked up quietly, without fear but resolutely, because she knew the truth of it. “…the…monster’s wife,” she said, her lashes raising slowly and anguish laying over all. “Would you kill…our baby?”
He stared at the exposed woman in his grasp in confusion, repulsion at the thought filling him, but it all fell away and he looked down. “NO…I…but…”
“Yes?”
“…how can it be? And …Celeste…there will be more. Sidious is right…” as much as he didn’t want him to be right, he felt it. He closed his eyes and sought the Force, searching, searching. How can one see in this fractured prism. Anakin felt himself following the Force, growing earnest, and then suddenly finding himself redirected. He had to see past the fracture, but how!
She was still looking up at him, now in his embrace again. His brow furrowed and a half-hearted smile appearing as he brushed her tears away, Anakin couldn’t bring himself to say to her that he would have to safe-guard her all the more, because, however worthy he thought her, she was in danger and he felt it each time he looked at her. For however much he did not want to admit to it, he had seen her, and he had seen the saber and he trembled. Not again! Not again!
***
Celeste stood once again watching him lift away, only it was not a snowy farewell, but knowing and quiet parting. She hated to release him and held tightly as he kissed her ardently. Now his Shuttle was just a dot amongst a few others in the early gray morning of a Coruscant VIP transit lane. She sighed, worrying over what Uncle Dantius would require, never was a meeting with him without incident. One always came away encumbered.
She turned into the Embassy followed by Black guard and tended to the decaying orbit of Jupe. The day would be impossibly busy with the “clean-up,” the resettlement of Gripsholm, the environmental destruction and pollution the war had caused. The metaphor did not escape her. Yes and before her was the request to redesign the Ursean fleet. More resources to the military, “Yes, of course, Lord Talwand,” she said sadly, “So, we must go into the business of building weapons and ships and deferring resources which build our people. We must protect, because it is clear, others believe us vulnerable. Now we will make ourselves a fortress and we will risk loosing the very thing we seek to protect. I understand very well,” she said in disgust.
She saw the HOLONET, a service she never gave much credibility to, not under the Republic and not under the Empire. Anyone seeking information from that source was living in a fantasy. She could see that, and certainly Urseans had ever held informational product of the Republic in ill-regard, nothing had changed. She cut the transmission and left the room in anger. She would mention the stupidity to Uncle Dantius. Clearly, those running public information were ill advised. It was most unwise to post such definite success. If she were to determine, it was best to allow the continued threat. Certainly, it was best to seek strength within the Empire than without!
IC: Darth Sidious
Location: The Throne Room
Sidious looked into the distance as his Apprentice came forth from the Ursean Embassy. His transport was at first an unnoticable dot amid thousands, but as it came it grew until it was a shuttle docking in the Emperor's personal dock just below Sidious's Throne Room.
Before long a chime filled the room and Sidious answered before the announcer could say anything: "Allow him enterance." The announcer stuttered something uncomfortably and then offed the comm.
Within moments the doors to the Throne Room opened and Darth Vader's cloaked black armored form glided into the room.
Sidious remained sat on his throne as Vader knelt in his obeisance. Rising, Vader's blue eyes silently regarded Sidious who was looking toward his holoprojector. The room went dim as Sidious willed the rooms windows to polarize into blackness.
As the shining light of Coruscant's morning faded the holographic projection in the center of the room gained resolution.
The color image of the planet Kalee's crescent hung suspended like Grievous's own slitted sallow eye. Next to the yellow-green crescent hung a wirey orb, itself in crescent light. The half eaten orb had a suspicious looking crater in it. One that looked too perfect to have been made by natural means.
"Lord Vader. Behold. It has been found." Sidious said with portent.
