OOC: A joint post with MOE. Thank you MOE!

IC: Anakin, Lord Vader and Calis/Sin
LOCATION: same as above

He felt the guardian land at his side huffing out a hasty greeting as he shouldered into shielding the lava, "Sorry about the mess. I was held up."

Without skipping a beat, Anakin turned to gaze at the strangely half-dressed Sin with suspicion, "Mess? You are apolo... gizing... uh... for a mess? You're not telling me you had something to do with THIS?!"

Sin was a mess with ash and soot; he looked as black his black attire he was wearing. He turned his back and outstretched his arms to either side of him and pushed away the overflowing of the lava.
He barely heard Anakin over the noise as Sin concentrated on the task at hand. Sin couldn't say he didn't do what he did to the volcano but on the other hand it, he was surprised the Volcano reacted that quickly, it would have taken a few hours for the build up for a dormant or an active volcano. He was in hot water as it is. "Yes." He said simply to Anakin's rising voice.

Anakin let his concentration slip as he turned to face the black-faced man for a moment, feeling his anger blossom out of the crusting flow of his own "molten" rage and watched Sin nearly buckle under the weight he attempted to hold back, before again shouldering it again. "You might have spared us the ... damn ... expense of a landing... as... SAULT!"

"BRA'LAK," Anakin called into his headset, teeth clenched, "Get someone to blast the other side of this volcano, draw off the flow from my side. We need something overhead... to cover... a ship. Anything big up there, get' em down to blast some channels. Get your men off this mountain and see to the ground to air defense installation on the west side of that fortress," he said hurriedly, anxiously looking up to the ledge above and just below the lava he and Sin now held back.

Commander Bra'lak responded in the affirmative though it was clear he and his fire team were under heavy fire from the enemy and Anakin heard trooper "copy" and began to climb once again. "Come on then, Mr. Sin, 'long as you're here. We need to gain that ledge.

***
Bra'lak waved his team forward and spoke quickly to his connection through Executor. His men continued their assault at the fortress against fierce Izvoshra, as he relayed Vader's commands to air support and as soon as the connection ended he said "Come on ... come on..." under his breath before hailing Fire team Onyx and Atin. "Atin, fall back and take your men west of the fortress. We'll join you around the other way. We're going to take down that missile installation. I repeat, fall back and take up new positions west of the fortress...."

Meanwhile overhead, a large Ursean destroyer had entered Kalee's atmosphere and darted toward the mountain, energy beams cleaving the hard rock wall of the north face of the volcano, lava pouring out like livid guts.

Sin was concentrating on this huge task at hand. Sin was about to respond to Anakin's comment then he noted that hazards from above him, he paid the falling rocks no mind as the hot rocks were splashing onto the lava that he was pushing away as some of the drops of lava singed his clothing and could feel the burning sensations coursing through his body. His concentration dropped as Vader yelled into what appeared a headset and returned to his gaze back at the lava. Sin sank deeper within himself to call on any reserves he might have left to attack this oncoming lava.

Sin heard Vader's voice about getting to the ledge. Great! He thought. He grunted as he responded to Vader's call so he started to move backwards. "Lead on, Vader! You'll have to be my eyes, if we want to get to that ledge." He said through his teeth.

The Laura's captain spoke his commands calmly though the ship had also to evade the 'seeker' mines as well as take up a relatively stationary position over the south facing slope of the volcano down which sides the ship's crew worked quickly to incise channels through which they might redirect the lava. The Imperial army had been partially claimed by the vast flow that now lay cooking and smoking beneath Laura's white and scorched hull. "Shields holding at 89 %, Captain... There is tectonic movement, sir. The lava flow is stemmed for the moment...."

"For the moment," said the Captain with concern.

"Ja, minn herr Captain," reported Specialist Lowhetahl. "There's considerable seismic pressure on the fault line upon which that volcano sits. We've relieved some pressure, but sensors indicate it’s quite an extensive fault..."

"Notify Executor and have them relay...how much time... we can't just tell them 'some time soon!' I need a window... a range..."

***

Anakin, hand outstretched before him, as it pushing at something tangible and heavy, trudged up the flat road bead, a surface even more difficult to move over as his boot souls merely began to melt and stick and then to slide, as he climbed further. "Force be ...DAMNED... FATHER," he called out again, anxiously. He'd lost so many, he couldn’t lose Revan – for so many reasons, for something indescribable and for something rather more so; a coup and when there was peace, there would be time for fathers and sons…

Sin was overhearing the comm. chatter from behind his back about the tectonic plates if they will shift again, after the initial quakes it was usually depending on how big the Volcano is but in Sin's rough estimation of this Volcano it would be in ten minute intervals which was a rough guess.
Sin was matching Vader's movement forward with every step backwards, guiding the lava downwards.

Even after the doubt that had so riled him only hours before, the threat of this lose somehow dissolved what had been such a barrier between the ancient warrior and his son, and Anakin, only more determined, the harder the effort required, quickened his pace as he neared his goal.

Sin's face was full of sweat and determination to see this through. "I couldn't but help hear, by my rough estimation, it will be ten minutes before the next shift in the ground," Sin yelled as he pushed the closest of the lava flow away.

The deafening roar of the Laura rumbled in their ears and her shadow blotted out day light and her particle shield shedding the rocks and pelting hot drops of lava from over Vader and Mr. Sin’s climb.

He could sense more than hear the information Sin tried to yell over the roar.

Sin didn't want to look above him as a loud roar of engines bellowed; his long strands of hair were flying about everywhere as the ship came above the two men.

Just as he noted it, the information was relayed from Executor through Anakin’s headset. The weight above became suddenly less insistent as the flow was stemmed by the efforts of the Ursean ship now above them and Anakin enjoined the guardian to quicken and harden his resolve as they neared the top. “TEN MINUTES TO MOVE A MOUNTAIN…MR. SIN!? PIECE OF …” he breathed hard, “FRAGGING CAKE!”

Sin felt their task was less threatening as they made their climb up as well as the ship aiding them in their efforts and heard Vader's outcry, or Sin thought. "That's what my old man taught me about Volcano's, never thought it would become a reality in me in dealing with one, sir!" Sin returned his efforts in handling the situation as best he could under these circumstances.

“Yes, well, I think your lesson in … volcano manipulation is … nearly a … closed chapter,” shouted Anakin back to Sin. “…thank the Force,” Anakin added under his breath yet amazed, hearing that old influence issue from his mouth, making him sound for all the Universe like … Obi…wan…

They’d made it! The ledge! “My Lord Revan,” called Anakin as they began to see the heavy metal blast gates overhead.

Sin's legs were burning as the muscles were pushed to their limits as he had to maintain the same position to get up to the ledge that they were now on. "Thank the Force, indeed." As Sin breathed out.

IC: Revan and Umbrus
Location: Buried under several feet of solidifying molten rock . Kalee

Revan was only glad that the lava would kill them both. Poor Sheekil, though. In his way...he was the noblest of souls, despite his horrible masters.

Umbrus would certainly be extinguished by this! It had taken solid shape...and all solids burn away.

Revan sank to his knees and looked to the ashen earth as the sun was blotted out. He expected the agony of burning death...but he knew it would only be a fleeting moment's suffering.

And heat there was as it came...but it was not enough to cause death...not even to blister.

It was black dark except for the faint glow of the hardening lava that now surrounded them. There was also, in that darkness, the chilling glow of Umbrus's two red slit-like eyes. Sweat dripped from Revan's brow. It was hot, but bearable, in this new made room.

"Wha-what happened?" Revan asked a silly question.

"Even after all your millennia of existence, my young apprentice, you still feel the need to ask me how such things are possible?" Umbrus's icy voice cut through the heated dark. To Revan, the voice was strangely comforting.

Revan found room to stand in this dome of cooling lava in which he found himself. His lightsaber came to life in his hand illuminating his surroundings. The instant dome was made of newly cast obsidian glass...3000 degree lava could be seen just beyond the glass, slowing as it cooled.

"Why?" Revan asked as he angled his blade up sharply.

Umbrus almost seemed to smile under that black hood. "The Force would never let you die until you chose to die, Revan? Did Lord Chaos not infer as much before he cast you out of his realm and onto the gray sands of Korriban?"

"No...not really. He was still gloating too much over the fast one he pulled over me." Revan crouched a bit, trying to gage things.

"Yes. A 'fast' one, and now again, you have fallen blindly into yet another 'fast' one." Umbrus's hollow voice cut icily.

"What do you mean....? I have you where I want you, creature. Now I can end this once and for all." Revan squinted his eyes, drawing the Force to him.

He then lost all concentration ... ))))))((( FAAAAAATHEEEEEER )))(((((( came the anguished cry...Anakin!

The sweat on Revan's brow turned cold and then chilled its way down his spine...he understood!

"Anakin! NO! Stay away!" }}}}| Anakin! You must leave! NOW! |{{{{ Revan said and sent frantically.

}}}}|| Anakin! HELP Me! HEEEELP Me! I'm burning alive!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH* ||{{{{ was what came out from the makeshift tomb.

Revan looked with horror on Umbrus...and then his face twisted with feral rage.

"I'LL KILL YOU!! I'LL KILL YOU FOREVER!!!" Revan roared at the fiend that had been the darkest of his masters. His leap was so fast, so fierce and so well placed that none would have been able to escape it. The blade cleaved through Umbrus from its head down to the glassy ashen ground at its feet.

But there came no resistance to the blade. Revan was just cleaving air.

Umbrus chortled sadistically as it faded from the Lava Room that had been its trap for Revan. He was now entombed...unable to 'save' his son now. Sin could not have played his part better...indeed, he had served the Dark Side well this day.

"Rot now, slow, Revan of the Force. My Beloved One comes to me...and He will at last be mine...unto NOTHINGNESS!" Umbrus rasped through the Dark.

"nnnnNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO......!" Revan screamed into the Void.

IC:Darth Drakoniss, Darth Malak (NPC), Loraine (NPC)

4000 years ago

on-board "Iron fist", Wallach

They were in hyperspace for nearly 5 hours. Both Sith Lords were in their respective cabins, both were meditating, drawing on the Dark Side to give them strength and wisdom. For Drakoniss it was hard to concentrate, he was...afraid of the mission. It brought confusion in his mind. Was Loraine still a Jedi? How will she react when she knew he was a Sith Lord now? So many questions...He didn't like such situations...

A string of blond hair tickled his eyes, he opened them. They were sickly crimson, a maelstrom of emotions burned inside him that made his eyes sparkle. The Sith Illusionist feared that his nemesis would use his feelings for Loraine. He needed to hide them well, bury them deep in the dark void that was his heart. Somehow a piece of their past love still lived inside him, that made him shiver...after so many years... How was that possible...Drakoniss believed that his previous life was gone, replaced by the life of a Sith...

He was wrong...

The Illusionist slowly rose, he was now wearing the simple black robes, his set of armor was put on a mannequin and "staring" at him.

(OOC:Ignore the weapons)

He lazily moved towards it, the sith needed to be ready, he needed to look presentable, he wanted to be feared by those Union people. Only then, they would join the Sith cause.

Drakoniss was ready in 20 minutes, putting on his armor was a slow process. One must be careful when doing so, or he'll risk injuring himself. Finally it was his "crown"'s turn, he took it with both hands and put it on his head.

He was ready...

On the bridge everything was calm, the officers were doing their jobs well and effectively. Some turned to glance at the coming Sith Lord. He was quite an impressive sight wearing his full armor. The swirling cape touched the heads of the officers in the small trenches. The Sith Troopers immediately snapped into attention when they saw him. After a few minutes the other Lord appeared, Darth Malak. Wearing his usual crimson robes.

Both Sith stopped at the viewport, their hands clasped behind their backs.

-Ah, hello there baldie!

Malak narrowed his eyes in annoyance, the man was making fool of him in front of the men.

-I see that you are playing melodramatic again, Drakoniss...

-Tisk, tisk, you offend me, Malak.-he said with a mockingly serious tone. A twisted grin appeared on his face -Was it Squid, that they called you during the wars?

-Squint...

-Squid, Squint...what's the difference...You were traveling with the padawan killer- Zayne Carrick, yes?

-Be careful, Lord Drakoniss, you are stepping on a dangerous route...

-Was that a threat, Lord Malak? I doubt our Master will approve this...

Their eyes were sparkling from hatred for each other.

-Yes, I have traveled with Zayne, he had such a great potential, he would have become such a good Sith, if was guilty for the crimes he was accused...

Drakoniss remained silent, they were going out of hyperspace. He could hear the captain identifying the ship and asking permission to enter the system. It was hard for the man, after all he had expected to come as a conqueror, not a visitor.

-We have permission to land on a planet called Wallach, they said that mother superior Loraine will be waiting for Lord Drakoniss.

Malak, was puzzled.

-So she did know you...

Drakoniss remained silent, then turned towards the captain.

-Prepare my shuttle for immediate take off...

-Right the way!

The Illusionist turned to Malak.

-Well, not to make the lady wait for me, I will inform you if something happens...I'm sure that will be able to convince her to let you come too...

The other Sith snorted and waved him off.

*************

His shuttle was approaching a snowy planet, covered in mountains and ice. "The perfect planet for Loraine..." She loved the snow, she saw it as the purest thing in the universe...Cold purity.

"Do I detect uncertainty in your purpose..." It was Malak's question before they had boarded the "Iron Fist". A just question... Drakoniss will not fail his Master...Revan...

The craft shook when they entered the atmosphere, in front of them gray clouds were visible. The turbulence didn't help either... In the distance an imposing fortress was visible... "So this is where you live now, Loraine...impressive...most impressive..."

*************

They were approaching the landing pad, there was a lone female figure on it. It was her... His heart started pounding fast... Her blond hair was swirling from the wind. Beautiful as ever...

Drakoniss waved off his honor guard, he did not want such formalities...the truth was that he didn't want to be seen in such situation...

The sith walked down the ramp...alone. He didn't feel the freezing cold, there she was... his love, his meaning, his life... He tried to shake such thoughts from his head, they could lead him back to the Light Side... At first Loraine seemed startled by his appearance, she had expected something...different.

They slowly, hesitantly moved towards each other. Drakoniss tried to make himself look ever confident. She was pouring happiness and relief in the Force. It was intoxicating... She approached him...

-Greetings, l...

Before he could continue she kissed him...A long and passionate kiss. For the first time since so many years he was speechless, he was not able to think of a joke, of nothing... The sith just let the passion guide him...

Then Loraine stepped back...

-I missed you Drakoniss...

-Me too...

To be continued...

SGIS Agent and jedi knight Johmer Evanson, bridge of the Haven

His booted feet up on the console, Johmer reclined in his chair on the dimly lit command deck.

These would be early days for the jedi cruiser and it’s complement of crew and passengers, in the star system they had jumped to after leaving the ARR and Mandalorians at Anobis.

The rodian agent, Devon Robie, as captain of his own vessel, had had a better idea of the immediate organisation of their security from outside threats, and instigated a temporary duty roster so that there was at least one person on the bridge at all times.

Johmer had taken this shift, allowing the others who had been up here with him during the night, to rest.

He couldn't help but notice the wrist-thick shaft of rose-coloured light that shot up past his face to bathe the dark pipes and conduits that made up the ceiling, and frowned, for it seemed to be sourced from the right-sided pouch on the tan-coloured belt that cinched tight his jedi tunic.

And he only kept one thing in there: a momento of his most dangerous enemy, Morcia, General Grevious’ daughter.

But she had died at the cataclysm at Malachor. Hadn’t she?

He pulled the ever-so-light, elasticasted mess of shimmersilk, the briefs stretching before jumping/contracting and landing, glowing pink from an internal light, in his palm.

The jedi slowly raised his gaze to the bridge windows, his own reflection imposed against the starfield beyond. There was no reflected glow from the object in his palm.

He alone was seeing this, and it was a message courtesy of the Force.

She’s alive,” he murmured to himself, not wanting to belive his own realisations; “the slitch who took my hand is alive.

Alone on the bridge, seated, the glossy fabric bunched in his one remaining organic hand, the jedi began to shake.

Theed Space Port
Naboo

The Union ship had not yet responded! Was this the 'ship of fools' he had always heard talk of?

Queen Amidala had been very gracious in releasing them and leaving their ship intact!

Dinn spoke into his com once more;

"Union ship, before being allowed clearance you must verbally confirm your understanding of the guidelines set forth for your peaceful departure.

I shall repeat those guidelines:

“Please be aware there are 4 starfighters which will escort you safely through the Imperial fleet, one on each side. You will continue to be escorted in such a manner on flight path NOB 216. Please record the number of the flight path in your navi computer. Along the way, there will be additional Naboo starfighters, guaranteeing you do not veer from the designated flight path.

Upon reaching the border of the Chommel system, your escort will depart and you are free to go where you wish, not returning to the Chommel system.

Your flight will be monitored by both Naboo and Imperial ships.

If there is the slightest degree of non compliance, your ship will be fired upon.

These orders are specific and cannot be amended, do you copy?"

Dinn motioned over one of the flight supervisors, deliberately not turning his receiver off, so the Union pilot may hear his message. "Notify the starfighters on the ground and upstairs as well as the Imperials, the Union vessel has refused to acknowledge the guidelines for their departure."

"Yes sir." The flight supervisor hurried off. Dinn was not one to waste an order!

I think these people have a death wish, Dinn thought to himself. After all this I'm going to have one stiff drink.

IC:Lord Adviser Eddard Dondarion, "Aquila" crew

on-board "Aquila"

Everyone was present, no-one had managed to commit suicide. "Good..." he thought. Eddard could sense the crew's rage against the Naboo, they had humiliated them. Even the Honor Guards, or as it was their true name The Death Corps, behind their masks could not conceal their outrage. The commander could not restrain himself and said to the Truthsayer.

-Lord Adviser, don't these people see the true light? Don't they see that we are the true Masters?! Such petty laws are irrelevant to us! We are the Union of the Great Houses! We are the rightful rulers!

Dondarion gently smiled.

-Now, now commander, the outsiders live in darkness, it is our duty to enlighten them, so we must be patient. They are like naughty children, in time they will see the truth...-he needed to speak and think like these people.

The commander's short speech represented the whole crew's, it reflected the wrongness of the teachings in the Union. Somewhere in the past, the principles of the Greater Good were twisted in such a horrible manner, making these people believe that they should rule the Galaxy...They believed the Union was omnipotent and that their duchess will lead them to victory. It was a sad thing that only a few knew the truth, the Union must reform if it is to survive the coming storm.

Everyone gathered for their litanies to calm themselves...Eddard heard the supervisor's voice over the comm. unit instructing them. No-one from the crew reacted, they were concentrated on their chants. Then the man threatened them again...

"Notify the starfighters on the ground and upstairs as well as the Imperials, the Union vessel has refused to acknowledge the guidelines for their departure."

The Truthsayer switched on the communications unit but didn't say anything, he wanted Dinn to hear what was happening.

The litanies begun with: "From the lightning and the tempest, Greater Good deliver us!" continuing with:

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."

There was a short pause where Eddard broke the silence.

-I don't think, this is the right time to threaten us, supervisor...

Date Posted: 7/7 5:50am Subject: RE: The Galaxy at War Part III: Schism of the Sith
IC: Mister Kleen, Rebecca the Medic, Chemise Rose
Location: Mygeeto

Kleen woke up with a start, his neck aching and the heavy helmet and macro-binocular visor that Imperial gunners had to wear, heavy on his head and pulling down to one side.

First up, he was ALIVE!

He was still securely strapped into the bucket seat just inside his own personal transparisteel bubble set into the side of his Lancer-class frigate, and just outside the reinforced hexagonal port, a compact, but powerful, Taim & Bak Gx-7 four-barrelled quad laser cannon, sat, ready for him to take command once more.

When they had burst from hyperspace, the view, as now, had been a mess of vulture droids, TIEs, and a few huge star destroyers; but the devastating scarlet beam, brighter than the glow of a sun, that had struck nearby along the hull, had come from beyond!
True, if he looked towards that area now, he could not see any stars, as if something dark were obstructing the view.

Like his peers, he roundly hated the heavy helmet, but he was in no doubt that the cumbersome accessory had saved his sight!

Moving himself back into position, and slipping his gloved hands back around the control grips, he looked outside.

Travelling on streams of blue light, eight missiles turned in unison, and aimed unerringly towards him. Then green laser from the left destroyed one, a trio of the TIEs responsible flashing past, presumably to come round for another pass, but it would be too late, he guessed, too late before the final missiles struck.

Kleen re-activated his guns bringing them and the targeting system up to bear on the weapons; they would be easier to hit by the second as they got closer.
Twin blasts of red laser shot forth, their barrels ratchetting back owards him, so that their blowback didn’t flash-seal the unfired barrels; then the right pair fired, microseconds later, and they continued in that alternating fashion as he tracked an oncoming missile, blasted it to fiery dust, and went after another, nailing that one too!

Like fish in a barrel.

There was a momentary blue shimmer in front him as the shields went up, instantly cheering him with the extra barrier of defense, and horrifying him at how exposed he had been a moment before.

Then the impossible happened – the remaining projectiles broke up by themselves, and shedding curved panelling to disgorge football-sized spheres into the vacuum like sinister pollen.

“Oookay,” he voiced with uncertainty.

White light spilled into the gun compartment from behind as the door slid open unexpectedly, and a woman he recognised – concerned face, brown hair intricately braided about her head, white tunic with green left sleeve denoting Medical Services.

“Rebecca? Can I help you?” He squinted against the new light, knowing his ‘night vision’ might be ruined.

Sent to check on you; you weren’t answering your comlink. In fact, none of the gunners on this side are.

Kleen glanced at his communicator panel set into the wall beyond her. Both lights above the small square speaker grille were dark.

“Guess the comm line got knocked offline when we took that hit. Actually, I’m glad you’re here; any chance of cup of tea?” He teased with a grin.

He looked up at her for reaction, but she was staring out the window. “’Becca?”

Is that supposed to happen?

Kleen finally followed her gaze, to see the spheres jettisoned from the missiles on the move. He could see where the nearest ones made contact with the Lancer shields by a luminous circle of blue appearing on their hulls, noticeably widening as the globes passed through the shield!

“Frag!” He swore, and brought the gun up again, targeting the spheres where he saw them, having some successes, but there were too many of them and they were too close by now. Only one other quad-laser on this side was still firing, staccato crimson fire pumping salvos into the bastiche things, floating inexorably up to his window.

Then like hatching insects, the spheres cracked into three, revealing spindly legs, baleful red sensor eyes, and all manner of cutters and drills.
A clear magnetic lock brought them the remaining two metres to the hull in an instant, and both crewmembers could hear the grinding of drilling through the ship’s metal skin as over fifty buzz droids got to work on the stricken frigate!

“Stang, stang; get me out of this harness!” His fingers seemed to fumble with the restraint latches, that on a good day, he could undo in a second.

With her help, he managed to get of the bucket chair, pushing past her in the haste to get back into the corridor, and then turned to help her, but it was too late; the breached window stealing the compartments air and his girl; his last sight of her being her airborne hands and boots before the door slammed shut and cut off her scream.

“Becca-”

Kleen banged uselessly on the sealed hatch, the overhead corridor lights flickering dangerously now.
More doors along the hallway, that led to other gunnery emplacements rippled as their areas lost pressure too, and the high-pitched whistle of escaping air popped his eardrum as somewhere unseen developed a tiny breach.
The chill air in the corridor visibly coalesced into a horizontal twister of spinning gases, tapering towards the tiny rent in the bulkhead. And still the buzz droids kept coming!

He could feel the blood pumping from the ruined ear, as he tried crawling to the turbolift. It truly felt like his vessel was dying around him.

“So what kind of quad-lasers has this thing got?” Stobb pressed, “Golan Arms or Taim & Bak KT-6s?”
“Leave me alooone.” The pilot sobbed, “I didn’t build the sodding thing. I press a button, green light shoots out.”

IC: Captain Kelsey (nrc)
Location: the Liberty, coming out of hyperspace at Yavin IV

Captain Kelsey gripped the controls of the Captain's chair of the huge Calamarian cruiser in anticipation as the countdown for reversion out of hyperspace was called out – he was very anxious to get back home. True, his wife and child whom he missed terribly were not there to greet him so calling Yavin IV home was a bit of stretch, however, he had considered that a lost cause so this was as close to a true home he was ever going to get.

Having gone through the necessary protocol, they had made a transitory stop to make sure they weren’t being tailed, throw off any attempt to take a gander at their trajectory, and to make sure that no sensory equipment had been surreptitiously been placed on the ship.

As the ship burst from hyperspace mode, Kelsey eagerly swiveled the Captain’s chair into a position where he could view the fourth moon of Yavin Prime, almost as if he could move the ship along quicker by willing it so.

The ship in fact speedily made its way, first by going around the turbulent main planet of the system and then by juking and jiving past other moons whose revolutions around the planet were blocking its path it arrived in the necessary position and joined the rest of the ARR fleet that was hovering just over the atmosphere of the jungle moon.

“Welcome home, Liberty,” enjoined the crews of the other ships over the comm-systems with their hearty welcomes.

“Great to be back…., everyone,” Kelsey intoned almost dreamily.

“Liberty, this is Fleet Command at HQ – Admiral Ackbar is in a meeting at the moment, but he requested you planetside for a report when it done, over,” came the order from a no-nonsense female voice.

“Aye-aye,” replied Kelsey, warmly.

Turning to his first officer, a tall Calamarian male, so tall he even hovered well above the large frame of Bryson Kelsey, however, the Calamarians were known for their stature, he spoke:

“Have a shuttle prepared to go down,” he began with earnest candor at his respected and much needed First Officer. In fact, Captain Kelsey has just recently been promoted from Captain of a much smaller Frigate to this large ship after the previous Captain had been requested to help with the integration of the newly acquired fleet from Dac.

The navigation controls on most Mon Calamari ships were made specifically for the body type and the particulars of the Mon Cal. It afforded ease of movement, greater flexibility which certainly gave them an edge when handling these ships so whenever possible, if a MC Cruiser was being Captained by a human, it was seen to that a Mon Cal First Officer would be installed he could advise on all the possibilities of the navigation, sometimes things that a human wouldn’t be able to see.

“Alert Magris Quill that we’ve arrived and have him meet me at the shuttle,” he finished brightly as he stood up and made his exit to the door.

“Oh, and can you begin on a status check of the ship while I’m down there, Officer Vasa,” he asked as was required of all ships just recently arrived from battle or a mission.

“Yes, Captain,” came the succinct reply as the Calamarian nodded in affirmation.

Whistling merrily as he made his way down the winding halls of the ship, saluting crewmembers when required he found his way to the shuttle – a guard escort was already waiting there for them.

“At ease, soldiers,” he asserted as he made his way in, almost laughing as one officer offered his help almost as if he was elderly or infirm.

Taking a seat, he sat straight up as he saluted the two pilots of the small shuttle. As soon as Magris arrived they could make their way down. His legs bouncing in anticipation, he continued to whistle, as he smoothed his uniform, buttoned the topmost button and began to wonder about his appearance trying to gauge if he was acceptable or not as he looked at his mottled reflection in a highly polished metal beam that sat next to him.

IC: Ensign Rosalind Inca, Captain Stan Switek, Yavscout
Streets of Theed, Naboo

Rosalind finally emerged from behind the curtain and her captain stopped in his tracks, jaw dropping.

The proprietor looked across. “You will need a belt with that.

She hesitated, gesturing back to the changing rooms; “I have my uniform-

No, no, that won’t do. I have just the thing.” The slim humanoid reached down into what, at lesser establishments, would be referred to as the bargain bin.

Switek frowned as he followed the alien fishing about and pulling up a leather belt, black with regular vertical slashes that opened to a vibrant gold material.
Even from a couple of metres away, the officer could see that the workmanship and quality were far better than mass-produced synthleather.
He remained silent as the proprietor cupped both hands under the accessory with some reverence, and took it over to the be-frocked young woman.

Shieldmaiden of the Empire, please will you accept this Deathfist Slashed Belt, as token, for the safe return of our great Queen?

Rosalind looked up over the slightly bowing shopkeeper’s head, and looked to Switek for guidance; he smiled, more at her deference than anything else, and nodded permission.

Th-thank you. I am honoured, sir.” She smiled as her delicate hands took the item, feeling the smooth papery surface, and after a moment, cinching it around her hips to restrain the upper part of the flame-designed skirts.

And you, sir, you too were involved in the rescue of our Queen Amidala II?

Switek looked over to see Yavscout holding an upturned palm out to him, a silver, intricately-embossed ring sitting on the fleshy ridge.

“Uh, for me?”

Guards of the Vale squad ring. A token for your involvement, sir. And in times of danger, once you learn how to utilise it, you will find it most useful.

The TIE pilot made no move to grab it; “Imperial personnel are not allowed to wear visible jewellery.”

Then wear it around your neck, sir. Feel safe. Feel honoured to wear one.

Switek’s resolve wasn’t particularly strong on the subject, and he caved. “Oh, alright. Thank you.” He moved to hold the ring up to the streamer of light that came in from the top of the windows, only to discover that the day was fading.

Yavscout followed his gaze. “Oh my! I will miss the Queen’s evening address.

“Oh I’m sorry, I thought you were coming from seeing her when we accosted you.”

Oh, I was.

Switek furrowed eyebrows: “And you are going to see her again? Twice?”

Sir. She is the Queen.

The officer stared at the pointy-eared fellow in some amazement, then shrugged. Different cultures, eh.

“Well then, we won’t detain you. Ros’, grab your gear, and then we can leave Mister Yavscout to his celebrations. And um,” he hesitated at displaying gratitude to a non-human. “Thank you for the ring and the belt. Uh, you have my credit chip?”

He snatched it out of the air as the proprietor grinned cheekily and tossed it back to him.

IC: Captain Dmitri Ivanov (NPC)
Location: VenSD Obdurate (what’s left of it), leaving battle zone above Mygeeto.

Obdurate was limping away from the battle, slowly but surely inching its way towards Huntress and the reserve forces. And frankly to be honest, Ivanov was slightly glad. His ship now looked a total mess; it didn’t even look like a ship anymore.

The nose had gone, most of her engines were out, and the comm. system looked to be on it’s last legs and judging by the sensor officers continued cursing and expletives, the seniors weren’t in too gooder shape either. Most of the crew neither were nor down in sickbay, although the major cases were being dealt with first and foremost which included Ivanov’s second in command Lieutenant Ellis.

Lieutenant Kazama, a young and very promising young woman from Bakura came to stand beside Ivanov on the auxiliary bridge, her small frame making her tiny looking compared to the very tall Ivanov.

“Glad we got out of that one sir. I estimated about a few more minutes and we would have been space food. However sir, we should have evacuated and left this ship for dead.”

Ivanov grunted angriliy “And let the CIS come and possibly take it? I think not junges Frau. Lord Vader was very velar on that” he waved his hand in dismissal, “Besides if we did evacuate, the CIS would have nabbed us and our remaining starfighters in big firefight. And I’m not risking the remaining members of my crew for some senseless decision”.

Kazama nodded in understanding, “We have lost a lot, the whole group, not to mention Captain Perrinaw’s forces. Perhaps I hope, there will not be many more”

Ivanov deeply frowned, “Junges Lieutenant, you have still much to learn about battles. Losses are all a part of battle, to think about the losses clouds your judgment and affects your tactics in order to preserve lives therefore endangering others. There will be time after the battle to assess our losses”

“I understand” Lieutenant Kazama replied, “What will become of this ship I wonder?”

Ivanov had to think deeply about that one “Either Obdurate will be scrapped or repaired, even then possibly not fully repaired. But let us concentrate on the here and now. Right now we are helpless, which please not Lieutenant is never a position to be in. We cannot help, perhaps maybe a mission or position may be given to us who knows" Ivanov was sounding angrier and angrier by the minute.

He was mostly frustrated with himself for not seeing the CIS trap laid out for them, he knew possibly that more riskier tactic should have been taken. But even then, the CIS might have figured those out as well, an interesting puzzle this.

Ivanov looked around the auxiliary bridge, watching his crew work in silence. The night shift crew were on at the moment having been called into service after the bridge had to be evacuated after sustaining some serious damage, the Starfighter Command tower had completely gone with all hands. The crews morale had obviously dropped and it was up to Ivanov to get them back into shape.

“Sensors, have you got anything?” he growled. The crew sometimes never knew whether Ivanov was upset or just his normal self, it was hard to tell with his stern demeanor.

“Well sir, the sensors keep coming and going, but I’m afraid it’s more going than coming. Engineering is trying to get the system temporarily on line but the equipment looks like it’s mostly shot” the sensor officer shook his head, “All I can tell is, there’s a big punch up in two places and unfortunately no escorts have gone with us. All of them are now backing up Captain Vectis’s forces.”

We ran like cowards thought Ivanov, but he did’nt say it out loud. “Vielen Dank sensors, anything else?”

“We’ve nearly approached Huntress group, looks like they are sending out the welcome wagon. Does’ent look like the CIS have followed us either, guess wer’re not good enough to finish off for dessert”.

Ivanov shook his head, “This is no time for humour. Perhaps a good lecture might-“

“I’m afraid you’ll have to hold the lecture sir, there’s a ship approaching, Imperial II class, tag identified as….” He trailed off as the sensors failed again and then came back “Ambivalence,”

“Comms open a channel to them, keep the general channel open to Captain Vectis’s forces, in case we receive any more commands.”

“Channel open” said the comm. officer.

Ambivalence, this is Captain Dimitri Ivanov of the Venator Star Destroyer Obdurate. I see you are coming to escort us, I hope we have not arrived too late”.

IC: Anakin, Lord Vader
LOCATION: same as above

If it was possible, the air shook from all the noise above them, in spite of the somewhat “sheltering” shell the half-tester-like canopy of sagging and hardening lava above them created, only made more impressive as it arched up into the black and brown sky of ash and smoke by 40 meters through their proximity and it was certainly not hardened enough to let up on the vigilante attention to the Force shield the two sensitives were projecting. Thus, the word “sheltering” in Anakin encouraged through his desperate searching for Revan, a slight dimple at the corner of his mouth.

It was eerily less tumultuous here, though looking out, the wind of geo-dynamic forces and that of war sweeping and gusting about them, the wild light display of horrible technology lit the sun-blocked sky from underneath, uplighting the great clouds above in sickly yellow, green and red flashes. Vast ships and small craft darting in and out seemed rather surreal, as if hung against a painted backdrop!

Here was an eerie silence! Only the wind and the distant rumble of artillery and the AT ATs plodding about in the distance, crushing all underfoot and routing a large flank of the Confederacy defense.

“Exactly what… precipitated this eruption,” rasped Anakin scanning the seemingly unoccupied ledge. "You knew we had an assault planned ..." it was painful to speak; the tiny glass splinters of ash Anakin worked to expel from his body, nonetheless embedded here and there, and he coughed blood and bile. It might be far worse he reasoned and continued to take in every detail, looking for what sign, he was not sure.

“REVAN,” he shouted, cupping his hands about his lips.

There was no reply, but on the ground, a set of footprints that moved in a pattern that began to reveal itself to Anakin’s knowing eyes. Lips parted and brow furrowed he looked to the edge of the wide landing and saw what looked to be two footprints, skidding to a halt, and then several running steps in the direction just left of the still open blast doors now crowded with a fat and bulbous extrusion of darkening lava.

He walked the path, perspiration still beading and dry in the toxic heat, his chest beginning to burn with the irritating particles that now singed his hair and cilia, hand extended and feeling the weight he held back lessen, but only slightly and still waiting for Sin’s reply, he looking up in irritation and mounting rage.

}}}}| "Anakin! NO! Stay awa… NOW! |{{{{ The frenetic sending faintly comprehendible, the origin understood with quickening pulse, Anakin looked in disbelief and horror to the wall of lava before him.

Then faintly and growing louder, }}}}|| Anakin! HELP Me! HEEEELP … burning alive!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH* ||{{{{

The scarlet lance drove into the rock face to cause the crackling veneer to crumble as the “revived” lava bubbled out around the painfully slow incision Anakin was making, the drying lava overhead suddenly cracking and sagging further as Anakin diverted his frantic attentions to “opening” the cruel sarcophagus in which he believed his father burning.

Did he expect to find him living, he did not think and only desperately breathed out hoarsely, “No, no, no, no, no,” to growl like wrathfully at the quagmire the lava became and suddenly his will turned to the lava before him, leaving Sin to bow physically under the weight of the lava dam their mutual efforts had created.

Driving a red hot wedge before him, he flagged and drew upon his anger and frustration, on Sin’s, on every impediment thrown before him, on losing the trail, being thwarted by Obi wan, the traitor, on … “I will not fail…” he murmured through gritted teeth, “Father…” he faltered.

The lava only streamed down from internal streams to crust over as he cleaved the black and red obdurate dust of first born matter. “NO,” he cried mournfully, a howl that bit through the furor about them to ring against the mountain and send great black geodes of rock to spill and roll down the mountain and crack like the tears of hell on the crags and outcropping in their paths.

OOC:I am leaving for a week, will be having some important exams, so wish me luck! Anyway I'll be checking the thread on my mobile phone and hopefully will find an internet cafe to make some short posts...

IC:Lord Adviser Eddard Dondarion, "Aquila" crew, duchess Jori Atreides (hologram)

on-board "Aquila"

-We copy, supervisor. "Aquila" out...

He did what the man had instructed, one of the pilots saw that the Lord Adviser was doing his job jumped immediately and ran towards the cockpit.

-Lord Adviser, please forgive me!

-Don't worry lad, we now can proceed to Kaladan.

-What about our guests?

-I will think of something...Anyway, I want a direct link with the duchess, I have to report our problems.

-As you wish sir...

Eddard turned and left the cockpit, heading towards his cabinet, where he could speak with Jori in private. The situation was not good, the Naboo did not allow Stasia to come with him, if only they knew the truth. They were messing the things up, Dennii must meet her family...

When he sat on his chair he sensed the vibrations of the shuttle taking off. It was an impressive sight, the Atreides pilots always flew with such grace and elegance, matching the two-headed eagles on Kaladan. The Lord Adviser could sense the Naboo pilots escorting them out. Eddard sighed and switched on the screen on his desk, on it first appeared the Atreides crest then it was replaced by Jori's face. It was night, as far as he could see, and she was working in her cabinet.

-Your majesty!

-Ah, dear Lord Adviser, I heard that you ran into some trouble, I am glad to see you back on "Aquila".

-Yes, we were detained on Naboo, it seems that in the Union's textbooks about flying, such thing as Code Yellow does not exist, so, non intentionally, we had threatened the arrival of their leader.

Jori remained silent.

-We are now being escorted outside the system...Any orders?

-Wait there, I will come to your position with "Hyperion"...

-The Lord Admiral's flagship?

-Yes, his sister is back from the colonies...We are preparing to arrest House Moritani, tomorrow at the session of the Ordo Administratum. My cousin, Vernius had sent me an offer, it seems tomorrow they are also going to vote for House Ultima, he assured me that I will win...

"Excellent, everything is going as planned..." he thought. After all he had managed to "convince" the House of Ix to take such action. It was a precedent, never before a House will try to elevate another to a position where it will have such power...

-That's...good news! So I don't think it will be wise you to come here...

-Dennii is coming...

It was Eddard's turn to remain silent. Things were changing fast, so after all she was going to meet her parents. He swallowed hard.

-How do you know?

-She had sent me a message, she will arrive several hours before the voting.

-I see, well this changes the situation. You should indeed come, we need to start repairing the relationship with the Naboo. Bring her with you, I need her to meet someone.

-Alright then, I will contact you to send us your coordinates before we depart.

-Take care, child...

TAG:the Naboo

IC: duchess Jori Atreides, uncle Paulus Atreides (NPC)

Castle Kaladan, Kaladan

A large figure entered the cabinet, when she switched off the screen. It was her uncle, he seemed concerned.

-Yes?

-You wanted to see me.

-Ah, yes, it seems that the Lord Adviser had run into trouble, and managed to cause a diplomatic mess on Naboo. Another fault of our system.

-I thought he was an outsider, so he should know how they do things.

-He had spent a lot of time with us, it seems that your way of thinking is contagious.-she chuckled.

-So what are you going to do?

-I am trying to make contact with the leader of the Naboo, after the session of the Ordo Administratum I plan to go for a visit.

-Are you sure, I don't think this is wise right now?

A string of blond hair tickled her eyes, so she brushed it away.

-Yes, I am sure, besides Dennii Sunwalker is coming too.

He raised an eyebrow.

-The psyker apprentice...your friend? She is alive?

-It seems so...The Adviser told me to bring her with me...So I ask you to inform Admiral Helena Xavier to prepare "Hyperion" for a journey outside the Union.

-As you wish, see you tomorrow morning then...

She nodded then turned towards the papers she was reading. Jori was preparing her speech for the Ordo Administratum when she will be elected as the absolute leader of the Union. Her lines were based on speeches of Emperor Palpatine...One tyrant must learn from another...

An officer came, he immediately fell on his knees, not looking at her.

-Your Majesty! The Naboo are not responding!

-Well, try again, tell their leader that I want to speak with her! I want results, not excuses!

The man was pale from fear, he expected to be executed because he brought not so good news to the duchess...Then sprang on his feet and ran back towards the command center of the Castle.

"I hope this time we'll be lucky..."
