RE: Balance of Power: Revisited and Revamped
IC: Satryna Nova
New Republic Nebula-class Star Destroyer
Obi-Wan
, en route to the
Errant Venture
, Near Yavin Four.
The ship was rocked by what could only be an explosion.
Satryna
paused and looked about as she waited for a response from
D'Cannith
. There was tension in the air, but no one was panicking. At least not yet anyway. Still, the zabrak female found that to be a reassuring sign. Fighting
Vong
was always unpleasant business, but she could tell the soldiers aboard the Obi-Wan were serious about fighting and defending what was theirs.
Satryna's commlink became active and she heard D'Cannith's voice. “They haven’t boarded yet.” He told her. Then there was another loud a
thump
, that once again caused the ship to rock and sway. It was the sounds of a distant explosion.
“Okay, I was wrong ‘bout that one.”
There was a brief pause.
“They’re at the engine room.” He told her through the comlink. “As expected. Meet you there.”
"Roger, that." She responded coolly.
Before moving, Satryna closed her eyes and expanded her awareness through the fabric of the Force. Almost instantly, she sensed the force anomalies that identified the Vong. They were like holes in a grand tapestry, marring a Masterpiece with their abhorrent 'presence', or more pointedly, lack of such. As unsettling as the tactic was, it at least pin-pointed the enemy, once the general area was thoroughly scanned. Satryna confirmed D'Cannith's find and turned to move in the direction of engineering. This group was going for the engines first.
Satryna began to sprint. With one hand she swiftly retrieved her lightsaber from it's hidden place inside her robes, but did not ignite it. With the other, she spoke into the commlink again, but switched channels.
"Bridge Command, this is Jedi Knight Satryna Nova. I suggest sealing off the bridge and all access points to the engineering section. Denying the Vong entry to these areas is paramount. If we can trap them between a bulkhead and our forces..." Satryna did not finish that statement, but left it open. Imagining the rest was not so difficult.
"Try to hold off the Vong as long as you can. This is your ship, so naturally you have the homefield advantage. Do exploit it.
Jedi d'Cannith
and myself will be at engineerng shortly. Satryna out."
Satryna gave brief thought to protocol, which she tried to observe. Stepping on the toes of commanding officers was not something she enjoyed, for it did nothing to foster good relations between the military and the jedi. That's why she relegated herself to making 'suggestions', and that , without the use of the infamous 'Jedi Mindtrick'. Right now, they needed each other to survive. Rifts between them would be detrimental to their efforts, even fatal.
Using the Force to speed her along, Satryna weaved almost noiselessly though those soldiers still not at their stations and still travelling the corridors. Within moments, she sensed a familiar presence and fell instep with
Alex d'Cannith
.
"Force be with you." She said greeting him, though still remaining serious. They were not too far from engineering now. Scanning ahead for enemies, she spoke without looking at him.
"We'll need to bring down their interdictor field." She stated matter-of-fact like, referencing the original source of their predicament. Her tone was totally devoid of humor when she spoke again.
"I have no love for Vong raiding parties."

Sadly,
Satryna
would get no response from Bridge Command. They would try their best to take down the Yuuzhan Vong invaders but, as usual, were slaughtered by the relentless assaults of poison-laced amphistaffs and flying thud bugs. The invaders seemed to know more about the capital ship than the crew; this had become a problem throughout the last few years.
Inexperience
. Some of the crew was a little more fortunate though. There were Jedi aboard.
Alex reached the engineering room, stopping quickly as Satryna appeared before him. "Force be with you." She told him, still serious. When wasn’t she? Alex gave her a brief nod, stepping ahead in the long hallway that lead to engineering. "We'll need to bring down their interdictor field.” She stated, with a matter-of-fact tone. "I have no love for Vong raiding parties."
“Nor do I.” Alex replied, gripping his lightsaber even tighter. They were close,
extremely close.
“Do-ro'ik vong pratte!”
A cry shot through the five meter wide hallway as the doors ahead opened, a dozen Yuuzhan Vong cramming themselves through the doorway. Alex grimaced, shaking his head. How had they gotten through so fast? And what about the interdictor field? Perhaps they hadn’t used one?
“Here they come!” Alex exclaimed, a Yuuzhan Vong charging toward him. Alex leapt over a low sweep with an amphistaff, as though he was skipping rope. He landed, rolling behind his opponent and, calling upon the Force, ripped a piece of bulkhead from the wall, using his index finger to direct toward the Yuuzhan Vong. The large piece of metal sheared through the Yuuzhan Vong, cutting the warrior in two. Lightsabers weren’t so effective against vonduun crab armor, but bulkheads were. Alex knew, and hoped, that Satryna had also engaged the enemy.

IC: Satryna Nova

Satryna
joined
Alex
as they quickly headed down the corridor towards engineering. Even as they closed on the section, she noticed that she had recieved no respons from Bridge Command. Someone had tried to respond, for a channel was opened, but nobody spokes. Only the sounds of a fierce battle and the all too human screams from it's victims could be heard in the background. With an audible click and a surge of anger, Satryna turned off her commlink.
How had the Vong managed to make it to the bridge so soon? Had not Alex just been there? Satryna shook her head lightly as bitterness welled up inside her. At least the Vong on the bridge would not be able to take over the ship or cause it to self-destruct. They had absolutely no knowledge of machinery or technology. The worst they could do was to trash the bridge completely.
A sudden burst of sound and movement brought Satryna to the present. Her amber lightsaber fired up like a flare as it came suddenly to life.
“Do-ro'ik vong pratte!”
A cry shot through the five meter wide hallway as the doors ahead opened, a dozen Yuuzhan Vong cramming themselves through the doorway.
Foolish creatures! Satryna thought, as she leveled a contemptuous look at the enemy she hardly felt any compassion for.
“Here they come!” Alex exclaimed, a Yuuzhan Vong was charging toward him.
That act managed to bring a cold smile to Satryna's face. Alex was a powerful and resourceful Jedi, she was glad to see that. He was also an anchor, for she sensed he took no pleasure in killing. He only executed his duty of protector with maximum effeciency.
This was not so for her.
Satryna was alerady surging with the Force as she took over control of the bulkhead doors. As soon as the next Vong moved to cross the threshold, Satryna crushed him, by causing the doors at either side of him to close with explosive force, cracking the armor in several places and breaking the vulnerable warrior inside. Her smile widened.
The female zabrak took a ready stance and waved with her free hand, taunting for the next warrior to step forward. In her mind, she very much wished that she had a grenade to throw in the midst of them.

Alex could hear the sickening crunch as
Satryna
crushed one of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors with the bulkhead doors, his body crushed between the force of the doors and his vonduun crab armor. He grimaced; he did not enjoy murder and never had. An amphistaff came down upon his head, but he quickly activated his lightsaber with the thumb of his right hand, the living metal clashing with pure golden-colored energy. The Jedi pushed against the warrior, using his feet as momentum, parried the amphistaff out of the way, and struck the warrior with his clenched fist. Yes, there was pain as his knuckles collided with sharp teeth and hard features but he wiped out that pain.
Jedi did not know pain. He, swiftly, spun away from the warrior’s head and spun on his heels, the golden-colored blade whipping around to cleave the warrior’s head clean from his shoulders. There was a
thud
, but Alex did not look back. He never did these days.
Perhaps ten Yuuzhan Vong warriors rushed toward him, five for him and five for Satryna. The Vong had always used their overpowering numbers to take down their enemies, but Jedi knew better than that. They were equal to ten Yuuzhan Vong. And they had the Force, a valuable ally. Two of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors rushing toward Satryna, raised their amphistaffs high over their head, poised to strike at the female Zabrak’s head. Alex did not worry though. He knew that she was a master of lightsaber combat, trained by Master Keth, the former lightsaber instructor on Yavin Four.
Another Yuuzhan Vong warrior engaged Alex, his amphistaff in its whip-like form. He came in fast, his amphistaff wrapping itself around the Jedi. He did not worry though. Alex just grinned and spun out of the creature’s embrace, his lightsaber swiftly and expertly slicing the amphistaff’s throat, making it dead and limp in the warrior’s hands. The Yuuzhan Vong’s mouth gaped open as Alex whipped his lightsaber around, decapitating another head.
He took a second to pause and wonder. How was Satryna holding up?
And where in the Force was

RE: Balance of Power: Revisited and Revamped
IC: Satryna Nova

Out of the corner of her eye,
Satryna
saw Jedi
Alex d'Cannith
ignite his lightsaber. The golden-colored blade shone brilliantly, and inside herself, Satryna managed a momentary smile. Fighting alongside Alex would do her good. Very good indeed. She was begining to slowly slip into the growing anger and darkness inside her, born out of too many engagements with the Vong. She needed someone to balance with, especially after
Xardoz
disappeared.
Cold dark eyes watched as Alex swiftly finished off his Vong opponent. It was good to see that the Jedi was not holding back, but rather meeting his challenge with 'equal' force. As the Vong warrior's head rolled on the floor, ten more Yuuzhan Vong warriors rushed them. Satryna's eyes narrowed, yet she did not move. They were no doubt spurred on by the death of their fellow warrior, just as she was, by the deaths of countless Jedi, friends and innocents.
In a single moment, the battle was engaged. Five of the Vong charged Alex and the other five charged Satryna. She wanted to get to the engineering section to secure it, before there was irreparable damage done to it. She was going to make this a very short encounter.
Two of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors rushed toward Satryna, raised their amphistaffs high over their head, poised to strike at the female Zabrak’s head. They were the first to perish. She doubted they knew what hit them, since they barely had time to look surprised. But with a single thought, Satryna had cuased the piece of bulkhead to become like unto a living spinning saw. The large piece of metal whirled at relativistic speeds, which made it's jagged edges as dangerous as fully powered vibro blades.
The two Vong that charged her didn't even know they had been hewn in two until after the fact. The other three at least attempted to avoid by leaping, rolling and even ducking the spinning weapon of death. Their efforts only prolonged the inevitable. Satryna's control over the spinning saw was cold, calculating and absolute. These warriors never stood a chance as they were cut down systematically.
After the deed was done, Satryna arrested the bulkhead's spinning movement and set it down gently with the force, and made it look as if it weighed no more than a piece of flimsyplast. It now rested against the bulkhead wall, ready to be used once again at a moment's notice.
When Satryna turned to see how Alex was faring, he too had just finished with his opponents. Satryna's dark eyes regarded the fallen Vong warriors without emotion before she turned to face the entrance to engineering.
"Let's go." she said neutrally, and without waiting for a response, she dashed ahead. Her amber colored lightsaber humming as she went.

Satryna
was good. There was no doubt about it. She, backed by the Force, had turned one of the bulkhead doors into a spinning, living saw of death. The five Yuuzhan Vong that rushed her had no idea what hit them. At least, Alex wouldn’t have to worry about her. But he had his own problems to deal with now. The remaining Yuuzhan Vong, five of them, had to be dealt with still.
Thud bugs emerged from every angle, but the Jedi was ready. His lightsaber became a web of golden light, obliterating the miniscule, flying creatures. Now, it was his turn. A closed left fist collided with the nearest warrior’s head, lightsaber in his right whipping towards another’s head. He brought the blade around and speared the warrior’s head, which was reeling back from a fearsome blow with Alex’s hand. Two down, three to go. The other three rushed him, their mouths open wide in a scream, three amphistaffs raised high to strike. And then that other bulkhead door appeared from nowhere, cutting down the remaining three, directed by Alex’s index finger and his use of the Force.
He spun around, his golden-bladed lightsaber emitting that hum as it hit with the air. Satryna stood motionless, eyes showing no emotion. It was there, though. Alex knew that much.
"Let's go." She said neutrally and, without a response from Alex, she moved ahead.
“Ladies first.” Alex said, drawing upon his manners. The two Jedi walked through the open door; well it wasn’t exactly open, since the two had destroyed the bulkhead when cutting down the Yuuzhan Vong warriors.
The engine room was large, with dozens of catwalks upon which the two Jedi had just entered, housing four huge power generators that would give power to the entire transport. Without them, they would be sitting ducks in space. And the Yuuzhan Vong were close to doing just that. They had already, three catwalks below, begun their job, having taken down one of the four power generators. The Jedi wouldn’t have much time. They had to take out the remaining Yuuzhan Vong quickly. Very quickly if there were to save the
Obi-Wan
and reach the
Errant Venture
.
Alex reached out to the Force and tried to sense the numbers below. “There must be twenty, maybe thirty.” He stated, looking down below at the figures.

Satryna Nova
's dark eyes narrowed as she peered into the Engine Room. She wasn't looking with her eyes, they were just adjusting to the lighting. She was searching the area with the Force, feeling for the anomalous pockets in the tapestry of the force that she'd come to associate with the Yuuzhan Vong.
Her head turned to look below them, just as
Alex
spoke.
“There must be twenty, maybe thirty.”
Satryna huffed, then spoke.
"We could decompress the entire room and space them, but that would probably take too long and only encourage them to destroy whatever is nearest to them all the quicker. We need to distract them. They don't know how many of us there are. You can start the decompression while I keep them distracted. By the time they realize what's happening, It'll be too late."
Satryna gave
Alex
a hard and cold gaze as she flicked her second lightsaber to her waiting hand.
"I'll buy you the time you need to begin the sequence."
Without another word, Satryna jumped over the railing and began her controlled descent down into the darkness. She ignited her second lightsaber and emitted a war cry that echoed off and bounced from surface to surface. The female zabrak slashed at the catwalks that contained Yuuzhan Vong as she fell, her shout and actions drawing their attention. Jedi were considered to be formidale opponents. Defeating one was a great honor, capturing a Jedi and offering it for scarifice would bring unequalled 'blessings'. Satryna was counting on the Vong's strong ideology as part of her plan.
As she landed, she waved her lightsabers in the dark, between the narrow spaces and issued a challenge. "Come and get me if you DARE, you pack of bottom feeding cowards!"
Having said that, Satryna extinguised both her lightsabers and disappeared into the dark bowels of he Engine section. Not a moment had passed, when the hiss and humm of a lightsaber was heard, followed by a flash of light and the gurggling and anguished cry from an unsuspecting Vong patroler in his death throes.
A cold silence fell once again, before the Vong reacted.

GREEN PROJECT II:
Servants of Order and Imperial Law
Marna_Veign
Dueling Room, Cavalet, Madrine
Few people were able to question an Inquisitor openly and live to tell about it. So rare was the event that some among the special Intelligence division ensured that news of the instance never surfaced. Presently, however, there were other concerns that took priority over summary execution.
"It is often difficult to determine whether one possesses the ability to sense and touch the Force," the Inquisitor admitted. "Should you prove open to it, I would extend an offer to you to be able to join me--training in its ways. And, in the event that it is beyond you grasp, I will leave you be."
He took measure of Marna, as if in his thoughts he could determine her affinity for the Force without ever needing to conduct official tests. Then, he said, "You must understand that this is a rare opportunity to strengthen a power you may possess within you, a power that will remain with you for all time and space."
SAPPHIRE PROJECT ONE:
Road to Freedom
Hand_of_Chaos
Coruscant
It was very much a shadow of the past. Vale knew the scene well. Only a short space of days prior, she had been walking through the Crimson Corridor with an injured Ruhtra at her side. Then, as with the present, she felt many eyes and ears watching and listening to their surrounds.
More often than not, the watchers were creatures of nature. Rodents, insects, avians, and several things Vale could not begin to guess at categorising, scurried or fluttered about. But, like before, she sensed other beings. There were highly evolved humanoids among the scattered buildings and crevices. These latter denizens of Coruscant struggled for survival each and every day.
Slowly at first, Vale began to walk through the street. Soon, her pace quickened until at last Ruhtra began to take long strides in an effort not to fall too far behind his charge. While neither one of them felt endangered, it did not mean that they would fall into a sense of security, false or otherwise. Vale's pace simply matched her determination and was no measure of her possible fear.
As time crept forth the dark sensations Vale felt earlier, while flying toward the planet's lower levels, began to resurface. Her steps altered between rapid and wary, before they finally ceased altogether. Whatever it was she felt, she knew that she had finally reached the source of the ill feelings that plagued her senses.
At first it was difficult to pin point the sight of what caused such pain and suffering. Inevitably, the young Zabrak's eyes were drawn to the street's edges. Ruhtra followed slowly at her side even as Vale stepped toward the wall of a derelict block, part of which appeared painted with red. But, it was not simply red. It was blood.
The healer, who had been so kind, yet meek and shy all at the same time, seemed to be dying. He was not desperate, or bitter. It seemed that he even forced his pain aside as he recognised Vale and Ruhtra, though his eyes were set upon the girl alone. It was to her that he gave his smile as he said, "Thank ... you ... for ... for saving me." As his last breath left him, his eyes closed him not to the world, but to the pain he might have endured had he remained within it.
BLUE PROJECT TWO:
Path of Darkness
Ktala
Zeltros
Mara Jade Skywalker was all for ending things as soon as possible, particularly when the conclusion of certain events ensured the safety of those allied to her cause. Even so, she almost hesitated at the suggestion offered to her by Nizzal. It seemed that the best way for the two to attract the attention of their would-be captors was to bait them. Mara just was not sure she liked the idea of dancing for an audience.
It was not difficult for Nizzal to organise a performance through her contact on Zeltos. Cassie was able to provide both Nizzal and Mara suitable with garments for a show, whether the two Jedi wished to partake in it themselves, or simply bear witness to the event. Several dancers were already prepared, as were bodyguards and security teams. All that remained was for them to take action.
Word was spread through all the appropriate channels and places that a new dancing duo was to perform of an evening within a nightclub Cassie operated. When that night came, it seemed that scores of humans and aliens alike were interested in a close up.
Behind the scenes, Mara was a little nervous. She had elected to play the role of one of the dancers herself. While she had ample training and experience in ways that would allow her to live up to the part, she hoped that Luke would not be among the crowd of gawking patrons.
As she entered the dressing room to change into something a little more provocative, Mara spared a glance at Nizzal. There was no need to voice the question. It was obvious enough that Mara was curious whether Nizzal would be joining her on stage, as Airye, or within the crowd.

Nar Shaddaa, Hutt Space
Knowing not else what to do but stare with wide eyes, the female dancer watched as her two admirers engaged in competition for her attention. The first had spoken with warm promises, while the second brushed the former's words aside, coldly noting that whatever promises the first woman made were empty.
This newcomer wore a hooded robe--oversized. She was confident, her words a rival for the coldest ice; she promised passion and strength, which she assured led to the path of freedom. And, while the promises were similar to that of the first female, this stranger proved the more daring. She openly challenged the other with such certainty the observant dancer found herself taken aback.
The hooded woman's hand slipped into her too-long robes. It was a dangerous gesture. One moment the two women were seeking to persuade, and the next they were all but engaged in combat. A hiss escaped the 'Sister' as the female stepped back and raised her claw-like hands before her threateningly.
There was a low muttering from the Sister. She seemed to be chanting something the dancer could not begin to make sense of. As the seconds drew out, however, the dancer grew increasingly ill at ease. The hairs at the back of her neck stood on end, and she felt very cold all of a sudden. The air seemed thick with some unseen fury.
What she saw next was blue-white lightning. It spurt forth from the Sister's finger tips even as the woman screeched in some foreign tongue.
Mogra watched it all from the bar. She caught the challenge Tyranny issued to the Dathomiri. Yet the exchange that followed was something of the like Mogra had not seen in weeks, if not longer. But, that was not all that Mogra saw.
She was only too well aware of the two patrons, both female, who moved toward the Witch at the first sign of commotion, instead of away from the scene. Mogra noted their dress. Seemingly discreet, there were certain similarities in the way the two walked. They were female, but more importantly, they leaked of the essence of darkness. Their lack of control was distasteful.
Open to the Force, watching with so much more than her eyes alone, the entrance of at least three more females into the establishment in as many seconds was an obvious sign that trouble was to come. Mogra felt each and every one of them through the Force. They were not burning flames like Tyranny and she, but they were fiery enough in their own right.
None of them took an interest in Mogra. The two nearest to Tyranny's present challenger remained at the ready. When their Sister set loose with scorching flecks of supercharged energy they were in prime position to lend her their power. Where there was one versus one, there were soon three opposing Tyranny.
To make matters all the more interesting, those three more who had come in through the various entry points, both side and main, moved in on the action. Though it hardly seemed fair, Mogra decided that she would have to make do with what she was given. She could hardly expect the Dathomiri to summon a legion simply to ensure Tyranny and she might be forced to break a sweat.
Note:
At the time of writing, I have as yet not completed my reading of
Finishing the Fight
. I hope to fix that oversight in the days ahead. In the meantime, this is my contribution.

Tyranny & Mogra
Nar Shaddaa, Hutt Space. The Gregarious Bonfire
The inevitable confrontation was now engaged.
Tyranny
remained still like a spectral apparition while the dathomiri witch chanted...or mumbled. Whatever. Tyranny knew what the dathomiri was doing in essence. Gathering the Force for attack. The dark mirialan's emerald eyes narrowed as she too gathered the force around her. Tyranny was well aware she could have ended the whole confrontation with but a swift swing of her hand while the witch muttered nonsense to herself.
Her decapitated head would have still been mouthing empty words, never realizing that it had been severed from the rest of its body, if Tyranny had chosen to act. Instead, she opted to teach a lesson.
Tyranny watched as the dathomiri gestured with a hand, splaying her fingers suddenly, as if trying to catch her by suprise, but Tyranny was ready. From the dathomiri's finger tips, blue-white streams of lightning shot forth, even as she screeched in her native tongue. Tyranny remained calm and coldly secure and confident. She did not react until the very last possible moment. Two of the dathomiri's female cohorts had revealed themselves and were now in perfect position.
Tyranny's free hand came up quite suddenly, intercepting the lightning bolts. The bright arcs of energy focused and gathered there for an instant before they were redirected towards her attacker. A more powerful stream of electrical streams seemed to race back right at the dathomiri, but before it came close enough to hit her, the bolts dispersed around her and flowed past her, as they were aimed at her two assistants.
Tyranny remained impassive as she sought to lay low the two sidekicks; after the force lightning had been turned back in full, her hand slowly came back down. She believed her redirection and counter attack to be an effective demonstration, but should that prove insufficient, well then....she would just have to demonstrate the difference between supersticious belief in the Force and the vehement certainty of indelible knowledge in the dark arts.
"Is that all....?" Tyranny taunted coldly from where she stood. The darkside began to shimmer all around her like a thing alive, causing her robes to ruffle in response.
"You're missing a stellar opportunity to show her the extent of your delusions. Shall we continue?"
Tyranny almost wanted to smile. There were excitable voices, people fell over their chairs, others exclaimed suddenly. Fear and confusion were on the rise. Even as those in the bar began to react to what had just occurred, Tyranny could pick out another pair of the witch's junior assistants. The odds against her were not necessarily evened, but at least it would be more of a challenge now.
She did wonder what the red headed female thought, but that was a mere passing thought. Her focus was on these dathomiri. Suddenly, an idea blossomed inside her, and a hint of a sinister smile played upon her lips.
"Perhaps your students will see you for the sham that you are and find a better teacher...or perhaps your so called fortune has finally ran out."
A surge of force energy spiked around Tyranny and a low rumbling sound could be perceived for those who were sensitive to the Force.
Tyranny had every confidence, that her own Apprentice would find a way to keep herself entretained at the appropriate time.

It might have been difficult to determine whether the woman was lying. She certainly seemed surprised for the question directed at her. The Inquisitor, however, had come to Madrine knowing who it was that he was pursuing, and precisely why it was that she was of particular interest to the Empire.
"It is the source of the mysterious power the Jedi possessed," the man said, nodding as he responded to Marna. "There have been others who share that ability, though they may be untrained in its ways." Pausing as if in thought, the Inquisitor frowned slightly. He seemed to look upon Marna in a new light. "Will you allow me to test you for this affinity?"
Marna looked at him, trying to determine his motives. "Why? Do you think I have this ability? What if I do? What then?" She spoke her questions in a way that implied that she had no idea if she was Force sensitive.
"Join you?" Marna asked, appearing to be interested. She felt that if this man was up to no good, she would be able to do what she could from 'inside'. And if he was seeking her out for good, well, she could use an ally.
"Exactly what sort of things, besides this training in the Force, would I be agreeing to do? Should I prove open to it, to use your words."

BLUE PROJECT TWO: Path of Darkness
Nizzal/Airye
Zeltros
It was not difficult for Nizzal to organise a performance through her contact on Zeltos. Cassie was able to provide both Nizzal and Mara suitable with garments for a show, whether the two Jedi wished to partake in it themselves, or simply bear witness to the event. Several dancers were already prepared, as were bodyguards and security teams. All that remained was for them to take action.
Word was spread through all the appropriate channels and places that a new dancing duo was to perform of an evening within a nightclub Cassie operated. When that night came, it seemed that scores of humans and aliens alike were interested in a close up.
Nizzal grinned at her 'mom's' efficiency. Finding a place, she quietly sat down at began to meditate. She could not dance the way she needed to as Nizzal. She had to push back all the images and feeling and frustrations she had felt eariler. It was now time for only Airye to shine. Airye, the dancer of light, who had done so in years past. Nizzal pushed all of that far behind. There was only Airye.
Much later Mara entered the dressing room to change into something a little more provocative, Mara spared a glance at Nizzal. As she entered Airye opened her eyes and offered a quick smile. She rose gracefully, and revealed she was wearing something, that led much to the imagination....and much not. With another smile, Airye reached into a small box, and pulled out what looked like a empty bubble. With the touch of her hands however, it began to glow soflty, pusing soft colors as if it was alive. Airye gave a smile. "Oh, how I have missed you." she said gently, and then looked up at Mara. With a laugh, she tossed the globe up in the air, and gently let it roll back down her arms, until it rested in her palms once more. "Here's to good hunting." she said, offering Mara a wink.

GREEN PROJECT II:
Servants of Order and Imperial Law
Marna_Veign
Dueling Room, Cavalet, Madrine
There was something about the woman that the Inquisitor began to appreciate and admire, though he gave it little attention at present. He noticed earnestness in Marna that he saw in few others. In short, he saw in her a quality that he wished to see more of in all beings.
"Join you?" Marna asked of him, in what might have been feigned interest. "Exactly what sort of things, besides this training in the Force, would I be agreeing to do? Should I prove open to it, to use your words."
Whether legitimate or manufactured, there was no denying that the woman's interest existed. She might have denied it as easily as she could close her eyes, but she could not escape the energy that resided within her very being, embedded into every fibre of her skin and each inch of her bone.
The Inquisitor smiled politely, almost indulgingly. "I would help to open your eyes not simply to other worlds, but to entirely new ways and means of living, and of discovery." His eyes never wavered in his gaze upon Marna. So intense was his focus, in fact, that it almost took on an hypnotic effect.
"The Force, as it is, can be harnessed as a powerful tool, a means to an end. It can be touched as easily as water for one attuned to its currents. Most of all, however, it is not an energy that can be commanded for selfish purpose alone, so much as it may provide guidance, and, I daresay, enlightenment to those who are most open to receiving it."

Certain people managed to deliver more surprises than others, in ways and means beyond expectation. Such was the way of surprises, and such was the way with Nizzal. The ease with which the twi'lek seemed to adopt her persona of Airye was almost startling. Mara watched the woman as if Nizzal had simply placed herself into a separate costume not of synthetic fabric, but of skin. There was certainly no doubt that it fit just as well either.
In that brief moment of admiration, Mara allowed herself a silent admission. She was somewhat content and at peace to know that Nizzal was a Jedi Knight, and not an assassin for hire. Both were deadly, certainly, but the galaxy had more than enough assassins, and it hardly needed one with such talent, as Nizzal might have to offer.
Caught up in the thought of alternate lives and possible futures, Mara did not see where it was from which her companion retrieved a glowing ball. Nizzal was dressed beautifully, though, more importantly, appropriately for the part she was to play. Yet Mara could not take her eyes off from the strange item in the twi'lek's possession.
The ball, or bubble, as it were, pulsed in varying colours and hues of diversity enough to dazzle the eyes and the senses. Nizzal laughed as she tossed the floating globe into the air before it rolled gently down her arm. It came to rest neatly within Nizzal's palm.
Mara simply stared.
"Here's to good hunting," Nizzal said, offering Mara a wink.
Under different circumstances, Mara might have expressed verbal curiosity. She and Nizzal were called for their performance, however, which left Mara wondering as to the device's significance. The former Emperor's Hand had time enough to imagine the odd bubble as part of Nizzal's upcoming performance before the lights assaulted them and the cheers brought down the house.
It was time for them to dance, and Mara had no intention of disappointing the crowd.

There were instances in battle, as in other facets of life, where the most assured victory was suddenly transformed into an embarrassing defeat. For the Dathomiri Witches locked in combat against Tyranny, it was such a time. They fought as one cohesive unit, yet were no match for the power and control of their opposition.
What a spectacular show it was for the crowd, those patrons so taken with fright that they fled at the first sight of lightning as it streaked through the air; and, those who were so terrified they froze in awe with eyes wide and hearts beating heedlessly to the drumming fear pounding within their corporeal hearts. They were as much paralysed by Tyranny's utter display of dominance as those who thought to challenge her.
Tyranny's free hand came up quite suddenly, intercepting the lightning bolts. The bright arcs of energy focused and gathered there for an instant before they were redirected towards her attacker. A more powerful stream of electric energy seemed to race back right at the Dathomiri, but before it came close enough to hit her, the bolts dispersed around her and rushed against her companions. Those two were wrapped up in such a wicked display of crackling light it seemed they were doused with blue flame.
When they fell, they writhed like mortally wounded serpents in their final throes of life.
The only one of their ranks who remained standing before Tyranny was their apparent leader and spokesperson. It was she who Tyranny chose to address the next words, voiced so clearly as to leave no sense for misinterpretation.
"Is that all?" Tyranny taunted coldly, from where she stood. The Force swirled and began to shimmer in such a darkness it seemed all around her like a thing alive, causing her robes to ruffle and flutter in response to the brewing energies. "You're missing a stellar opportunity to show her the extent of your delusions. Shall we continue?"
As the various patrons within the bar began to gather their wits and scatter, that is, those who
were able
to gather what little spine they possessed to muster any movement at all, Tyranny spared an idle thought for the red-headed dancer. What the young woman thought of it all, the dark lady could not determine. Yet the Mirialan's mind called for her redirected attention.
"Perhaps your students will see you for the sham that you are and find a better teacher," Tyranny pressed, a smile upon her lips. "Or perhaps your so-called fortune has finally run out."
As if to underscore her words, the surging energy about Tyranny spiked to new heights. A low rumbling began through the currents of the Force, a thunder that grew more powerful and undeniable as the moments vanished into the past.
At this the Dathomiri hesitated, not simply for her earlier surprise at being so utterly countered, but also for the growing power her opponent threatened to set loose upon any who might present further defiance.
She glanced toward her sisters, the witches who had moved toward Mogra, and enacted a slight gesture with her head. It might have been a flick of dismissal, as much as an admission of defeat. Whatever it was, the Witches ceased their advance and began to return to the shadowy recesses from which they came.
They waited only long enough to ensure they could leave with their leader alive, before they finally disappeared. But, by that time, hardly anyone else remained within the establishment at all. There were a few other dancers, these more brave than most; the bartender huddled behind the safety of his service bench, hidden from all except those who sensed his cowardice through the Force; and, the last of the patrons who finally managed to overcome their frozen senses so that they might breathe contained relief that they were not caught in the cross-fire.
"You're stronger than they are," said the redhead in a whisper, her eyes upon the bar. "You have control and power both, where they seem to struggle to master either one." Finally, she turned to look at Tyranny. The young woman could not hold that hooded gaze for very long, however, and her eyes were soon downcast. "Please, take me with you. Save me from this."
Mogra, meanwhile, watched it all with what might be construed as detachment. Perhaps that was precisely what it was. Despite her well-guarded thoughts and feelings, regardless of all that had transpired mere moments ago, her mind remained sharpened. She felt more than saw the Dathomirir as they regrouped. The Night Sisters had been defeated for the moment, though they were hardly vanquished.
I am happy to skip the rest of this scene if it might please you to step forth to the next leg of this little plot line.

RE: Balance of Power: Revisited and Revamped
SAPPHIRE PROJECT ONE: Road to Freedom Vale - Coruscant
Vale felt as if she was walking the shadows of events far to recent. Vale knew the scene well. Only a short space of days prior, she had been walking through the Crimson Corridor with an injured Ruhtra at her side. Then, as with the present, she felt many eyes and ears watching and listening to their surrounds. She hated it. She also wondered what where they so afraid of? More often than not, the watchers were creatures of nature. Rodents, insects, avians, and several things Vale could not begin to guess at categorising, scurried or fluttered about. But, like before, she sensed other beings. There were highly evolved humanoids among the scattered buildings and crevices. These latter denizens of Coruscant struggled for survival each and every day.
Vale had various strange feelings as she walked slowly through the streets. Flashbacks from her past tried to push their way forward, but she kept them shoved back within the dark corners of her mind. Now, she had to concentrate. Then the trail began to grow stron. Vale soon quickened her pace, until at last Ruhtra began to take long strides in an effort not to fall too far behind his charge. She was focused on finding what she searched for, and nothing was going to keep her from locating it. As time crept forth the dark sensations Vale felt earlier, while flying toward the planet's lower levels, began to resurface. Darkness whispered to her my feveroredly now, causing her steps to alter between rapid and wary, before they finally ceased altogether. She swallowed hard, the feelings she had felt eariler having intensified to the point she could barely breathe. She walked slowly, trying to wrap her mind around what it was her eyes were seeing. The pain and suffering she felt coming from the area was palitable, and almost painful to her. Inevitably, the young Zabrak's eyes were drawn to the street's edges. Ruhtra followed slowly at her side even as Vale stepped toward the wall of a derelict block, part of which appeared painted with red. But, it was not simply red. It was blood. Eyes widened, and then narrowed at the sight before her. She felt a knot rise within in throat, as she took a step forward.
The healer, who had been so kind, yet meek and shy all at the same time, seemed to be dying. He was not desperate, or bitter.
Vale's mind didnt want to believe it. They tried so hard to find him and now.... Vale noticed that he seemed to recognised Vale and Ruhtra, though his eyes were set Vale alone. It was to her that he gave his smile as he said,
"Thank ... you ... for ... for saving me."
Saving him? Vale didnt understand. But it was a question she would never get to ask, as while she watched, his last breath left him, and his eyes closed.
Vale whirled around and looked at Ruhtra, eyes wide now. She had felt such things before. The day Ruhtra had found her. She remembered it now. Her tiny fist were closed so tightly, that she dug her nails into her hands, but she paid it no mind. She took a timid step forward, looking at the man, before she looked back at Rutra. "He's....he's not dead, is he?" she asked. She shook, but it was not in fear. It was in raw anger. She turned and looked at the healer who had been so nice to them. "Its...its..not fair." she murored at first. And then her voice shreeked much highter.
"ITS NOT FAIR!"
Vale stamped her foot, as she felt her anger rise. She literally all but howeled to the streets around her. "YOU COWARDS! TOGETHER YOU COULD HAVE HELPED. BUT INSTEAD YOU LEFT HIM. ALL HE WANTED TO DO WAS HELP! YOU DIDN'T DESERVE IT!"
Vale was not conscious of anything around her. She didnt care. She was angry even more so than she had been eariler. Was these the same people who had been chasing them? She would make them pay. Make em ALL pay. And make them SUFFER. She didnt notice that items around her began to move in her rage. She only wanted to deliver hurt to something. Vale began to growl deeply, as she flared out with her senses, looking for a trail to those who has caused it. The gentle healer would be buried, but he would not be alone to die, if she had her way.

Marna walked to the weapons case to put away the sword, thinking about this offer.
"This man certainly has a way with words."
she thought.
"Answering me without answering the question."
She turned back towards him.
"I just got on here as a guard, with very good pay. Haven't even finished learning my rounds and you expect me to just up and leave with you to do what? What sort of a life would I lead if I do go with you? Can this Force pay for food and other needs to survive?" she asked him.

Don't mean to interrupt, but how can I get in this? It looks really organized and the people here write really well, almost like writing a story with a whole bunch of different people and variety. Sign me up! Is this like the Census and Games place or do I have to do something to get in?
