RE: 128 ABY - The Sith-Imperial War - The Unknown Terrors
Admiral Dess'uin'nuruodo
Datacenter; Csilla
The Admiral kept his hands still, one on top of the other, and kept his posture straight as the Aristocra explained all of the knowledge he had gathered. Every pause that was taken, hard information followed and with a new light slowly beginning shine on him, Dess stirred inside. The documents he had now seemed to utterly confirm everything he was thinking, but when the word Sith came up, his attention and posture almost seemed to shake the very foundation his thoughts had been built upon. All this time he was thinking the Empire had attacked them, and that much was true, but for the Empire to align themselves with the Sith, and then try to get the Chiss Ascendancy to join their cause also was going too far. In his Imperial Knight days, the Sith were brought up, but only in reference to Emperor Palpatine and his order, where Sith seemed to foster the most. Looking further back through time, it was easy to see what the Sith would go through to get their way, but right now that was only the Force sensitive side him that was thinking about that. The Co-head of the CEDF side of him was starting to get angry. For them to be forced to align with the Empire, meant them aligning with the Sith and there was no way he would allow that to happen.
He blinked and began after the Aristocra stopped. "I do not know what the Sith want and I do not know why Princess Fel was in danger to begin with, nor do I care. My business is the Chiss Ascendancy. The information you have brought before me is shocking and disturbing, but you know as well as I do how destructive this could be for the entire Ascendancy. If we tell the Families that the Empire and Sith have been working together, they wont change their decision and will quickly side with the Empire in fear about how powerful the Sith have become if they have been able to defeat the Alliance and the Jedi. We would be at their mercy, used as tools for their wills, and that is not our people's way."
He paused, but didn't move at all, more to put emphasis on what he had said and let it set in. "The Sith are a threat, and so is the Empire. Right now, I see them as enemies rather than potential allies. We disagree on how we see the Empire and now with this new information, I have to take certain precautions to ensure that we aren't going to destroy ourselves. I have decided mine, but what is your next move?"

"The Sith are a threat, and so is the Empire. Right now, I see them as enemies rather than potential allies. We disagree on how we see the Empire and now with this new information, I have to take certain precautions to ensure that we aren't going to destroy ourselves. I have decided mine, but what is your next move?"
Fehlaaur eyed the Admiral. Then gave him serious nod.
"The alliance between the Empire and our own kind is irreversible, I am afraid. Our fleet already attacks Adumar, defended by Jedi and Galactic Alliance fleets, alike. I am sure this will be considered as an act of war and treated like that, by the Triumvirate. No matter what our personal views on this matter are, we must deal with the reality, the Chiss will enter the war. But the Sith have not been part of this deal. Are they a threat? I don´t know. Actually I don´t think we are their target. But if they manipualte us, it is for a reason. That isn´t so unusual in politics. But must be met by our own effort to unveil such manipulation and answer it."
He leaned back. "My next move will be to support your investigation and try to keep you alive long enough to deliver results." He nodded. "And when I am much better informed than I am now, I will decide what is best for the Chiss Ascendancy and take appropriate steps to strengthen us." He simply said and nodded. "until then, I wish you a good hunt, Sir. We should stay in contact, by any means. When you returne to your shuttle, you will find a com-sequence in your computer that will provide you with the ability to contact me most descrete, should the need arise."
Fehlaaur smiled and then stood up. Obviously he was about to leave the meeting.

IC: Warmaster Nas Choka, Yuuzhan'tar
I would recomend that we do both and neither. I recomend we consolidate our position while advising Yuuzhan Vong that we need to prepare better before attempting again to reinter galactic infidel society. No offense Jedai. While sending some on a mission of elimanating, with a small fleet, an nuisance in the Unknown regions to satisfy the warriors preference to return to conquest."
The Warmaster considered
Laatxiin Kiar
. The Yuuzhan Vong had a point. There were many other threats in the Unknown Regions - the Tofs had never been appropriately punished for their actions - and the Nagai were suprisingly active considering how backwater their world had become.
"A small fleet, perhaps, Kiar, but the point has merit. We can't do just one - doing just one nearly doomed us before."
Bosa Nejeco
remained silent, and the Warmaster looked at him, for a moment. "I suppose you're against a spreading of the war, Jeedai?"

"Philisophiclly, yez. But thiz one doez know that sometimez there is a need to fight. If thiz is one of those timez, thiz one can not tell you, as thiz one is just a visitor here. But personally, thiz one would be more concerned about why your home planet left you out here. It couldnt be from outside threatz, because it has faced much worse. So one might ask himself if it might be something you did yourselvez."

RE: 128 ABY - The Sith-Imperial War - The Unknown Terrors
Caudron
The Colony Vinston
Camper Frey
just laughed at the small and active little Jedi.
“My ship is full of junk, quite ordinary in my profession, I think. Never know when I find the next spaceport. I guess I will have whatever you need.” He turned to get it.
“Oh yeah the ship . . . “ He stopped, as if he realized it may be a good idea to ask a Jedi about it. “Happened three weeks ago, for the first time. Appeared above Kardania and orbited the planet. A week later friends of mine spotted it in the Sector 556. Charged by a whole battle-group of Tof-ships. Everybody was concerned about the Tofs, as the stranger not even shot back. But a week later one of the heavy-cruisers of the Tof was found in space. Floating, empty and undefended. As if the guys had abandoned it . . ..” He said and shook his head. “When I came here I found a hyperdrive signature, unlike any I have seen so far . . . and I thought it might be IT: Better warn people down here.” He walked away, towards his ship. “Obviously I was wrong.” He said, more to himself. And disappeared inside of his outdated freighter. A few minutes later he came back, carrying all kind of technical equipment. “The stuff you´re looking for?” He asked, throwing it to the ground, as if it wasn´t valuable electronic devices.
Strange enough Yosiin had never heard of any of the places the man spoke of. His maps, he knew well, told him of no Planet of the name Kardania and Sector 556 was only registered as “uncharted territory”
Camper Frey folded his arms and watched the Jedi go to work. “Actually is this some Jedi stuff here? People disappearing and so on?” He asked and looked through the deserted colony, his eyes showing fear and concern, while he tried to keep up his calm features. “I really doon´t want to interfere with any of your business, ya´know?” He spitted the green slimy thing to the ground again and chewed on the rest remaining in his mouth. “Don´t want to interfere with anyone.” He said then. His hand instinctively went to his blaster. He probably didn´t even realized it.

High Prefect Krell listened to the men. Warmaster Choka already agreed. That was good. It was necessary. Even he has probbly understood this was becoming a fight for their survival. And his protege Kiar had not disappointed him. His life was probably the one of a warrior, but as the moment showed, his mind the sharp-edged weapon of a shaper.
Nas Choka asked the Barabel Jedi about their new path of warriors, but the Jedi responded most surprisingly. With asking why Zekot had left them. And the hint it might have been their mistake. "Our Priests think the same, Master Jedi. But Zokot has never enlightened us and the gods have stayed silent on the matter." The relatively small Yuuzhan Vong eyed the Jedi. “But surely the Jedi understand our need to defend ourselves, against threats, don´t they?” He asked. Not revealing what he meant.

Somewhere in Space
Cavan waited not long. Would he have discussed any longer with Lord Kye´El, he probably would have missed his target. The “Endurance-Class” Shuttle jumped out of hyperspace at the exact coordinates he had been told.
His sensors immediately gathered data. While the shuttle of the Chiss-Woman lay in space, not moving, but transmitting multiple signals to hyper-space. A rendezvous point, probably. Or the Chiss herself had not idea where to go next.
But in the force there was some feeling of danger. Not an apparent danger, but a crawling feeling of something utterly wrong. Something threatening Cavan, or his mission. Possibly even a greater threat. After almost an hour, he saw the Shuttle readjust it´s course. Following it´s vector the Zeltron Sith immediately realized where the journey was bout to be heading. Deeper into the unknown regions. Sector 556 . . . the middle of nowhere, as far as his maps told him.

IC: Cavan Shenn
His gaudy ship, the
Spiral Dancer
, was cloaked, rendering him unseen to the senses- and the sensors- of the one he was to track. Cavan followed, humming a song to himself cheerily. Even in his own company, the Zeltron was rarely bored. Admittedly, he could have so much more fun in the company of others, but that sort of thing wasn't possible
all
the time.
Cavan stopped humming. Something was wrong. He could feel it in the Force. There were no visible signs, as yet. They were heading off into the middle of nowhere. Cavan straightened slightly, looking wary. There was danger here. He'd have to stay alert.

RE: 128 ABY - The Sith-Imperial War - The Unknown Terrors
IC - Yosiin clan Yusekat
Vinston Colony 44,
Caudron
Yosiin's
eyes went to
Cemper's
hand on his blaster, and his mind reached out to the Force, but despite a background wave of fear and anxiety, there didn't seem to be hostile intent from the human. So the Jawa simply picked up the items
Cemper
had provided. Ah -- a two-fifths screwshifter, just as he wanted. Whatever minor mental issues the human seemed to be suffering, a lack of accuracy when it came to mechanical goods wasn't one of them.
"You not getting in way,
Cemperfrey,
" said the Jawa soothingly, though with his heavy accent and limited Basic it probably sounded more amusing than soothing. "All this big surprise. Not Jedi business because Jedi not know of people gone 'til now. Actually, me not know Kardania. You able show me on galactic map where it is?" he asked gently.
Meanwhile, he was thinking over what the scavenger had said. The aggression of the Tof against an outsider was unsurprising; they tended to attack anyone who came into their space, and often attacked people who hadn't. On the other hand, that warlike nature had also lent them a certain amount of skill in battle...
No,
he could almost hear
Master Carreri
saying in his mind.
This was no simple battle situation. According to this scavenger, the Tof ship wasn't destroyed; it was deserted. Just like here; just like Carnell on the other side of the planet.
Whatever was going on, it now seemed clear: it wasn't limited to Caudron, and it sounded like it related to a species the Jedi and the Alliance hadn't encountered to date.
Yosiin
only hoped he could figure it out before the colonists from Vinston perished.
If they were still alive at all.
The Jawa set the thought aside and settled back to work on the labour droid. The two-fifths screwshifter fit the coupling nicely, and it only took a few turns with the tool to undo the plastron shielding that covered the droid's cranial circuitry.
Yosiin
set the faceplate aside and looked carefully into the head circuitry. These labour droids were designed for simplicity of operation and maintenance, but he doubted that extraction of memory circuitry was a routine maintenance task.
Ah.
There it was. Whatever the modifications to this line of droid, they obviously hadn't changed the cerebral configuration that much. With careful, expert hands,
Yosiin
took a needle-nosed extractor and neatly plucked out the memory bank circuit board from the droid's head. He sat back for a moment, looking at it, then reached over for the datapad
Cemper Frey
had provided. It took a second or two of kriffing around to match the input on the pad to the outload gate on the memory bank, but
Yosiin
eventually plugged it in and activated the datapad.
He'd linked the datapad up so the outload gate would interpret the droid's recorded visual and aural data into a displayable form on the pad -- in short, a video and audio recording of the last three days or so of the droid's duties. He could speed up and slow down the footage on the datapad, and with any luck, he could now see exactly what it was that had abducted the colonists from Vinston, and how it had happened.

Adumar
Command-Ship of the Chiss-Fleet - lower deck
IC: Sey Pachrias
Leaping around, every time Sey thought she had an opening on the Sith, her lightsaber met resistence with a sizzle as it crashed against the wall that was Maleficarum's blade. Her frustration was growing and it was harder to stay within the boundaries she'd set for herself.
Realization dawned on her as the toughest decision of her life came before her. She knew that ultimately she was added protection for the Princess. Her Master's granddaughter, her friend's daughter, and her apprentice had to survive. She was the future of the Empire. Sey's life was going to have to be given for her.
She leaped backwards, opposite the way that Aya had been thrown and waved her lightsaber at the Sith, taunting her to follow. Sey then sent a message to
Aya
Run...with the Princess, NOW
.
Then she was back to battling with the Sith before her. Right and left her blade swung around to block the fury that the Sith was throwing at her. Weaker and weaker her arms came, but she knew she had to hold out to give Aya time to get to the Princess. The red blade sliced into her left arm and Sey hissed in pain as she crouched and swung her foot around to trip the Sith. Her foot connected as the sith had turned to see where the other Knight had gone. Maleficarum toppled over and Sey sprang from her crouch onto the Sith.
The two tangled on the floor, both of their sabers being knocked out of their hands. Sey had never been a grappler, but the thought of dying made her fight desperately. Anything. Everything. To give the princess more time to leave. The Sith would not get to her and Sey prepared herself to die.
Maleficarum finally threw Sey off of her and before Sey could stand, her body was wracked with pain as force lighting coursed through her.
"Knight, you will die here for your actions. A mere teacher could not take out one of the three." Maleficarum laughed as she sent lightning into Sey's body again.
Master Sey didn't care that she would die. She just knew she needed to hold on for a few minutes more. The force was telling her to hold on. Behind her, somewhere in the room a few of the Chiss opened fire on the Sith. Her lightning stopped and Sey's body sagged to the floor, exhausted as Maleficarum dove out of the blaster fire. She called her lightsaber to her and reflected a few shots back at her attackers, stopping them from firing further.
Dragging her tired body to its feet, Sey staggered towards the Sith again. She reached out in the force and felt
Aya
reach the Princess. She smiled, a tired, last smile. "You can torture me here all day. The Princess is out of your grasp."
Maleficarum screamed in fury. The Chiss in the area flinched at the sound, but opened fire on the Sith anyways. They knew their duty and had realized that the Imperial Knight had become suicidal. Sey reached out to call her lightsaber to her and it jumped to her hand.
She was too late. Her eyes widened in shock, despite having tried to prepare herself for this. A gaping hole was in her chest, where the Sith's lightsaber had struck through her, before she vanished. The Chiss forces from the strike team that remained ran forwards, checking the area for the Sith. A few made their way to the Imperial Knight's side. One grasped her hand, "That was very brave, almost worthy of a Chiss." He told her as she struggled to breath.
"Tell the Emperor..."
She gasped.
"I am sorry."
With those three words, her lifeforce winked out.

Sia fought to keep a look of exasperation off of her face. The Chiss were going to inhibit her ability to move around and observe. Politely she looked at the Chiss that was standing in her way and he moved a little to the side so she could pass as she made her way to
Afarmpel.
"Thank you for your readiness in protecting me. I hope it will not be necessary though."
"I think a Jedi commands this fleet."
"A Jedi?" Sia asked, her voice low. Searching in the force to her Master and friend below, she felt nothing but darkness. There was no way a Jedi would work with the Sith. Sia did not even know of her father's dealings with the Sith, or how Bastion had been defended by the Sith. The four Imperial Knights had been on the run and out of the loop for awhile. Briefly her thoughts went to her father, and then she pulled them back to the fight.
"No. Its not a Jedi, but we are made to think there is a Jedi commanding. Trust me, we are dealing with deception." Sia mused on this for a minute and then seeing that the Chiss had a nice hold on the battle, opened up the com to
Ganner
. Before she could speak though, Aya appeared at her side.
"What are you doing here?" Sia asked.

Maleficarum, In the Corridors, Adumar
Grining she stood over the slain Imperial Knight. Brave she had fought. Sacrificed herself, like one of her position should. But not yet she had won. Maleficarum was not yet defeated.
Her twisted, drained face turned into a grim mask of dedication. The Princess was not yet gone. She was still on the bridge. There was still time. To fullfill her mission. To make sure the Empire would be shattered. She couldn´t feel herself on Hapan anymore, and not on Bastion. But it was impossible to know, if she had succeeded there. She would here. Screaming and with inhuman speed she charged twoards the next turbolift. She HAD to reach the Princess. Now that her most powerful protector was dead, nothing would stop her, anymore. if she only reached her in time.
Time, was now her only enemy.

Admiral Dess'uin'nuruodo
Lounge of the Datacenter; Csilla
The Admiral watched as the Aristocra rose to leave. Things had been said here that some would try to use against them and accuse them of treason if they got hold of it, but they had done very well not to say their names or ranks, the technology had been dulled and the keycards were to be destroyed, so there wasn't anything that could connect him to this place at this time with the Aristocra and that was all that was to be said about it. They wouldn't discuss it in the future so it was almost as if they didn't even know about it themselves. He stayed seated until after the Aristocra had left and didn't stand until he heard the confirming ding of the turbolift reaching its destination. He slowly rose from the table and straightened himself up as he walked to the turbolift and contemplated his next action.
The Ascendancy was going to join the Empire, but that did not mean that they had lost control of their fleets and decision making. They could still function as they always did, but he just wanted them to have control over themselves and not be just another part of the Empire, following orders like they were mere servants of the Empire to be used. That was another thing that made his Chiss blood boil. He suppressed his feelings as the door opened and he made his way to the transport and left quickly, seeing no reason to linger that wouldn't cause him trouble. He still had to pick up his troopers that were stationed at the Expeditionary Library, then he had to get to space to really be able to move his plans into actions.

"My readiness in protecting your life goes hand in hand with somewhat selfish motives for my own kind, Princess. Do not think you are important in all aspects of life, the Chiss see you as a bargaining into the Emperor's favour, I am afraid to tell you this."
Afarmpel sneered coldly at the Priness, his nostrils pulsating as he controlled his breath. The slowness of getting to the pods was to be his undoing if they didn't get there quick enough.
The Princess stayed somewhat silent after the musings of the fake Jedi Commander, and spoke only when an uninvited and long thought dead visitor arrived shortly after.
Afarmpel looked at the Knight, the dripping perspiration and dilated pupils of fear that spoke of battles. Afarmpel was far from amused and sought to the know meaning of what had gone on below deck, and where the other Knight was...
"What has happened? I demand to know immediateley!"
