IC: David Teligent

David sighed as his father walked off and shook his head. Alan never shared his feelings nor talked to David about anything concerning him. His father always left him home and left off to go on an errand or a mission. It’s as if Alan didn’t care for his son, but David knew that wasn’t true because he wasn’t living with another family. The young mechanic turned around sighing and walked to his room and packed a few things, then he got the basic gear for the trip. Still unhappy with his father David carried on to the hangar.

Alan had already been at his ship speaking to someone, while he was putting things into the cargo bin. David finished packing and got into the **** pit of a small cruiser. He looked outside of the cockpit to see his father yelling at someone, and David would have to calm him down. In the progress David would be screamed at. Hopping out of his seat he walked over to his father, who looked outraged.

“Hey Dad, we need to go! Clam down” David tried to calm him.

IC: Alexia Rivers

Docking Station One, Wayland

Anna's fingers were tightening on Alexia's robes. Gently, Alexia pulled the girl closer as they walked through the crowds; she too had caught on to the growing sentiment of fear and anger from the knot of beings. Traffic was starting to pick up, too - soon it would be nearly impossible to see from one side of the station to the other.

They really had to find new clothes, fast.

Alexia resisted the urge to look around for the other Jedi. She could see Straven ahead, but Zaydin had lagged behind and Master Adimus ... he had been behind her earlier; no chance of catching sight of him then. Steadily, Alexia wove her way through the crowds towards the clothing store, drawing the Force around herself and Anna again in an effort to stay undetected.

Docking Station One, Wayland

Straven quickly noticed the change in the crowd. Things were not looking good. So far, they had passed without incidence. He needed to get to that clothing store... fast. He didn't take time to locate the others. The sooner they all got changed, the better. His feet moved more quickly as the sense of urgency set in. His right hand drifted under his robe to grip his lightsaber surruptitiously. He didn't want a fight just now, but he would give one to whoever was looking for one.

He slid past the wide assortment of beings gathered here quickly, not even pausing to appologize if he bumped into someone. He saw ships being readied to launch. That was never good. Traffic in the docking station began to increasee exponentially. Straven relaxed a bit as he reached the clothing shop. He took a moment to turn and scan the crowd behind him. Alexia and Anna were easy to spot. The little girl clung desperately to Alexia, and Straven felt a pang of guilt for leaving the girl as he had. Oh well. What's done is done.

His eyes began to roam the assembled beings again. The air was growing mroe heated, and that was never a good thing. Ever. He gave up trying to find Zaytdin and Cho-Shaii after a few moments. It was an impossible task. So, without awaiting anything futhur, Straven turned and slipped into the clothing store.

OOC: *puff pant puff* Apologies, gang. Allowed myself to be distracted with other RPGs, including a decent attempt at getting Xan killed over in a D&D campaign... grin

I also assume that Cho-Shai, turning his mind to the Force, is able to sense something of that driving force that Anna is picking up on.

IC - Cho-Shai Adimus

Docking Station One, Wayland

For about the third time, Adimus cursed himself for a fool as he fought his way through the thronging crowd towards the clothing store. He had thought he'd made a brilliant decision with his choice of clothing initially. It was, however, going completely the other way. He had decided to wait in the cantina to make sure the others made it out safely, then cross over himself, seeing as, given the tide of ill-feeling rising amongst the locals against the Republic, he was essentially a walking target. Most Waylanders were unlikely to have met or been able to recognise a Jedi when they saw one -- the Jedi had been mainly in combat gear when they'd hit the various Sith-occupied worlds, not their regular enclave clothing. On the other hand, the uniform of a Republic trooper was a lot more recognisable than that.

It was when he stepped outside and immediately started sensing the looks of interest, feelings of mild hostility in some cases, and scowls in other cases that he suddenly felt rather alone.
Combined with something else: a black tide behind it. Like something was driving the fear and anger bubbling in the crowd. Like some dark intelligence had fixed its eye in his direction.
Like back on Serenno, all those years ago--
Shut up, he told the thought, and started for the other side of the clothing store.

He was moving as briskly as he could, shifting from one foot to another to get through the crowd. The ill-feeling hadn't reached crisis point as yet - though it wouldn't be long. And the feeling of a dark intelligence driving the discontent was getting stronger, too. This would prove to be a most interesting day. Reaching the other side of the way, he slipped into the clothing store.

IC: Zaydin Ven
Wayland, Docking Station One

Master Adimus finally left the cantina and, after letting the senior Jedi get some ditance, Zaydin soon followed. With Adimus and his uniform, Zaydin was worried most about him being the center of attention of the seemingly agitated crowd and, despite the senior Jedi being of a higher rank then him and thus more capable of taking care of himself, the Knight wanted to at least be in a position to support the Master if it was needed. It didn't seem necessary at the moment thanks to the increase of traffic within the docking station that was making it hard for Zaydin to even keep an eye on Adimus.

The Knight still kept a look out for any trouble both with his eyes and senses. He felt the dark emotions that were building within the docking station, anger and fear the most prominent. Those were easy for Zaydin to identify...but there was something strange. Something that sent a very familiar chill over the Knight that was making him feel increasingly on edge. It was as if he felt something lurking around the docking station, seeming to surround him and his companions despite there being no signs of an impending attack. At least not yet.

Despite himself, Zaydin felt an unusual amount of relief when he managed to spot Master Adimus through the traffic of people and saw him slip into the clothing store. Hoping that Alexia, Straven, and Anna were within as well, the Knight soon made it to the clothing store as well. However, he couldn't help but stop and glance over his shoulder when he made it to the entrance and felt that familiar chill again as he entered the store.

Straven relaxed a bit as he reached the clothing shop. He took a moment to turn and scan the crowd behind him. Alexia and Anna were easy to spot. His eyes began to roam the assembled beings again. He gave up trying to find Zaytdin and Cho-Shaii after a few moments. It was an impossible task. So, without awaiting anything futhur, Straven turned and slipped into the clothing store.

It was interesting. The shop from the outside, looked like it would be very tiny and cramped, but stepping through, Straven's eyes quickly adjusted to the flood of light. It was a two story complex, with clothing ranging from simple work clothes, to some amazingly complex, and expensive clothing. It also looked to cover a varity of races as well. As Soon as Straven stolled in, he was met by a tailored bothan, who scan him from head to toe.

"Yes, yes SIR? How may we help today?"

Straven could see other workers looking over, as if eager for customers. When Alexia and Anna walked in, they too were met by assistants, eager to make a sale.

Meanwhile outside, Anna's fingers were tightening on Alexia's robes. Gently, Alexia pulled the girl closer as they walked through the crowd. Anna smiled when the assistants came over, fawning over Alexia and she. She looked around, as she waited for Alexia to start looking at things. But her eye had noticed a certain dress, and she was looking towards it in admiration.

Adimus stepped in, and the assistants took a step back. At first, fear flickered through their minds, but then the main assistant stepped forward.

"Yes Sir, officer. How can we assist you today?" he asked hesistant.

IC: Alexia Rivers

Clothes Shopping, Wayland

Alexia had thrown back her hood upon entering the store; now she smiled around at the horde of assistants that had gathered around her and Anna. This was actually the part she hated the most: she'd much rather poke around the store on her own and try on what caught her eye, but they didn't have a few hours for that.

"Perhaps you can help me - my friends and I arrived this morning and it turns out we're woefully ill-prepared for the weather," Alexia said, not bothering to disguise her accent, and adding a sheepish grin for effect. Most store attendants were incredibly helpful when they realized you meant to buy an entire wardrobe from them, and the offworld accent might help convince them she could afford it. "Could you recommend anything?"

She noticed Anna eyeing a particular dress and winced internally. It was pretty, yes, but it might possibly be better to go for functional rather than pretty, here ... and Alexia still felt that the 'small alien' disguise worked best for the little girl. Then again ... suppressing a sigh, Alexia trotted over to the dress in question and picked it out. "What about this one?" she asked, holding it up against Anna.

Mikhail;
Tech Shop, Wayland.

Mikhail felt truly uncomfortable and out of place. He knew how to deal with technology, but that was mostly along the lines of weapon modifications. This place however; was a whole new level. No matter, Mikhail would have to try to blend in with the crowd. A task in its own, he thought weaving his way around the customers.

Almost everything in here, Mikhail had never seen before. Very exotic and very expensive, there was no doubt in his mind that a lot of the stock in this place was illegal, but it must be worth the risk with the amount of business they must get. He began to wonder if they sold anything for weaponry. Before he remembered why he had arrived for.

He browsed from one end of the shop to the other, not only was it busier than Mikhail expected but larger too. He stood just before the counter of the shop, the sales clerk was messing around a collection of large boxes ignoring the fact that someone was waiting for service. Mikhail quickly took a mental note of the boxes, a small sticker was just visible with the word. Bozier.

The first thing Straven noticed as he entered the shop was the bright lighting and how immense the complex was. The second was the slightly arrogant and annoyed looking Bothan that addressed him. "Yes, yes SIR? How may we help today?"

Straven pulled back his hood and flashed a smile, all grimmness now gone from his demeanor. When he responded, he was open and polite. "Yes, my good man. I need some clothing. It seems that in my haste to arrive here, I neglected to bring proper attire for my errands on Wayland." He did not let any of his accent be covered. It was a strange one, decidedly Corellian with a Dantooini accent added to it. For the most part, it was very unique. "I need something more for utility than fashion. Simple and durable. Preferably dark trousers, light tunic--long sleeved--and a vest to go over it. Perhaps if there were any pockets or what not on the inside of the vest, that might be better." He paused for a moment. "And, so course, should I recieve hasty and good service, I will need to shop for some more... suitable attire on my way off the planet. One of my position on Corellia does not wear cheap clothing when home..." he let this trail off as he awaited the attendant's reply. He noticed idly that the others came staggering in behind him.

IC: Zaydin Ven
Wayland, Docking Station One, Clothing Store

Zaydin had stepped into the store just as he sensed a sudden spark of fear near Adimus's location which caused the Knight to look and see, what he figured, were some employees of the store that suddenly had their eyes locked onto the senior Jedi. Zaydin hid a wince. No doubt the sudden fear he felt had came from them upon seeing Adimus in his attire. But employees of a clothing store seemed hardly a threat to a Jedi Master so Zaydin just silently moved on to take a look through the store to see what they had, which was quite a lot apparently. With the majority of the assistants seeming to either watching Adimus, gathering around Alexia and Anna, and helping out Straven with his selection, Zaydin had some freedom to look around.

Though he had a change of clothes in his pack that he could switch his robes out for when he got to a changing area, Zaydin thought that he could add something to his alternate attire - that being a simple tunic, belt, and pants - and it caused him to stop at some jackets when he had only just started his search. He could wear his cloak if he wanted to with his clothes, but he thought a jacket would be less suspicious. It's not like there was anyone who could possibly recognize him on Wayland anyway; he had never even been to the planet before.

The thought reminded Zaydin that he and Alexia had agreed to deliver a package to someone on Wayland though, the woman Kelsa that Cypher had said the package was for. Perhaps they could do that soon. Some exploration of Wayland was probably going to be in order and it would help to ask for some local news from a local citizen that had helped a Jedi in need.

After checking the labels for sizes, Zaydin picked out a simple gray jacket and nodded in approval after he examined it. Not very fashionable, but fashion was hardly something a Jedi had ever had to worry about. So with his choice in hand, he moved on to a free assistant to make his purchase.

"I think this will be enough of a purchase for me," Zaydin stated politely, holding up the jacket. "And would you happen to have a dressing room where I can change?"

IC: Angelo/Daemon

Angelo looked bewildered at the woman before him. He had never seen a person, let alone a woman, who wasn't in tune with the Force move so fast in his life.

He cautiously rode the hammer of both pistols forward safely. Then promptly stuffed them both into their holsters. He walked straight up to the woman, to whom he now had some questions he wanted answered.

"Care to explain what that was? I've never seen anyone move that fast, besides my self..."

He leaned against the bar and waited for an answer.. staring her dead in the eye.

=======================================================

Daemon narrowed his eyes as the man sent some of the shards back at him. It wasn't expected that this person was in touch with the Force... but Daemon was no stranger to a threat, to his credit, his blade was already drawn.

His wrist flicked and brought the blade in a sweeping motion in front of him. He intercepted most of the glass and whacked it away, breaking it into more shards but flinging them in another corner of the room. One shard made it past his blade though, too fast for him to whip around and block.

It was headed straight for his face, all he could do was throw his body back and tuck his head backwards. The shard left a long slash on his cheek but did no permanent damage to him. Before he fell to the floor, Daemon stabbed the sword into the floor and caught himself. A grunt and a heave sent him back to his feet and he immediately noticed that the man was gone.

Daemon quickly walked to the window and looked out.

Nothing.

"Strange..."

His attention was brought back to the woman that seemed unconscious. He walked over as he called his sheath back to his hand with a quick Force tug. A flashy flourish and the blade was settled back in comfortably. He set it against a chair as he sat gently next to the woman. He looked her over quickly and leaned over speaking quietly.

"....... Miss? Are you alright...?"

OOC: Well, this shopkeeper's certainly having a good day with all of us talking to him at once ... tongue

Cho-Shai Adimus

A Clothing Shop,
Docking Station One, Wayland

Adimus stood still, once again taken aback in a good way by the inventiveness of the Jedi Knights immediately under his command. The next step, of course, was for him to try and draw attention away from the others so as to avoid suspicion falling on them. So he pointedly ignored the shopkeeper's greeting and stamped loudly over to a clothing rack which had some suitably nondescript clothing. Mostly in a range of black, he noticed; that would suit just fine, and he quickly went through, picking out the outfit that a merchant would wear in this part of the galaxy -- a staid-looking black tunic with the sleeves shortened (later he'd rip off the sleeves entirely; he needed his arms and wrists free for proper Makashi) teamed up with some nondescript brown or black pants.

Having selected his sizes, he stumped back over to the clothing counter, pushing pointedly (although he hoped they understood what he was aiming at) past Straven and Alexia, flopping the clothes down on the table. "I'll take these," said Cho-Shai gruffly. "I don't have my charge card with me. You can see the local garrison captain for a reimbursement. Give him my name, Sergeant Senni Kiffu, and it'll be fine." He picked up the clothes peremptorily and started marching towards the changerooms.

He winced inwardly; this Bothan would be questioned at some length when he arrived claiming a credit chit from a nonexistent Republic trooper, but hopefully with the cap and the glowering expression the Bothan was keeping his eyes averted such that he wouldn't remember what Cho-Shai looked like.

That's what his army of assistants is for. grin

IC: Alexia Rivers

Clothes Shopping, Wayland

Alexia was inwardly amused to hear Straven play the 'offworlder with more money than sense' card as well, but gave no sign she knew him - their accents would mark them as from different worlds, as unlikely as it was to have two entirely separate offworlders arrive at the same time. There was no help for it, anyway, since he'd been mobbed by assistants as well and likely was about as good with faking accents as the Jedi Master. She only hoped that Zaydin had come up with a good (but hopefully different) cover story as well.

Instead she let Anna loose among the racks of clothes and picked out a new set for herself as well: a pair of dark slacks, a light green blouse and a black coat to top it off. Reasonably fashionable while still being functional and nondescript enough not to attract attention. The assistants were more hindrance than help, but they did manage to hunt down a coat that was actually her size. Alexia tried it on with not entirely feigned glee.

She kept an eye on Anna, who was having fun choosing a dress as well, fawned over by an assistant. Choosing a dress, and accessories, and shoes... With a pang, Alexia was reminded of the times when her mother would take her out shopping between assignments. Most Jedi wore their garb exclusively, but Intelligence agents needed to blend in sometimes. Or so her mother had said, but the wicked gleam in her eyes whenever they embarked on such a trip had always made Alexia half-suspect it was just an excuse to shop. Certainly she had more civilian clothing than strictly necessary for missions.

Not that it mattered, now. Calys was dead, and if Anna's mother had ever taken the child shopping, she was likely gone as well.

Cho-Shai Adimus pushed roughly past her with a tunic and a pair of pants thrown carelessly over one arm, bringing her back to the present. Right, the mission. Because it was expected, Alexia threw him a dirty look and turned pointedly back to the assistants. "Right - I'll take these, then. Is there anywhere I could change?"

Qenmas smiled graciously as Officer Velder ushered him to a terminal. Qenmas sat as the officer finished his speech...

The officer gave a wide grin at Qenmas. "I HOPE this clears up any issues about our unit for you. As far as down on the planet is concerned, yes, we know of several Force Users below, and suspected force users, and they will be... checked."

The officer gave him a bow. "Is there anything else I can do for you, Master Jedi?"

Qenmas sighed. Still a restricted feed, and still no sign of the force users. The man wondered how long he was going to default to the fact that the Republic Troops were hiding something. Perhaps they really were being genuine. He didn't sense any deception about them.

"As a matter of fact, you can. Could I see a list of the suspected force-users planet side? I am coming around to believe you that this unit is not harboring suspected Sith. But this does not fulfill my mandate I'm afraid. The Council was quite clear that I was sent to oust the Sith in this area. If they are not aboard this vessel, then they must be elsewhere. Planet-side will be my next destination."

The Jedi stared into Velder's eyes gently. He didn't want to put the officer off. He just wanted to get to Wayland.

"If you wish, I would be happy to compliment your forces on the ground."

He would be interested in seeing how the officer would respond to this.
