IC: Boz
Boz stared slightly at Markus. Part of him wanted to request this man's removal from the team for making a decision that had such huge fianancial ramifications, and the other half wanted to compliment him for his quick thinking in a situation which could have resulted in a lot more casualties than probably did.
He turned when Halon addressed him.
"What? Ah yes, of course Halon. One moment."
He turned back to Markus.
"Well if it was unavoidable there is nothing we can do about it now exactly, but you will need to have a disguise, just in case there's a chance Harth knows what you look like."
Leading Halon over to the other side of the room he folded his arms, prepared to listen.
"What was it you needed to talk about?"

IC: Halon
Q'u Labs
"What was it you needed to talk about?"
"Allow me to speak plainly."
Halon cast a glance back at the other agents, now out of earshot, before beginning with the team leader.
"I was very pleased to see you amenable to the idea of taking all the necessary precautions on this mission, Boz'rir. I believe you and I are in agreement about the use of the pistol as a last resort as well. Now, Q'u explained to us that we could smuggle the weapon on board the Empress by dissembling it into its component parts. But if we are to distribute the components amongst ourselves, I would suggest that neither Ruana or Markus carry any parts with them in their luggage. To put it charitably...I do not wish to see any unfortunate accidents befall our equipment, if you take my meaning."

As one agent decided to tell another agent of his plot against two of the other agents, the Quartermaster set about contacting the remaining agents.
"Agent Kannat, I've already received requests for a variety of weapons and surveillance equipment from your fellow agents, do you require anything in this mission?"
The agents would soon have to make final decisions regarding the occupants of the suite as well as any requests for equipment, information or personnel. It would be excessively difficult to make any changes aboard the vessel once the voyage started.

OOGM: Because I'm as bored with waiting as you guys probably are, if no one posts by Wednesday evening, I am moving ahead to the day of the voyage. All seven of you will be locked in the aliases you gave as passengers of the vessel, and you will have only the stuff you've requested (plus the usual things such as clothing and all. I'm not that much of a pedant). If you later find out that you're missing something, that's your fault.
Naturally, if people do post between now and then, we're still probably moving ahead Wednesday, it's just that you'll be better prepared, assuming you aren't just cut off.

Biting his lip slightly, Boz thought this over. He wouldn't want to promote distrust in the team.
"Listen, both Markus and Ruana may have made some unwise choices in the past, but I have no reason to think that either of them would willingly damage our mission. But as for actual blasters, I think that we're only going to have maybe three for use in extreme emergency and they'll be needing clearence from me to use them, so I think the chances of anyone doing something stupid will be slim. But we've all put in our equipment requests to the Quartermaster and he is more than capable of know what will be appropriate. So don't worry too much, just focus on the mission."
He smiled and nodded to Halon, signalling that he considered the conversation over, and made his way back over to the others.

IC: Halon
The team leader walked back to the group, unconvinced and evidently unconcerned. Now Halon was left with no other choice than to trust his judgment; he had already said his piece and had done what he'd felt he had to. Satisfied, he bid the other agents farewell and took an air taxi back to his apartment complex. There were still certain items that needed to be gathered from home so they could find their way into Qu's special luggage.
Sifting through a bedroom drawer, Halon gathered a change of body gloves, then moved on to collect enough of a supply of ration cubes to last him (hopefully) the length of their trip. From the packed supply closet Halon gingerly selected an external air tank to affix to his back. Should he ever find himself in an environment without air, Halon would now have an extra hour's supply to draw on.
Before at last leaving his apartment for some unknown period of time (and quite possibly forever; Halon never harbored any illusions about such things) he accessed the secret weapons cache. Amidst all the instruments of death, he scooped up a small medicine bottle with Ubese lettering on it:
<Extra-strength pain remover!>
On his very first MI5 mission Halon had been caught without a suicide pill when he'd wanted one and vowed never to make that mistake again.

Stent Kannat
conf room
His reading of Mr. Harth's biography disrupted, Stent reached for his comm as the Quartermaster called out to him.
"Yes, sir," he replied, "two things, if you can provide them. First, some sort of small, stunning weapon, something that could be easily disguised as an everyday object such as a writing utensil. Second, information, if you could route it to the proper individuals. I would like to know anything and everything that we can dig up about Mr. Harth's employer: owners, investors, dealings, as much as can be found in this short amount of time."

Conference Room 11
MI5 Headquarters
Coruscant
1211 Standard Coruscant Time
Day 0
The day of the departure had arrived, and the agents were once again gathered in the conference room. With the vessel leaving Coruscanti space in just over four hours, it was time for last-minute preparations and the distribution of the requested equipment from the Agency's Quartermaster. The luggage of the agents had already been gathered in the room after an impromptu security scan to check for any obvious dangers, and a trio of valet droids waited patiently to cart the agents' belongings to the waiting airspeeders.
The updated ID forgeries had just been distributed, and Q'u was now moving on to the task of explaining the functions of the devices as he unloaded them from the cart hovering by his side, aided by Technical Officer Susa Gren, a tanned, brown-haired woman of average build, her dark red jacket and navy slacks contrasting with the Quartermaster's pale lab coat.
"As requested, your weapons: three hold-out blasters and one hold-out slugthrower. You may wish to practice dissembling and reassembling the weapons a few times until you're accustomed to it; it wouldn't be wise to wait until you need them."
Susa produced a pair of commlinks, handing one each to Stent and Ruana, with a nod in the latter agent's direction.
"These comms have a hidden function similar to a stun baton. However, it takes a second or two for the capacitor to fully build a charge from the energy cell, so try not to get yourself overwhelmed."
Meanwhile, Q'u had laid out a series of chronometers on the table. Picking one up, he held it out in front of the agents.
"Aside from the utility of being able to tell time, these chronometers have built-in audio pick-ups, connected to a removable recording chip hidden in the back, capable of storing up to three hours of sound. The microphone is here, or you can set it to record off a specific communications frequency. It's a passive listening device only, it can't function as a commlink. If you'd like a little more awareness, it might help if you tuned this earpiece to the same frequency, to make sure you know what you're listening to. For more distant targets, use this..." he said, holding up a pen-like object, "... a remote audio pick-up. Simply point it at your desired location, and it will produce a very short-ranged broadcast of the sound, perfect for recording, listening in, or analyzing. Just make sure you aren't being jammed."
"Speaking of which," he said, picking up one datapads. "This one is responsible for Surveillance Detection and Countermeasures. When activated, you can monitor local comm frequencies searching for any data transmission, and produce a jamming field that will make communications difficult for anything inside the field. The field can extend up to fifty meters, so be sure to keep the area small to avoid causing any disturbances. The last thing we need is a communications black-out and a man-hunt for the ones responsible."
Susa picked up another datapad, running her finger along the seam. She softly opened the datapad, displaying a variety of specialized tools concealed inside.
"The essential security kit, designed to allow a trained agent to handle nearly any form of electronic or mechanical security device. Illegal for those who aren't licensed security personnel to possess one, and disguising it only complicates the matter."
She picked up another small case, set it on the table, and opened it.
"By all appearances, an ordinary cosmetics kit. But concealed amidst the implements are a variety of devices that make it into a perfectly functioning forensics field kit."
As Susa spoke, the quartermaster finished placing several pairs of visors on the table.
"Always-useful, our latest models are designed for light amplification, magnification, an impressive spectral range (which I know you'll use responsibly) and even adjustable tinting. Now you can look as ridiculous as you wish to, no matter what the occasion. Couldn't build in a recording system after all the enhancements, so you'll have to connect it to one of these belt-mounted storage chips via a wire if you're looking for something long-term."
"Finally" said Susa, lifting an attaché case from the hovercart "a portable computer. Larger than your average datapad, but with a great deal more capacity and raw processing power. And with it..."
She tossed down a few datacards.
"... all of the information MI5 has been able to gather so far on Starlight Cruise Lines. Nothing there that screams 'criminal', but you might find something useful if you have the time to look through it."
Q'u waved his a hand at the equipment spread out before them.
"Any final requests?"

IC: Agent Solass
Conference Room 11
Picking up one of the visors he spun it in his hands a couple of times before trying it on and shifting through the various visual ranges.
Enjoying the view with a dumb grin on his face he finally pipped up with the question he had been thinking since the begging of this goodbye. "Just one, if this question turns false, did you create any knives to be taken for me to use if need be? And will the ones already in my shoes stand up to the scrutiny this ships security?"

"No Agent Solass, your own equipment will not make it through with ease, though if necessary we could provide a nonmetallic knife that stands a reasonable chance of passing through security."
OOGM: When I say "visor", I assume everyone here knows I mean "glasses". So how does a Balosar wear them... if he doesn't have any ears?
Fun fact: Unarmed attacks by people with the Martial Arts I feat (in other words: everyone but Markus) do more damage than a plain knife. It may seem counter-intuitive, but this is Bond we're talking about. Any of you guys ever play GoldenEye? Everything or Nothing? Knives are for the weak (ok, vibroknives are more damaging than regular knives and Martial Arts I, but those aren't easy to take aboard the vessel).

"Both the stun function and the comm function draw from the same rechargeable energy cell. Fully charged, the stun system should function for at least ten shots."
OOGM: The equipment branch is skilled enough that the number of chronometers and visors is exactly equal to the number of agents who wish to use them. Gimmick equipment for everyone!

Markus Carfax
Conference Room 11
Markus was in a bad mood. Okay, this wasn't a terribly specific assessment of his current condition seeing as Markus constantly operated from a base level of 'annoyed', but even by his usual standards the hacker was grumpy. Since discovering that due to the Alderaan Royal Hotel Incident he would most likely be recognised by this Aves Harth person and probably by anyone associated with him, Markus had been told in no uncertain terms that he had to report to Q'u Branch Disguise Division and submit himself to their interferences.
As a result his hair, which was usually left to its own devices until people started to point, had been sheared into submission and coloured with streaks of grey. He had also been supplied with a visor to wear at all times. Combined with modifications to his behaviour and posture Markus now looked at least a few years older than his 32. On top of all that, his new clothes were itchy.
He picked up one of the datapads and gave it a once-over.
"I'm gonna have to leave mine here, aren't I?" he complained.

"Never mind then." With a dramatic sigh he lowered his visor that he had been holding up to his eyes and removed all the knives on his personage.
"Can I at least get a headband for my visor? I don't think the fake ears will be strong enough to hold them up if there's an actual fight or simple drunken swing in which they get hit, not to mention if I decide to go as myself. Oh, and if your able could it be one of those tastless block sectionals with the elastic between each section? It really would complete the look of these things for a techno head that doesn't get out enough and has watched too many old holo-vilian/heros." Hearing Markus' despair and having seen the new hair through different spectrums patted the 'new' agent on the back with a free hand, "Don't worry old man, I'm sure they can transfer your data. And I've heard of some wonder drug that could help that aging mind to be able to adjust."

MI5 HQ, Conference Room 11
IC as Joss Vendu
Joss ran over his mental checklist as Q'u perused his way through the various equipment he'd have at his disposal. After the quibbling had ceased at Q'labs, he'd made sure to stop by the MI5's disguise division just as Markus Carfax had done. If the past could catch up with the hacker like that, no telling how it was going to come around for Vendu himself especially if Aves Harth had any other information on MI5's agents.
They had seen fit to not mess with Joss's features too radically. Merely some brown colored contact lenses, a good shave for a usually stubbly face, and the addition of a false dimple in his left cheek. This was to just break up the typical pattern of his facial features.
Toying almost reflexively at disassembling and reassembling his hold out blaster, Joss looked over at Ruana and remembered something of what he'd asked her earlier. He whispered to her as Q'u finished talking, "Any luck getting in a call to check on Alisa?" He wanted to know how the kid was holding up to ease his own apprehensions in case something went wrong aboard the Empress.
Joss found himself wondering as he strapped the chrono to his wrist why he'd allowed Ruana to go on the same dangerous mission as him. The odds weren't very favorable to such if something happened.
