IC: Halon,
Conference room

The search results came back negative; Halon would have to try something else.

"I remember there was that Nemoidian from the Trade Federation. He hasn't exactly got a glowing reputation has he?"

Halon's thoughts drifted back to the war, and the treachery of Senator Tarkin and Nute Gunray. Rather than being punished, the Nemoidian had survived the mess ended up more powerful than ever.

"Oh, Gunray? He is the current Trade Federation Viceroy. And if indeed everything they say about him is true, then by all rights he should already be in a cell by now...but he is a slippery one.

Stent Kannat

Stent's memory went for a little jog over the results and all he could bring up was just basic information.

"Well, here is all that I know right now. About the shareholders, that is," he said aloud to his teammates. "Kuat Holdings is a holdings company that represents the interests of the Kuat family, of course. The Galson Group is a hospitality company; whether it is good or bad hospitality I do not know. Millennium Entertainments is a large media conglomerate and is probably the reason why tickets to the theaters are going up to ridiculous prices. Varrada Leisure deals in resorts and casinos; as for which resorts and casinos I do not know but would venture a guess that they are ones on the worlds that we will be visiting. The Saiga Collective is a company representing the interests of several Bothan clans, and I do not know those interests. The Trade Federation speaks for itself. SMR Partners is a Core-based holdings company. Figg & Associates is some company based primarily in the Rim, and what exactly they deal in I do not know. Unfortunately I have only heard about most of these companies and do not have much even in passing knowledge on them.

"So if we want to be outright biased and go with our initial finger pointing, let us start with the Trade Federation, searching for any particular names that link Starlight and the Federation. We should not just limit it to Mr. Gunray; we may recognize some of the names that might pop up."

TAG: lightwarden - Stent searches for any particular individuals associated with the Trade Federation that deal with Starlight Cruise Lines.

ooc: I think that's either gonna be a very quick search or a very long search.

OOGM: Or later, apparently. Essays.

Searching for any links to the Trade Federation was easier said than done, given the size of the conglomerate. But after several minutes of searching, Stent did find one indirect connection: apparently Chief Financial Officer Marhu Sillib had been employed by the Trade Federation up until around eight years earlier.

By this point, the MI5 agents had left headquarters, taken off in the airspeeders and arrived at the Galactic City Spaceport. From there, the agents would take a shuttle to the Empress in orbit. Assuming, of course, that none of them got flagged by security.

OOGM: This is just a brief post that also serves as a point where I make sure we're all on the same page regarding IDs and equipment.

Name: Halon
Alias: Serik of Clan Malex

Unclaimed: Cosmetics/Forensics kit, 2 hold-out blasters, SD&C datapad, 2 remote audio pick-up pens

Speak now or be held to a binding agreement. Unclaimed gadgets are assumed to be in someone's suitcase and not immediately accessible. If you've got anything that would get you arrested, now's the time to mention it. Otherwise, I'm assuming you have things like clothing and toiletries. If you've got simple consumer items that might come in handy, it's better to show foresight and tell me now. If it's something sufficiently advanced and not so easily acquired, you'll have to find some other way of getting it in-game.

OOGM: JANGO, you're the one I'm kind of waiting on here. I'm going to operate under the assumption that Halon isn't taking his armor aboard the vessel, and will remove his helmet when prompted by security. If either of these sound objectionable, now is the time to mention it.

In other news, I'm done with school. On to posting.

The Galactic City Spaceport. On any other world, it might have been a city unto itself, but on Coruscant, it was just another facet of the planet-spanning superstructure that constituted the capital of the Republic. The largest lifeline of the heart of the galaxy, it was the nexus of commercial travel, servicing thousands of ships every hour.

The dull background roar that constituted the bustle of Coruscant had permeated the complex, a barely-restrained assault upon the senses. As the transport navigated through the spaceport, a whirl of colors and shapes passed by the windows, dozens of species, some familiar, many strange. A faint blended scent of hundreds of bodies had crept its way through the filtering system as the agents moved through the terminal, luggage having been sent ahead of them. They passed beneath the scrutinizing eyes of the spaceport's security, in charge of protecting the passengers from impostors and threats. No matter the guise and no matter the reason, no being could pass through the security station unchecked. Halon himself was escorted to a private room by a droid, where his helmet could be removed for verification. In the case of more exotic species, the environmental chambers could match the atmosphere and pressure on hundreds of worlds. They weren't taking any chances; anyone who refused to cooperate would be denied entry.

Past the security station, it was only a brief wait before the agents took the stars. The shuttle rose into the air, riding the glittering stream of ships away from the dwindling spaceport. As massive as it was, there was no landbound dock in the galaxy that could handle a ship of the Empress's size. Up, up, and up they went, past the skyhooks of the elite floating in the distance, past the corona of satellites, past the massive orbital reflectors that regulated the sunlight, past the endless line of transports carrying the resources Coruscant so readily consumed. As they cleared the gravity well, the stars blurred into the chaos of hyperspace, but only for a moment.

Before them stretched two kilometers of glittering transparisteel and durasteel, a radiantly immense construction that grew and grew and grew before them. The shuttle drew a slow spiraling pattern around the vessel, a flight plan designed to model the vessel's smooth curves. The shuttle gently glided into the docking bay, settling down on the sleek floor.

On behalf of the Starlight Cruise Line, welcome aboard the Empress of the Stars.

Markus Carfax as Andriy Hunt

Markus peered out of the shuttle windows at the sheer scale of the Empress' docking bay. He wasn't easily impressed, but even the hacker had to admit that the titanic scale of the thing stood as a testament to the massive amount of money and time that had gone into the cruise. Of course, even if he was impressed, Markus didn't have to admit that he liked the thing- he didn't. In his opinion, the whole enterprise was deeply tacky.

He looked around at his comrades. Markus had been half-expecting them to be arrested by now, but to everyone's surprise boarding the liner had gone off without a hitch. Now the real test of their skills would begin.

"Mister Tyler." he turned to Boz. "Shall we disembark?"

Boz Girange as Alecti Tyler

Boz nodded.
"Of course mister Hunt. I must say that it is a most impressive ship, is it not?"
making his way out and into the docking bay, Boz quickly surveyed the room, taking everything in. The docking bay was a key part of ythe ship and knowing its layout could be useful later.
"Is everything in order for my funds. And don't feign innocence I know my father told you manage me and make sure I don't go to far."
He laughed to himself. There was somehting very comfortable of slipping into a persona. He turned back to the others.
"Is there anything you reccormend to do once we are all settled Mister Stent?"

Hyperspace, The Empress of the Stars
IC as Joss Vendu as Sonjir Koor

Joss Vendu tugged on the shoulder strap of a highly expensive blue gem colored purse he carried at his side and tried to keep his jaw from hitting the floor. Making an effort to keep his expression carefully snoody and unimpressed, the dark haired human male was stunned at the eloquence at which the Empress displayed around him all the way from the gilded masonry to the soft carpets dotting the walkways.

Posing as Sonjir Koor, Joss had to keep reminding himself that this fictitious marriage to his real wife Ruana had him on a lower rung of the social ladder than his better half. Which was why he was walking half a step behind and carrying her prized piece of baggage as half servant-half social acquisition. They'd kept a single carry-on as Ruana, while in her character Serena, fussed and blustered about how servant droids couldn't possibly handle her astronomically expensive Coursca studded handbag as well as her husband under her personal supervision. In reality, the purse contained several anomalous Ladies items coupled with the Cosmetics (Forensics) Kit and the disguised parts to his Hold Out.

Just a few feet ahead he saw Boz Girange turning to Markus Carfax in conversation. Joss reflexively tucked Ruana's purse closer to his ribs in case the hacker decided to hazard a glance backward. He doubted he could live down the ribbing that would surely follow.

He sighed to Ruana as he looked about the area for various security personnel, cameras, and the like, "Perhaps Milady Serena, we should retire to the room and unpack the luggage? I must say, I am eager to begin this Holiday." Joss paused and listened to his own words coming out his mouth and couldn't feel more awkward at how it all sounded. He'd practiced the accent for days on end and the words were still alien to him.

Markus Carfax as Andriy Hunt

"Of course mister Hunt. I must say that it is a most impressive ship, is it not?"

It was fortunate that the Andriy Hunt persona was not presidposed to appreciating life's luxuries. Markus had finished his awed-looking-around stage earlier than the other agents, and so he was less given to impressed murmurings about the decor. He was rather more keen to get down to the business of actual spying.

To his annoyance, Girange seemed to be actually enjoying himself. Truly, the kid needed taking in hand.

"Is everything in order for my funds? And don't feign innocence- I know my father told you manage me and make sure I don't go too far."

"Of course the funds are in order." Markus replied, finding himself talking to Boz's back as he turned towards the others. "Though I would like to remind you that we have an entire trip to spend this money in and a myriad of places in which to spend it."

Unlike Joss, who still sounded slightly out of his element, Markus had affected this kind of speech before and, while he didn't like it, was at least comfortable with a more precise mode of speech than usual. The hacker had been amused to note that Ruana had made her husband carry her handbag. Usually Joss would have at least gotten a comment about how very fetching it looked. His fellow agent should count himself lucky that they were undercover.

"As regards your father," he muttered just under audible range, "The precise words were 'Don't let the boy completely disgrace himself' but I fear that natural instinct can't be denied."
