Stent Kannat

"Completely disgrace himself?" Stent looked over at Markus with a slight smile. "I believe his father did not throw in a modifier before 'disgrace,' Mr. Hunt."

Stent momentarily lost himself as he examined his surroundings. He looked at ease on the outside, but on the inside was a turmoil of emotions. He was fully in mission mode, but there was a battle going on: Part of him was saying that he should be enjoying his surroundings, as this was all very familiar to him. But the other part of him was repulsed by the excess of wealth, the shallowness of it all. He was thinking that he was going to have to request MI5 to send him to more backwater worlds in the future, where issues and beings had substance, no matter how dangerous.

"Well, Master Tyler, perhaps a quick tour of this vessel should be in order once we unpack? At least make ourselves familiar with what is at our disposal for enjoyment here."

Stent took a more serious look about to orient himself and find where to check in.

Staring around without any trouble of acting with large eyes and a slightly agape mouth, though the large eyes was more from straining to hold his atenae palp in then actual awe.

Passing over, or ignoring, the others speeches he merely grinned looking at the molding around the room and the grand ornateness of it all even of the guests and staff. Rubbing behind his right ear he muttered, "A guy could get used to this."

Date Posted: 5/4 4:03pm Subject: I surely did not just come up with this stuff
First and foremost, the Empress of the Stars is an exercise in spatial extravagance. At full capacity, the vessel would have somewhere in the vicinity of ten thousand beings aboard it, between the passengers, crew and service staff. A military vessel of equivalent size could easily fit over triple that amount. The Empress was built to be comfortably large, without any of the economy of space so desired in most commercial and military vessels.

The hanger itself was a testament to this design philosophy, a relatively cavernous facility for the handful of shuttles that were currently employing it. The debarking passengers were greeted by a small army of uniformed cruise staff and protocol droids. Most of the passengers were sporting carry-on bags, when they weren't making others carry them; even when limited to a single chest per passenger, the sheer volume of luggage handled by the ship meant that many of the larger containers wouldn't reach the staterooms until later that evening.

As far as the process of actually checking in went, the bulk of it had been done in the time period between the acquisition of the tickets and the move through the layers of security before boarding the shuttle. Each passenger possessed a unique key chip, which served as a room key, security pass and a form of ID. It could even be used to add purchases to the passenger's bill at the end of the voyage, if the option was employed. Suffice to say, losing it would surely cast a dark cloud over the rest of the passenger's vacation.

The key chips came into play almost immediately, as the passengers moved to exit the hanger. This path took them through another security station, where the identities of the passengers were matched with the identities on their chips. The entire process was fairly brisk, aside from the point where the group was asked to step aside so that Halon could be taken to a side room by a droid, asked to remove his helmet so that his face could be confirmed. It seemed this would be a regular thing, as any and all beings entering or exiting the ship would have to have their identities confirmed. Wearing a mask or helmet only complicated the process.

Past the security station, the passengers were finally free to enter the ship proper. Given the ship's size, the deck they were on served as an enormous concourse, the chief feature being the Starlight Way, a rapid transit system that ran the full length of the vessel, to help shuttle passengers to wherever their desires took them. From any particular station along the Starlight Way, passengers could take the turbolifts to the various decks above and below the concourse. Though it may have a bustling metropolitan image that might cause a slight bit of discord for those seeking relaxation, the sheer amount of walking otherwise required made it a necessity. Passengers could at least take comfort knowing that the transit cars were relatively spacious, quick to arrive and never packed. Assuming you knew where you were going, it would be possible to reach just about any point on the ship within minutes.

Again, assuming you knew where you were going.

OOGM: Surprisingly, sources are very vague as to what exactly a suitcase is called in the Star Wars universe.

And a few things I probably should have covered earlier...
-Are any of your key chips linked to the account? I assume the one holding the purse strings has veto power
-Are any of you keeping your MI5 badges with you? This is by no means an indicator that I'm doing anything with them at the moment, but if you ever feel the need to pull them out, speak now or I assume you left them at home.

Empress of the Stars, concourse

Markus stepped out onto the wide freeway that made up Starlight Way and had to keep himself from showing his amazement. It was as if a street from Coruscant had been picked up and transported wholesale to the ship. It was this fact, the sheer incongruity of it, that took his breath away. Maybe there were advantages to scale, after all.

Hoping that his slip in composure had gone unnoticed, Markus looked around for the nearest transit car. If he had been amazed by the sight, Feth only knew what the others were like. They'd probably forgot about the mission altogether.

"Over here, lady and gentlebeings." he motioned to a vacant car. "Grand Suite 703 awaits."

As the agents moved towards the transit cars, some among them realized that they weren't entirely sure as to where the suite was aboard the vessel, and given the size of the ship, wandering around to find it wouldn't be very helpful.

Fortunately, it seemed as though they weren't the only ones to realize this fact.

"Excuse me your majesties," said a bronze protocol droid. "But I believe you might wish to visit the information station before you commence exploring our fine vessel."

The droid stiffly pointed to a doorway further down the concourse.

"There, our helpful service staff will gladly set you up with the Starlight Cruise Line's custom spot-on locators. With only a refundable deposit, you will be provided with one of our cruise line's most innovative devices. Using the vast communications network running through the ship, the locator provides an accurate map of your exact position aboard the vessel, and can be used to provide routes, travel information and recommednations for any of our fine establishments. Thanks to the latest in computing technology, the Empress of the Stars is equipped with an incredibly powerful artificial intelligence capable of coordinating information and providing up-to-the-minute information on the facilities to ensure that your stay will be as exemplary as possible. Why, with the deluxe models, guests can make purchases and reservations as well as network with their fellow passengers, with security features tailor-made to ensure that no one else will be able to access your confidential information."

The droid bowed slightly.

"I do hope you'll consider it," said the droid, before ambling over to the next group of passengers making a beeline for the transports.

The ship was so vast and impressive. It was the kind of ship that would last for many long years, offering the perfect accomodation at the highest price.
Although caught up in the lights and large number of people moving around the group, Boz made sure you keep noticing things. There was an extremely large number of secuirity cameras, but that was fairly normal and would be expected. That there was the key in Boz's mind. Nobody would think anything of it if there were many secuirity terminals on a ship like this where high businessmen and women were entertained. Therefore who's to say someone might not use that to their advantage to add a few more for their own private use.
After being approached by the droid, Boz nodded to the others.
"I think it's somehting to considr definately. Can't hurt to have a better knowledge of what's going on eh?" He said. It was relevent both as his cover and as an agent.
Heading over to the transports Boz considered what they should do next. Perhaps it was something to disscuss at a safer point, such as when their room was secure.

Wanting to fulfill the role of someone that didn't get out of the shop much, and to solidify his position as the social flop that could ask anything he wanted because he didn't know better. He slowly spun around with arms raised exclaiming in a hushed tone, "We did it! We are onboard, we are really here!" slapping their major-domo's shoulders he uttered in a quick paced sugar-high voice, "Do you think I could get what that droid said for a guided tour boss?! Oh, if only I could be a putts on this ship and only have to study this ships schematics and to caress the humming conduits, and the fine lines of elegance, what a life. But to actually be here, Oh Stent and gracious employer I could polish your shoes right now with gratitude if you say yes!"

Looking at back and forth he let a small bit of an exicited maniacle gleam run through his eyes, he hoped the others would remember he was just staying in character. If not he would more likely get an antenae pulp full back in their room, then again he still might even if they did.

Stent was actually taken by surprise when Agent Solass slapped his shoulders. His initial annoyed look melted away into one similar to an exasperated parent.

"Reese, Master Tyler just said that he would consider such a purchase. I know we have a war chest but it is limited and for business purposes at the discretion of Master Tyler and Mr. Hunt." He quickly glanced at the other two agents. Stent would not be against such a purchase since he saw its usefulness, but checking their funds beforehand would be the intelligent step.

"Come, let us go to our rooms before our wallets and purses are empty?"

"I am siding with the enthusiastic Mister Colo on this one, I'm afraid." Markus replied to Stent. "Purchasing a map would be extremely useful in navigating this ship, not to mention finding our rooms in the first place."

He looked across to his 'employer'. "It would also be prudent to familiarize ourselves with the ship's layout and establishments where you can network most effectively."

Empress of the Stars, Starlight Way
IC as Joss Vendu

Joss kept up his guise of the attentive husband while splitting his attention between his compatriots chatting with the service droid and their surroundings. Apparently the Empress offered an interactive holomap... for a price, of course. It was doubtful that the map showed them the more sensitive areas of the Cruise Liner, but getting information from the rest of the passengers was far too vital to pass up.

Vendu turned toward the sound of Carfax's voice, "It would also be prudent to familiarize ourselves with the ship's layout and establishments where you can network most effectively."

"And let us not forget Mr. Hunt," he quipped completely in character, "we mix our business with pleasure when we can. I can't imagine my dear Serena missing out any festivity aboard the Empress." So the dark haired man bowed slightly and walked ahead to secure them all room aboard the transport that would take them to their rooms while the Locater was purchased.

OOGM: Why yes, I would enjoy my internet browser dying on me while in the middle of an update, how did you know?

Badge count.
Yes: Markus. No: Joss, Ruana, Stent, Ryn. Unknown: Boz, Halon.

The Spot-On Locator was acquired with a 15 minute wait in line at the information station and a 25 credit deposit. The clerk assured them that the deposit would be fully refunded upon the return of the locator, minus any fees required to repair light damage (if the unit was lost, heavily damaged or broken, additional fines would be levied). The agents were given one locator for the moment, though it could be activated with any of their seven key chips. Were another locator (or a deluxe upgrade) required, they were invited to return to an available information station (the locations of which were conveniently marked in the locator itself) at a later time, as the highest priority of the crew was ensuring that every group had one.

Looking at the locator, it wasn't hard to see why such a device might come in handy. With over three dozen decks each kilometers in length, thousands of rooms and hundreds of facilities and a truly metropolitan transportation system running throughout the vessel, it was fairly easy to get yourself lost if you didn't have some sort of sophisticated guidance system. By merely entering their destination (Grand Suite 703, conveniently located with a "home" button), a route was charted within moments, with details down to which transport cars and turbolifts they should be taking to get there (and perhaps they would like make reservations for any of the Empress's exciting planetary expeditions, or to be pampered at her award-winning relaxation facilities? After all, prompt preparation promotes perfection).

Finally, with a swipe of a card they entered the suite. The room itself was spacious, its design forsaking the gaudy in favor of quietly elegant, with light colors and carved furnishings against a darker base. From the foyer, one could progress directly to the large and well-furnished lounge, complete with a multi-purpose luxury holographic entertainment system and a clear view through the large viewport (complete with adjustable polarization to regulate the amount of light),an adjoining viewing area (fully enclosed, of course) and dining area. The master bedroom had a large and spaciously comfortable-looking double bed, and an equally spacious refresher, with a fully-functioning bath, of all things. Though the secondary bedrooms were smaller and possessing refreshers only equipped with showers, they were still remarkably roomy for a starship. The claim that the suite could sleep ten was certainly believable, it would have no trouble holding the seven agents and all their belongings, provided they figured out arrangements.

But, as nice as the room was, relaxation wasn't the only thing on an agent's mind. There still was the issue of the nebulous mission they had been assigned. MI5 wouldn't spend tens of thousands of credits to put its agents up on a luxury cruise without some cause. Though the rumors in the underworld were vague, many of them seemed to hinge upon this particular vessel. But if they were to find more concrete information... where would be the best place to start looking?

OOGM: I kind of wish I was better at thinking in terms of colors. Perhaps a less wispy design once I find a decent way of rendering things. Though if anyone else has some decent references, here's your chance to help personalize the RPG.

Architecture is hard work. Also, apparently there are three bedrooms. Surprise! I still don't know what the Star Wars word for pull-out bed is, but suffice to say, you can find some more sleeping space in the bedrooms with a push of a button.

Ruana looked around approvingly at the suite. Yes, staying here wouldn't be any kind of hardship. She moved into the main bedroom, and sat on the bed. "Mine now," she said cheerfully, claiming the master bedroom before anyone else could. The ship was impressive, all up. Luxury everywhere. Now, if things didn't go haywire anytime soon, she might actually be able to enjoy the fact that the mission had brought them somewhere nice for once.

Inwardly, she resolved to have a talk with Joss, since he needed a little guidance on how to act. He'd been exaggerating a little too much, and it would be best to head that off before it became troublesome.

Ruana kicked her shoes off, pressing her feet into the soft carpeting. She was smiling, enjoying the little things that made this whole thing so good.

Markus Carfax as Andriy Hunt

Markus stepped into the suite and looked around with the air of a businessman appraising a new acquisition. He noticed that Ruana was all too keen to jump into luxury at the deep end. How typical. When he'd been given control of the finances he'd been warned about Joss's purchase of an extremely expensive painting to impress a potential mark- Markus was determined not to let that happen on his watch. The fact that it would annoy the Trebond-Vendus was just a bonus.

"Not bad, if you like this sort of thing." he sniffed, dumping his bag on the sofa and walking over to the viewport. As he walked across the room the hacker ran an eye over the minimalist decor. There were not many places here that you could hide a bug here, but only the newest agents would risk speaking freely in a room that hadn't been subject to a sweep beforehand.

Moving from the viewport, Markus started his search in earnest, moving around the rooms and examining them in turn. To the casual observer it would simply look as if the agent was curious about his new accommodation.

Entering the master bedroom, he gave a cursory nod to Ruana.

"Mrs Vandron."
