Markus Carfax
Grand Suite 703
It seemed that the agents had finally reached a consensus and were willing to get down to the serious business of bothering the other passengers and spending Markus' money. The hacker realised he'd just thought of the 'company' funds as his and shuddered, mentally shaking himself out of it. MI5 could go bankrupt for all he cared. Yeah.
This mental argument was interrupted by Stent Kannat.
"Enough chit-chat; to the Falling Star. Lead the way, Markus?"
"If I must." Markus replied with the distinct air that this was all too much bother for him. Standing up, he replaced the visor on his nose and picked up the Locator.
"Follow me."

He had to resist asking the droid more pertinent questions about things like surveillance and security. Things like that would surely be odd from an ordinary vacationer.
"Hm," he scratched at his chin in thought, "That does sound like quite the evening. Now where is the Arboretum located exactly?"

"Hm... That does sound like quite the evening. Now where is the Arboretum located exactly?"
"Well sir, to get to the Arboretum, simply head down this corridor, take the first hallway on the right to reach the turbolift, head down to the Starlight Way level, take one of the transport cars over to Station Shen, then follow the hallway on your left to reach the turbolifts, go up three floors, exit the turbolift and you should be able to see the Botanical Gardens. The Arboretum is in the center of the gardens, simply follow the path.
Alternatively sir, if I may be so bold... may I suggest you acquire one of our company's Spot-On Locators? They're free provided that they remain undamaged, and are part of an initiative by the Starlight Cruise Line to ensure that our guests are able to enjoy the ship with a minimum amount of navigational hassle. If you wish to acquire one, there is an Information Station located just two floors below us, and the turbolift is right over there. It will only take a few minutes of your time, but it will be of invaluable help for the rest of your voyage."
With the aid of the locator, Markus and the other agents found that it was quite easy to locate the Falling Star. As for the cantina itself, it seemed as though the designer had taken the name "Falling Star" to heart, and bludgeoned everything in the room with a crumbling comet. Glitter was the secret ingredient, and everything in the room seemed to sparkle and shine, from the table surfaces to the gleaming swirling patterns on the floor to the soft glow of the walls.
The cantina was strangely empty. Well, perhaps not so strangely empty considering that it was mid-afternoon and most passengers had only been on the ship for an hour at most. Finding something to drink was probably not the highest priority.
The bartend (a neatly groomed and surprisingly dressed Drall) greeted them.
"Welcome to the Falling Star, for a touch of the celestial among the terrestrial. What may I do for you, che?"

Stent Kannat
Falling Star
Stent was impressed not only by the decor, but also by the amount of glitter. He wondered if his eyes would overload from all the sparkling if he stayed in there too long. He was also impressed that it was empty. Well, passengers were still boarding. They were bound to show up... at some point.
"You did purchase the three tickets for the Captain's dinner, correct?" Stent asked Markus quietly.
"Welcome to the Falling Star, for a touch of the celestial among the terrestrial. What may I do for you, che?"
Stent turned to the Drall, impressed by his presentation. Better get used to being impressed on this trip, he thought to himself. He made his way to the bartend. Dralls always had at least five stories to tell, and perhaps this one has a story to remember.
"Yes, barkeep," Stent responded with a smile, "I will have a Luranian brandy. Are we lucky enough to be the first customers of the Falling Star on this voyage?"

The barkeep disappeared below the bar.
"Indeed, you are our first customers of this voyage, hopefully it will live up to expectations, che?"
The Drall reappeared, opening a bottle, wafting the air with a gloved hand as he sniffed.
He poured a glass, not bothering with ice in the cool room as he put the drink down in front of the Zeltron.
"What brings a group of guests to a cantina so early in the afternoon, che?"

Stent Kannat
Falling Star cantina
Stent picked up the cool glass and took a sip. How delightful. Or delightfully horrid. Part of Stent wanted to chug the brandy and ask for a "lower-class" beer, but no, he would continue on with the facade.
"Oh, we just arrived on board and we have too much energy to just waste away in our room. We decided that a drink was the proper thing to obtain, followed by exploration of our new surroundings. The Spot-On Locator gave some very good reviews of this establishment so we decided to come here first.
"I would ask you how business is going, but you have not had any yet!" Stent let out a chuckle. "I take it that there must have been quite a competition amongst the Starlight bartenders to work on this ship?"

"I take it that there must have been quite a competition amongst the Starlight bartenders to work on this ship?"
The bartender's lips curled in an approximation of a smile.
"It's not quite what you'd think. When selecting staff, the management looked at the records of those who had been working on various liners for the past few years, and offered spots to the ones with the best long-term performances. Consistency and excellency are the traits which secure positions aboard the Empress, not just bursts of capability. We can't afford to offer anything less."
He looked at the others.
"Something I can offer you, che?"

Falling Star cantina
Finally adjusting his eyes he nodded at the Drall, "I'll take a gep neehi, extra foam please. You must be a highly regarded tender with a good hand at the synthizer's and a good ability to sooth tensions before they start." he added with a slight nod, hopefully the Dralls chatterbox would open up a little more with the compliment.
The gep neehi was only a fruity drink with hardly enough alcohol to get a Jawa a buzz after five, but he was going for the wimpier, sheltered mechanic look so it should do.

"I'm certain I possess the necessary skills" he said, as he prepared Ryn's drink. "I don't think I'd be here otherwise."
He set the beverage in front of agent.
"You won't find much in the way of conflict aboard a liner. Passengers are concerned with enjoying themselves, no one will go looking to cause trouble when security can find them in an instant. Managing a bar aboard a ship is about knowing how to mix drinks, provide service, and identify patrons who've had enough for the evening. They expect the best, and we provide it."
"So," he said, again turning his gaze at the others, "what brings you together aboard this vessel, che?"

"A blend of business and pleasure, although I'm hoping for more pleasure than anything else. And a glass of Nubian wine please, if you don't mind."
Like everything else they had seen so far the cantina was the height of luxuary. It was very beautiful, quite romantic really, which didn't match with Boz's current company.
"You never know Hunt, I might be able to double the money we've been given in the casino later. Always been a good hand at cards, much to my family's grief. All in the eyes you know."
This was indeed true, his abilities in reading people meant that against other species he could clean up very well in games where bluffing and double crossing was key. He'd managed to gain himself a good amount of money this way when he had been at the academy.

Markus Carfax as Andriy Hunt
Falling Star cantina
Markus was a little disappointed to notice that the cantina was empty, making the little group of agents stick out like a sore thumb. He was sure that they weren't the only beings on he entire ship that weren't still in their rooms, but they were certainly the only ones who had thought to come here, thus defeating the entire point of the outing.
He was reflecting on this gloomily when Boz'rir turned to talk to him.
"You never know Hunt, I might be able to double the money we've been given in the casino later. Always been a good hand at cards, much to my family's grief. All in the eyes you know."
"I'm sure." Markus replied frostily. "You'll forgive me, however, if I don't wish to see these skills displayed. Your father was very clear that this money will have to provide for us throughout the entire cruise, and I am sure that he would not be pleased to lend us any more this early, especially if you had gambled it all away."
Plus, Thought the hacker, signaling the bartender and ordering an Alderaanian brandy, Who would be stupid enough to play against a Lorrdian?

Two more drinks were poured, and set before the agents, who were presently discussing the issue of the casino.
"You'll pardon me for intruding," said the bartender, "but I don't think you'll need to worry too much about expenses. Your suite costs already cover meals at the dining halls and access to a majority of the ship's facilities. If you wished to enjoy yourselves for an evening, I am certain that you'd have a good time. No need to wager every credit you possess. Who knows, perhaps you might find yourself skills sufficient enough to enter one of the tournaments, che?"

Stent Kannat
Falling Star cantina
"Mr. Hunt, stop being such a spoiled sport," Stent said with a smile to Markus. "Just simply ration out a small amount of our funds and let our charge have at it; let him try out his luck! He might win big, say," Stent began to laugh, "the deed to a speeder production facility? Honestly, let him have some fun on this journey, just be his watchdog over the funds and do not let him dip too deeply."
The casino floor would certainly be an interesting place to find interesting people, thought Stent as he took a longer sip of his brandy. Just then, a thought shot into his mind.
"Barkeep," he asked as he turned to the Drall, "you would not happen to know a young human female named Cualféni, would you, and if she was on this cruise? She was our waitress at the ticket auction event; a wonderful lady and an excellent server. We might have to visit her and give her our regards."

Markus Carfax as Andriy Hunt
Falling Star cantina
So, it seemed as if suddenly everyone else was a financial expert and absolutely burning to tell Markus how he should apportion funds. Had he not been undercover he would have told Stent and the bartender to go and do unpleasant things to themselves- however, for the time being, he was Andriy Hunt. And Andriy Hunt, while somewhat dry and sarcastic, as nowhere near as much of a jerk as Markus Carfax.
"Very well, I shall do as you suggest." Markus sighed, holding up his hands in a gesture of mock surrender. "If Mister Tyler is desperate to make a fool of himself I suppose I shouldn't stand in his way. This is, after all, a holiday."
He took a sip of his drink and did some calculations in his head.
"We shall see how much harm you can do with two hundred credits."

"Che... can't say I've heard of her. But if she was working as a waitress at the auction, that would make her part of the Vos Gesal Hotel staff, not an employee of ours. And to be honest sir, a waitress at a hotel wouldn't be easily found here, che? If you wanted to show your appreciation, it would be best if you contacted the hotel yourself. Customer feedback is almost as appreciated as a tip in service circles, che?"
