She looked back out over the railing at the casino levels below. "That would be a rarity. The Empress is a ship full of liars. Double-dealings, infidelities, jealousies, betrayals, sorrows, humiliations, secret lives, destructive hopes, illicit longings, weaknesses of all stripes, or even criminals and predators. Everyone has something to hide. An honest man is simply a skillful liar or a tool for a more nefarious individual. The only ones you can trust are those whose secrets you already know- those are the ones whose lies will be predictable." She turned around and laughed mirthfully. "Really, my travel agent's advice borders on paranoia. There's nothing more than petty bickering or the occasional con aboard this ship, and all it takes is a level head to avoid them." Shinkai Abyss The helm of the ship was a sophisticated layout worthy of a man with money to burn and an eye for the latest and greatest. The yacht was clearly designed to be driven by one man, and by the looks of it, at extremely high speeds with a reckless disregard for his surroundings. Given the fact that Halon had to shoot his way into the locked vessel, it was extremely unlikely that Salek Zaron had opted to leave the yacht ready for Halon's immediate access. Below him, Ryn chased after the sinking body of their target. It was a slow process, given that he had to swim closer, and wasn't very quick at closing the distance between them. But even further below him, Ryn spotted something that might have chilled any recreational diver to the bone. A massive dark serpentine shape was undulating up from the depths. And unlike him, this one had no trouble moving through the water. 	IC: Ryn Solass Shinkai Abyss It was slow going to say the least and he couldn't help but grimace at the pain of each movement to get closer to the body. Then something else put a grimace to his face, something was coming up...quick. Best to shoot first and then save the body he thought grimly, lining up he squeezed the trigger. He did nothing to stop his descent but he hoped against hope that he wouldn't have to get up close and personal with the approaching creature. 	Stent Kannat Aspere Plunge Casino Stent found himself feeling guilty for deceiving Mirana. She had the air of legitimacy about her, and her frustration seemed real enough. But of course they would continue to lie to her, if only for her own safety. Although, how safe was she now that she was simply associating herself with them? "Is your travel agent working on the inside for them to know so much of the Empress," he quipped, trying to follow along with her laughter. He quickly turned more serious. "But really. We have not been on this ship for that long and you already have such an opinion? The entire ship giving passage to liars? We knew that this voyage was likely to attract such sentients, as they usually go hand-in-hand with wealth, but you are giving me an image of something worse than something one would encounter at, say, a night at the theatre on Coruscant. Why did you not listen to your agent's advice, then, if you knew what this voyage would be like?" Stent sounded more concerned. "Has anyone 'bothered' you?" 	Aspere Plunge Casino Mirana laughed again. "Don't take things so seriously Mr. Kannat, you'll burn yourself out too early. I believe that I'm allowed the odd piece of hyperbole." "Though..." she said thoughtfully, "... now that you mention it, you still haven't told me how the three of you became such capable liars." Shinkai Abyss Continuing after the sinking body, Ryn fired the sporting rifle at the shape, hitting it right between the eyes. The creature didn't even register the impact, but merely kept swimming upwards at a speed far greater than even Salek Zaron had achieved during their underwater duel. It was a massive eel of some kind, perhaps ten meters long, easily big enough to swallow a man whole or rip him to shreds with the arm-length fangs that jutted from its closed jaws. At its current rate, the eel could close the distance between itself and Zaron within seconds. Or itself and Ryn, if the Balosar was inclined to attract its attention. Blissfully unaware of the danger below, Halon rummaged through the cabin, searching for anything of interest. Unfortunately, the human seemed to be in the habit of locking up his vessel, perhaps to stop things from being knocked about while sailing the oceans at high speeds. Aside from the two locked cabinets below the console, Halon noticed an odd resonance as he walked across the floor, and discovered a decent-sized concealed compartment beneath his feet. Predictably, it was locked. OOGM: Ryn hits for 0 damage. 	IC: Halon, Shinkai Abyss Locked. Halon was knelt by the compartment on the ship's floor, considering the best way to get it open. Using the tools from the Wake's repair kit was certainly a possibility but Solass could probably do it with less than half the fuss due to his particular skill set. But where was Ryn? The agent's continued absence had now become a growing source of concern... Shaking his mind of some unpleasant thoughts, the Ubese rose again and found the repair kit, examining it for something useful like a fusioncutter. 	IC: Ryn Solass Shinkai Abyss Seeing no effect for his efforts and grasping the immensity of the situation he decided it was better to turn tail and live to tell one then to try and fight. Especially when the obstacle was that thick headed. Turning he began swimming back to the boat at the surface, leaving their target to continue on toward the creature unimpeded. One ride to the spaceport, shuttle to the Empress and walk later, and the agents were back at their suite. From there, it was easy enough to electronically pay the twenty thousand credits required for a seat in the tournament for both Markus and Stent. After winning twenty-two thousand credits from Mirana and the other guests, they were still ahead of the game. With that taken care of, what would their next move be? Having reunited with the Trebond-Vendus, they still were missing Halon and Ryn, who had gone off in search of Salek Zaron. While they waited to see what results those two would turn up, surely there was at least someone aboard the vessel who could provide more information. OOGM: Rilwen, I know you're out there, so this is your chance to get back with the group. Also, if you're reading this and not playing, or if you're playing and know someone else who might be good, feel free to drop me a note. There are pretty much three possible ways of getting involved -Non-MI5 agent who has a spot aboard the ship -MI5 agent who doesn't have a spot aboard the ship, but goes from planet to planet aboard his or her own ship (not really recommended unless you like not posting for extended periods of time) -MI5 droid who is brought aboard the ship, since droids count as luggage rather than passengers. Shinkai Abyss As Halon poked through the toolkit, he discovered that there was indeed a fusion cutter, along with a laser welder, vibrocutters, a hydrospanner, a power calibrator, a power prybar, a sonic welder and welding goggles. With a few minutes work, he should be able to cut through the hatch, provided whatever that whatever was within it wasn't explosive, corrosive or otherwise hazardous. Faced with a ten meter sea creature that could outswim and outfight him, whose hide seemed barely affected by blasters, Ryn chose the sensible option and turned back, not watching as the body of Salek Zaron disappeared into the creature's enormous jaws, leaving only a crimson cloud behind as the beast moved away, sated. Though injured, at least he was still alive, and able to haul himself back aboard Zaron's yacht. With no vessels other than their own within a few kilometers, they were unlikely to be disturbed. 	IC: Ryn Solass Shinkai Abyss As he hauled himself back up onto the deck he removed the rebreather and took a few deep, painful lungfulls of fresh air. Before he scrambled further up and completely onto the deck incase the creature changed it's mind. Flopping down he rolled onto his back, staring at the blue sky as he picked up the short range comm and to talk with Halon, "Idiot. Pain in my side partner! Get out here and patch me up, and the next time you even think about bleeding into the water just...just don't." He was frustrated, exasperated, and abit cranky. As a possible inroad had just been devoured right before his eyes, maybe in a minute gratitude and luck would work their way in but for now...for now he was tired.
