With a plan in mind, Ryn fired up the engines, the vessel humming to life as he began to turn it towards the Crystal Wake behind him. Suddenly, there came a vibrant hiss from the stern, followed by a rippling roar and wrenching metallic screeches as the agents were roughly slammed against the ship's console amidst the clattering of bottles from Zaron's open liquor cabinet.

Behind them, through the smoke and the twisted wreckage that was once the door to the cabin, the agents could dimly see that the aft of the vessel was simply gone, with the ocean surging over the warped remains of the deck as the ship tilted backwards beneath their feet.

OOGM: Zaron's yacht takes 82 points of damage, punching its ticket for a one-way trip on the Davy Jones Express. Halon and Ryn both take 17 points of damage, putting them at 85/124 and 43/90 HP.

Boz shrugged. He'd thought that associating themselves with the hutts would damage their cover. He hadn't thought that hutts would be interested in something like speeders, but if Stent thought that it would work he saw no reason to argue.
"Alright, that's settled then."
He got up from the chair, running a hand over his hair in an attempt to smooth it out.
"If we head down to this hutt establishment we'll have to be careful. Like you said Stent jumping into the subject of organised crime with hutts is going to be neither fun nor easy."

"Well, we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it." Markus replied, taking one last look at the map before shutting the Locator's display off. "What we need to decide now is when we go- do we wait for the Bloodthirsty Duo to get back and report to us?"

He looked around at the group and sighed.

"Much as I hate to wait for them, what they do out there could impact how we continue with our investigation."

Stent put his face in the palms of his hand after Markus's comment. The two marauders out there, possibly doing the dead man's float out in the ocean.

"Impact," he began, collecting his thoughts. "Impact, yes, if they are successful or not. If they do not succeed in apprehending Zaron, he can easily trace back to us as we are their roommates and obvious accomplices. If we ourselves survive any reprisals, who would want to work with us? Or would rival gangs be invigorated by that fact that a bunch of seemingly nobodies made an attempt on Zaron's life? But if they are successful, that would possibly give us leverage in bargaining with a kajidic. Or it might make them afraid of even getting involved.

"It looks like no matter what happens something can work not in our favor. But if we have Zaron, get whatever information we can get out of him, and we had that leverage - we could get somewhere. I - reluctantly - think we should wait for their return. If they do not come back by the time the ship departs, we know what happened."

Stent looked at his chrono. "How long has it been since they have left us?"

What in the name of the gods was that?, Halon thought, recovering from the shock of the blast.

With the yacht now sinking, he acted quickly, scooping up the raft and pulling the inflation cord.

"Ryn, bring the blasters. We may need them yet!"

OOGM: Raft? You mean the portable raft that Ryn presumably brought aboard among his armful of stuff and subsequently dropped at the back of the ship? The same back of the ship that's getting a group discount on diving tours?

...I'll refrain from kicking you while you're down.

Shinkai Abyss

By some manner of fortune, the life-raft that they agents had taken from the Crystal Wake was not caught in the explosion containing the rest of their equipment in the stern, but was with them in the command cabin. As the water came pushing up through the opening, Halon quickly pulled the cord and tossed the inflating-vessel through the remains of the door.

The water continued to advance. In a few more seconds, it would flood the open weapons locker. Shortly after that, the downward tilt of the vessel would ensure that the former doorway to the cabin was underwater, necessitating that the agents swim for the surface.

OOGM: To answer Stent's question, it really depends. Assuming Halon and Ryn don't burst into flames, get eaten by a Camray Eel, or get shot, it takes maybe three hours for them to go to the Marina, get aboard the Wake, head out to the Abyss, mess around and head back. It all really depends on how long you guys took for the sabacc game. I'm assuming that between splitting up, wandering around the casino, playing the game and then heading back to base, you guys have used about an hour and a half or so, meaning your actions are roughly co-current with Operation Titanic here. Not that anyone here has a comlink that's capable of calling comm to comm from high orbit to somewhere down on the surface or vice versa. Though if you wanted to use the communications network that involves patching it to the Empress down to a comm center on the planet and then out to their comlinks, you could do that.

OOGM: So, I know Livi has been having connection troubles, and it looks as though sprint and JANGO are on vacation, but I've seen the rest of you online...

Anyways, while I wait to see what Ryn and Halon attempt to salvage from the sinking vessel and what they'll do to get back aboard, here's a few things you might want to do if you're waiting for the other two to get back in one piece:
-Discuss your cover story. Stent says you're committed on the off chance that Mirana works for a kajidic, but if this is the case you still should iron out some details so you don't get blindsided by such fiendishly clever questions as "what are you doing here?" and "why should other people give you money?"
-Discuss what you guys should do in the case of an emergency, such as oh, say... an agent is injured. Given that you pass through a security checkpoint every time you enter or exit the ship, and the fact that the liner staff is concerned with protecting the passengers from harm and the company from lawsuits, there may be some concern if they discover guests returning with blaster burns. If you can't think of anything else, I suppose you could tell them that you fell down some heavily armed stairs.
-Do some information analysis. Take anything you've learned so far and try to see if you can make anything out of it. There's probably some leads and suggestions in there somewhere. At the very least, you might want to map out the factions that you've discovered so far.

Breathing was a bit harder, that was a problem and as he turned back he noticed the ship had just become a lot smaller. Halon was yelling something about weapons as he ran to the emergency raft that had miraculaously been blown into the main cabin.

Eyes wide somewhat he bent down and started chucking the none pointy weapons into the raft even before it had inflated before filling his left arm with what bladed ones he could. Turning he dived to the cabinate and grabbed the two clear bottles and using he pushed against the raft doubled over the edge as he was in an attempt to help Halon get it out into the water before they becamepressed to the cieling under the water.

Stent sighed as he lowered his chrono from his eyes. "No matter. They will return - or they will not. Not knowing the severity of their situation at the moment, I do not think it would be wise to try to contact them at the moment. It has only been a few hours, and it may only interfere with their actions."

The zeltron leaned forward in his chair, not looking at anything particular as he began to ramble off his thoughts to his colleagues.

"So we are stuck with our story, I say. We walk in, we strike up casual conversation. We say that we are businessmen, entrepreneurs, doing a start-up in the landspeeder customization business. We are here to look for investors and for ideas, especially knowing that kajidics have the highest quality in taste, perhaps we can cater to them. And if we get that line that Mirana gave us, 'what is a small scale business doing looking off-world,' first, we are simply making a vacation out of our business search, and second, we have our sights set high. Kajidics love that, those that go for the big credits.

"Maybe we will strike up a good relationship with a kajidic. That would give us quite an advantage, no? But then there is the whole Gir Zaron and the whole Tenloss Criminal Syndicate. Do we just outright say, 'oh, by the way, we were wondering if you would divulge any and all information that you have on Gir Zaron and his Syndicate.' I can imagine that going over splendidly. That would just be wonderful. No, there has to be another way."

Stent silenced himself for a moment, his eyes still staring off into space. He suddenly became animated once again. "Wait, did not the detective say something about a corporation? The - " Stent began to snap his fingers as if that would help him remember. "Rytech! No! Leukish! No! Wait! Both! The Leukish was the governing head of the Tenloss. And Gir Zaron is the head of Rytech Corporation. How come that name is not familiar to me?"

Without another word, Stent rushed over to their computer and began inserting data disks, searching for anything that had to do with the Rytech Corporation and the Empress. There had to be something. For added measure, Stent even threw in "Tenloss" and "Leukish" into his search. Perhaps they were in the news recently.

"Oh," Stent said as he tapped away at the computer, "someone please feel free to chime in..."

Grand Suite 703

After about ten minutes of scanning the datacards provided by MI5, Stent was forced to admit defeat. The information contained within them was everything that MI5 had been able to gather from the public records and news reports regarding the vessel. But despite his initial assumptions, there was nothing within them that showed any connection between the Rytech Corporation and the liner. In fact, he wasn't even sure of what the company did, though there were some reasonable assumptions that could be made.

Nothing could be found related to either the Tenloss Syndicate or the Leukish, but this was nowhere near surprising. If the Tenloss Syndicate had a public record of interaction with the liner this mission would be done before it began, and few people in the galaxy were aware of the nature of the Leukish, let alone what it was called. If Gir Zaron had dealings on this ship, they certainly weren't announced in conjunction with the Empress.

OOGM: Still waiting to see what Halon grabs before I update on their end.

OOGM: No one has responded in a week, Jango hasn't posted in three weeks, so I should probably take the sensible option and toss control over Halon to the rest of the party.

Shinkai Abyss

As Ryn tossed the weapons into the raft, Halon grabbed the disruptor rifle and aimed it at the bow of the yacht. One pull of the trigger, and the transparisteel windshield was simply atomized, the seabreeze scattering the ashes into the ocean. With their new collection of pilfered items, the two agents climb through new exit and dart across the fuselage as it sinks beneath the waves.

Steering the life-raft back to the Crystal Wake and transferring their possessions over to the other yacht, Ryn and Halon were faced with several questions as to what exactly they were going to do about their health, the Wake and all of these new items.

OOGM: Other players, feel free to chime in.

Stent Kannat

It was not surprising to not find anything that he was looking for, Stent thought. So far, on this mission, it seemed that everyone else managed to find them instead.

The zeltron was growing weary with the lack of ideas. He did not want to risk calling his colleagues planetside, at least not yet. He found himself fiddling with the comm that connected him with one called Nexus. That seemed too extreme at the moment.

Stent decided that it would be best to try the path of least resistance first. If it did not lead to anywhere, well, there were certainly other paths.

"The Chuodana it is," Stent said as he stood up. "We might as well investigate, perhaps make some acquaintances that might be more useful once we learn that our colleagues do indeed have Zaron, something that I would expect to play in our favor."

And against us, he thought, but did not bother saying.

"All are free to join me. Markus, please tell me the directions to the establishment that the locator is giving."

Shinkai Abyss

A steadily vanishing supply of bubbles and a thinning wisp of smoke were the only signs of Salek Zaron's passing, rapidly fading away into the Abyss below. As the two agents pondered their next course of action aboard the bobbing vessel, the comm aboard their ship began to sound. Someone was calling. A rather unexpected turn of events. Was it the marina, cluing in to the theft of the vessel? A friend of the Wake's owner, calling to engage in some business? Or maybe the other agents had somehow managed to deduce the comm frequency of the yacht and were calling to inform them of a new development.

With so many unknowns, answering the comm might bring trouble. But not answering it could be just as suspicious if the caller was expecting the presence of individuals aboard the yacht. Perhaps the best course of action would be to answer it and bluff like mad if it was someone he hadn't met before.

"Good afternoon gentlemen. I lost the signal a few minutes ago and nothing I do will bring it back. What happened? And what sort of condition are you in?"

It was the voice of Jarus Dravaal, the INTERPOL detective whose information had brought them out to the Abyss in the first place. Apparently, not only did he know where the Crystal Wake had been berthed, but how to contact her as well.

Chuodana

If it weren't for the locator, Stent would have missed it. The restaurant's sign was small enough that it wouldn't have been out of place sitting on someone's desk, and the exterior of the place was doing its very best to be as nondescript as possible. With neither windows nor advertisements, the only visible feature was the pair of oversized sliding doors, covered nearly top to bottom with some sort of tinted transparisteel that made it nearly impossible to see what was behind them. Beneath the small sign was a button, and with a single press the doors slid open, revealing a short (but wide) corridor with an identical pair of doors at the end of it. Stepping inside, the exterior doors slid shut behind him, the interior doors opening a second later.

He was in some sort of softly-lit, sparsely furnished lobby, with wide corridors branching off in each direction, each lined with more of those tinted sliding doors. The room was relatively empty, no beings sitting on any of the benches that seemed almost carved from the wall. The only other occupant was a tall reptilian being with a serpentine body and immense flowing facial hair who was coiled behind a podium- a Thisspiasian. The alien wound his way across the floor, carrying a small container in one hand and a datapad in the other.

"Pardon me," he inquired softly, "but are you lost?"

OOGM: If any of you guys are with him, this question is also directed at you.

If it weren't for the pain, naseau, and slight dizzyness that seemed ready to set in he probably would have been more surprised of the INTERPOL's agents call.

Looking at Halon, he decided it was probably best if he spoke up just then, "Oh, you know...drinking poison, explosive welcomes, and general lack of health insurance while playing with Eels. How about you?" Though he was able to largely keep his voice upbeat with a hint of underriding pain.
