RE: The Twilight Academy: Padawans of the Force
IC: Rayne
The Immaculate - Cockpit
Rayne watched as Mark left. As he turned around to see to the ship's controls, he noticed a woman was standing near him. He spun his chair around to he could see her. She seemed not to know much about the current events, but never the less Rayne was happy enough to talk.
"No, not at all. I see you're in shock, so you should take it easy before you over do yourself."
Rayne could see that the woman was under some sort of stress.
"Well, to answer your questions... Yes, i am the pilot of this stolen ship, but don't worry, i'm an expert pilot. Secondly, I believe that we were only able to collect a small amount of Grey Jedi from the collapsing temple, possibly less than 10, not counting the padawans."
He thought to himself, then turned back to her.
"Thirdly, I'm not exactly sure where we are going as yet. Possibly to seek a place to hide until our enemy has given up on finding us, and presumed us all to be dead... So... I guess Yavin IV would be the best spot to lay low for a few days atleast..."
Rayne arose from his chair, and walked towards her.
"And finally, I'm Rayne."
Polite as he usually was, he knelt and kissed her hand, then arose.
"...And you are?"

IC: Chesna Vitilis
The Immaculate - Cockpit
There was a horrible relief in the things the human man told Chesna. She didn't want to hear the news, but it was necessary, and the most important thing was to be informed.
When the man, Rayne, knelt before her and kissed her hand, Chesna felt her pale face heat up with a blush despite herself. It was the first time she'd been kissed since she was a child, still living in The Orphan's Home, watched over by the benevolent Caretakers.
Quickly, to hide the fact that she was flustered, Chesna clasped her hands together in front of her chest, and bowed slightly. "My name is Chesna Vitilis. I'm a Grey Jedi Healer, a padawan. It is a pleasure to meet you, Rayne." With a little smile, she slid herself into the co-pilot's seat, running her hands along the leather, before confronting the thing that was truly bothering her.
"Really only ten? There were so many. I, I can feel them. How can ten and a few padawan be all that's left?" Chesna felt great sadness well up in her chest. It was just as well she had no eyes to cry with, or she would have made a spectacle of herself in front of this stranger who had saved them.
After lapsing into silence for a moment, Chesna murmured, "I should go back," but her voiced cracked slightly. "I'm tired, though, and I think one of my fellow padawans just went back to confront a Sith, and this trooper who doesn't seem to like me disappeared, only he was injured, so I can't imagine what he was thinking, and my first patient? I have no idea where he went, and the only thing I can sense is that he's alive." Chesna stopped abruptly. What was she doing, telling this man everything? Still, it felt good. It was healthy, the master had always told her, to releasing emotion and stress, to acknowledge its presence and then let go of it. So, pulling her knees up against her chest, Chesna continued again, saying, "And my home is in ruins, people I cared for are dead, and I'm so scared, I'm telling a perfect stranger, someone I never met until a moment ago, all about it."

IC: Rayne
The Immaculate - Cockpit
Rayne sat back down in the pilot seat and listened to Chesna as he set the ship on auto-pilot.
"Well, maybe because you tell someone things when you need someone to talk to that you trust."
He smiled at her, and crossed his arms.
"If we went back, we'd all get executed. I don't want to sound negative or anything, but no ships left the temple, and the temple was over-runned by troopers anyway."
He sighed and crossed his legs. Laughing, he spoke once more.
"Well, we should get to know each other more, huh?"
Smiling, Rayne looked at Chensa and spoke.
"I was abandoned at birth which makes me an orphan i guess. However, my older brother looked after me, and we both were adopted by a shop owner on Tatooine. There we would live all our lives, until we moved to Naboo when we earned enough money to restart our lives. I guess I came to the temple out of curiousity, and was given a job there. My brother on the other hand went to fight a great war... I'm not even sure that it's finished yet, but hey... And you, Chesna?"

RE: The Twilight Academy: Padawans of the Force
IC: Chesna
The Immaculate - Cockpit
As Rayne spoke, Chesna, slid her hands slowly up and down on the co-pilot's seat, enjoying the feel of the gently worn leather under her fingers. She was glad to have someone to speak to in this circumstance.
When he had finished. Chesna took up her side of the conversation.
"I know we can't go back, but still . . . it's just hard. How can the galaxy have lost so many wonderful beings in one fell swoop? It was just two hours ago I was in studying for an anatomy exam, and now the temple is in ruins." It was still so hard to believe, though Chesna could feel the finality of what had occurred. She bowed her head, and let it rest on her knees, then lifted her face again.
"I'm glad you'd like us to be friends," Chesna said, finally, a little shy. It had been a long time since she had really seen anyone other than Grey Jedi and wounded people. "I think you're quite interesting. I've never heard of a story like your's. I always wanted to see Naboo. People always said it was such a lovely place, with all those wonderful child-leaders. But I really wanted to feel a binary sunrise. It wouldn't be the same as
actually
seeing it, I guess, but to feel the heat, and know it, see it in my mind . . . . I'd like that.'
'Anyway, I'm hardly interesting. I don't know who my parents were, but I wasn't born on the Miraluka homeworld, so I imagine they, or my mother at any rate, got the wanderlust, and Lelmra, that's were I was born and raised, was probably just a stop. I don't know if they didn't want me, or if my parents were dead, because a lady found me, and took me to The Orphan's Home." Chesna frowed slightly, then began again. "And then, when I was four, I think, a Grey Jedi found me. I guess he realized I had more of a Force connection than a normal Miraluka, and he took me back to the temple. I got into healing pretty early on, because I just knew, and that's all really. I think that's my reason for being in this galaxy, to heal people. And now, I suppose, to make sure the ways of the Grey Jedi don't die." Finally Chesna stopped speaking, having once again revealed more than she meant to.
"Anyway," she muttered, "I really should check on my patients." Chesna rose, ready to exit, but turned around again, and addressed Rayne. "As long as you have us on auto-pilot, perhaps you would like to help me? The other padawans have much on their minds."

RE: The Twilight Academy: Padawans of the Force
IC: Saiai
The vial spun up ward toward the shuttle that Saiai hadn’t noticed. It exploded sending the shuttle into a wild spin.
The hairs on the back of Saiai’s neck tingled with the force. She dived out of the way parrying with her lightsaber on instinct. Jathen’s crimson blade sparked against hers as his attack was thwarted. Saiai recovered smoothly rolling to her feet. She whipped around bringing her blade down in a vertical sweep. Jathen blocked the blow easily with one blade and swept the other low trying to take Saiai’s legs out.
Saiai back flipped, and landed a few meters back. Jathen flung his hand out, and a wave of force energy hit Saiai.
She flew backwards, skidding across the pavement. Jathen followed closely raining down numerous blows. Saiai desperately blocked his blades. She finally kicked out and caught him in the gut. The forced aided kick sent Jathen staggering.
Saiai got up her side hurt from a strike she had barely avoided. Saiai new that she was no match for Jathen, his duel saber style was extremely difficult to defend against. She starts to look around for anything to even the odds.
(OOC: This is where Dmentae and Mark come back and start watching from the shadows)
“Jathen, I know you. Don’t do this. I can feel the conflict inside you. The good man you were is not dead, he is just buried beneath the darkness.”
Jathen stood there watching her, his sabers lowered. “There is no conflict, I am complete, I am powerful, and I am in control. Join me, and I shall show you such power that the very stars of the Galaxy will tremble before us.”
Saiai finds what she was looking for by a fallen Grey. She reaches out with the force.
“Jathen I will not fight you, and you will be forced to kill me.” The object discreetly flies to Saiai’s hand behind her back. If Jathen had seen it he didn’t react.
“If you will not join me, then you will join your friends.” The single statement was all the preamble he needed. He launched himself at Saiai, his blades angling in for a kill. Saiai blocked one with her magenta blade, and the other with the green blade she had just retrieved from that fallen Grey. They seemed to be at a stand still, nether gaining nor losing ground.
It reminded Saiai of when she and Jathen used to spar, and Jathen could never break her defense. They always ended up locked in combat. Then Jathen had found a way past her defenses. He would lunge in both blades very low, and her only option would be a downward block with her blades crossed catching his blades in her blade’s apex. It would force her to disengage, and Jathen would follow it up with a killing blow.
Just like then Jathen lunged in both blades low. She executed the downward cross block, her mind racing to find another way to parry his move before she was forced to disengage.
Then it hit her like a lightning bolt, an epiphany. She brought her leg up between her blades and kicked out, her foot smashing into Jathen’s facemask. He lurched back, but Saiai couldn’t tell how bad he was hurt.

RE: The Twilight Academy: Padawans of the Force
IC: Jathen - Battle
Jathen reeled from the kick, his phrik rebreather had protected him, and he sung at Saiai's head with one blade, also reeling the otherone at her stomach, he knew that she would block easily, and she did, but using the momentum, he disengaged his sabers, making her lurch forward into his hilt, still disengaged, he held the other blade out, one that would block anything...and thats when he saw the flicker of silver.
IC: Dmentae - Battle
Dmentae watched until Jathen had Saiai in his grasp, Dmentae rushed forward, yaking Saiai back into Mark, and then he was impaled. Dmentae hung there for a moment, waiting until Jathen had released him, and went after Saiai again. Dmentae's wings ripped out, causing Jathen to turn slowly, this time was enough for Dmentae to fly back upright, and hover infront of Jathen "You killed my FATHER!" he screamed, using a flurry of Lightning into Jathen, maknig him spasm uncontrollably, Darth Betra flew into the pillar to the left of him. Dmentae still had a hole in him, forgetting to heal it, he helf Jathen against the pillar, and suddnely spoke through theforce in his anger, it was a voice like a demons. "Leave Saiai alone, I l-" that is all that was heard as Dmentae surged the lightning into Jathen, ripping him through the pillar, he flew into a lake in the valley surrounding the Academy. Dmentae reeled, turning to Saiai, who couldn't take her eyes off his abdomen where Dmentae had been impaled, it suddenly healed, and his wings folded in. "Are you ok?"

The Immaculate - Cockpit
Rayne smiled at Chesna as she spoke about what she imagined Naboo would be like.
"Hey, i'm not that interesting you know!"
Looking back at the control pannel of the ship, he locked the ships controls on auto-pilot, then turned back to her.
"Well, I guess I should help out."
Standing, he made his way out of the Cockpit of
the Immaculate
and followed Chesna to where he had seen Mark threaten her. Looking up at the camera of which was blinking a red light, Rayne turned back towards her.
"Hey, well maybe once this is all over, I should take you to see Naboo. Afterall, the way you described it as makes me want to show it to you. Well, what you said is actually pretty true, but trust me, it gets much better than that!"
He laughed, then itched the back of his head whilst smiling to himself.

IC: Chesna Vitilis
Chesna knelt back down on the floor, picking up her resting med-kit, and smiled at Rayne.
"I'd love to see Naboo," she replied, her voice a little dreamy at the thought of a future, when all this strife had been forgotten, when she could visit any planet she wanted. "All that natural life . . . . I heard there's waterfalls."
She pulled out bacta stripes, to replace the ones she'd given patients before. "Can you help me with these?" Chesna requested, as she began to circulate the room. "I think I'd like to see Tattooine one day, too. It could have its own kind of beauty, I think. Harsher," she speculated. "Not kind, but still I'd go, just to have the experience."
As she carefully tended to the younglings, she said to Rayne, "Can I ask you a question? There was a man before, who saw me when I first came aboard, a human, like you. Was he a trooper? I felt he was, but I don't know how that could be possible."

"Yes, they do have waterfalls. Beautiful to watch... And Tatooine? You want to see Tatooine? Well watch your pockets, someone may try to steal your belongings, just like me back in the days when I was young. I was about 14 when I stole a trooper's blaster, It was actually pretty funny, especially when he tripped and fell into another stall!"
Rayne laughed, then helped out Chesna with the medical equipment.
"Well, i'm not 14 any more, but even though I'm 17, I could still probably do the same things as I did before with my brother. He is 2 years older than I, and I've not seen him in a while."
He stopped for a moment, and pictured the days when he and his brother used to survive by pick-pocketing others for money in order to buy food. He continued, and spoke once more.
"Well, that man was a trooper, one of Dmentae's friends I think. Mark was his name. I believe he was threatening you about keeping Dmentae's species quiet, well, who wouldn't. I'm one of the few who know about his species as well, a lab experiment would be the name for Dmentae, and look where he is now! A Grey, and look at how old he is. Well, actually, you don't notice it, unless he actually tell you... So you know, just keep this little talk between you and me, alright?"
Smiling, Rayne sat down up against the wall, looking at Chesna handle the medical equipment.

RE: The Twilight Academy: Padawans of the Force
IC: Jathen - Fall
Jathen had fallen unconsious from the blast of the Lightning, never had he seen someone master Force Lightning such as this man, not even any Sith he had read about or even knew could conjur up one so forceful. Jathen hit the cold water of the lake, waking him instantly, he jumped out of the Water, landing and looking up, it was quite a fall, and even now the remnants of the Pillar was falling down "So, Saiai has a protector, might make it more difficult to offer her my proposition" Jathen turned, knowing a passage behind the waterfall, he ended up in a miniature Emergancy Room "You might want to Station Sentries next time" he spoke meancingly to the Knights and Masters holed up there, one burst out and ran for it, but the others attacked Jathen "First Mistake" he blocked an attack, using the force to push another Jedi onto his counterparts saber, he ignited his second, unknown to these Greys, lightsaber into the one he was in a lock with. He threw him into a group, he realised he was outnumbered, and those tricks wouldn't work again. So he resorted to his secret, force infuse. He clenched his fists, roaring, then he re-ignited his lightsabers and mowed through the Grays, only retaining a few scratched and cuts on his massacre, only one Jedi was left...the one that had fled. Jathen force sped after him, sprinting through the Corridors after the Young Knight...

"You have quick fingers, do you?" Chesna smiled. "I'll have to watch you then. I don't want to find my 'saber gone. Haven't really got anything else to lose, though. The one good thing about having few possessions," she sighed.
"I guess I understand about Dmentae and that trooper. Well, actually not really," Chesna frowned, "but I guess I get the part about keeping his species a secret. But old? He doesn't seem so old. I guess I'm just a little confused," she murmured, sterilizing her tools again, before putting them back in the med-kit.
"But it's funny, I wouldn't have guessed you were seventeen. You seem . . . older, more mature. But I guess it varies. I'm fifteen, but right now I feel like fifty," she sighed.
Suddenly, a niggling prescence in the corner of her Force vision flared with fear.
"There's someone out there. He or she's being followed, getting closer . . . ."

"Fifty? That's a lame excuse... Oh, wait, i think i get what you're talking about. Lonelyness?"
Rayne stopped when Chesna could feel somebody else on board, someone who wasn't meant to be. Looking around from left to right, Rayne spoke quietly to her, making sure that nobody else was listening.
