So, good readers, are we to stand here and listen to this man, our representative in the great Republic Senate, while he continues to degrade the hallowed halls of that institution with his rotten presence? Ladies and gentlemen, Senator Tak has ignored our cries and you love him for it. How much more can he do to Naboo until you finally wake up and smell the caf? Tak Vedis should be-
Will walked into his room that led into the Convocation chamber. He heard the voice of some senator speaking, but he paid no attention to it as he could barely hear what the individual was saying. Erick was sitting with his computer out on his lap typing out what was being said by all the Senators. He looked at Will with a disappointed face, and returned to his screen, continuing to type so Will could catch up during the break. Will had overslept and no one had let him know until just a couple of minutes ago, so he had to rush to get to the building. He had been looking over his notes when sleep came upon him more sudden than the effects of alcohol on a Correllian. Will leaned forward and lowered the private screen that would allow the others to see him. He did not really have any intention of speaking, merely listening. He already had his mind set on what he was going to do and he would try what he could to persuade any of the senators who would want to vote against this bill to vote for it, but that would most likely take a lot of effort he wasn't up to giving at the moment, and he wasn't sure if he had enough time. As a result, he decided he would merely stay silent, listen to what was being said, and then vote. Some of the arguments were quite good too. This debate was perhaps the best he had ever listened too since he had been a Senator. Unfortunately, it seemed just as things were about to escalate to a new level, the low toned chime rang throughout the Senate hall, signifying the end of debate and the beginning of the voting session. Will looked surprised, regretting his absence during the debate. Judging by what many of the Senators had been saying, his input could have been helpful. Will felt a sense of shame wash over him as he activated his computer screen. What right did he have to vote without speaking? Then, he realized that his constituents would not look at if he spoke, just as long as he did his part and made it look as though he were trying, he was golden. After inserting his ID card, he reached forward and pressed the Yay button. He stood from his seat that he had just sat in several minutes ago, and headed back towards his office.
Tooth and nail truly didn't begin to describe the debate that had gone on during the course of this bill being up. Lucra's head shook as he tried to work his way past it all. Some of it was very good material, other... well, he certainly could have done without. The situation had grown slightly more complex for him, due to several private messages he had recieved. On the one hand, his whole party was supposed to be compeltely against this party, but on the other passing the bill might help prevent instability based upon a lack of belief in the senate truly being able to accomplish anything. Then there were those private messages to make things even more sticky. Due to those, there really was only one option open to him. He'd given his word to one, and if a new senator did nothing to honor that word, then odds were you weren't going to have any friends later on. So it was with an uncertain mind that he reached out and pressed the YAY button on the screen before him. Unsure precisely what the others in the party might think of this purported "betrayal" he decided to avoid them for the moment, but made certain to give Tak a nod as he passed his booth. Things were going to be far more intersting during this next time off, there were no doubts of that. Til then there was planning to do. Much planning to do.
