RE: The Galactic Senate RPG - Now Accepting New Players Throughout the Month of May!
IC: Bellial Del’eau
Location: Coronet, Corellia
“As you can see Doctor Del’eau… or is it Senator?”
Bellial dismissed Doctor Siegfried’s question.
“Right now it is Doctor. I am here as a healer not a politician.”
He nodded and seemed a bit relieved.
“We have had a little over three hundred cases of trace exposure to Pylox-W, and most have responded well to conventional Bacta treatment. Unfortunately there is a group that, due to either too much exposure or an allergy to Bacta, we have been unable to treat.”
Bellial followed the Doctor through the hallways of the Coronet Medcenter. It was good to be back in a Medical facility even if it wasn’t her own. Doctor Siegfried seemed a competent fellow, and had managed the tragedy well.
“Through here Doctor Del’eau.”
She stepped through the doors into a large room with about fifty beds in it. All of them had occupants that the Medcenter had been unable to treat. The Force teamed with the echo of defeat, and the level of melancholy was staggering.
“Nurse Bialystock and Bloom will assist you in any way they can, and our facility is completely at your disposal. May the Force be with you Doctor.”
With that Doctor Siegfried turned and departed to tend to his own duties. Bellial turned to the two nurses.
“Let’s get started. Shall we?”

Nava Kree
Aboard the Thorn, heading for ..
As Nava headed for her homeworld, thinking of Pol, she played with the bracelet on her arm. Her panic switch. She was far away from her bodyguard now, but she hoped he at least was monitoring things. She hated to leave him, but she simply HAD to find Pol, and he would want to do things through channels. And she didnt want to wait.
Her thoughts were interrupted with a bleep on her ships comlink. She looked over. It was from Tak! She read it carefully.
["We're on a rather large uncloaked ship where I believe we may be able to find some information if we look hard enough. I hope to see you here soon."]
She received the coordinates. She scratched her head, as she re-read his message.
'WE?'
Who else was along for the ride, she wondered.
Nava entered in the new coordinates, and gripped her controls. With the determination, as if she were flying her pod, she whipped her ship through the travel lanes, pushing her hyperdrive to the maximum as she made her way towards the coordinates given to her.
In a short time, she came upon one rather large ship. As she drew closer, her eyes went wide. two smaller vessels, that appeared to be fighter type vessels, were floating dead in space. The larger vessel, had DEFINATELLY taken battle damage. As a mater of fact, the docking bay looked as if something had been used as a battering ram against it.
Hoping that this was the correct vessel, Nava slowly and carefully approached the vessel. When she came close, she sent out a coded message to Tak.
"Tak. Its Nava. Im here....I think.." she stated softly, as she waited to see where he was located. She hoped he was still in one piece, as she stared at the damage around her.

large vessel
The rest of the large ship appeared empty - almost no guards or other indivduals present. Something was definitely fishy in Denmark. Tak was trying to gain access to the ship's main computer when the sensors detected another vessel closing on their position. It looked kind of like a podracer built for space travel. Tak smirked as he had a pretty good idea who it was even before his datapad bleeped with an encrypted message.
"Tak. Its Nava. Im here....I think.."
Opening the comm., Tak set it to a wide frequency, knowing
Nava
would at least recognize his voice. "You have it right, mistress. Dock and we can hunt for that item you inquired about - sorry the facilities are in a poor state of repair." He hoped she'd glom onto the understanding because she had sent an encrypted message, he felt she wanted to keep things on the low key.

IC - Sha'no Ryn
The rest of the large ship appeared empty - almost no guards or other indivduals present. Something was definitely fishy in Denmark.
Tak was trying to gain access to the ship's main computer when the sensors detected another vessel closing on their position. It looked kind of like a podracer built for space travel.
Sha'no peeked over his shoulder to look at the new ship as well. It was beginning to bother her how quiet everything was, like someone was waiting for them or something. Then Tak opened the Comm unit and spoke.
"You have it right, mistress. Dock and we can hunt for that item you inquired about - sorry the facilities are in a poor state of repair."
"Are you sure that's such a good idea?" she asked when he was finished. "We don't know if there are hostile people in that ship. Of course, with that lightsaber and those... Jedi powers, I guess you'll handle anymore hostiles." She baited him with the pause in her speech, hoping he'd come clean with her.
Looking around, the ship could use the touch of a woman. It was a mess, only males must have lived there. A small computer console looked like it was open, even though Tak was busy with the main one. Sha'no went over to it and much to her surprise it
was
unlocked! However, the memory had been wiped totally clean. "Shavit!" she swore as her nimble fingers worked over the keyboard.
A few fragments of data popped up. A name and a list of coordinates!
"Raffety - 39-58-632."
There was also what appeared to be the remains of a recent transmission.
["Thats right. Payment of 392,700 creds *** successful delivery of target. ** YOU just need to hold *** Stanz for a few more days. Then you get..****"]
"Tak! she practically squealed, "take a look at this!" Sha'no hoped it wasn't just old data.

Nava Kree
Aboard the Thorn, heading for .. trouble
Tak. Its Nava. Im here....I think.."
As she stared at the damage around her, she heard Tak's voice on the comlink.
["You have it right, mistress. Dock and we can hunt for that item you inquired about - sorry the facilities are in a poor state of repair."]
She was about to ask what in the world he was smoking, when she gave a soft laugh. She had sent an encrypted message. He was on wide band. He was playing the part, in case other ears were listening. She smiled.
"Got that. Docking now..." she replied, as she gave a smile. This should be interesting she thought to herself as she guided her ship towards the docking port.
Carefully so as not to get snagged on any parts floating about, she docked her tiny vessel on to the huge ship. She tucked her blaster back into its hiding spot, and threw on a cover to hide her overalls. Pulling her ears back, she slapped cap on her head, and carefully opened the door.
The smell that hit her nostrils nearly knocked her off her feet. Was that...WOOKIEE!. PHEW!. Nava shuddered, as she stepped inside, feeling a bit cold as she did. She had seen garbage vessels kept up better. 'Why did it have to be a Wookiee?' she thought to herself as she walked slowly. She wondered if it was related to the other one...
She carefully stepped inside, and began to look for Tak, she gave a small chirp as she tried to locate him. Figuring he would most likely be looking for information, she would try the main part of the ship.
Soon she came across the body of a very unfortunate Wookiee. He smelt like burnt fur, and didnt look to well. Nava swallowed hard, and then turned, looking for Tak once more. She picked up talking and movement, so she slowly headed in the direction of the sounds.
She then heard a voice. A definately female voice, speak out.
"Tak!"
she practically squealed,
"take a look at this!"
Tak? Well, at least he seemed to be alright. More than all right, from the sound of things. Nava slowly came into the area, looking around. She saw Tak, and a female..
Wait a carmudgen...wasnt she a Senator also? This was getting confusing. Nava pulled up her cap.
"Tak. Find anything?" she asked, as she looked at the pair.

IC - Tak Vedis
Wookiee ship
Tak's attention was drawn by Sha'no's voice. He looked over to the small console she was on and saw what she was talking about.
"Raffety - 39-58-632." ["Thats right. Payment of 392,700 creds *** successful delivery of target. ** YOU just need to hold *** Stanz for a few more days. Then you get..****"]
Interesting. How could anyone be so careless as to wipe the memory from the computer, and yet leave fragments of the important information they were trying to wipe - unless of course they were interrupted, or that
wasn't
a very important piece of information.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a Xamster entering the room slowly. It was Nava.
"Tak. Find anything?" she asked, as she looked at the pair.
"Possibly," he replied. "A list of possible coordinates, a name and a piece of communication that may or may not relate to your assistant's disappearance." He checked the time stamp on the message fragment and motioned for her to come over. "This is newly elected Senator Sha'no Ryn, Sha'no, this is Senator Nava Kree," finished with the introductions, he turned back to
Nava
"she uh, intercepted the message I sent you by mistake. A mistake for which I am responsible and humbly seek your forgiveness - I can personally vouch for Senator Ryn, as we have been acquainted in the past." Turning his eyes back to the message fragment, he clacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "The timeframe does indeed fit with your missing assistant. Do these coordinates mean anything to you?"
He looked at his chrono. How quickly time flew. "Senator
Kree
, as important as it is that we find Pol alive and well, serving justice is what has called us to serve the New Republic. Our bill for the extradition of Gorgos Olian will be up for debate soon and I can think of no one better to defend our position than you. I promise I will not rest and use every avenue at my command to find Pol and return him safely to you." He didn't want to tell her just what
kind
of avenues he had at his command - not yet. Sha'no already knew too much, and then there was Azervado and his assistant. Things were getting crowded in the know.

GM's OOC:
And with my latest round of PMs, we are ready to start session again! Conservatives: PM me if I missed you on the feelings for your planets on the upcoming bills. Additionally, your bills did not have the bonus and world opinions on them. You’ll get them hopefully by the end of this upcoming week. Someone bug me if I forget this.
And PM me if you have any questions.... or if I missed something. This post was tweaked in a rather sleepy state.
-I_H
IC: Start of the June Session
Location: The Senate Chamber
It was a mostly sunny day in the Legislative District, a few large fluffy clouds piercing the blue of the Coruscant sky. Quite different from the peace above was the chaos below, as the Senate area was awash with police and law enforcement from all over the planet. The nerves of the people were on edge, and the government agencies had taken the liberty to implement some new policies to protect themselves.
There were no reporters to greet the Senators as they arrived in the hall. They were not being allowed past the security barriers. Eventually the police would have to find ways to screen them so that they could view, but for now, they were stuck. Staff was largely in the same predicament, though body-guards would be allowed, unarmed. Although many did not normally notice the reporters and the supporting staff, their absence made the hall noticeably more empty.
The agendas for this session were stacked on a table outside the doors to the Hall. It outlined the schedule for the session, namely SRs 7 through 9 in numerical order.
Once the clock had passed the scheduled time for debate to begin, the Deputy of the Senate, the Chief of Security for the Senate Building and enforcer of the technical rules for the proceedings, approached the main dais. It was his job to being the fairly ceremonial proceedings. He was dressed in old fashion Senate Guard Armor, and carried a ceremonial force pike.
The man procured a large bell from his pocket and rang it vigorously.
“Hear ye, Hear ye!” he said, his voice filling the Senate Chamber. “To all ye beings of the Galaxy. With this bell, the second session of the 19th Galactic Senate does hereby open for debate. In accordance with the Constitution of the New Republic, the floor does promote the honorable Majority Leader, Senator Vegor Zaller of Kuat, to the position of Moderator for this session. In addition, the floor does recognize in attendance the Chancellor the New Republic, the Honorable Territha of Kashyyyk and the Chief Justice of the New Republic, the Honorable Justice Blackstone of Alderaan.
He paused.
And now, it is my honor as Deputy of the Senate to yield the floor to the Majority Leader and open debate on Senate Resolution #7, the Authorization for the Extradition of Gorgos Olian.
The man stepped back to the applause of the other Senators present, and the Majority Leader assumed his position. It was now time for debate to begin, and the podium stood open for the first Senator to take the initiative.
TAG: EVERYONE
And here's SR7:
Senate Resolution #7
Bill Title:
Extradition of Gorgos Olian
Author:
Senator Tak Vedis
Co-Author:
Senator Nava Kree
Contents:
The former governor of Bakura, Gorgos Olian, should be tried in the New Republic. His corruption trial will be influenced on Bakura by many of his political appointees, many of whom - it is alleged - were given substantial bribes, by the former governor.
The sovereign system of Naboo does not believe Olian can receive a fair, unbiased trail on his homeworld, therefore we call upon the Senate to enact a resolution to bring him to Coruscant to stand trial.
Funding:
Funding for the transfer to Coruscant of the accused will be paid by the personal account of the Author of this bill, Senator Tak Vedis.
Enforcement:
If the sovereign government of Bakura resists, it will be the position of the Senate that a trade blockade should be enacted to force a peaceful resolution.
Implimentation:
This resolution would take effect immediately.
Intelligence:
New Republic Intelligence attests the legitimacy of the facts purported in the bill. Several witness do attest under penalty of perjury that the governor did bribe them, their offices, or people they knew. Intelligences' local branch on Bakura attests to the cult of personality surrounding the governor, and agrees with the bill's contents that trials on the planet will be biased in his favor. However, the local judges, presumably under Olian's payroll, do not recognize this bias, and therefore have not allowed for the case to be transfered to a more neutral world. Because any extradition orders would be against both Olian's preferences and the preference of the local judiciary, Intelligence estimates the probability of a trade-blockade as high (above 60%).

OOC: I'm just going to write off the previous month
IC: Senator Donnoc
Location: Galactic Senate
The lepi was unsure of how he was going to deal with this resolution over the extradition of the former Bakuran governor.
He also, did not know where his young aide,
Ms
Gwen "bury me in a Y-shaped coffin" Treadaway was, but that was another story.
Anyway, prior to
Chief Justice Blackstone
's surprise comments to the media, he had had no objection to the Bill, but the man's points had resonated within the Coachelle politician, and he was feeling more wary on the subject.
Additionally, what was the Naboo senator's personal interest in the case?
He could not figure it, but...but, there was
something
about
Vedis
that set off Donnoc's internal IntLiSS (Interfering Little So-and-So) alarms.
He stood up and looked across to the Naboo pod. With its filter on, he could not see if it was even occupied or not. Still, he pressed ahead.
"
Coachelle would like to know what Naboo's specific interest in Bakuran affairs is, for the Senator to put this resolution forward? There seems to be something that Senator Vedis is not telling us?
"

IC - Ashil Furn
Senate chambers
When the senator from Coachelle was finished, Ashil decided it would be the ideal time to voice her reservations for the first time to the entire senate. Standing, she cleared her throat before speaking. "I too have concerns about this proposal in light of what the Chief Justice has to say. He is a learned man and deserving of our full attention. If our esteemed Chief Justice thinks this is goes against our beloved Constitution, then I say it is worth looking at again.
"I too am concerned as to Senator Vedis's interest in this case. He will 'pay' for the extradition? Seems like something personal in this, Senator. We would like to know exactly what you stand to gain from this - no, we
demand
to know, Senator Vedis! What can the New Republic possibly gain by trying to violate the Constitution?"
Satisfied that her words had been heard, Ashil sat down and scribbled a quick note to Senator
Rastor
:
Now might be a propitious time for your voice to be heard on this as well.

Nava Kree
Wookiee ship
"Tak. Find anything?" Nava asked, looking around the room. She was glad to see him, but he looked a bit ... stranger than she was used to seeing him. She wondered what had gone on earlier.
"Possibly,"
he replied.
"A list of possible coordinates, a name and a piece of communication that may or may not relate to your assistant's disappearance."
He checked the time stamp on the message fragment and motioned for her to come over. She walked over slowly, tugging on an ear tip.
"This is newly elected Senator Sha'no Ryn, Sha'no, this is Senator Nava Kree,"
finished with the introductions, he turned back to Nava. Nava was nodded a greeting, but she didnt say anything, as she looked over at Tak.
"She uh, intercepted the message I sent you by mistake. A mistake for which I am responsible and humbly seek your forgiveness - I can personally vouch for Senator Ryn, as we have been acquainted in the past."
Nava tilted her head slightly as she looked at him, and then with a satisfied nod, looked back over at Tak. Not much she could do about it anyways.
Turning his eyes back to the message fragment, he clacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
"The time frame does indeed fit with your missing assistant. Do these coordinates mean anything to you?"
Nava walked over towards the screen, and looked at the coordinates. She frowned. "Thats towards the Minos Cluster... I have been through there sometimes, on my way to the Kathol Sector when we trade." she said slowly.
He looked at his chrono.
"Senator Kree, as important as it is that we find Pol alive and well, serving justice is what has called us to serve the New Republic. Our bill for the extradition of Gorgos Olian will be up for debate soon and I can think of no one better to defend our position than you. I promise I will not rest and use every avenue at my command to find Pol and return him safely to you."
Nava's face darkened at that bit of news. She could care less about the Senate. Pol..HER Pol was missing. But she knew that Pol would never forgive her, if she stopped doing what she was supposed to do, just for his sake. She mulled the decision over, her face becoming serious as she showed fangs..something she almost never did. She then looked up at Tak.
"If that is the case, then you need to know something." Nava blew out a long breath of air. "They were after ME. It seems these Pirates bit off more than they could handle in bets. They bet against me. I had some of their .. 'associates' try to sway me to lose. I turn them down. Then other group came, blew up track. Their driver didnt survive." Nava shook her head.
"So, they meant to grab me. Got Pol instead. They NEED credits, fast..." Nava looked down, frowning before she spoke again. "From what I hear, there is bounty out...on me." She looked back up, giving a viscious grin. "Always liked a challenge..."
She squared her shoulders. "If you think that best, Then I go back to Coruscant, and deal with things...BUT." Nava stared hard at Tak. "You must keep me up date on Pol. No mater what find." Nava waited for Tak's response.

"Thats towards the Minos Cluster... I have been through there sometimes, on my way to the Kathol Sector when we trade." she said slowly.
Tak made a mental note.
"If that is the case, then you need to know something." Nava blew out a long breath of air. "They were after ME. It seems these Pirates bit off more than they could handle in bets. Smiling and bowing, Tak brought his lit lightsaber up to his face in a military salute. "Since you have been so honest and forthcoming with me, I could hardly be any less with you. I hope I can trust you as you have put your trust in me. I shall not rest until Pol is safe and I shall indeed keep you updated. If there is anything extra you can add, please let me know.
"As to the current issue, please, if you would, remind the Chief Justice that his place is to
interpret
what the spirit of the Constitution means, not simply recite what the
letter
of the law prescribes. He is a wise and intelligent man; I am sure he will understand that since all the high judiciary is on Gorgos Olian's payroll, even if he receives a fair trial with a lower court, the higher courts will simply overrule it and justice, true justice of the spirit of the law will not be served. Since Bakura was a New Republic world during Olian's governorship, it is in fact our responsibility to try him in the New Republic, as he was an official of our government as well as his home planet's at the time.
"And would you please take Senator Ryn with you to Coruscant? I think opposition will be high due to the Chief Justice's initial speech and we will need all the support we can get."
He turned to Sha'no. "As much as I appreciate the help, protecting others from tyranny is very important."
Tak was unsure where to go next, other than the Minos Cluster, so he hoped
Nava
would have a bit more to tell him before she left.

Time went by fairly quickly. Out of the fifty patents she had, only six had Bacta allergies. The others were advance cases of Pylox-W exposure.
The normal treatment for Pylox-W is Inatropine which blocks the brain’s acetylcholine receptors, and allows the Pylox-W to be broken down through natural hydrolysis.
The problem with prolonged exposure is that the Pylox-W forms covalent bonds with the acetylcholine enzymes that prevents hydrolysis.
There is no known medicinal agent that can reverse this bond. So Bellial didn’t bother looking. Instead she utilized one of her more unique skills, one not of medicine, but of the Force.
Using the Force, Bellial was able to modify the Inatropine to unbind then block the receptors enough to allow normal hydrolysis to occur. Only two of the forty four patients died due to irreparable brain damage.
The six patients that were allergic to Bacta were more time consuming. Normal Inatropine would be effective, but without Bacta to counter the Inatropine, which is poisonous in its own right, it was a fatal cure.
Bellial used healing trances to compensate for the loss of Bacta. It was slower and more tedious, but proved effective.
Forty-eight patients were on their way to recovery by the weeks end, and Bellial had another problem to deal with. The new Senate session was about to begin and she was off world.
It wouldn’t due for a new member of the Senate to miss her first session. So with her work at Coronet Medcenter finished she packed up and departed for Coruscant.
It had been a long and grueling flight, but in the end she had made it back with an hour to spare. Cleaning up and dressing fast, she made it into the pod designated for Mon Calamari just in time to hear the opening bell.
“Hear ye, Hear ye! To all ye beings of the Galaxy. With this bell, the second session of the 19th Galactic Senate does hereby open for debate...
And now, it is my honor as Deputy of the Senate to yield the floor to the Majority Leader and open debate on Senate Resolution #7, the Authorization for the Extradition of Gorgos Olian.”
A Senator stood and addressed the chamber.
"Coachelle would like to know what Naboo's specific interest in Bakuran affairs is, for the Senator to put this resolution forward? There seems to be something that Senator Vedis is not telling us?"
Bellial agreed with Senator Donnoc. It was curious that Senator Vedis proposed this bill, and offered to finance it himself.
Bellial stood.
“If I may... I agree with the Senator from Coachelle. I would also like to know Senator Vedis’s reasons for proposing this bill, and I intend to ask him when I can, but for now I believe the point of this debate should be wither or not a change of venue for Gorgos Olian’s trial is relevant.”
She paused as she waited to be recognized by the floor.
Tag: He who controls the Floor. I am not sure who that is.

You have to organize us. We're not cowards, we'll do as you tell us, we'll fight.
No. - Why not? - Soldiers deserve soldiers, Sir
But one soldier, against seventeen. What are you going to do?
I'm going to kill them all, Sir.

RE: The Galactic Senate RPG - Now Accepting New Players Throughout the Month of May!
OOC: Apologies for the short post, I'm gonna ease back into this.
IC: Chancellor Territha
Senate Hall: In Session
The Chancellor's time this last month had been spent healing after the attack on her life. Medical droids had insisted on keeping her for observation for a long time and she'd been unconscious off and on for over a week. Even when they'd released her she had been told to stay in her rooms and not travel around. Security had been tightened around her as well, especially after the terrorist attacks. She'd grumbled about the added security, but after the try on her life there was nothing she could do to stop it as her administration had been insistent on Riding in the armored transport over to the Senate Hall, she had sat between two other wookiees. No longer would she be traveling with just Cate as her companion. Things were amiss in the galaxy, deeply worrying Territha.
Sitting in her chair on the Senate floor, she patiently waited for people to discuss the current bill. She'd received reports from her people informing her there was a rumble about an unconstitutional bill being presented, but she was not informed as to which bill it was. This was going to be an interesting session.

RE: The Galactic Senate RPG - Now Accepting New Players Throughout the Month of May!
OOC: Sooo sorry for lack of posts and everything. Internet problems and school.
IC – Sha’no Ryn
Wookiee ship
Almost unable to speak, Sha’no just watched and listened to the conversation between Tak and Senator Kree. When Tak brought out his saber again, Sha’no briefly had a flash of a vision: he was very much like what she’d heard about Jedi in the long gone past. Gallant, honorable.
And then Tak said something that made Sha’no perk up.
"And would you please take Senator Ryn with you to Coruscant? I think opposition will be high due to the Chief Justice's initial speech and we will need all the support we can get."
She was about to protest that she was no weakling who needed to be protected when there was danger, but then he turned to her and said,
"As much as I appreciate the help, protecting others from tyranny is very important."
If it’s possible for a twi'lek to change colors, Sha’no must have gone through a rainbow on her cheeks. “I’ll go anywhere you want, Tak,” she said quietly, hoping the Xamster wouldn’t hear. She briefly wondered if the Xamster might present competition, but then reconsidered. Once you go twi’lek, you never go back.
She also began to consider what he’d said about the current bill.
