RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
Darth Nihil - Sith Chambers
Vanda Grel sat, listening to the other Sith factions talk. Mostly, it was of nothing that drew her interest, so she simply stayed quiet. She figured that it must be boring, when one Sith suddenly changed the color of his clothing. She did not move, but instead sat sillent, her arms crossed. Sooner or later the meeting would end, and then she could deal with more fruitful ventures. As she watched the body movements of the others from behind her helm, studying them, she was suddenly contacted in a way she had not expected to be contacted in. Someone was reaching out to her within the Force. Nihil instantly grew on guard, as she released her defensives just enough to let the touch reach her mind, while slowly adjusting the controls on her helm. This conversation was going to stay private. It took only a flicker of an eye to complete the task. Grel had reshaped her mental shields as well. She didnt want to alert anyone that she was receiving a message. As for emotions..well, they could simply feel the heated surge of anger that always seemed to come from her. It has its purpose. Now satisfied none could sense anything amiss, she listened to the incoming message from a trusted source.
//Master, it seems someone has failed to impersonate a response from you. Eitherway, I have some news concerning the mission as well as some points of interest. It appears the Rebel Meeting will be taking place in an abandoned warehouse in Sector D. You'll never guess who the bearer of such news is working for...//
She listened to the rest of Zen Shiva's message. Zen Shiva reported to Darth Nihil, relating all the facts she knew about the mission thus far as well as her own suspicions and observations.
//Tycam should be there already, and I shall join him shortly.//
Grel was silent for a few long moments as she mulled over the information she had just received. Outwardly, she had not changed anthing, and was still watching the others as they chatted, but her dark mind sifted over the situation that presented itself. The implications were even more dark. Someone was trying to manipulate the situation. After a moment, Darth Nihil responded to Zen Shiva.
//Excellent work Darth Spectraal. Indeed, there is more at work here than what we have been informed. I need not tell you the stakes of this mission. Continue to use your comlink as you would, but contact me directly for any important updates. I feel there is more at stake, than simple Rebels. You and Tycam keep a dark watch.//
Grel's eyes shifted now, looking as the one known as Wijs stood up and left. Wonder what she was off to discover. Then Morati's made a very keen observation. She listened careful to Solus response.
"But we know of no other threat Enfarious, are you implying someone here would withhold information of that nature? Surely not, we all seek the good of the Alliance and not mentioning some threat discovered would remove all trust for whatever faction did it. Surely none would dare the others uniting against them."
He then went on to accuse Morati of insinuating treason. Grel found that quite interesting, in light of what she had just heard.
Grel decided to play the role once more. She leaned back, and began to laugh. It was a gruff sound under her armor. "Well.. THIS has been ... amusing ... but pointless." She stood and began to stoll around the chambers, taking time to look outside to the view below. "While then little visit has been SOOOO much fun, is there anything ELSE you wish to pass on to us, so that we can take care of our areas?" she asked Solus directly.

RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
IC: Jaren Nortik
It was night…
No sun hit the ground, lucky we have a single stick, light by a little flame. Jaren rechecked his computer, the insignia was a little smudged, it wasn’t Mandalorian, and so what was it. Just one of the many questions, on this planet. Jaren used a high beam of light in the front of his computer. He was able to see and decode some of the writings upon a door up ahead, which was about a mile away. They were to fogged to read, while being corroded with old rocks and dirt.
Jaren still heard brief howling, far away. Whatever they were, it was getting closer and they were outnumbered. He walked over to Alona slipping his computer back inside his rucksack. She seemed angry and at the same time confused. What did he know Jaren is only a padawan?
“What’s wrong Alora, you seem depressed with mixed emotions” Jaren asked? “If it’s about what Karn said, don’t worry about him” Jaren said before she was able to talk.

GM POST
Rebel Team
The Rebels made their way up the path, trying to stay ahead of the beasts behind them. The going was made hard by the incessant rain and hail. However, if they looked hard enough, through the rain and fog, they
thought
they could see... something. A door, perhaps?
Meanwhile several of the Jedi began probing with the Force to see what was going on. What they felt and saw was very strange.... and disturbing. A wall of.... something, hit them through the Force. It was almost... distortion of a sort. Effectively, the Jedi could receive no idea of exactly where the beasts were or how many of them there truly were. The response was so varied and rapidly changing, that it was impossible to get any real fix on them. It was almost as if the Force was being scattered around the beasts....
Underlevel Team
The Sith began to move into the warehouse. As they entered, they were in a short hallway, that ended in a door. The four moved slowly towards it. When they opened it up, they were in a booth that overlooked a large warehouse. The outward appearance was misleading as to the size of the structure. About half of it rested underground. The booth was lit, as was the warehouse. If the Sith were to look close enough, they would notice something in the center of the maze of shipping crates that resided on the warehouse floor.
NOTE: Just trying to move things along.
IC: Darth Solus
Solus was extremely pleased to see the reactions to him. Distrust.... perhaps even disgust. He was very pleased. He smiled as Morati spoke.
"Oh, is that what you thought I was implying Solus? Hardly, I was merely attempting to assure everyone that it simply couldn't happen. As I said, who would dare risk this. You wouldn't happen to have a guilty concious now... would you?"
Solus was about to laugh and reply with a rather witty and sarcastic comment to that, when the fool across the table from him beat him to it. Her laugh was an aggravating thing, though Solus kept it from showing on his face. She then stood, and moved over to the window, playing it off like she cared not for this meeting. In truth, Solus did not care for it either. However, it was essential to his plans.
"While then little visit has been SOOOO much fun, is there anything ELSE you wish to pass on to us, so that we can take care of our areas?"
Solus raised a brow at that. So, she was accusing him of something? Or perhaps she was just being a fool. Either way, Solus noted that neither master seemed to know what they were getting into, dealing with him as such. So, Solus simply smiled. "My dear, dear, Nihils. Perhaps you'd wish to expound upon your meaning? After all, young masters such as myself are clearly at a disadvantage when it comes to matters of perception and wisdom, as compared to you much more experienced ones." His tone was perfectly serious and sober, which made his comment all the better. He awaited a reply.

IC: Orien Sindale
Orien sighed and sped up, giving on on trying to sense whatever it was the pursued them. She instead sharpened her eyesight and looked ahead for a place where they could fight if they needed to. As she looked at the others for a brief second, she noticed the other Jedi were trying to sense what it was, all save Alora, who was also looking for a defensible place. At times like this, Orien wished she had turned down the mission that they gave her.
Orien saw what looked like a door far in front, and threw her Force sense to it, trying to check it out. Things were getting persistently annoying, and the team was starting to get a bit snippy with each other. She took a breath to center herself again, and pressed on, turning her frustration into something more constructive.

RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
Of
Darth Wijs
in
the Sith Council Chamber on Coruscant
Wijs
faintly noticed the set of Coruscant Prime. It was always a beautiful scene, the call of night, but as the lights went out, so did the wolf’s control. She turned her attention to the exchange between
Mrris
and
Rayden
as it came full-circle. On the outside it was easy to guess that each was pointing fingers. But, to trained eyes, not a hand was seen. They were sparring verbally, attacking the other’s mistakes. It was dangerous warfare for everyone, if one of them lost control.
It was such a thin line, that these Sith had, and Wijs was not willing to risk an all-out duel in the Council, if one crossed over. She remained seated, her leg quivering slightly over the opposite knee. Her wings twitched, the first time since the beginning of the commune. Her voice rung poetic.
“Busy old fool, unruly Sun, why dost thou eternally fall?”
She paused to let her words hang in the air, but not for more than a moment. She replaced them with far less articulate conversation, but conveyed the same message. It was for the benefit of Vanda, of course. She had, in fact, been the one to suggest the conclusion to their gathering.
“I fear that, in sweet repose, we must follow the principles of our light. Along with the day, this meeting should find it’s peaceful end.”
Wijs strained peaceful, so her message to Vanda would be understood. She knew how easy it was for the brute’s attention to, just, pop into nothingness. Everyone in the room must live to see the next morn.

RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
IC: Zen Shiva (Darth Spectraal)
Undercity, Coruscant
//Excellent work
Darth Spectraal
. Indeed, there is more at work here than what we have been informed. I need not tell you the stakes of this mission. Continue to use your comlink as you would, but contact me directly for any important updates. I feel there is more at stake, than simple Rebels. You and
Tycam
keep a 'dark watch'.//
Zen Shiva
could feel her Master's words through the Force even more vividly than she did when in her physical presence. The tenacious nature of
Darth Nihil
coursed through every word, reafirming that this was indeed her Sith Master. Zen Shiva nodded imperceptably as Darth Nihil finished her communication and knew that their exchange had come to an end.
//As you command.//
Zen Shiva sent acknowledgement through the force and disengaged contact just as her master did the same. She then opened her eyes as she rose to her feet and walked over to the edge of the roof she was on. Night was falling over the vast city of Coruscant as the sun was devoured by unforgiving high rise structures, giving way to night. Zen Shiva smiled faintly as she felt the first wisps of cool night air. The zeltron-echani hybrid sighed lightly. This was no time for such pleasantries. The mission and it's succesful completion was all she was focused on at the moment.
Several meters below her and across the street, was the warehouse which supposedly served as the meeting place for the Rebels.
Zen Shiva did not bother to disguise the disgust she felt as she looked at the structure.
"Peace is a LIE." she said simply.
Utilizing a surge of the darkside to empower her, Zen Shiva scanned the warehouse and the neighboring area with her force senses. The warehouse itself felt strangely deserted, and to add to her suspicions, she could not confirm the presence of any of the supposed fifteen
CSF Troopers
.
"Someone has gone to alot of trouble to set up this elaborate trap." she whispered darkly in irritation.
Besides the absence of said rebels and CSF troopers, Zen Shiva could also sense the Sith Team already begining their infiltration. It only took her the span of a heartbeat to realize that a sith had gone missing. A more thorough scan yielded no different results. To her mild surprise, she was able to identify
Tycam
among the group she sensed. At least there was no foul play or treachery....yet.
//Tycam, why do I sense only 'three' of you? I need a status report.// Zen Shiva sent mentally to her fellow Gundark.
While waiting for a response from Tycam, Zen Shiva's icy blue eyes narrowed as she calculated the trajectory needed to get her to her desired destination. After a few moments, the path was revealed.
Employing her high acrobatic skills in combination with Force jump, the Sith Battlemaster performed a series of long and precarious leaps across the vast open air, bouncing off small ledges and several tall poles with uncanny precision, until at last she controlled her long descent with the force, to finally land quietly on the warehouse roof. Crouching to the floor, Zen Shiva moved quickly and silently to the shadows, reconning for an entrance or a porthole to look through. She doubted that such an abandoned structure would have any operational security systems, but she checked for those as well nevertheless.
It was always better to be safe than sorry.

RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
Might not be able to post again until Friday - I'm a little swamped IRL.
IC: Darth Kanor
Undercity, Coruscant
The three Sith followed Kanor in - although, of course, they couldn't see him. Cloaked as he was, Kanor could still sense them close by but that was all - doing anything actively with the Force would reveal his presence. The door at the end of the passage presented a minor conundrum; Kanor's outline shimmered briefly in the darkness as he pulled it open, and faded once again as he let go of the door.
He found himself in a booth overlooking the warehouse floor. A
lit
booth - Kanor kept his position closer to the back of it, out of the direct light. The warehouse floor was lit as well and strewn with a maze of shipping crates ... and something unidentifiable in the middle ... well. Now he was curious. Kanor could certainly continue on, cloaked as he was, and investigate whatever it was in the middle. But that would leave the rest of the Sith team doing - what?
This was why he hated working in groups.
"Well?" he murmured, barely loud enough to be heard by the other Sith - they wouldn't be able to see him, but they would know it was him. Undoubtedly they had also realized that their trap would be in the centre of the warehouse. "I suggest we stay together," Kanor continued. "Pick a path to the centre - I will continue following undetected, so when we spring this trap of theirs, they will expect three and not four."
As he spoke, he glanced around for a way down. Jumping was certainly an option - but to do that safely he would have to draw on the Force, and that would reveal his presence, however briefly.

RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
Alora Breebain
Alora had muttered about their situation, as was looking for place for a defensive stance, when she heard the Rodian growl out...
"Save your whining for when were done with this path."
Alora all but smiled. But she held the back of the area, leaping to another spot on the cliff. Tak yelled to the group that they might want to pick up the pace abit. Alora made another leap, using the Force to increase the distance.
The others made their way up the path, trying to stay ahead of the beasts behind them. The going was made hard by the incessant rain and now...hail? It was as if the weather was being controlled. There should be no hail in a jungle environment. It was something else to think upon. Further up, thought looked like there was a bit of hope. Something lay in the way. A door, perhaps? Alora hoped so.
But what was truly disturbing was what she felt in the Force. A wall of.... something, hit them through the Force. It was almost... distortion of a sort. Were these creatures blinded from the Force? A very disturbing thought indeed.
Alora turned her head, when she heard a voice somewhat near to her. Jaren Nortik had tried to make his way close to her, but he was still on the path, while she clung to a perch.
“What’s wrong Alora, you seem depressed with mixed emotions”
Jaren asked?
“If it’s about what Karn said, don’t worry about him.”
Jaren said before she was able to talk.
WHAT???
Alora frowned a moment, and then simply shook her head and shoulders. "Nothing the was said would bother me. The only things that draws my concern is those creatures below. They Force seems to be warped around them, making it hard to sense them." Alora looked up. Hurry with the others, and see if that is indeed a door above us. We need to get inside, before those creatures reach the rest of the party."
She wondered if the strange feeling had other implications. But perhaps, their location could be used to an advantage. But she would not do anything unless the creatures got too close. Alora began moving up the cliff once more, hoping that that was indeed a door above them.

RE: The Xanatian Chronicles
IC: Tal Vay
Undercity, Coruscant, Warehouse
A short hallway and a door later, Tal looked down from the booth with the other three - one being the currently invisible Kanor of course - at the crates that filled the abandoned warehouse...a lit,
abandoned
warehouse, as it was supposed to be. It was clear that someone was using the warehouse, but whether for a meeting area or a location for a trap, that was yet to be discovered.
"I suggest we stay together. Pick a path to the centre - I will continue following undetected, so when we spring this trap of theirs, they will expect three and not four."
The voice seemingly came out of nowhere, but Tal knew that the speaker was
Kanor
, still hiding with his little technique. The assassin glanced to where he heard the Sith's voice, then looked back down to stare at the center of the warehouse. Something was there alright.
Acting as ordered, Tal looked for a path, found one, and took it. After another long look down to allow him to make an estimated guess on how high they were, the assassin
jumped
from the booth, using the Force to help cushion his fall as he landed on top of one of the stacks of crates.
It was a good way to be seen or sensed by any Jedi that may or may not be around, the assassin knew that but just simply didn't worry about it. The warehouse being apparently lit, if there were those waiting around in ambush, they would not have to worry too much about anyone hiding in the shadows. And where would these ambushers be? As Tal walked along the tops of the stacks of crates, the Sith glanced around left and right, taking a good look of the area and several guesses went through his mind on where the supposed ambushers could be hiding and what they would do if the Sith ended up springing their trap.
Were they hiding in the crates themselves? Ready to pop out at a moment's notice? Or were they going to wait for the Sith to get in a position that would allow a Jedi to topple one of these stacks of crates over and crush them? Or perhaps a combination of both?
He wasn't going to find out for the moment, but as he moved along silently to the center of the warehouse, he knew it would only be a matter of time.

IC: Dresden Karn
Dresden and the others stumbled and faltered up the few remaining meters of the trail. They had reached the pentacle of the trail, which at the end laid a large square metal object. A door. The team rushed to the large polyplastic door and quickly set up into a defensive position. Dresden tried to open the door, but it was locked tight, it could only be opened with someone familiar with electronics such as this. Dresden quickly looked around at the team.
“Any of you know how to open one of these damn things? As you can see we’re kind of running out of time,” yelled Dresden over the loud and pounding noise of the mixture of rain and hail. Hoping that one of his new found and trusted companions knew what the hell to do with this door.

IC - Tak Vedis
Being in the rear did have its uses. Tak watched the two females interesting forms as they plodded along. Except the giant rodian kept getting in his view. It figured.
However, what really bothered him, was that the creatures seemed to be wrapped in a bubble that kept the Force out. Suddenly, those in front seemed to get excited about something and they seemed to have some sort of direction in their steps now, but Tak could barely see the chicks behind the enormous rodian, let alone what they might be running toward. Still, what he saw did remind him he had to get his chrono fixed. That pendulum swinging brought it up in his mind.
Grinning, he kept up with them all, wondering how long it would be before the creatures would get close enough that he'd have to stop, draw his saber and get ready for a good old fashioned rumble in the jungle.
"Yeah, yeah, keep your fur on," he yelled back at the howling critters. "Sheesh, you'd think they expected us to wait for'em."
Suddenly everyone stopped and Tak came up to the group, only to hear the boss ask if anyone knew how to open a door. "I can stick my saber into it, Chief. That oughta open it, but it may take a minute or two."

“Any of you know how to open one of these damn things? As you can see we’re kind of running out of time.”
Orien grinned to herself and went forward to the door. She had more than once snuck into guarded buildings through their backdoors. It came with the job. She checked over the electronics that operated the door, and nodded. "I think I can get the door open, Lieutenant," she yelled over the noise of the rain. "It'll probably be better than your idea, Master Vedis. At least this way we could lock whatever it is that is howling OUT." She got to work on the door, using the Force as well as her experiences to guide her hands. The lock clicked off, and she hit the opener for the door, only to hear a low whirring noise as the gears uselessly tried to move the door. It was stuck shut.
Orien kicked the door, muttering a low stream of obscenities. "The blasted thing is stuck!" she yelled over the noises, and kicked the door again.

GM POST
Geesh. You Rebels. Making things difficult for yourselves......
Rebel Team
The Rebels had now reached the door, and were frantically trying to get in. One of the Jedi managed to slice the door, but it refused to open. A light came on at the top of the door and scanned the group in front of it. After a moment, it went out again. A female voice came out of a speaker nearto the door.
"Species and Affiliation varified."
The door then slid open.
It was painfully apparent that the things were getting closer. The howls were now ear shattering, and the group could hear the pounding of padded feet on the ground.
The Sith team will have an update after the others reply, or some more time has passed.

A few folks offered to slice at it with their lightsabers.

"Get in! I'll see if I can slow our friends down..." she yelled at the other. It was apparent that the things were getting closer. The howls were now ear shattering, and the group could hear the pounding of padded feet on the ground.
With a sudden flourish, Alora ignited her saber blade. Reaching up, she sliced at a chunk of the rock cliff face. Giving it a nudge with the Force, she sent the chunk tumbling down the path behind them towards the creatures heading for them. With luck, that would give them enough time to get everyone in, and close the door before the creature reached them.
