IC: Governor Exemplar Gregor Hulnare
Gregor had to admit that the Admiral's words had angered him. If the fool only knew how much Gregor had to do to attain his position, he would not be daring enough to speak to him in such a fashion. If the good Admiral only knew what Gregor did in his position--with and without Shadra's permission--he'd be shaking in his boots right now. While the anger threatened to boil over, Gregor had certainly gained enough experience in controlling his appearance over the years. One did not become Governor Exemplar by getting carried away with and revealing every little thought and emotion. So, instead, as the glob of spit hit his chest, Gregor merely let a broad smile crack his face. Certainly, he was scheming in what fashion would most like to see this man die, but there was little evidence of that.
"My my. It seems the good Admiral is jealous." Gregor's voice was smooth, calm, and thoroughly insulting. His comment had oozed sarcasm. In truth Gregor was waiting for the Admiral to take a swing at him. It was a little game of his, to anger these perfectly controlled military types and see what it took to provoke a reaction. Besides, Gregor did not get in enough fights, so he was always looking for an opportunity to test his skills.

IC: Petaya
Citidal Station
Petaya Jamison didn't know who her parents were, she couldn't remember them it had been so long ago, but she could imagine how the victim's father must be feeling. The news of the murder on Manaan had already reached Telos, fueled by the fact a lightsaber had been used in the attack. Thus, the list of suspects was short. The ex Padawan didn't usually carry hers about anyway, given the stigma Jedi had she didn't want to be seen to be associated with them. That didn't stop her from acting like a Jedi as much as she could get away with doing so however.
"You heard too?" A Czerka employee came up next to her, looking at the report. Petaya measured her reply before speaking.
"Interesting the type of weapon that's said to be used." She knew for a fact that lightsabers had made it into the hands of weapons traders, even Czerka had stocked them.
"You don't think a Jedi or Sith did it?" Petaya contemplated that for a moment. A Sith commits wanton acts of destruction because they can, yet this seemed to be pointless even to them, why just one person? If it was a Sith then there was certainly more to it than there appeared. On the other hand if it was a Jedi then it really showed how far they had fallen.
"I'm thinking about the poor father more than anything," she said finally, not wanting to play detective just yet. She thought about what would happen if she lost who had effectively become her family. Contemplating it for a moment it occured to her she already had, not seeing the familiar faces of fellow Padawans or Jedi Masters, or really even Jedi full stop. Not that she looked too hard, severing ties with them during the war.
"Finding whoever did it would help." Petaya nodded at the wisdom of the words. "It's just one big mess," the Czerka officer went on. "Jedi, Sith, they're all the same. Fanatics about spreading their religion across the galaxy. Obsessed to the point of not caring who dies in the name of their beliefs." He looked at Petaya strangely, who seemed to be ignoring him to scan around the station.
"I seem to remember a bounty on Jedi, and Sith tactics against Jedi being used by non Force users, so they wouldn't be innocent of forcing their views either." The Czerka Officer was taken aback by the comment and thought of a way he could reply, but had to ask something first.
"Sorry, you're not one yourself are you?" If Petaya was a Jedi or Sith this was an argument he wanted no part of. In actuality it was message that had come over the commlink in her ear that had made her distracted.
"No," she said, trying to focus on what he said. "I'm not one of them." The relief on his face was evident.
"That's a relief. You seemed to zone out for a moment and I was afraid you'd rip out my guts to hang from the roof before setting my body alight."
"And that's only if I was a Jedi," Petaya joked, hoping to set him at ease. He almost smiled. "Maybe I could, that is, if you want." The Czerka officer stammered for a moment, not wanting to give her any encouragement.
"Actually I have some friends you might like to meet. They don't like Jedi or Sith either, and you seem pretty clued up on them." Petaya shook her head.
"No, I actually have a life." She walked off before the Czerka officer could reply, heading for the shuttle to take her down to Telos.
IC: Matala
Manaan
"That isn't good enough," Matala said angrily as she and Lieutenant Schulio walked to the Republic Embassy. "The Selkath should have been able to protect him with how fanatical they are about the law, now they want to take over the investigation?"
"It's their world," Schulio tried to reason, knowing that it would be pointless. The thing was, he agreed. The Republic would make certain whoever was responsible would be brought to justice. And there were at least some Selkath who were sympathetic to the Sith, a blind eye could be turned any involvement they might have, though the same could be said for Logan. "I'll go and check the hotel again," Schulio said when they reached the embassy, "maybe I can find something else out there." Matala nodded, angry enough to be left to her own devices. She went in and made her way to comms to check for messages.
"Who's the caged animal," she asked, seeing a human locked inside a force cage.
"A terrorist we picked up," the Republic officer guarding him replied. "He wants to make himself a martyr when he stands trial." A sneer cross Matala's face.
"That a fact?" She walked right up and glared at the prisoner. "What you say boy? You gonna try and rally supporters?"
"The entire galaxy will hear of my achievements. Everyone will know and fear me."
"Accomplishments? Don't make us laugh." The Republic officer knew Matala wouldn't know, so he explained. "This piece of slime thought raiding colonies ravaged by conflict was a good way to gain infamy. He took what women and children who survived then killed everyone else."
"Only human women and children," the terrorist gloated, clearly pleased with himself. "And you'll never find them either, or know why." Matala started to play around with the force cage controls.
"What are you doing?" she was asked. Before she could do anymore the officer pulled her hands away, remembering a similar case where the terrorist was found dead.
"He'll talk." The idea of picking his flesh out of her teeth after carrying out the evil ideas she had in mind flashed through her head. "He'll talk when he realizes we'll kill him if he doesn't."
"Ha, you wouldn't dare." The Republic officer only served to enforce that opinion.
"For Force sake we're not butchers, we're not going to beat him to death." Matala hesitated, desperately wanting to wipe that gloating sneer off the terrorist's face.
"Yes, yes, listen to your betters." Matala didn't press the issue, instead turning for one last parting shot.
"Follow your advice and listen up, your trial won't be on the holonets, nor will there be records of your evil. It'll all be done behind closed doors, before we kill you and dump you in a shallow grave." There were no signs of reaction but Matala hoped the thought of no media attention would horrify him. "Just another unknown corpse no one cares about." Satisfied she made her point Matala left, walking into comms and accessing a computer to find she had several messages. The first was from a weapons trader, information on the selling of lightsabers. That would certainly be worth digesting later on. The second was a request for a face to face commlink conference, a request she honored. "Sergeant Medcraft from Manaan," she said once it was set up, "who am I speaking to?"

IC: Petaya
Telos IV
How the Jedi found her Petaya had no idea, the Force she guessed. The reason why they wanted to see her eluded her as well. The blue tights and vest certainly didn't make her look like a Jedi, nor did the Hold Out blaster at her side. The message she received was short and to the point.
"Come to Telos, there is a shuttle waiting for you for an audience with the Council." In truth she had not been able to rationalize past that so far, trying in vain to send a reply.
Thanks but no thanks, she thought, wondering if she wants to play the Jedi again. If the voice had been of friends, Masters from before she might have been more willing. The fact that it wasn't was a reminder that they were gone and her blood ran cold at the thought. By the time the shuttle landed at the Council Petaya had managed to digest the Jedi had returned, and they wanted her along for the ride. She wondered if maybe it was sacrilege to be dressed the way she was, there was something about that she was certain of it. Well if she wasn't dressed like a Jedi then she could at least act like one, starting with her walk. As she was led to where she was to meet she pulled the vest tighter around her, still self conscious about not wearing Jedi robes.
"Knights Terino and Jameson. Welcome. If you haven't already met them, please meet Master Dash Sek'kas and Knight Jerad Dorn." Trying to remember Jedi etiquette Petaya bowed to one knee before them, fist planted to the ground and head low, knowing the Jedi would be studying her closely to get a read on her personality.
"An honor," she said, not realizing her stance was actually Sith in nature.
"You'll be teamed with them on your assignment to Citadel Station." She raised her head to listen, quickly getting to her feet to stand as everyone else did, then raised her hand like a child once Dooku had finished.
"Knight, master?" It would have been very bad form to laugh, she hadn't been a Jedi, official or otherwise, for years. Petaya would have figured they'd be hurting for help, but promoting her to Knight?
Better not make sleeping arrangements, she pondered, thinking of all the training she'd have to do, there'd be no time for sleep.

IC: Admiral Vynn
the Admiral looked at the Governor with a foul expression. He could sense that he was losing control of his temper. He knew that a man like the Governor would love to provoke him into a fight. But Vynn hadn't spent 18 years getting into his position to have it taken away for slugging the Governor Exemplar. So instead he took a deep breath, smoothed out the wrinkles in his otherwise pristine uniform, and resolved to get back at this pompous slug another time. Vynn knew that every moment he wasted here was a moment that he could be using to fulfill Darth Shadra's task.
"Why would I be jealous of an overblown airbag?"
He grinned cruelly and turned away. He looked back after he had moved down the hall a few strides.
"If anything, you should be jealous of me. At least MY father was an accomplished Sith pilot. Your's was nothing but an ignorant grunt."
He threw his head back and barked out a short laugh. Vynn left the Governor standing in the hallway, and moved on. He had to assemble his team and meet the rest of the group at the building to begin their task.

IC: Governor Exemplar Gerard Hulnare
The Governor Exemplar simply laughed out loud as the Admiral turned his back and stormed off. Did he really think that Gerard was insulted by insults to his father? Gerard hated his father. His father had done nothing with his life. His father had never helped him. All his father did was get him to a point where he could continue on his life. Still laughing to himself at the foolishness of the Admiral, Gerard made his way into the council chamber that was now vacant. He did not pause to knock. Perhaps that would anger Shadra. Perhaps, perhaps not. He did not pretend to care.
As he approached the Dark Lord, he gave a respectful bow. Shadra was, sadly enough, still stronger than Gerard... for now. With a silky smooth voice, Gerard spoke. "My master, if I may indulge you for a moment of your time?" He remained bowed, his voice was filled with respect, awe, and a hint of fear. None of those emotions were truly genuine.

Sith Empire
IC: Lotus Bitario
Master Bitario opened his eyes as the time approached. He streched his muscles while he was sitting, individualy expanding them one by one, so that by the time he stood up. He was limber and loose to move. When he was done, he grabbed his comlink and pulled it to his mouth.
His low voice coming over to all those that were to accompany him.
"...Master Bitario to evidence retrieval team. It is time to gather in the hangar. I shall be along promptly. Make sure you have everything you need... we wont be returning until the job is done."
Lotus grabbed his black satchel bag and looked at it. He made sure that his forensics kit was tucked neatly inside of it. The bag itself was made of a lightweight material that wouldn't weigh him down and wouldn't make a lot of noise when it rubbed against his flexible armor.
He checked the charge on his lightsaber and all of the gear around his belt. Among the gear was another cylinder, smooth but unlike his lightsaber in the texture. It was his liquid cable launcher. He could easily use the Force to help him scale buildings swiftly. But climbing was just as good and it didn't draw on his Force reserves. He felt that he may need to rely on this tool for the upcoming mission.
Bitario checked himself in a full length mirror in his room. He looked like an assassin/soldier with the mixture of lightweight armor, cowl and mask, and heavy duty boots that raised him off the ground an extra half inch. When it came down to it, he knew that if he were a normal person, and he saw someone that looked like himself now. He would walk the other direction.
With his right hand he made sure that his belt was secure he unclipped it and snapped it back into place. The clip itself was a replica of the crimson stamped emblem on his chest. The sign of his trade and former military special ops unit in the Sith Empire. They had been called the "Demons of the Darkness". Lotus rather enjoyed such heritage. This would be, in point of fact, not his first time working with Admiral Vynn or Commander Rast. Vile was the newcomer here. He had been aboard Vynn's vessels more times than he cared to count. And while in the normal military, Lotus had served under Rast as a special agent. He deeply respected both men for their professional nature and comittment to the Empire. But this Apprentice Vile may hamper things on this occasion. He hoped.. no.... he KNEW that everyone would work well together on this mission... They had to.
Because Lotus was in charge, appointed by Lord Shadra. Things did NOT go wrong...when he was at the helm. Because if they did....
Lotus narrowed his already shadowed eyes in the mirror.
...He would destroy anyone who got in the way of Lord Shadra's ambitions. Rast and Vynn he wasn't concerned about. The earlier outbreak of emotion from Vile however concerned him. This was no place for him to prove himself. To much was riding on it. But Lord Shadra willed him to be here and so he was. If he was lucky he would learn something from Bitario and take it with him for the rest of his life. However short that may be....
Lotus Bitario squared his shoulders and left the room, black satchel on his back. He made his way to the hangar and waited for the rest of his team to arrive.
Tag Sith Team.
OOC: Just for the record. bit of clarification. When I think of it, Bitario is pronounced phonetically as. Bee - Tall - Eee- Oh. I like to roll the R. hehehe sounds more fun that way.
